Here’s the link for the latest National Intelligence Estimate, The Terrorist Threat to the US Homeland. I’ll post a comment later this afternoon. This much is clear. George Bush and his national security team have failed the basic task of bringing to justice the men who planned and executed the 9-11 attacks.

As the Bushies hype the threat they left to fester and helped to grow, is Bush going to take vacation for the entire month of August again? And does this mean we’re no longer fighting them over there so we don’t have to fight them here?
Oh-oh, Larry & Susan,
Moonie Rowan Scarborough was on Faux News today calling VIPS traitors, who are undermining Bush and GWOT.
Why would Bush need any help doing that? He’s doing fine by himself.
Also, Richard Clarke says the NIE is “pure pablum,” hides the truth. “Al Qaeda is back and has operations underway.”
Speaking of Bushie traitors, Bob Novak says that women are the worst anti-Bushies ever!
Of course, Novak “isn’t trying to be sexist.” [It comes naturally to him!]
Oh, Oh, just found this: I think this is Larry’s neighbor, once again… better get busy Larry, he needs some help again… no doubt 110 mins with the Shrub would make anyone crazy… but you really should do something about getting rid of the trash in your neighborhood…/a>
PrchrLady,
Your link works fine.

wish I could figure all this out… sorry about link, will try again…
Roosevelt kicked Hitler’s ass, the Japanese ass, and Mussolini’s ass in less time then it’s taken to wage Bushie’s war against…whom? The Iraqis?.
he received serious assistance in those enterprise from on Jos Stalin, if you will recall. if hitler hadnt invaded russia, the allies would probably have to have used the A-bomb in europe to defeat the germans, if they had lasted long enough to develop it…
Beat them, for LESS MONEY, AND invented nukes, AND didn’t feel the need to lie about the war OR cut taxes, OR torture, (though we did illegally detain), AND rebuilt the destroyed continent afterwards.
This was a problem for Mussolini’s lieutenants as well. They would just about have him convinced that the war was lost and that Italy was on its last legs, when Mussolini would go off to see Hitler. After being subjected to a couple of days of Der Fuhrer’s monologues Mussolini would come back optimistic again. He claimed his visits with Hitler were “like taking a bath in steel.” He would always return to Italy with his brain throroughly washed. Of course that didn’t change the unpleasant fact that the Italian people desperately wanted out of the war.
What’s your take on the NY Sun claiming the NIE says Iran is a haven for Al Qaeda leadership.
Another diversionary, neocon tactic, IMHO…
I think the author of the report was Captain Obvious with statements like this:
Pr’haps I missed something, but there doesn’t appear to be a there there. Is there pertinent information in those seven pages?
The Peter Galbraith piece in NYRB is direct and well worth the vitriol . Listening to O’Hanlon, Korb et al on C-Span yesterday the explanation of the need for ’separate’ funding for withdrawal with the likelyhood that cross-border leeching will make ’soft-partition’ another lengthy process - I would be interested in hearing Larry’s reaction to this somewhat blurry operation - can anyone guarantee the integrity of borders ??- to protect the surrounding countries from infiltration ??. Probably not even the iranians .The final impression was that the US could not leave nor could it stay ?? Check mate .
TESTING ONLY. THIS IS ONLY A TEST. Ordered by the Commander in Chief.
testing too….
“I have the tools.”
Indeed he does: Congress, the mass media, and should these entities go wobbly, THE INCIDENT.
Moreover, interpreting the NIE requires a subjunctive. The news will be: Al Qaeda threatens US. Subject Verb Object. The American people do not do subjunctives or dependent clauses, and the lizard brain does not process how and why.
I do not find this terribly surprising, inasmuch as the busheviks never had the slightest, faintest intention of doing anything of the sort. “dead or alive?”
yeah, right…
The way this works is called ‘poisoning the well.’
to wit: because so much previous information of seemingly critical importance has been revealed either to have been good information politiciized for partisan purpose, or just plain lies, and given the difficulty in determining which is which, to say nothing of the occasional glimmers of actual ‘truth’ that sneaks past the censors,
the people completely lose faith in their government and i themselves. At which point they are ripe for the picking by the capitalist/corporatatist/consumerist cabal…an’ quicker than you can say ‘moos-o-leeny,’ the brownshirts gotcha by the short an’ curlies…

No wonder the Bush people have no use for the “intelligence” agencies.
The traitors are these navel-gazing little punks who subvert their own country from the security of a government job.
Cool!
Cool…
Nice
