Sir, I am the author of that Persian post. It is nothing but a Persian translation of your post.

Thank you for reposting Larry’s article. We would all like to know what Iranians think about all of this. Please share with us, if you can.

Comment by Kamangir | 2007-09-07 17:19:17

Sure, I will translate the responses as soon as possible.

Comment by SusanUnPC | 2007-09-07 17:31:31

Thank you so much. We are very upset about all of this, and we are upset for all of you.

Comment by Leslie | 2007-09-07 18:05:39

Yes, Kamangir,
Please do translate the responses for us as soon as you can. As Susan says, we’re all very worried by Bush’s warmongering and threats against Iran. It would be great to hear what Iranians are saying and develop those communication ties, especially if doing so could be used to help prevent more war.

Thank you Kamangir!

It’s hard to believe Bush may attack another country that hasn’t attacked us.

Comment by Shirin | 2007-09-07 21:40:00

Why not, Leslie? He’s already done it twice. It seems to be his specialty.

Gen. Wes Clark has given us a way to speak up about Iran:

– SIgn up and pass it on!

Isn’t he cute? Every time Bush speaks, it’s like he’s delivering a 4th grade book report.

A relative in the states is telling me that Americans are being bombarded 24 hours a day with ads on TV, Radio, Newspaper for Viagra, Vialis and other erectile dysfunction meds. Any thoughts on what’s causing all the inability? The biggest problem here seems to be Ear Wax, for which there is a new product called Audis Spray. It’s really awful when you can’t hear well.

For the record, Kamangir does not blog from Iran, but, at least at the moment, from Canada.

He has an English section to the web page with some interesting things in it, which you can reach by clicking the first green button on the left of the page. The button below that takes you to a photo blog. (I know very little Farsi, but I can read the script on the buttons.)

Oh, come on! OPEC, APEC, Austria, Australia? What’s the difference. What matters is that Bush is kicking Iraqi ass.

You have to admit that he is a classy, sophisticated guy.

YEA!!! He makes me swell up with pride and wanna sing “Via Viagra!” . . . .

Agreed, Shirin…..”classy and sophisticated”…for a dolt!

What an embarrassment! What a villian! What an idiot! How shameful he and Rove were allowed to steal the 2000 and 2004 elections with their tricky “caging” techniques. Rove’s no doubt hard at work on it for 2008.

But oh, that’s right. Doofus and Darth won’t be ALLOWING any election next year. They’ve put in place their right to declare martial law…

….when they bomb — just from the air, of course — Iran.

I doubt even Wes Clark and others’ efforts can stop these maniacs. sigh
They have “decided” to do it before they leave office.

We, the people…..a thing of the past.

Comment by Shirin | 2007-09-07 20:16:16

Sandy, I have come to the conclusion that there is only one way to stop them from starting WW III, and that is impeachment. I don’t see a way to make that happen with this useless Congress, but short of that they are going to do whatever they want to do.

The only other way would be a military coup - not a desirable thing based on my experience - or a popular coup, which also has potential for a very bad outcome. In any case, the chances of either of those things happening are none to less than none.

The bottom line, the United States, and quite possibly the rest of the world too, may be quite, quite screwed.

FYI, on Book TV (C-Span2) this weekend:

Insightful author interviews
Saturday 9 PM, Sunday 6 PM and 9 PM, Monday 12 AM ET

Lt. Col. John Nagl, a veteran of both Operation Desert Storm and the current war in Iraq, helped write The U.S. Army/Marine Corps Counterinsurgency Field Manual, under the guidance of Gen. David Petraeus who is currently leading the “surge” in Iraq. Lt. Col. Nagl talks about the manual with Sean Naylor, senior writer for Army Times and the author of Not a Good Day to Die: The Untold Story of Operation Anaconda.

I can’t help but wonder if Bush was drinking or otherwise substance-abusive during that “Austrian” visit. I can’t recall any other reported encounter when he was so completely embarrassing. Although the published citations from Robert Draper’s new book in which he describes Bush’s eating habits (bread dropping out of his mouth as he talks, etc.)

It seems monstrous that our country and the world goes down to these two deranged know-nothings who are our alleged leaders. But it’s more than them. It’s the whole machine that decided they should be the designated leaders. Remember that the whole punditocracy aligned itself against Al Gore and magnified every idiotic smear that the right wing could manufacture against him. What was the whole concatenation of machinery that led the coup against Gore’s rightful election? The PNAC has been planning these moves for a very long time. The militarization of America has been going on for decades. The web of bases has been growing over the same period. We’re left with this incoherent, deadly, stupid foreign policy, and this equally incoherent alleged leader at the apex of the whole process. It’s like we’re living at the beginning of the Fifth Act of Macbeth, except there’s far more than one person to blame for the whole mess.
