[UPDATE] Someone: Clue in Obama! His Campaign Chair is a Lobbyist.

UPDATE: “Obama campaign repeatedly declines Sunday to explain Obama’s debate denial.” - The Page
ORIGINAL POST: And I thought he was the candidate for change? Mr. “No More Special Interests”? We already have a President who is completely clueless. Why does Senator Obama want to emulate W? Poor Obama is completely out of the loop and doesn’t realize that his New Hampshire campaign chairman is a lobbyist. A big-time lobbyist for the pharmaceutical industry at that.
BELOW, the rest of the story:
Here is the PROOF that Barack Obama’s co-chair is a registered pharmaceutical lobbyist.
From the New York Times’s copy of the debate transcript, here is what Sen. Clinton said to Barack Obama that — as that YouTube video shows you — he responded to by saying “No” and shaking his head:
SEN. CLINTON: … You know, when it comes to lobbyists, you know, Senator Obama’s chair in New Hampshire is a lobbyist. He lobbies for the drug companies. So I think it’s important that all of us be held to the same standards, that we’re all held accountable.
You know, the energy bill that passed in 2005 was larded with all kinds of special interest breaks, giveaways to the oil companies. Senator Obama voted for it. I did not because I knew that it was going to be an absolute nightmare. Now we’re all out on the campaign trail talking about taking the tax subsidies away from the oil companies, some of which were in that 2005 energy bill.
So you know, words are not actions.
And as beautifully presented and passionately felt as they are, they are not action. You know, what we’ve got to do is translate talk into action and feeling into reality. I have a long record of doing that, of taking on the very interests that you have just rightly excoriated because of the overdue influence that they have in our government. And you know, probably nobody up here has been the subject of more incoming fire from the Republicans and the special interests, so I think I know exactly what I’m walking into and I am prepared to take them on.
(Of Note: The NYT transcript failed to note Sen. Obama’s denial, but the YouTube video proves he denied that his New Hampshire co-chair is a big pharma lobbyist.)

Well, either Obama is uninformed about his existing relationship with a lobbyist, or he lied.
Either way, this is damaging to Obama. He’s either lying, or misinformed, and both are terrible qualities in a president.
BTW, it’s interesting to note that the NY Times EXCLUDED Obama’s actual response. You can clearly see in the video that he shakes his head and says “no” when Clinton makes her claim about Jim Demers. This is just another example of MSM giving Obama a free ride. Shameful!
There are so many tie ins between people working in the campaigns, and people overseeing the process it becomes almost impossible to vet everyone out. Just recently the Clinton camp had to give back 800k from the one of their donors Hsu who went to jail.
But that’s the point, SHE GAVE THE MONEY BACK. Demers is still campaign chair.
Obama is not running for president…he’s running for vice-president.
[...] to make matters worse, Obama denied that Demers is a lobbyist. Jesus!! He can’t even lie with panache or creativity. No, wait. He’s looking [...]
Maybe we’ll get a memo from Obama’s campaign saying that shaking your head no means yes.
Remember, Obama is whatever you want him to be.
“He’s all things to all people!”
Obama ‘08
I wondered about this when Obama was shaking his head no.
Perhaps he didn’t know.
If he doesn’t fire him it will tell the tale.
Has Mark Penn been fired yet? I think I asked this before.
[...] is a lobbyist. He responded, “That’s not so,” and shook his head side-to-side. In this post on Johnson’s blog, No Quarter, SusanUnPC links to a New York Times transcript of the debate [...]
How can this information start to become more mainstream? Is there anything I can do? Any of us can do? We all deserve a Presidental that we can really get to know…..FIRST! Right now, it is rather cult like scary. This could be a change alright and a bit worse. Today we had a Navy ship having a rather concerning encouter. And Presdident Bush threathened by Al Quaeda. While i am not a Bush or war supporter…at least I KNOW what path our current President will take. (llike it or not) Who the heck knows about Obama? We know that he has no tangible experience, what is on record is scary, he kept no records to have the public view, we don’t know who is behind the curtain, we know he was a partier and he is still immature or perhaps it is just an arrogant air about him,….how in the world is he going to handle the pressure and prestige of the White House? I am concerned he will go out of control. So there may be change in someways that we don’t need, and any other change? No…looks like lies, cover ups, denials, and lobbyists! Oh wait…I take that back, now the congressmen have to stand up when eating lobbyist lunches! That is calming.
Look…Jim Demers is NOT a “big time lobbyist! He is a registered lobbyist for the state of New Hampshire. He is NOT a Federal lobbyist! There is a distinction. The Washington Post on-line has an article regarding this issue and Senator Obama has also explained it himself.
Hillary started casting stones at Mr. Obama for lobbying interests!? PLEASE! Talk about hypocrisy! She also attacked him for changing from supporting a single payer health system to Universal coverage…well what exactly did SHE do? Does anyone remember the fiasco of the first Bill Clinton term? She was pushing for a national “single-payer” system!!!
Hillary’s attacks are the mark of desperation. She has been bought and paid for so many times that most Rodeo Drive streetwalkers are envious!
Please…find a real issue with which to attack Obama!
