FBI Denies File Exposing Nuclear Secrets Theft

[To click on the countries in the BBC map, go here.]

Following up on Larry’s post two weeks ago about how Sibel Edmonds is finally getting her story out, the Times of London reports today that:

THE FBI has been accused of covering up a key case file detailing evidence against corrupt government officials and their dealings with a network stealing nuclear secrets.

The London Times further reports that an anonymous letter names a high-level US government official who allegedly warned a Turkish member of the nuclear network not to deal with Brewster Jennings.

The anonymous letter names a high-level government official who was allegedly secretly recorded speaking to an official at the Turkish embassy between August and December 2001.

It claims the government official warned a Turkish member of the network that they should not deal with a company called Brewster Jennings because it was a CIA front company investigating the nuclear black market. The official’s warning came two years before Brewster Jennings was publicly outed when one of its staff, Valerie Plame, was revealed to be a CIA agent in a case that became a cause célèbre in the US.

Months ago on this blog, I asked about the damage exposing Brewster Jennings did to the US Intelligence gathering. Remember Novak first outed Valerie Plame and then a week later he came back with another article that SPECIFICALLY outed Brewster-Jennings. I am assuming the B-J was more than just Valerie and some state side document creators. So now we discover that B-J was outed to the Israelis and the Turks months PRIOR to Valerie’s outing.
I believe that this is Treason.
I believe that the gibbet is indicated.
And that explains why this topic will never be included in the US press and why all but two of the candidates will ignore it. They are all honest politicians in the oldest sense of the word. Once bought they stay bought.

It is AMAZING how well this site swallows posts.
Is there a limit to the amount of links that your software allows before it just arbitrarily swallows a post?

CK,
The spam filter messes up sometimes. But I recovered your comment.

Oh dear, will check the spam filter for you again. I think a spam filter red flag is lots of links and little text.

If the person who wrote the anonymous letter is a DeepThroat, what does that make Sibel Edmonds?

It is stunning that the US media is ignoring this.
What would happen if to the US goverment if all was revealed? Would the American people loss any sense of “keeping us safe”?

Again I ask. Who was the last person convicted of treason let alone charged?

Comment by shoephone | 2008-01-20 16:45:04

Tokyo Rose?

Aldrich Ames in 1994? Or, who was that Neocon guy in the Office of Special Plans accused of spying for Israel?

Ames
Hanssen
both convicted of espionage not treason.

Comment by Leslie | 2008-01-21 12:11:38

Wasn’t his bank, believe it was Union Bank, termed treasonous during a time of war? Saw a document somewhere…

Comment by CK | 2008-01-21 12:27:51

His bank traded with the Nazi germany long prior to the declaration of war; it continued to trade with Germany after the declaration. Neither he nor his bank were charged with treason. Hearsay only says that FDR refused to allow the charges to come out during the war because he feared the conscript army would not take it well that the rich would be making profits off the bullets and tanks that were taking the soldiers lives. FDR had good reason to believe this, an insurrection had been planned early in his reign by many of the same corporate owners who continued to trade with Germany after the declaration of war.

I answered this yesterday, but the posts have disappeared.
The last American convicted of Treason was Mildred Gillars, Axis Sally, in 1949. Sentenced to 30 she served 12
The last American to receive and serve a life sentence for Treason was Robert Henry Best. Also a broadcaster for the Nazis. Convicted in 1948 and died in prison.
Tokyo Rose was convicted of one count in 1949 and pardoned in 1977. She died in 2006.

Comment by Leslie | 2008-01-21 12:12:41

What about the Rosenbergs?

Comment by CK | 2008-01-21 12:22:25

Espionage not treason.
The people they spied for were US allies during the time they did their spying.
Treason is giving aid and material comfort to an active enemy, thus the Tokyo Rose and Axis Sally and Lord HawHaw trials were about treason.

Adam Gadahn ( an american Al-Quaeda ) has been charged in absentia with treason in 2006.
A correction to the previous post Axis Sally ( Mildred Gillars ) was convicted of one count of treason in 1949 and served 12 years, R. H. Best received a life sentence and served it.

Hans Max Haupt is Convicted of Treason

German-born Hans Max Haupt was a naturalized U.S. citizen. His son, Herbert Haupt was among eight men recruited by Germany to sabotage the U.S. war effort in 1942. When Herbert Haupt returns to the United States by German U-Boat, he makes his way to Chicago to live with his parents. Hans Max Haupt is convicted of treason for providing aid and comfort to the enemy by providing shelter for his son,and helping him purchase an automobile and obtain a job. The Supreme Court upholds Haupt’s conviction and he is sentenced to life imprisonment. Herbert Haupt and five of the saboteurs were tried by a military tribunal and executed in 1942. Two others were deported. This marks the first time that the Supreme Court upheld a treason conviction.

CK: Googled a name Yassin Kadi mentioned in one of the links you posted

Kadi’s assets in the U.S. were later frozen by the Treasury Department. Earlier, US Customs agents raided a Massachusetts software company called P-Tech, now called GoAgile. The firm had active contracts with the Federal Aviation Administration, Defense Department, Justice Department, the Secret Service, the White House, and NATO on September 11, 2001. Kadi, who has extensive investments in key NATO ally Turkey, also had a close relationship with Dick Cheney.

Convicted former P-Tech board member Soleiman Biheiri allegedly laundered $3.7 million from a defunct New Jersey investment firm called BMI to a Muslim charity called the SAAR Foundation and on to terrorist groups. SAAR and its principals have been linked to Grover Norquist, a close friend of Karl Rove

I am always skeptical of what I read, yet setting aside the “echo” chamber effect, why does one keep running into names of people, at the very least, joined at the hip?

Comment by CK | 2008-01-20 18:05:14

If I answer your question honestly, I become a conspiracy theorist.
If I ignore your question, I could have a grand career in the MSM.
If I rebut your question, cast aspersions upon you for even asking it, and in general treat you with disdain, I qualify for a job at TNR.
So instead let me point out that the USA has gone to hell in a handbag since it started hiring people with degrees from Yale.

Sorry I asked. LOL
OT :
Larry; anyone ? Is this on point or BS?

Since I was at the link I posted above I was pokin’ around and came across this artical/post By a John H. Richardson regarding US/Iran

As a CIA analyst, Leverett had come to the view that Middle Eastern terrorism was more tactical than religious. Syria wanted the Golan Heights back and didn’t have the military strength to put up a serious fight against Israel, so it relied on “asymmetrical methods.” Accepting this idea meant that nations like Syria weren’t locked in a fanatic mind-set, that they could evolve to use new methods, so Leverett told Powell to seize the moment and draw up a “road map” to peace for the problem countries of the Middle East — expel your terrorist groups and stop trying to develop weapons of mass destruction, and we will take you off the sponsors-of-terrorism list and start a new era of cooperation.

That December, just after the triumph over Afghanistan, Powell took the idea to the White House. The occasion was the regular “deputies meeting” at the Situation Room. Gathered around the table were the deputy secretary of state, the deputy secretary of defense, the deputy director of the CIA, a representative from Vice-President Cheney’s office, and also the deputy national security advisor, Stephen Hadley.

For more on Yassin Kadi and PTech, read this 2-part interview with Indira Singh, starting near the bottom of the first half with the line:

“September 11th I was a senior consultant for JPMorganChase and Risk.”

(Prior to that is her interesting but unrelated account of the time she spent at ground zero doing voluntary EMT work.)

She finishes the interview relating what she learned about PTech while working with them on behalf of JPMorgan.

In the beginning of the interview, Ms. Singh states that on the morning of 9/11 she was running late for a conference at the WTC on risk assessment. More than 100 experts in that field from all over the USA and the world were at the conference. All died.
It is comforting to know that there are no conspiracies, just a never-ending succession of interlocking and convenient co-incidences.
