Hillary Money Bomb!
By Unabashed Dem on February 12, 2008 at 6:47 PM in Economy, Education, Environment, Health Care, Hillary Clinton, Immigration Reform, Women and Children
Today there is a grassroots movement for a Hillary Clinton money bomb to help show Hillary that no matter what, we’re there for her. We need to show the same resolve and resiliency that Hillary has shown all of us. Here are many of the reasons you should donate to Hillary:
- If you want health care coverage for every woman, man and child, then DONATE TO HILLARY!
- If you want to end the war in Iraq in a responsible manner, then DONATE TO HILLARY!
- If you want to strengthen the Middle Class through progressive economic policies, then DONATE TO HILLARY!
- If you want to make college affordable and accessible to everyone, then DONATE TO HILLARY!
- If you want to help avert Global Warming through policies that will find good, clean alternative energy sources, then DONATE TO HILLARY!
- If you want to help promote a livable working wage and job security for our working men and women, then DONATE TO HILLARY!
- If you want to avert disaster in the housing market through reasoned economic policies, then DONATE TO HILLARY!
- If you want to restore America’s standing in the world by electing a respected leader recognized as an agent of change across the world, then DONATE TO HILLARY!
- If you want comprehensive government reform by strengthening whistle blower protections and having greater transparency, then DONATE TO HILLARY!
- If you want to improve our school system by an infusion of funding with better policies to assists our at-risk youth and prevent drop-out rates along with universal pre-K, then DONATE TO HILLARY!
- If you want comprehensive immigration reform that will respect the many men and women who are here without papers, then DONATE TO HILLARY!
- If you long for equal rights for every man, woman and child, regardless of his or her race, ethnicity, national origin, religion or sexual orientation, then DONATE TO HILLARY!
- If you want a person who has made it her life’s work to help bring positive change to our society in ways we couldn’t imagine, then DONATE TO HILLARY!
- If you want to help break the toughest, hardest glass ceiling, then DONATE TO HILLARY!
- If you want all of these things, then you should want HILLARY!
Please DONATE TO HILLARY! and make sure to spread the word and get out and vote. Her voice is our voice - now let the voice of the people be heard!
—————-

A lot of people today are donating $10.44 — with the 44 cents denoting that Hillary would be our 44th president.
If you want a president who couldn’t even be bothered to vote on the most pressing issue facing our country right now; namely turning our country into a police state by allowing the government to spy on us without warrants and with no public recourse to the law, DONATE TO HILLARY!
I came to see if you had anything on the pakistan nuclear scientists gone missing in a destabilized nuclear state. Apparently such issues are still trumped , on this blog, by openly shilling for Fence Sitter Inc.
Don’t know why i bothered.
Larry’s out of pocket but will no doubt have plenty to say about it.
more like off the res. dont worry, i wont be back.
Good.
Feel free to never, ever bother again.
I love how THIS vote is important because Obama was actually there and he didn’t even vote “present” this time.
This vote is important because it affirms the rule of law in this country. This vote is important because approving warrantless wiretapping brings us one step closer to a literal police state. Gets some @#$%ing perspective, man! im not even an Obama supporter. Jesus, you people frighten me.
Stop being ridiculous. People are entitled to different positions. No one wants to shred the Constitution here okay. So stop blowing this out of proportion.
I guess being perfectly willing to stand by and watch as someone else shreds the constitution is just as bad, if not worse, in my book. Thats like seeing someone getting raped in the middle of the street and continuing on to starbucks, cause, hey, its not your problem.
Well said. However; You must include the people who stood around the victim (senate floor) and and took pleasure in watching a horrid affair. (voted for it)? Or had they already been to Star Bucks?
thats the rapist in this metaphor. My real point is this nice sounding quote from a cheesy action movie:
“Of course we must fear evil men, but there is another evil that we must fear more… and that is the indifference of good men”
You are incredibly noble, an incredibly noble man.
thanks!
OT: sarcasm doesn’t come off well in text!
indifference of good men
Now that you put that on the table:
Indifference is not an attribute of a good man or woman. Indifference is the worst of all things “evil” and is a person that ignores human beings freezing without running water in a Chicago winter, claiming ignorance, while those the person associates with profit from it. I see no “good” in that.
keep in mind that i caucused and not for obama! reading comp is not strong suit! for you!
will use small words so you can un-der-stand!
Hey John: I am talking about a point you raised. I don’t give a rats ass who you did or did not caucused for. Period. Your the one who is entitled to free reading comprehension lessons.
Comprehend this, you pea brain.
You are defensive, condesending and frankly unable to comprehend that I may have agreed with a point you where making regarding the disposition of FISA and the Constitution. You read? That is a joke right? This “cheese” quote is well known and a fallacy.
how is it a fallacy? me thinks you don’t know logic very well. Its an opinion not an argument, ergo no fallacy possible.
By the way, this: “Comprehend this, you pea brain,” is nonsensical. You have no “this.”
a “this” is required for the sentence to mean anything. For example: : “By the way, this: ‘Comprehend this, you pea brain.’”
Furthermore, you aren’t talking about a point I raised. I was talking about HRC being indifferent to FISA, you changed the subject with a non sequitur about Obama in Chicago.
“quote from a cheesy action movie”
Next.
I made no inflamatory remarks toward youoriginally. Merely to pointing out how “indifference of good men” is a crooked statement.
How thoughtful of you,John, to respond to my original post which was in reation to your example of Hillary and Fisa, with defensive, condesending crap.
you merely accused me of being an obama flack through inference, like so many of your reading comp. challenged friends. sorry if i took it as insult.
Amen - on the constant PRO Hillary, Anti-Obama website this has become… I miss Larry’s perspective on world afairs and international issues.
As for the next President, I think everyone here is missing the big picture, a “ham-sandwhich” would be better than the president we have now. Any of the candidates (minus Huck) would be an incredible improvement…
Since 18 Democrats crossed over to the dark side for this vote, Hillary couldn’t have turned the tide on this vote, and the numbers were known to the Senate leadership before the vote was taken. Unfortunately, we must now rely on the House to hold the line. Anger should be directed to the lying bastards who promoted this blind and retroactive amnesty, and to Harry Reid, who wasn’t steamrolled, but actually was more than happy to do the dirty work for the Republicans. The timing of the vote was meant to take place during the maximum distraction of the D.C area primaries. Barack was there in D.C. because he knew he had those caucuses in the bag and needed to be available for his victory lap. It certainly would have been nice if Hillary had been there as well, but what was needed more than the presence of Barack and Hillary, was 18 more honest to goodness progressive Democrats, or at least some Chicago style voting to make up for their absence.
what was really needed was for both of them to bring the debate into the national spotlight by publicly decrying it. Something neither of them did.
My point EXACTLY. John Witherspoon
WHY? Obama new it the underlying Bill was going to pass. So did Hillary.
except, a point in Obama’s favor is, he actually bothered to vote on principle anyway. Both candidates promised to back dodd’s amendment, and only one did.
I am a Hillary supporter. I am upset at Hillary for skipping this vote. The destruction of our COnstitution has been all I think about anymore.
I refused to campaign for my congressman in 2006, because he voted in favor of the Military COmmissions Act, even though he voted for many issues that are good for Colorado.
The Constitution matters. Hillary talks about this Administration’s illegal acts. She has an obligation to show up and vote. Obama has been wishy-washy on this, too. I have been aching to see either of these so-called leaders give a speech on restoring the Constitution. Or even make a promise. If they are to be our leaders, they need to start now!
ah … didnt obama miss this vote as well? so why just focus on hillary?
i was giving to the edwards campaign each month … hillary will get my small check every month now.
no, obama voted for the amendment. It’s not about hillary vs obama its about rule of law and civil liberties. get some fucking perspective.
Obama is full of shit.
He would sell his child if it meant securing the Presidency.
Maybe you should work on your “self righteously angry, now we got ‘em” writing technique, your voice is trite.
Obama blows.
Yes, because vague generalizations and extreme, speculative hyperbole are the hallmarks of a great writer such as yourself!
John
Nothing on this blog, just read the Telegraph update, not much more than your brief comment. 2 pakistani nuke scientists kidnapped/gone missing in the Khyber pass. Same place as the Pakistani ambassador to Afghanistant went missing/was kidnapped the other day. Could have been anyone from private thieves, to US special forces, to local anti musharef groups, to A.Q. No one as yet has asked for any ransoms, no one has made any demands that the public is being made aware of. Zip zero zilch and nada.
An update of sorts. Various voices are calling the two abducted people: Nuclear Scientists, technicians, low level geologists, nuke experts,
nuke technicians.
Supposedly within the last few hours, an exchange offer for the Pakistani ambassador has been delivered. Basically a straight up trade, one ambassador for one Taliban commander Mullah Mansoor Dadullah taken captive recently. The two missing “nuclear whatevers” could be pot sweeteners or could be in entirely different hands.
thanks for the update. This doesn’t sound like a great development no matter who took them, but based on location i’d guess it was taliban supporters, which cant be good…
I wish this blog were what it used to be; a frank discussion of foreign policy.
Why do you assume it is important, these two scientists?
I mean, other than to their families, and those of us who respect law and order.
Really, WHY is it of such grave importance?
Do you think all nukes are created equal, setting that bomb off would be that easy, the US that vulnerable?
eh, two nuclear scientists go missing in a destabilized muslim country, probably captured by an al-qeada ally…
No harm no foul, eh.
who cares.
donate to hillary!
Do you think all nukes are created equal,
No, but what is difference when they go off?
setting that bomb off would be that easy?,
If you have the expertise (or abduct it)and the money and the time.
the US that vulnerable?
All due respect Simon, does a dog have fleas?
With the co-opting of law inforcementt functions in this country not only do ‘we’ have to be concerned about external points of entry but the growing possibility of an inside job. Honestly, the DHS gave a pass to thousands of “green” carders without backround checks never mind the recent story of the FBI/cia informant.
We are more vunerable than Oliver Twist at birth ever was.
This does not mean Richard Clarke was running around with “his hair on fire” ’cause he liked it; or his recent op-ed in the Philly Enquirer was satirical. It was not.
Just to clarify the issue a bit, the background checks on the green card applicants will be done, but many green card applicants have experienced delays of several years while waiting for the FBI to complete these clearances, and many are going into Federal Court on Applications for a Writ of Mandamus to get the Court to order the FBI to complete the checks and/or USCIS to make a decision in their case. If the background checks determine that the permanent residency should not have been granted, the permanent residency will be revoked. Many of these delays are the result of faulty and erroneous federal data bases, and some may be caused by the permanent residency applicant having a similar name, birthdate, and/or place of residence or birth as some genuine bad guy, so more in-depth searches and checks are ordered, adding to the delays. People are paying $1010 in filing fees alone for permanent residency applications, so they do have a right to expect some level of efficiency in these adjudications. The USCIS sees this “post-audit” procedures as the price they must pay to keep from having their resources wasted in Federal Court battles, as they have not been able to urge Congress to adequately fund and staff the background checking apparatus run by the FBI.
John, were you ranting when Obama was in NH and didn’t bother to get himself away from campaigning to make his Iran vote? That’s an easier trip - from NH to DC than TX to DC. Were you ranting when Obama was voting “present” in the Illinois legislature on issues concerning abortion and privacy protection for victims of sexual abuse? Obama is the fence-sitter, not Hillary.
I had to come back, just because the stupid here is just too easy - and heartbreaking - not to respond to. IM NOT AN OBAMA SUPPORT YOU MORON!
er
No one cares about Obama, he’s a joke.
Got anything to add about foreign policy?
Apparently more of the country cares about Obama than hillary, but I digress.
Susan, thanks for posting this. I’m so happy for the grassroots push to support Hillary. This country desperately needs her. When the money bomb idea was pushed, I made sure to e-mail about 80 of my friends and texted another 25 or so. I got an overwhelmingly positive response and many said they gave for the first time.
I know Hillary can win this if we all just stay optimistic despite the media’s obsession with Obama. I really hope that this campaign gets back to the issues and away from the horse race that the media loves to obsess at. It is on the issues where Hillary cleans house - which is why the media steers away from them, I’m sure.
That’s so great, Michael. We do have a grassroots movement! My daughter called me tonight, so proud that she’d given $10.44 today. I don’t even know where she heard about it because I hadn’t had a chance to tell her. The WORD is spreading!
I’ve been sending money to Hillary and so has my family. I’m down looking at the Virginia results so far, but looking forward to the March 4th primaries.
We’ve got to turn this around people.
I did! I did! Twice this month.
Thirteen more primaries after today-right?
I didn’t give any money until I heard she needed some. She should have asked sooner.
I will support her through to victory in November.
If you’re giving…
Considering this blog has completely trashed Barack Obama I wonder what exactly you all are going to write about after March considering that your candidate is sinking faster than the Titanic and with groups previously thought to be her domain? More importantly who are you going to vote for in November?
One small factoid that the media never seems to raise. Bill Clinton never got anyone elected other than himself. So why should his wife be any different?
Guess you haven’t bothered to look at the lastest Ohio poll. I don’t expect an Obama person to bother with facts so I’m not surprised.
I don’t know what you’re smoking, but Bill Clinton has helped scores of Democrats across the country get elected. He has raised hundreds of millions for Dems. I realize Obama likes to rewrite history at will, but sheesh, don’t embarrass yourself in public.
BTW, come November, I’m going to vote for Hillary Clinton, the Democratic nominee for president. Simple as that.
I love how it’s not enough for the mainstream media to be for Obama and against Hillary, not enough for Air America to be for Obama and against Hillary, not enough for Moveon.org or DailyKos or HuffingtonPost to be for Obama and Anti-Hillary….nope, dare to have a blog in which some people actually like Hillary and (GASP) criticize Obama, and people will come down hard on you and tell you to knock it off.
Fucking pardon us for not drinking the Kool-aid, ok? The last time I checked, it was still legal to be one of the Unenlightened, yet to drink of the cup of wisdom being passed around by the followers of Saint Barack. If you don’t like it, I just gave you a list of places where you can get all the Pro-Obama, Anti-Hillary crap you want. Get lost.
wow, how liberal of you. zig heil or whatever dude. just remember this site is actually touting a story (the che flag nonsense) that is so odious that no one anywhere near the mainstream of media will touch it. and you call obama supporters (i’m not one, i caucused uncommitted, you blathering fools) vicious. Get a grip!
I can’t tell whether i should have a good belly laugh at you or hang myself in despair. Thats how pathetic your sub-partisan bile is. “Go my team, Rah! rah! rah!”
http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&tab=wn&ned=&q=che+flag&btnG=Search+News
so odious even the NRO pewople are backing away from it!
oh, and dude, you’re mainlining the Kool-Aid.
You can’t even be honest about supporting Obama, what a joke. What are you afraid of?
Oh and don’t worry, the media’s not going to pick on your beloved candidate. Too busy blaming the tides on the Clinton machine.
I think hanging yourself in despair was a good idea. “Zeig Heil or whatever dude”- great poltical commentary there. “Or Whatever Dude”- Obama supporters should put that on a bumper sticker. Advertises your mentality perfectly.
point, set, match as I believe they say in tennis! You just made my point much better than i could have! You are so sub-partisan and vicious you just encouraged someone to, literally, hang themselves on the (false) assumption they are an obama supporter. I dont know if you’ve never been to a caucus or are just to stupid to know what caucusing uncommitted means, but it basically means you don’t like either candidate.
Get a grip on reality, dude, it really exists!
You and susan dont want me to come back, thats so democratic of you! way to really embrace the marketplace of ideas! It sure does take a village! clearly hillary meant a village with lots of pitchforks and torches and stakes to tie witches to.
Oh and by the way, HILLARY LOST IN VIRGINIA NANANANANA NA.
. . . and Maryland . . . and D.C.
And she just did not lose she lost by a very wide margin and with groups who she thought would vote for her.
Her last stand is the Alamo and that didn’t seem to go too well for the folks there.
I would still love to know who these folks are going to vote for when team Hillary folds?
And yet Obama can’t win a real state.
I wonder why?
You’re delusional, not really seeing the big picture here, dude.
Wooly Bully!
ah yes! the “real state” argument. That’s worked great for democrats in the past. See john kerry, al gore, etc.
You fool. I brought it up because the ‘winger blogs are all over it, and I wanted to give people a sampling of the kinds of odious attacks that will be coming at Obama if he’s the nominee. (Then there’s that they had somebody so dumb in the Obama Houston office to put that up … especially knowing a TV crew was coming through. Yikes.)
Back to the main point: Obama has gotten remarkably kid-glove treatment by the MSM, and it’s fallen on the bloggers to point out some of the problems with Obama — a few bloggers who suffer a lot of ugly attacks for doing so. But just WAIT! If he’s the nominee, the attacks will be coming from all directions and be relentless. Worst of all will be the subterranean whispering campaigns against him — the Muslim thing, the flag pin silliness, etc., etc.
I was pointing out what’s to come. You see, the GOP wants him as the nominee so badly because they know they can go after him so easily, and that he’s NEVER faced a tough, brutal on onslaught of attacks in a SINGLE election. Not one!
God, I’ve heard his wife on C-Span talk about the TOUGH U.S. Senate race he endured. Against Alan Keyes? I laugh. She has no idea what’ll be comin’ at him if he’s the nominee.
oh well, at least he’ll be different, however slightly, from mccain. I caucused uncommitted in your lovely city of seattle! I’m so glad i sent you well wishes when you were in the hospital here! I’m not an obama supporter (although i might be now that i’ve gotten a wiff of hillary supporters) so you can let it rest. I think both the obama and hillary camps are wierd, blindly prothier cadidate, nutballs for the most part, and you are doing nothing to prove me wrong!
Oh, that was me, I farted.
Sorry.
“…heard his wife on C-Span talk about the TOUGH U.S. Senate race he endured.
sorry I missed that one. Money was growing on trees with that race; for some folks. On second thought it was more like picking fruit off the ground.
OT: Hope your getting rest when you need it and your feeling on the mend SusanUnPC. I am thinking of starting a “Cut-n-Paste” high school scholarship in your name. Thank you.
Ok, this is also connected to Rezko, I take it?
I was reading about Rezko being out of the country over 20 times between 2004, and 2006, (trips to the Middle East - the govt requested electronic tracking for him, they were concerned) anyway, I thought the dates were a interesting, it might be interesting to see how it connects to Obama’s senate campaign.
Obama saw much of Rezko in 2004, and 2005, an FBI mole, John Thomas, tracked the visits, according to an article in the Chicago Sun-Times.
rezkowatch.com
I’m inferring that when races are not seriously contested it is an easy mark for a “backer” to pickup a senate phone number for an investment without much downside considering Obama inclinations and clientel.
Exactly what contest did Hillary Clinton ever have?
She was forced on the NYS Democratic Party. Everyone set to run to fill Moynihan’s seat ALL stepped aside when the Clintons and McAullife informed them of who their nominee would be.
And then both of here Senate races were against lightweights and were vertually uncontested.
It is a pure myth that Hillary Clinton ever faced a tough brutal campaign. It is a farce to include her husband’s campaigns because she wasn’t running.
Yep…you’re right…it’s really just been a walk in the park for Hillary. The campaign Hillary has run has been against the media, the right wing attack machine and her opponents - all of them against one woman, and SHE WON!
Well said, Michael.
You make this up as you go along?
She had the endorsement of nearly every NY newspaper and media outlet for both of her races.
So enough of this BS myth Clinton has you idiots believing.
You using the word idiot is pretty damned rich. Your usual m.o. is to utter untruths and then pitch a hissy fit/tirade when you’re called out on it. Just an observation - you actually come across more as an ‘apologist/scrotum scrubber for Bush’ type - that has branched out into other areas.
There was no second race. Certainly not in a competetive sense.
Perhaps you should also shy away from using idiot to describe someone other than yourself…
you might want to find yerself a verb there!

Oh no, no, no one would dare.
When it comes to pedantic, trite bullshit, you’re king.
That comment is laughable. Where were you?
Hmmm, I don’t recall Giuliani or Lazio suffering from a lack of funding. Stopping Hillary was a priority. It wasn’t hard for the rightwing machine to raise funds against a Clinton.
And supposed libs such as NYT’s Rich or Dowd have never hid their contempt and hatred of Bill, Hillary or Al Gore. The WSJ didn’t oppose her?
Let’s just start with Hillary’s being a lifelong Cubs fan and a Yankees fan. It was mocked and ridiculed as if it couldn’t possibly be true. It is true. Many of us National League fans loved the Yanks. Sure if you’re a Red Sox fan you hated the Yankees. And Cubs fans are not White Sox fans. Somehow the all wise Clinton hating scribes couldn’t wrap their all knowing heads around that one. Let’s go back down memory lane, via the venerable Bob Somerby,
shall we?
Steve Roberts knew the Official Approved Soundbite. He was offering up, for the three millionth time, the old saw about Hill and the Yanks. Mrs. Clinton had done a slide show at a dinner; in every picture, she wore a dubbed-in Yankees cap. To judge from the tape, it got a good laugh. But as usual, a pundit knew better:
CNN 6/11/2000
To be fair, we note that Roberts had all the Putdowns in place. Mrs. Clinton likes to pander. Rick Lazio? Just a warm pup.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There’s a WaPo article from 1994 that blows this crap out of the water further in the Somerby piece and substantiates her being a Yanks fan, Mantle in particular..
cont’d
There’s quite a bit more, you can find it if you want to take the time however it undercuts your belief system. This is one example.
I know you don’t really believe that Obama’s run against Keyes was a bigger target by the rightwingers than Hillary. Getting blog support from Freepers or LGF, etc., is a far cry from serious funding via Scaife & Co Clinton hate machine.
After all she deserved to be hated, she had proposed - gasp - health care.
Apples and Oranges.
Just stick to her runs for Senate. You did not get a single negative word from Dowd or Rich during those runs - or from any NY newspaper except the NY Post.
Giuliani dropped out of the race early because of cancer. Lazio was a lightweight with zero name recognition and with no time to campaign.
This last run, even I can’t recall who she ran against.
So this myth about her having it so tough, being battled tested is pure BS unless she uses her husband’s campaigns which is ridiculous.
Interesting.
I see your point, good to know.
Thanks for your input.
We certainly won’t be writing about you that’s for sure.
Wow! You got me there.
Wow. You really got me there.
serious F’n oh noes!
WHAT a mind you have!
Tell me, where were you trained, or schooled, such a fluid author of astounding logic you are, a mind I can only hope to understand.
Really, where did you go to school?
wow, you wrote a complete sentence! Congrats, man!
You got anything other than ad hominem attacks?
I’ll just assume you are still in the 4th grade, therefore, it would be rude of me, as an adult, to engage you further. Keep up the good work, though. When you’re older, you might understand grown up talk…
wicked awesome!
You’re missing it, Obama is a joke, I don’t take him seriously, he is as worthless as Bush, as threatening as Cheney — he is just not a player.
His tactics, his relationships to Rezko and Auchi are reprehensible, he’s knowingly selling shit to the public, fanbois are defending an unworthy, tainted candidate, manipulated, or just stupid, and he should, and will be, exposed.
But he’s not taken seriously, you’re kidding, right?
I like how you keep calling other people on here idiots! I hope you realize, eventually, that you just wrote a six line post without a single, actual sentence. Seriously, you just failed sixth grade grammar.
Hi everybody. I’m new to this blog but Susan knows me. I donated today and I’m trying to keep a positive attitude.
