“Obama Bagman” in Jail [UPDATED]

An undeclared $3.5 million (£1.8 million) payment from a corrupt Iraqi-British businessman has landed Barack Obama’s former fundraiser behind bars.
The payment, disclosed in court papers, is the first time that Mr Obama’s long-serving bagman Antoin “Tony” Rezko, a Syrian immigrant to the United States, has been linked to Nadhmi Auchi, the Iraqi-born billionaire who is one of Britain’s richest men. The relationship is a potential embarrassment for Mr Obama, who has made his opposition to the Iraq war a central plank of his campaign.
Court papers describe Mr Rezko as a close friend of Mr Auchi. The two are involved in a large Chicago land development together. But it is unclear how long the two men have known each other or whether they were linked before the 2003 Iraq war. Neither side would discuss their relationship.
The Times has, however, discovered state documents in Illinois recording that Fintrade Services, a Panamanian company, lent money to Mr Obama’s fundraiser in May 2005.
As you’ll recall, Larry Johnson wrote an article — “Will Rezko Blow Up Obama?” — about another item in the same Times article today: “According to prosecution documents Mr Rezko tried to persuade unnamed Illinois officials to help Mr Auchi to get a US visa after he was convicted of fraud in France. Mr Obama’s aides deny that he was approached.” Today, Larry received a letter from Mr. Auchi’s solicitor:

Dear Ms. Guiney,
For the record, can you please explain why Mr. Auchi allowed the substantial sum of money to be wired to Mr. Rezko? Also, would you please explain under what circumstances they became business partners and what the nature of that business was? It strikes me odd that someone of Mr. Auchi’s wealth would want to get in bed with someone like Mr. Rezko. Seems to defy commonsense.
Also, I have been told that your firm has had contact with a person or persons connected to Senator Barack Obama. Is that true?

Don’t look for this story on CNN, MSNBC, or any other tv news outlet, not even Fox, until after the convention if Obama is the nominee. Don’t listen for it on Air Obama radio- you won’t hear Bill Press or Randi Rhodes or Rachel Maddow touch this with a ten-foot pole. Don’t listen for it on Ed Schultz’s three-hour-per-day commercial for Obama. And don’t look for it on HuffPo, MoveOn, or DailyKos.
Now, if one of HILLARY’S biggest supporters goes to jail, THAT will be news. BIG news. HUGE news. News capable of swallowing up entire news cycles. News leading inevitably to “she should withdraw” stories and editorials. News told to us with the undeniable air of “well, gee, are we REALLY surprised?”
But watch and listen how this elicits a big yawn from the Obama-adoring, Clinton-hating media.

Hsu was a big donor to a lot of Dems, Obama included, but there is no indication that Hillary ever had any person dealings with him. Bringing him up is just a red herring to distract from the very real issue of Obama staying close to and accepting favors from a man he knows is under investigation for corruption. Obama used to call Rezko his “political godfather”. Now he is just “a person I know”.
Obama criticises Hillary for poor judgement. He should look in the mirror.
RezkoWatch received a similar letter on February 9, 2008. Looks like Auchi is doing a whole lot of Rezko damage control.

Remember the movie, “Kurtlar Vadisi-Irak” (”Valley of the Wolves - Iraq”), the anti-Semitic, anti-American Turkish film starring Gary Busey and Billy Zane? As I wrote, in accordance to the old anti-Semitic canard, the movie portrays Jewish American doctors as forcibly harvesting organs from Muslims to give them to Jews. It also portrays American soldiers as blood-lusty, deliberate murderers of Muslims. Busey played the Jewish doctor and Zane played the American soldier.
Well, Gateway Pundit reports that the Mehmet Celebi, the anti-Semitic Turkish nationalist who made “Kurtlar Vadisi” is not only a Hillary Rodham Cankles Clinton fundraiser, but has been appointed as one of her delegates. The UK’s Times has already run three bombshell articles on the nuclear black market element in the case of former FBI translator Sibel Edmonds this year, and we are expecting more fallout in the near future as new evidence and witnesses come forward.
In the meantime, another important angle to Edmonds’ case has opened up. Earlier this week, the New York Post ran a Page 6 piece, ODD FILM BY HILLARY BACKER, which highlights the close relationship between Hillary Clinton and Chicago-based Turkish businessman Mehmet Celebi.
Celebi, “one of the national leaders of the Turkish-American community in the US,” is a key fundraiser for Clinton, and is one of Clinton’s Chicago delegates to the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Celebi was also heavily involved in the controversial 2006 movie “Valley of the Wolves: Iraq” which has been widely regarded as “anti-Semitic, anti-American, conspiratorial agitprop.”
Mehmet Celebi is also a key figure in the Sibel Edmonds case - he is heavily involved in the narcotics trade in the US and the corruption and bribery of high-level US officials.
