There’s an excellent top-recommended diary at MyDD: “Obama camp needs to apologize to Clinton over Photo.”
The photo was scanned from an early February National Enquirer by a freeper at Free Republic, and e-mailed to Matt Drudge on SATURDAY. I saw it linked at numerous conservative blogs via Memeorandum.com on SUNDAY. Drudge is in on the Rove playbook to denigrate Hillary and promote Obama because the GOP wants to face him in the general selection so he sat on the photo until Monday morning when he could “spin” it as coming from Hillary’s camp, which it did not.
This is a non-issue for Sen. Clinton. But MSNBC is treating it as if it were fact that it comes from Sen. Clinton’s campaign. Even Bob Shrum — who probably wants a job with the Obama campaign — was on MSNBC this morning promoting it as coming from Clinton.
Do any of those pundits ever mention it was published in a tabloid sold NATIONWIDE in supermarkets and drug stores and convenience stores? That millions of Americans had already purchased that magazine and seen that photo? Do they ever mention any of that? No — they just speculate about it coming from Clinton’s campaign.
Who can prevail against such inanity? And, really, against such cruelly biased venality?
Who can survive when all kinds of dubious and troubling associations are given a free pass — from Antoin Rezko to William Ayers? When Bob Shrum stabs you in the back just to get a favorable “view” for the other guy’s campaign?

Lastly, I finally read the 2001 New York Times article on Bill Ayers’ unrepentant career as a terrorist, “No Regrets for a Love Of Explosives; In a Memoir of Sorts, a War Protester Talks of Life With the Weathermen.”
In that absorbing article, Ayers quotes from a favorite poem:

After this primary season I probably won’t be voting for ANY democratic candidate because democrats are not serious about their agenda. They just want to say they are actually more moral than the republicans when in fact they’ve had massive majorities in both houses, the supreme court and occassionally with the white house to boot and they didn’t do what they said they would. Look at what happened to the Carter presidency and then look what happened when Reagan and Bush were in office, massive debts, corporate welfare, jobs sent overseas, entire industries closed down, and the list goes on and on. And in Clinton’s first 2 years we had both houses and couldn’t get health care or any real progressive agenda through. As Bill Parcells would say: democrats just pay lip service to their agenda. I’m looking for a viable alternative at this point.

They SAY they are Obama followers. They say so in the examples I give, and in the links I provide for each instance.
There is a widespread pattern of ugly behavior by Obama followers — including incessant vicious attacks on all who support Hillary Clinton. Civility is out the window. Maturity is absent. It is so pervasive — and so cult-ish — that it requires intervention by the campaign to end it.
And if Clinton supporters were behaving similarly, the MSM would be all over it. I’m sure there are incidents of ugly racism.
Here at NoQuarter, we have done our very best to stop it. We’ve asked people not to refer to Obama by his full name because we sense it’s an attempt (because accompanying comments verify it) to paint him as a, gasp, Muslim.
We are highly critical of his candidacy and his qualifications and some of his associations. But we refuse to get into smearing him … it’s repugnant to us. And we won’t allow it from any of our participants. In “progressive” organizations I’ve been in for the last 2 decades, I was surrounded by a wide variety of folks who acted very hateful to others. Those who were my friends that engaged in lies to destroy someone they objected to became my responsibility, even if I didn’t endorse them.
The fact that I didn’t say it was irrelevant. I was held accountable for my peers or people who were influenced by my actions.
You have improperly assumed that this is about some alleged support I have for Clinton that I don’t have for Obama. This is a red herring. The issue is that Obama has claimed he’s going to reform Washington’s “politics of destruction” and that he doesn’t support attacking.

Fair point, but lets look at all the women that have not stood by her. I have always promoted the point in public and at work that if you are qualified, you have a fair shot, race or gender. Now I knew that was not true, but I tried to make it so.
I am retired now, so I do not have as much contact with people. However when I hear a female complain about the glass ceilings, I am going to ask how they voted in the primaries. If they did not vote for Hillary, I have the comment, you did not stick up for your gender for Hillary, why should I for you. If they say they voted for a minority, then my answer is: choices have consequences. The real issue here is qualifications. She is and he is not. Period!

An unbelievable amount of woman hate has come out in this campaign. I have been active in the feminist movement at different times during my life yet after all of that, I still didn’t know there was near this level of it.
This is how some of his supporters think and talk, though. We have all seen it on some of the most popular supposedly liberal blogs on the net and in the media, lately. One of the most disappointing developments that i have seen also associated with his supporters is that the some of the young people coming up in their twenties and older, have no concept of what came before them and the struggles that played out in the past to get them where they are today, whether it is in the area of civil rights for people of color or women, they have no appreciation of what people have fought for and the respect we had hoped to bring to the world for people. They want to jump to the head of the line pushing everyone else out of the way and trample them in the process. They think they are the first group of people ever fighting for change. They take their situations for granted and could care less about anything like respect for women, older people, previous democratic activists or whatever. They feel fine about trampling all in their efforts to bring about benefits in their own lives for themselves. It is selfishness and instant gratification that brings this on. Their parents failed miserably in passing on a little bit of respect and humanity. I fear that these are the people pushing Obama on us, and what does that say about him along with it. How is it that he is attractive to this kind of person?

I hope McCain makes a point of this and I’ve already seen him start to do so.

Sometimes I feel as though I am the only one noticing this about this new generation, and then I feel old like maybe this is the way everyone feels when they get older, and I am only 51, it’s not like I’m 80 or something. Like a curmudgeon. But it is so blatently narcisstic, and i don’t remember being this bold and selfish when I was in my twenties. I would have liked to see the 60 mins program. When was that on?
Don’t mistake hatred for Clinton as anti-woman hate. Hillary has a lot of blunders lies and mistakes to answer for. And every time she is questioned about it she claims media bias or that she is unfairly attacked. It’s pissing people off. And rightly so. Her petty and disgusting campaign tactics have earned her the bad names. Sorry you don’t like it but it is the nature of the beast. Hillary needs to stop pretending she is a weak woman and get real. She needs to stop these menopausal like attacks and stick to the facts.
I defy anyone of you that claim sexism on this campaign to find anything said about Hillary Clinton that is more serious that people saying Barack Obama could be assassinated id he gets elected.

Beware of “false flag” operations potentially being run by our friends the Republicans. They are QUITE capable of exacerbating the high emotions of this primary season through dirty tricks; i.e., by planting horrible racist and sexist bile on the web and trying to leave the impression that these are legitimate expressions of those from EITHER the Clinton or Obama camps. Please remember that whatever the ultimate outcome of the primary season for the Democrats, the real adversary will be the one with the (R) after their name. This nation must not have another Right Wing Nutbag for its president.
My preferred candidates are no longer in the running, but I can see what I will need to do come November. Don’t let Republican dirty tricksters sowing dissension in the Democrats’ ranks (or the actions of extremist partisans for either Obama or Clinton) suppress the votes needed to assure a Democratic victory. Remember, you’ve seen the expertise in vote suppression, voter caging and outright election fraud of which the Republicans are capable. Before you hand them an easy victory, make sure that you really know the facts about the origin of this provocative crap before it determines your willingness to vote for “the other guy or gal” if your preferred candidate loses. You must know how crucial the votes of women will be towards a Democratic victory, yes? So ask yourself, like the ancient Romans used to do,CUI BONO, who profits from this dissension? If women are convinced that candidate Obama associates himself with these sexist abominations, and are discouraged from voting for him (should he be the nominee), the beneficiaries are clearly the Republicans. And by the same token, any racist abominations, supposedly originating with the Clinton partisans, might have the same vote-suppressing effect with black voters and Obama partisans in general.

Nominating Obama is going to be one of the biggest mistakes that the Democratic party will ever make. His nomination virtually insures the Republicans holding on to the White House. And, if by some slim chance, Obama makes it to the Oval Office, the Republicans it congress and the neo-cons who control the MSM will shred him. This has all the earmarks for a disaster for this country. I am sick at heart watching this. I am sick at the pass on the misogynistic reporting, blogging, buttons, tee-shirts. I am sick of the accusations by the Obama camp that Clinton camp is “attacking” but gets a pass when they do the same. I am sick and I have to turn away. It is out of my hands and I feel hopeless.
Did you notice the other week when Hillary was challenging Obama to debates in Wisconsin - headlines all over the place said “Hillary Goes ALL OUT Negative” - the meat of the story was she challenged him to debates, then ran ads that he wouldn’t debate.
The only positive of this is after Hillary loses, some will see how irrational their Hillary hatred was.

Seriously folks, what is everyone really going to do now that the Democratic Party has dissed us big time? I have voted in EVERY election and primary since I came of age. I have voted absentee. But I have decided not to vote in Nov. I’m an AA Hillary supporter who had planned to support the nominee in the end. In 2004, I forced myself to back John Kerry, that wind-surfing dweeb who I knew would not make a particularly good president. For the sake of “unity” and because the fear of Bush was so overpowering.
It’s gotten silly. It’s irrational. I’ve never gotten the “vote a straight ticket” thing because it’s an unthinking act, and because at least in my state we’ve had some great Republicans, including governors. For a while, I’ve done it because I felt we needed to take the country in a different direction. But Obama will sell us all down the river by compromising on Social Security, Medicare, etc., along with his CONSERVATIVE economic advisers.
(And I have zero guilt about it — in my state, my vote probably won’t matter anyway. Unless the conservatives in this state come out in droves for McCain. But I WILL (!) support the state Dem candidates I favor — and I will work hard for them. Because I know they’re good. It’ll help me get through the coming months.)

I got an email today from students of Professor John Witherspoon, dean of the School of Political Bullshit. They felt really cheated to have spent so many hours attempting to get a job with their new degree. Every time they went to get a job in a campaign, the staffers would interview them to understand their political accumen. They would respond with their fine education and the staffers ended up laughing their asses off at them.
Feeling had, they want their fucking money back. But since the Political School of Fantastic Shit had closed shop and moved along like a bad telemarketting company, they are up shit creek without a paddle.
