Mr. Clean Gets His Hands Dirty

I listened in on the press conference call this afternoon and Hillary’s team talked about the recent stream of personal attacks and distractions that have been tossed out by Sen. Obama’s team - from circulating a picture of Wright with President Clinton just 48 hours after making his famous speech (as if that one handshake would be the same as his own 20 year relationship with Wright) to jumping all over some comments Bill had made recently in North Carolina.

Let’s take a look at what Bill said, shall we?

Now sadly, BO’s playing the victim here - again.  Even though Bill never once mentioned his name in that part of his talk, this is (as usual) all about him.  Suddenly, this is being twisted into something it’s not - an attack on Obama’s patriotism. My goodness but he’ll try to use anything to deflect attention from his troubles this week won’t he?

Now here’s what one of BO’s surrogates had to say about Bill’s remarks.  First Read has some of what McPeak said about Bill here…

Source

“I think it’s horrible. I’m really disappointed because I worked for President Clinton, you know?” McPeak said when asked by reporters.

“We know Barack Obama don’t we? Do we think Barack Obama loves America? Is this stupid or what?” he demanded of the press surrounding him.

“It sounds more like McCarthy. I grew up, I was going to college when Joe
McCarthy was accusing good Americans of being traitors, so I’ve had enough of it,” he added.

He then goes on to remind reporters of another time BO’s campaign went after Bill and twisted his words around into something they aren’t.

Take a look at what Hillary’s campaign put up on Fact Hub in response to this desperate attempt to divert attention from BO to Bill…

Fact Check: What Bill Clinton Said In Charlotte
3/21/2008 7:58:36 PM

Some are suggesting that the following remark by President Clinton was intended as a personal attack:

I think it would be a great thing if we had an election year where you had two people who loved this country and were devoted to the interest of this country and people could actually ask themselves who is right on these issues, instead of all this other stuff that always seems to intrude itself on our politics.

Actually, as is indicated by the quote itself, President Clinton was talking about the need to talk about issues, rather than falsely questioning any candidate’s patriotism.

He was lamenting that these kind of distractions “always seems to intrude” on political campaigns. This is consistent with his criticism of the “politics of personal destruction,” which dates back 16 years.

I mean really… First they call him a racist and now they’re comparing him to McCarthy.

This is President Bill Clinton we’re talking about here - right?

To borrow a few of Bill’s words… GIVE - ME - A - BREAK!

I think Howard Wolfson - Hillary’s Communications Director responds to this BS best…

RE: Bill Clinton = Joe McCarthy?!

Recent attacks by Obama Campaign surrogate General Merrill McPeak comparing Bill Clinton to Joe McCarthy are outraegous and divisive, but not surprising.  They are in keeping with the Obama campaign’s daily attacks on Senator Clinton’s character in starkly personal terms.

Suggestions by the Obama campaign that Bill Clinton was questioning Barack Obama’s patriotism are equally irresponsible and incorrect.  In discussing a possible Clinton-McCain race, the former President said: “I think it would be a great thing if we had an election year where you had two people who loved this country and were devoted to the interest of this country and people could actually ask themselves who is right on these issues, instead of all this other stuff that always seems to intrude itself on our politics.”

We can not imagine that the Obama Campaign really believes that the comments above were an attack on Senator Obama in any way; rather their attempt to cast the comments in that light are nothing more than a transparent attempt to shift the media’s focus away from his recent troubles (FactHub).

Of course, this is not the first time in this campaign that General McPeak has engaged in personal attacks.  On February 2, General McPeak was forced to apologize for remarks he made about Senator Clinton ( L.A. Times).

Many Americans were taken with Senator Obama’s call this past week to engage in a high minded debate.  Now, just days later, his campaign is comparing Bill Clinton to Joe McCarthy.

Hat tip to eRiposte over at the Left Coaster for finding this quote by Kathleen Parker - who was present when Bill made the comments at issue here, and she says McPeak’s accusations are rubbish.  Take a look…

In no way did I interpret Clinton’s remarks as questioning Obama’s patriotism. Clinton was making the case for his wife’s electability against McCain, who last time I checked is the presumptive Republican nominee and her challenger should she win the Democratic nomination. He may have intentionally bypassed Obama in his leap to match Hillary against McCain, but he didn’t say anything that could be construed as questioning Obama’s patriotism. The sequence went as follows: He noted that Hillary polls ahead of McCain in Ohio and Florida and also that McCain leads “Hillary’s opponent” (I quit typing here and don’t recall exactly which states he mentioned in that part of his comment.) His point, obviously, was that Hillary should be the nominee and, in that case, she and McCain would face each other in the final contest.

This was toward the end of his talk, which focused on Iraq and the economy. Obama was no longer on the radar at this point.

These comments claiming Bill’s the modern day equivalent of McCarthy are bad enough but it isn’t really the point of my post tonight.

This latest load of manufactured outrage on BO’s part has little or nothing to do with Bill Clinton, and everything to do with his attempts to distract our attention from his rotten to the core week.

First the news hits (with video) of his longtime friendship with his pastor (Wright), and a speech that was supposed to make it all go away but didn’t.

Then we watch as BO sits on his hands as hopes of a new vote in Michigan and Florida evaporate, in effect disenfranchising some 2 million Democrats in this election.

Then two days after his big speech where he calls for folks to heal and move past it all, he circulated a picture of Bill shaking hands at a prayer breakfast 10 years, in some lame effort to convince us that that 10 year old picture of a single handshake equals his own 20 year relationship with Wright.

And in the last day or two, we’ve seen BO and his minions make demands that Hillary drop out of this race altogether in an effort to avoid facing her in a real and fair contest come convention time, which (if she complied with their demands) would disenfranchise millions and millions more Democrats in the states that have yet to vote in their upcoming primaries.

And now this.

Now, usually BO gets his pals and surrogates to go on the attack while he’s nowhere to be seen - in another state or whatever but in this case, he’s standing right on stage with McPeake as he goes after Bill on these trumped up charges of McCarthyism - right next to the guy for crying out loud as he twists Bills words into something they’re not.

McPeak attacks Bill at one of BO’s campaign events, while BO stands beside him arms folded and lookin’ all serious and - well like he’s ashamed to be a party to these lies and distortions about a good and decent guy like President Bill Clinton.

His silence speaks volumes no?

So much for wanting to change the way we do politics eh?  Mr. Clean’s gone and gotten his hands dirty - again.

(THANK YOU to C.S. for the last video.)

McPeak had sexual scandal and Bill asked him to leave his post. I think McPeak is still holding grudge against Bill.

Honestly, Obama wants to take every sound bite and twist it to play victim. He always targets the typical white man Bill Clinton.

Oh, do tell…what sexual scandal?

Let’s Google McPeak.

Look at McPeak’s thinking as exemplified by his statements.

Now you know why that type of Pentagon guy can’t win a war.

He was Air Force, right?

BTW, IMO, there are commanders who can do the job.

Just not the McPeak types…

Bullies always play the victim. That’s how they justify their bad behavior. If they hurl enough accusations the way of those whom they want to bully, then can eventually justify whatever misdeed they’ve inflicted. I used to volunteer at the school playground one day a week. I met several little Barry’s when I did that.

He really is the Eddie Haskell candidate. He’s so sweet and goopy and well mannered, and then behind the scenes, he’s a velociraptor with a strategist.

Comment by Shainzona | 2008-03-22 22:32:41

Wow! Ed Haskell. Good comparison!

Beauty is only skin deep! (OK, I know I will be called a racist for the comment…but it was NOT intended that way!)

(OK, I know I will be called a racist for the comment…but it was NOT intended that way!)

And if Obama is the candidate and then President be prepared to have to repeat those words nearly every time you open your mouth. In fact we may all have to have them tattooed on our foreheads.

“I did not mean what I said to be racist Comment”

Come on people, the racist is Obama. He’s using the black vote for his benefit while throwing the white side of his family under the bus. That is using race in a way that’s as ugly as most racist comments are.

OK, I know I will now be called racist for this comment and I quite personally don’t give a damn. I am sick to death of all the PC pinheads that find racism in every word anyone says.

To me racism has always been about thinking for some reason that someone is less or more based on their race. I don’t think Obama is a skunk cause of the color of his skin. I think he’s a skunk cause of the color of his heart and ethics.

That is a great analogy. Eddie Haskell. We should all use this term. It is truly apt.

Both of the Obamas are unpatriotic racist opportunists who I will never forgive for attacking President Bill Clinton.

Comment by Shainzona | 2008-03-22 22:03:51

Doesn’t it just amaze you?

I truly believe that the Obamas are such frauds that they patterned themselves after Bill and Hillary’s successes in the ’90s. Such hypocrites!!!

When Clinton left office, a majority of voters wanted to elect him to a third term - despite Monica.

And now they make the two of them out to be racists. Unbelievable!

Comment by norrismorris | 2008-03-23 00:16:33

It’s called racism and slander. Mr truth is deplorable.

Comment by John | 2008-03-22 22:05:03

God what a whiny prick Obama has proven himself to be this campaign season. I think if Bill Clinton sneezed, Obama’s campaign would claim it was a racist attack on the Senator.

The Obama camp needs to grow the hell up and to get the hell over itself already. Barack has got to stop reacting like this every time the Clinton campaign has the audacity to suggest she’s the best candidate for the Presidency. Sorry, but this is getting really, really old.

Comment by apishapa | 2008-03-22 22:33:48

If Obama said the sky was green and Hillary said no it’s blue. Obama would accuse her of racism against because we all know calling the sky blue is code for racism.

Tweety would be all aflutter over Hillary’s personal attacks on Obama and Olberman would have a “Special Moment” to condemn Hillary for calling Barack the N-word.

another great fleaflicker comment.

McPeak also is a burnt out unimportant military troll that Obama has been using as an advisor.

Hard to believe, and I can just see those believing people in Oregon really thinking this is a distinguished military advisor who has real credibility/

Comment by kenoshaMarge | 2008-03-23 06:17:07

Well Obama can have McPeak since Hillary Clinton has:
General Wesley Clark, Lt. General Joe Ballard, Major General Antonio M. Taguba, Rear Admiral David Stone, Brigadier General John M. Watkins, Jr. and former Secretary of the Army Togo West and a host of others.

Seems funny(not) that the media is all enthused over repeating the words of a man who has reason to dislike the Clintons. (Bill fired him I believe and didn’t that use to be called a conflict of interest before Obama was running?)

The endorsements of the above listed distinguished military personel would seem to trump one McPeak and take the trick.
Not to mention that I think Wes Clark would make one hell of a VP.

Comment by BernieO | 2008-03-23 09:11:32

The campaign is doing a terrible job getting this information out. Why isn’t Clark out there constantly talking her up?

Gloria isn’t it amazing? We are watching the democrats as they are in nuclear meltdown.

This is Dean’s idea of “netroots” along with DKos and the extreme left which have used the delegate math machine to control the nominating process. It’s ugly to watch political suicide.

By the way, I finally got around to checking out the Illinois State Senate schedule. I knew that being an Illinois state senator was a part time job, but even I didn’t realize just how part time it really was. They were meeting, on average, about 75 days out of the year, but out of those 75 days, only about 55 were mandatory attendance. On non-mandatory days, they don’t even take roll call, so you do not know who is there. So the next time someone starts going on about Obama’s legislative experience, please point out that it works out to about 2.5 months of work a year.

Here’s the link to the schedules:
http://www.ilga.gov/house/schedules/default.asp

The “perfunctory days” are the ones that the legislators don’t have to attend.

Comment by Shainzona | 2008-03-22 22:35:36

This deserves a diary! Really!

Comment by Gloria | 2008-03-22 23:10:08

Yes, his schedule in the IL legislature should be spread far and wide!!

Comment by Shainzona | 2008-03-22 22:36:44

Was Barry working for his law firm/Rezko while he was a State Senator?

Really, that’s amazing and something I don’t think voters know.

Comment by Lorelynn Subscribed to comments via email | 2008-03-22 23:22:56

I knew it was part time, but didn’t realize how part time it was. I looked it up tonight because of a post I was doing somewhere fairly anonymous and was amazed. I posted it here so that people could find it and use it.

I’ve got my writing schedule full with another project but anyone who wants to take it and run with it, be my guest.

We are looking at a Democratic front runner, who has barely put in five years of full time legislative work and has no executive experience whatsoever.

Lorelynn,

thanks so much for this link to illinois senate info. I am sending it around. Now if only we can find out what he is trying to hide when Chicago Suntimes asked for his voting record and notes, and Obama said, “I never thought it would be of any importance, and it’s too costly to retrieve this now, and would take too long”.This was about time he went to US Senate.

Really.

I have a quick question for anyone out there to answer- since Obama has the nomination “all wrapped up” and Hillary has “no chance to win,” WHY is Obama campaigning as if he has to destroy Hillary in order to be the Democratic nominee?

I have never seen a huge frontrunner, obvious, all-but-crowned presumptive nominee act and campaign this way. I HAVE, however, seen a lot of desperate, dying candidates campaign EXACTLY like this.

Unless Obama thinks his victory is not complete unless he completely destroys Hillary Clinton’s career (not going to happen,) why is he doing this?

And this question goes to Randi Rhodes, Rachel Maddow, Keith Olbermann, and all the rest: If Obama has this thing won, what are you accomplishing with all this vitriol? Why isn’t your candidate talking exclusively about McCain nowadays?

Why is your candidate acting like the nomination is slipping away and his opponent must be annihilated by any means possible?

Comment by Percy | 2008-03-22 22:40:07

I heard once that it is not enough for Obama to win the nomination over Hillary he has to nullify her.

To add to your list …. if the race were over, the Super Delegates would have all jumped in, placed their votes to Obama….to really show Hillary that it is over.

I think they wanted to after March 4th … yet no way could they end it … it wasn’t close to being over after March 4th.

It won’t be anytime soon.

Comment by Fleaflicker | 2008-03-22 22:49:26

I think that deep down inside Obama knows he is going to lose because of his association with Wright/Farrakhan/Rezko/Ayers and he wants to bloody Hillary up before he has to drop out.

Comment by norrismorris | 2008-03-22 23:58:17

There is a very desperate air of trashing Clinton at all costs, and continually shilling for Obama and consciously producing misinformation.

Rembemer, it was on this MSNBC that Matthews slogged Hillary Hate, and spewed sexist rants at her that brought a huge backlash of criticism. Actually, Schuster was put on suspension for the “pimp” remark about Hillary because Chelsea was speaking for her mom.

Nicky Brezinsky is the daughter of Zybigniew Brezinsky who is Obama’s foreign policy advisor. She is on the air am with Joe Scarborough and lso presides during primary elections.

The fix is in at MSNBC. Zbig is the failed policy advisor of the failed Carter administration who is decidedly Pro Palestine, anti Israel, and an old burnt out Prof.Failed miserably during hostage crisis. Zbig B. is a bellicose, angry man with pretensions, and a resume of failure.

The news part of the station is really run by Tim Russert. Do I have to say more.

These are the people that abetted Bush and the war along with the rest of the MSM. Now it’s Obama. Whether for access, future availabilities and news cycles that produce more viewers, it’s become the norm for the entire press to go Obama.

There is practically no one in media who has shown objctivity about either candidate.

This overkill is an obvious attempt at distilling Obama’s recent Wright mess, along with trying to bury Clinton fast enough before his poll numbers slide even worse, and party would have to think about revoting fla and MI.

Party has exploded into backroom stupidity and stinking ethics.

Not really, Obama will play this out exactly as he did the MLK in SC, try to get all the milage from it he can visa vie the distortions!

Larry did a great job earlier o the numbers, one thing mising is dicount the caucus’s from the eqasion and the delegate numbers become more realistic! tried to do the math on it and if you take out the high tacked caucus’s, Clinto would have a slight lead right now! Texas proved the flaw of caucus’s vs real people voting!

Back on topic, now is the time for Hillary’s generals to step forward and fight on stage for their candidate!

The calls for Clinton to step down, why when there is so much still to come out on Obama?

Clinton camp, just ask for Obamas schedules and taxes……..lol

Wait till LEVINE EXPOSES 1+1= Michelle Obama getting a huge increase at the U of Chicago Hospital at Rezko’s doing!

Rezko made everything happen for Obama, yu think tht walk-through was anything less than Obama being told what standing by Rezko will bring to Obama?

Comment by Shainzona | 2008-03-22 22:42:13

Is that true…did Rezko help Michelle?

Comment by Mel | 2008-03-22 23:03:25

After Obama was elected to the US Senate, 2 months after being sworn in, Michelle got a promotion to a newly made position at the Hospital, and increased her salary by $200 grand a year!

Levine, Rezko’s front man sat on the state medical board! All you need do is put 1 + 1 together and it equals the amount of money Obama funneled to the hospital buried in pork barrel spending, in a Bill!

Comment by Shainzona | 2008-03-22 23:18:45

We may not get BO through the Rezko trial, but if this is true….WOW!

A plain old fashioned kickback. Obama learned from the master who is now on trial for racketeering, moneylaundering, kickbacks, bribery, etc. by federal government.

OBAMA IS CLEARLY DISHONEST. His aggressive roars will increase to deflect any backstory delving. He’ll yell “racist” every time he is accused, even with truth and fact.

He has pwerfected the art of the sermon and the dodge. Just watch.

speaking of crying racist, apparently it has been his MO for a long time, Newsweek has a new article on him and this paragraph just made me shake my head, the more thiings change, the more they stay the same
Back in Hawaii in the 1970s, it could seem that everyone was some kind of a minority. The fact that Obama was half-black and half-white didn’t matter much to anyone but Obama, Kakugawa says: “He made everything out like it was all racial.” On one occasion, Obama thought he’d gotten a bad break on the school basketball team because he was black. But Kakugawa recalls his father’s telling the teenager, “No, Barry, it’s not because you’re black. It’s because you missed two shots in a row.” (Here, Kakugawa’s memory is different from Obama’s. The Ray character in the book is the one obsessed with being discriminated against.)

Speaking of, rezkowatch also states today, 3.23.08, John Kerry took money from Rezko after a fundraiser, in April, of 2004.

The day after the fundraiser, he and Obama campaigned together. According to Rezkowatch, this may have led to Kerry inviting Obama to give the his now infamous speech, at the democratic convention.

Which explains a lot about the endorsement process.

I wonder what Richardson got?

Rezko also put Michelle on Landmarks Planning Board where she found their “mansion” that was for sale.

No bid and that;s how all the kickback money was needed for Mchelle Belle to get her home and the adjacent lot bought by Rita rezko who Obama claimed he “hardly knew”.

Rezko raised over $500,000 over 12 years for all Obama elections, and paid $625,000 for adjacent lot and Obama only reimbursed $104,500 as payment.

A stinkypoo mess and Michelle is as up to her ears as Obama. She also worked at WalMart on Board, and quit before his run for senate.

Use Chicago SunTimes, and Google http://www.suntimes.com

This is some pair. Can you imagine the shit they let their kids hear on Sunday Sermon rants against Whitey, and all the paranoic victim anger?

The language both verbal and body coming from Wright and his friend Farrakhan are racist bigotry and paranoid ramblings on a concerted basis.

Nice stuff for children to hear to make them effective citizens.

Comment by BernieO | 2008-03-23 09:25:56

I think you are wrong about the Wal Mart board. Michelle was on the board of a Wal Mart supplier. Hillary was the one who sat on the Wal Mart board in the 80’s where she pushed them to be more green and address women’s issues. (She did not push for unions, but according to another board member that would have been tilting at windmills.)
By establishing her credibility with WalMart founder Sam Walton she we then able to get him to support a CORPORATE TAX INCREASE in order to fund badly needed education reform in Arkansas. This was nothing short of a miracle. Think about it - pursuading a corporate giant to support a tax increase on his own company!
The Clintons were way out front on the issue of education reform and it was Hillary who spearheaded the successful development and passage of the Arkansas program. Bill was active as president of the governor’s association pushing for reform at the national level. This one of the many reasons I have always supported both Clintons.

I think Obama could never swallow the love AA felt for Clinton and he being their first “Black president”..
Obama wants he to be “the first Black President” and
I think he is just incredibly jealous of Bill. Obama is smart but he is not Bill.
That’s the nice part; then of course it is the political wedge he needs to create every time to movilize the AA vote for him (in PA this time). I read soemwhere that
more than 58% of AA were horrified and felt insulted by Wright’s sermons. So how else will Obama bring them back to support him if it is not by making them angry with Clinton and playing the persecuted one?

It is really pitiful to watch… In that video he looks like a teenager having Dad tell people he is actually a good boy and how everyone else is picking on him….

The comaprison to J. McCarthy is really nutty…
McPeak should have his cholesterol checked.

Who do todays Americans resent more, someone from decades ago, or someone still sitting in the White House?

First they attempt to impugn Bill Clinton’s patriotism by spreading the lie that he was giving a speech and making money half way around the world on the anniversary of 9/11. Then they call him a racist and compare him to Lee Atwater. Now he is supposed to be Gene McCarthy, the commiephobic lunatic? Sorry there ya Obamanutcase. The President that was most like McCarthy was your idol Ronnie Raygun. The guy that named names and helped to blacklist so many good Americans. And what is this supposed to be, a blind so that we don’t examine Obama’s connections to the communist party as well as his associations with admitted American terrorists and jailed political fixers?

And that smug ass Obama standing there with his arms folded looking all serious when he knows for a fact that this is nothing more than a smear.

Feaflicker, that was Joseph Raymond McCarthy (the nutty Rep. that went into an anti-comunist lunatic rampage). McPeak (reading froma piece of paper; surely given to him by Axelrod ) compare Bill to him

(Eugene Joseph McCarthy was a Dem. from Minnesota)

Rats! Andy, you beat me to it. I wanted to say:

Fleaflicker, that seismic activity you just felt was BOTH McCarthys rolling over in their respective graves.

Obarry’s whole campaign is a page right out of the Rove handbook, “Attack your opponent for YOUR weakness”.

Discipled under a racist minister for 20 years? Accuse Bill of racism.

Raised by grandparents with friends in the Communist Party? Accuse Clinton of McCarthyism.

Sneaking a peak at Hillary’s passport via a consultant to your campaign? Accuse Clinton of doing it.

Can’t find your official records for the last 12 years? DEMAND all of Hillary’s and Bill’s.

My initial positive opinion of Obama, based on one speech and good press, hasn’t survived watching him in action.

He may win the nomination, but never the Presidency. And I believe he’ll put the Republicans back in control of all three branches (they can run against him for the next three cycles).

Hey, post this comment over at the link below Jake Tapper. It’s great!

Funny, you picked up on Obama’s victimhood too.
I just left this comment over at Jake Tapper’s blog:

“This is just another example of Obama and his campaign claiming victimhood status again.
Has there ever been a winning Presidential campaign in the history of the country where the recurrent theme is “We’re all victims. Our opponent is mean to us. Vote for us, make us feel better because we’re victims”?
Bearded slob Bill Richardson instantly began whining as a poor victim the moment he endorsed Obama.
Obama and his campaign are pathetic. No wonder Obama went to an America hating Church for 20 years. It’s because he loves feeling like a victim and surrounds himself with Drama Queens who also like to cry victim all the time.
Hillary should buy Obama one of those giant lolipops so he can suck on that when he’s feeling like nobody loves him.”

Looking at the comments over at Tapper’s blog, I stumbled upon this. I wonder if it is acurate. If it is, it is really damning information on Obama:

“Obama’s words from his books.

From ‘Dreams of My Father’, “I ceased to advertise my mother’s race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites”

From ‘Dreams of My Father’, “I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother’s race.”

From ‘Dreams of My Father’, “There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe. And white.”

From ‘Dreams of My Father’, “It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names”

From ‘Dreams of My Father’, “never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn’t speak to my own. It was into my father’s image, the black man, son of Africa, that I’d packed all the attributes I sought in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela.”

From ‘Audacity of Hope’, “I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.”"

O. M. G.

These are exact quotes?

Comment by TeakWoodKite | 2008-03-23 02:45:15

Yup. “should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.””? so Wright posts a Hamas document on the churches website?

Who does their IT?

Comment by rwc | 2008-03-23 02:30:00

Now I’m worried.

If those quotes are correct - the man is a frigging nightmare and major security risk.

He’s laying it all out for those who bother to look and why he is friends with Wright and refused to abandon him.

Also the GOP 527 will have a field day with them.

What were the party bosses thinking when they let this guy get a shot at the presidency?

Look at the language, this is creepy.

His mother’s race?

She wasn’t just his Mom, she was a “white person?”

Explains a lot. He appears to have objectified her, while, again, claiming victim status.

And the father was idealized?

I don’t know. I haven’t read any of Obama’s books. I just Googled some of the quotes and nothing definitive comes up.
I’m sure McCain’s campaign has read his books though.

This quote about the Great General was classic:

Just a little FYI from a long-time USAF pilot, General Merrill ‘Skeletor’ McPeak is probably the most-hated general officer in Air Force history. Seriously, ask any Air Force people who were around in the early to mid 90s and they will give you an earful about this guy. My old Huey squadron used to fly him between Langley Air Force Base and the Pentagon and he was a total dick, completely pissed off that he, a fighter god, had to ride in the back of a smelly helicopter. Plus, he insisted on wearing a helmet hooked up to the comm system so he could hear if anyone on board was talking about him behind his back (thats where the Skeletor name came from, seeing his pinched, skull-like face framed by a big-ass helicopter helmet). Highlights of the McPeak years:

- Personally pushed new, redesigned, extra-shitty flightsuits, with zippers on the side, frickin’ epaulets on the shoulders and pleats. Nicknamed ‘The Fag Bag’, worst uniform ever, quickly canceled by the next Chief of Staff.

- Crammed the T-3 ‘Firefly’ down the Air Force Academy’s throat to do pilot screening training with (instead of the reliable and time-tested Cessna 172). After two instructors and two cadets died in back-to-back crashes, McPeak’s retort: “We’re not training dentists to fly their families to Acapulco here”. What an asshole.

- Finally, McPeak is the one who mentored a certain Lt Colonel named Darleen Druyun through her entire career, finally resulting in an Air Force scandal that is still being felt today (Wikipedia her name and prepare to be disgusted).

So, yeah, if Obama wants to use Skeletor for an advisor, go ahead. The USAF sure as hell doesn’t want him back.

Youre not gonna give Skeletor a 4.0 evaluation..?

Wow - I just checked his bio at Wikipedia. I thought Obama had served ten years in the Illinois legislature. That’s not correct. He only served seven years in the legislature. Considering the fact that there were about 55 mandatory days per year, that means he has about 77 weeks legislative experience before he joined the US senate. He basically had 3.5 years legislative experience when he announced for president.

Holy moly. that’s amazing.

OBAMA CRIES AGAIN//// even when his name is not spoken he claims he is accused of being unpatriotic. as i said before “if the glove is a fit, you must now quit.”

Most blogs are avoiding this story.

I guess even Obamanation realizes that this was over the top.

At least the media is being consistent - they interpret statements of Obama and the Clintons to find meanings not apparent in the plain meaning of the words.

Unfortunately, they look for bad interpretations of anything a Clinton or Clinton supporter says, no matter how innocuous, and find innocuous meaning in clearly offensive statements made by Obama and his followers.

McPeak, the foot-in-mouth General, who has all ready apologized once and whom Obama has had to say, “went over the line” plants shoe in mouth once again. And this time Obama is standing beside him. Kinda hard to say he went over the line when you’re standing right there, isn’t it Senator Obama?

But then you sat silently in your church while your Pastor told his congregation to sing “God Damn America”. Some set of values you have.

Oh and by the way, here’s list of the Flag Officers Endorsing Hillary Clinton for President and Commander-in-Chief:

General Wesley Clark
General John M. Shalikashvili
General Henry Hugh Shelton
General Johnnie E. Wilson
Admiral William Owens
Lt. Gen. Joe Ballard
Lt. Gen. Robert Gard
Lt. Gen. Claudia J. Kennedy
Lt. Gen. Donald L. Kerrick
Lt. Gen. Frederick E. Vollrath
Vice Admiral Joseph A. Sestak
Major General Roger R. Blunt
Major General George A. Buskirk, Jr.
Major General Edward L. Correa, Jr.
Major General Paul D. Eaton
Major General Paul D. Monroe, Jr.
Major General Antonio M. Taguba

isnt there a commitee on un-american activites in the senate ? and if so, why arent they investigating obama for 20 years worth of un-american activity in that morbit church him, his un-patriotic wife and his defenseless chilren attended ? obama camp will do any thing to smear the clintons. do you ever notice that everytime the media brings up the rev thing, obamas camp starts slinging mud in a vain attempt to try and change the subject ? and thats all that speech was, a diversion tactic. the dnc better get their act together because they will lose a huge number of dems trying to run that racist pig.
