Senator Obama, Have You No Decency?

Leave it to Barack Obama, in a further sign that his campaign realizes they are in deep trouble, to unleash the ghost of Joseph McCarthy, a red-baiting Republican who smeared honest Americans by accusing them of being communists. As a side note, does anyone remember who worked for McCarthy besides Roy Cohn? Yep, Robert F. Kennedy. So, since Obama has been compared to RFK are we to assume that, like RFK, he is the one who would work with someone like McCarthy in order to further his political career? Just asking.
But back to the McCarthy charge. It is the Obama campaign that is pushing the bizarre interpretation of Bill Clinton’s innocuous remark. Bill Clinton :
. . .praised McCain as an “honorable man,” who has “paid the highest price short of giving your life.” He mentioned that though Hillary and McCain disagree on many issues, they’ve worked together successfully on others. In that context, he said it would be great “if you had two people who really love this country and ask who’s right on these issues” instead of all the non-essential clutter that now distracts in politics.

Yet Obama and his crew, frantic to shift public attention away from the racist mentor of Barack Obama–Jeremiah Wright–immediately began accusing the former President of the democratic equivalent of consorting with a Nazi. How Bill Clinton retains his sense of humor in the face of such a despicable insult is beyond me. You can tell this attack has gone off the tracks when folks as diverse as Bill Richardson and Kathleen Parker (who wrote in the conservative National Review) defended Bill Clinton.
We have learned some very unflattering things about Senator Obama’s lack of character and courage. He was standing next to retired US Air Force General McPeak, when the General unleashed the McCarthy charge:
President Clinton, talking to a group of veterans yesterday in North Carolina, and he said something that frankly astonished me. HE said in promoting his wife’s candidacy: [QUOTE] I think it’d be a great thing if we had an election year where you had two people who love this country and were devoted to the interests of the country and the people. And the people could actually ask themselves who’s right on these issues instead of all this other stuff that always seems to intrude itself in politics. [/QUOTE CLINTON]
Well, let me say first, we will have such an election this year. [APPLAUSE] Because both Barack Obama and John McCain are great patriots [CHEERS] who love this country and are devoted to it. So is Hillary Clinton. Any suggestion to the contrary is flat wrong. And so as one who for 37 years proudly wore the uniform of this country I am saddened to see a president employ these kinds of tactics. He should know better because he was the target of exactly the same kind of tactics when he first ran 16 years ago. They had no place then. These tactics have no place in American politics. They had no place then … they had no place then and they have no place now. I am happy and proud to support a candidate who loves his country so much that he would never play that kind of divisive tactics (sic). And now i would like to present to you America’s next Commander in Chief … Barack Obama …
So, what did Obama do? He praised McPeak:
OBAMA NOW: Let me just say that not only do I consider General McPeak a friend and an adviser but I just think that he looks and sounds like Clint Eastwood is cool. [HUH?] Yeah … that’s what you want a general to look like and sound like. [SMILES BIG] Yeah …. uh …. you know, if you mess with him, you’re in trouble. So, yeah, uh, he … General McPeak has been traveling on my behalf and I’m just thrilled.
The wild accusations hurled by the likes of Joseph McCarthy were rendered inert when the likes of Joseph Welch and Edward R. Murrow challenged the drunken bully from Wisconsin. Joseph Welch, the Army’s top attorney, achieved fame for telling McCarthy:
You’ve done enough. Have you no sense of decency, sir, at long last? Have you left no sense of decency?
Welch’s question of McCarthy is still germane and needs to be asked of Senator Obama. Obama promised a new style of politics. Yet, since January, he has been tossing one insult or accusation after another at Bill Clinton. Obama has suggested Clinton achieved nothing of importance during his tenure and that the Republicans were the party of ideas. Obama gave tacit approval to let his surrogates accuse Bill Clinton of racism. And now Obama stands by silently while a top military adviser accuses the former President of acting like Josephy McCarthy.
Senator Obama, where is your sense of decency?
this isn’t about decency, he warned that he plays Chicago slap down and he’s relentless. It’s amazing how much shit he can stir up, he’s quite the exhausting candidate. He wants it over, before anymore voting or anymore debates and he’l make himself unpleasant to show that it will ‘hurt’ the party to let him keep throwing mud. Got to hand it to him, he’s a street fighter. But, it won’t work, she’s been preparing for this job too long, the country is in too dire of shape, she has too many Democrats counting on her for her to give into bullying. But he’ll make it as unpleasant for her and for us as possible. Fasten your seat belts, there will be more mud coming.
Anna: I think you’re right. But yes: this is going to get right ugly. I just wonder if Barack Hussein Obama is going to have a political career after this. Maybe if he works for the Daley combine in Chicago. But I have a hard time seeing him being accepted and believed by the country at large anymore.
The thing is we are already being to dispise the unpleasant Mr. Obama, who promised a new kind of politics and was introduced to us as a shiny new penny. Now he reminds me of Bush — however, even Bush waited until he became president to be this nasty.

Actually, Chicago Tribune had a story about Obama’s “beginning years” in Chicago (before Harvard): he was in love with and lived with a white woman, bad breakup with lots of arguments about race, as Obama got further and further into the Wright culture.
Article said she was devastated by the break-up, but couldn’t follow Obama into the Southside Chicago “whites are the enemy and the Antichrist” scenario.

Disagree it was a weakness. Perceived as such but only by some. Strangely there are still outposts - oases if you will - of people who feel it’s not their business. As for the size of these outposts: take the entire world and subtract a part of the US. What you have left is the outpost.
To say that Bill Clinton “seems to really love and support women”, after having had multiple charges of sexual harassment levied against him, and even one credible charge of actual rape, strikes me as a little funny. Especially when comparing him to Barack Obama, who, whatever else you think of him, has never had such accusations hurled his way.
OF COURSE, Barack Obama is not accused of unwanted advances toward women! If one is to believe the stories in the grocery store tabloids, Obama is more attracted to men. Frankly, I could care less about either. I am far more concerned that the next president is up to the monumental task that lay ahead.
As to charges of sexual harrassment leveled against Bill Clinton, the only one that I am aware of is that woman with the big snout. As a Frenchman commented to me in Paris during the Lewinsky scandal [said with a French accent], “This woman, Paula Jones–I do not understand her. She is SO00 UG-LY’! She should be flat-tered’ that the president wants to bed her.”
As to the charge of rape, even Ken Starr did not find it credible, and he was prepared to find ANYTHING that made Bill Clinton look bad credible.
If you find that charge “credible” I can see how you would buy Obama’s Kool=aid campaign so readily.

I have tried to take a day off from politics. It’s good for the soul to remember there are things in life beyond these lunatics like Obama running for office.
This morning I watched that asswipe Richardson come to Obama’s defense saying that things have gotten so negative and the party needs to come together and all the rest of the bullshit that kept coming out of his mouth.
And yet, while Richardson didn’t agree with the McCarthy comment, he managed to make it seem as if the negativity was coming from the Hillary campaign when in truth it has ALL come from the Obama campaign.
Hillary didn’t bring up the Wright videos. In fact she told her campaign to lay off. The Wright controversy was done by Wright and Obama. Wright is the one that made the comments and Obama has been a member of that “church” for nearly 20 years. And he lied about his association with Wright and the church much like he lied several times about Rezko.
So Obama counters by first suggesting that Hillary had something to do with the violation of his passport information. It was disgusting as the press fawned that Obama’s security had been breeched. Even the frickin Secretary of State gave a news conference about it. But apparently they didn’t think it important enough to tell Hillary that her files had been breeched a year before. And those asses on BSNBC trying to make this story something that it is not.
Now we have an idiot retired General Jerk claiming that our former Democratic President is acting like Joe McCarthy while that smug Obama stood there acting all serious. Then the words you quote from Obama praising this lunatic. Ohhhhh it’s enough to give someone high blood pressure.

I was but the notion of a kite in the breeze back then, but many a life was ruined. You’d think Obama would be against oppression? I heard Obama say his campaign is about the future, after all didn’t I?
I cringed when I saw the general say that, with BO looking like he was at Sunday church, if only to pause in one of those moments when one passes between two opposing mirrors and gets caught in the endless tunnel of history repeating itself.
Might I inquire of the folks that have served, does this give you pause? Or is my reaction, a civilian thing? McCarthyism in the ranks?
I have served. What chills me about Obama is that he seems to be such an empty canvas waiting to be painted upon, as well as the painters that he seems to choose to advance his political fortunes at the cost of his soul. Tony McPeak, by the way, had a reputation in the AF for being considerably more eccentric than the average Chief of Staff, but I will rely upon my AF colleagues who live through those years to tell those stories.
Too many people say the same thing about Obama for it to be a misperception or an accident. I like your analogy. More and more those who do see this have to warn others. Buyers remorse is already setting in and those four long years must be avoided at all costs. For someone’s trying to hijack something here. It’s tantamount to treason.

I think Gerry Ferraro was absolutely correct when she said the blogs, pundits, and intellectual left are in love with the concept of Obama. The actual Obama gives motivational speeches filled with words of hope and faith while surrounding himself with consevative advisors. Faith will not get us out of Iraq and hope will do nothing for health care. Instead of a snake oil salesman we need an engineer. A Hillary Clinton who knows how government works and how to fix he parts that are broken. Simple. To me the worst outcome in November is a defeated Barack Obama being the face of the Democratic Party.
People are such fools. Obama’s two bit rhetoric never bit me. The man is simply not genuine and it takes not five seconds to see that. Everything he does is coldly calculated. No smiles either. Not the spontaneous kinds, not on those occasions. He’s thinking, working listening, timing… Which is why he doesn’t like debates. He’d have to be himself - and allow the cameras and the people to get an extreme close-up. His style of bamboozling doesn’t work well with too much scrutiny. For me it was over in five seconds and in my mind he was just 100% USDA toast. How other people fall for such obviously shambolic trickery I just don’t know. But to me it’s two bit rhetoric at best. And you can keep the ‘change’.

Does Obama have such low self esteem that he feels if he is not a part of a conversation or speech in the campaign season, then he is being picked on and singled out?
When Obama felt he had the nomination locked up, signed sealed and delivered, did he not talk solely about McCain and himself, not mentioning Clinton?
This is as delusional an attack against the Clintons as Obama’s race speech last week defending Rev Wright while throwing his grandma under the bus and keeping a close tie with the slumlord Rezko!
It is nice to see Republicans actually crossing the floor to defend a Democrat who’s own party is throwing to the dogs for the sake of a dream that is turning into a nightmare!
Obama no longer cares about decency. His points are going back up and that’s all he cares about.
This is what he’s using to exert influence on super delegates & MSM to convene a “mini convention” in order to avoid a real convention floor hassle re: Hillary,Florida and Michigan.

election, and they will spin and squirm out of any rule to avoid facing the objections they will to hear in the Denver convention,

Why aren’t more people upset about these comments? How can they look past someone accusing BILL CLINTON of McCarthism? Obama is a trainwreck on fire every single day, his mistakes and gaffes are piling up like trash heaps. If the Democrats foolishly nominate such a divisive, incendiary newb, the party deserves to implode.

Last week, Obama took center stage to speak in a masterfully orchestrated explanation of his 20-year association with Rev Wright! A speech perfectly timed to derail his opponent’s speech on Iraq!
Many media types are calling it one of the greatest speeches in American politics!
BUT was it?
Could have been, if not for the almost 20 year relationship Obama had with Rezko! Every new revelation between Rezko and Obama exposes a tighter bond and a further depth of corruption within their ranks!
Obama’s relationship with Rezko places every single word uttered in that speech of last week in a completely different context!
To be the person playing the double sword of righteousness and deception does not allow the words the speech projected to be anything more than a grasping at America’s Achilles heel for self-preservation!
Could have been, if not for Obama’s inaction to the closure of the Maytag plant and the close ties with the Crown family!
Could have been, if not for Obama’s continual lies over various situations from NAFTA to Rev Wright!
Could have been, if not for his campaigns memo of SC on Race Card!
Could have been, if not for allowing Michelle to inject race towards a completely off topic the reality talked of by Bill Clinton!
To allow Obama a free ride by using racial divide as an excuse is worse than condoning Rev Wrights speech on the Sunday following 9/11 while bodies are still being recovered from the fallen buildings along with every other bile sermon Rev Wright made, because it shows that America does not stand for change and advancement, but for allowing a desperate man to cocoon its people into silence just as his wife managed to do to Bill Clinton, by Michelle Obama twisting the context of his words with racially injected statements!
So why the cries for Clinton to withdraw, because the Obama campaign knows many will not let the reality of Obama go and will keep it clearly and loudly brought forward as it should be, not as Obamabots wish it wouldn’t be, because every word Obama utters manages to make him fall from grace more and more and when someone in the Media FINALLY connects all the dots, even those toted by his surogates, the name Obama will be history!
