The “Wrong Nigga to Fuck Wit” Dilemma for Barack
By Larry Johnson on March 29, 2008 at 8:51 PM in Current Affairs
I like Ice T on Law and Order. He’s a good actor (and white moron I am, confused him with Ice Cube). He’s the black guy white folks generally feel comfortable with. But Ice Cube is a different matter. His lyrics from a few years past are, in the vernacular, off the hook, but strangely relevant to the debate surrounding Barack’s relationship with Jeremiah Wright. His song, Wrong Nigga to Fuck Wit, contains these lyrics:
It ain’t no pop cause that sucks
And you can new jack swing on my nuts
Down wit the niggaz that I bail out
I’m platinum bitch and I didn’t have to sell out
Fuck you ice cube, that’s what the people say
Fuck amerikkka, still with the triple k
Cause you know when my nine goes pop
It’ll bust your head like a watermelon dropped from 12
stories up
Now let’s see who’ll drop
Punk motherfuckers tryin to ban hip-hop
Fuck r&b and the runnin man
I’m the one that stand, with the gun in hand
Make sure before you buck wit duck quick
Punk, cause I’m the wrong nigga to fuck wit
Cube’s album cover featured a dead Uncle Sam covered in a U.S. flag. So Barack’s pastor, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, was not the first one to voice the sentiment–Goddamn America.
Wright and Ice Cube share much in common. Both preach a message that black Americans are victims of white prejudice. They diverge on the issue of violence. Ice Cube raps that one earn’s respect by popping caps in someone’s ass. Wright does not call for violence, but he does make it quite clear that whites cause slavery, AIDs, war and poverty.
Whites aren’t the only ones who don’t fare well in these songs. The “bitches and hos” don’t do too good either. Even the so-called Reverend Wright gave Hillary the bitch treatment. There is no denying that rap and hip hop have enjoyed commercial success. But success does not mean it is widely accepted. It ain’t mainstream. And that’s the problem for Barack.
This music and talk scares most people, white and black. And let’s face it. Barack Obama has been trying portray himself as an authentic black man, when he has had a privileged lifestyle. Jeremiah Wright wanted folks to believe that Barack was raised by a single-parent mom. He just forgot to tell the congregation that Barack’s Moms was white as were his grandparents. And that he actually lived with an Indonesian step-dad. And he had a privileged upbringing. Private schools and elite colleges. So, in his quest to validate his own blackness, Barack aligned himself with individuals like Wright and his new pastor, Otis Moss, who preach a form of black separation.
I don’t know if you’ve seen the rapper Eminem’s movie, 8 Mile. I thought it was a great movie. Barack reminds me of the wannbe rapper in the movie Papa Doc aka Clarence. Eminem, who had choked during an earlier verbal “battle” has a rematch with his nemesis, Papa Doc. A rapper battle off is like a solo version of “battle of the bands” but has more foul language and insults. Now, watch Eminem dismantle Papa Doc. Reminds me of what Hillary is doing to Barack.
But I know something about you,
you went to Cranbrook, that’s a private school!
What’s the matter dog, you embarrassed?
This guy’s a gangster? His real name is Clarence!
And Clarence lives at home with both parents,
And Clarence’s parents have a real good marriage…
this guy don’t wanna battle, he’s shook,
‘Cos their ain’t no such thing as “Half way crooks”…
He’s scared to death, he’s scared to look in his fucking year book,
Fuck Cranbrook…
Barack’s previous efforts to hang with the equivalent of ideological and financial gangstas (Wright, Ayers, and Rezko) is now biting him in the ass. You cannot buddy up with folks who say Fuck America and Goddamn America and “my only regret is I didn’t plant more bombs” and hope to lead a nation that is predominantly white and latino. That dog don’t hunt.

Hm… I think this post misses the mark. Wright and Ice Cube?? The comparison seems strained.
Jeralyn has a link up to a New York Magazine article on the race. It gives details about the conversations between Edwards and Hillary, Edwards and Obama.
Obama whiffed when he met Edwards, which is why he didn’t get the endorsement. He came across as an arrogant dumbshit, arguing with Elizabeth that his health care plan really was universal.

Larry is referencing Ice Cube and “wrong nigga to fuck wit” song, because Obama’s new pastor — Moss– used it recently in sermon defending Wright/Church.
Larry:
Ice T is on Law and Order, not Ice Cube
My bad.
not a problem…..Ice T wrote the infamous song “Cop Killer”.
Glad you’re there to help straighten me out.
Thanks
And you want to be my Latex salesman.
And of course you realize that Ice Cube also is an actor and star of several G-Rated family films which have done very well. I am afraid you are terribly terribly off here Larry. Ice Cube, Ice T, Obama, and Wright are all very mainstream. Your writing actually shows you to be quite out of the mainstream and terribly ignorant of popular culture to boot.
And btw your comment engine sucks beans.
Thanks Larry..Interesting when YOu pull back the Curtain for..”Typical White People”..Who Cant understand the Lyrics..But Just hear the Beat of the 60,000 Amps in the car at the Curb..
Hmmm..I dont see any stretch between ICE CUBE..and Lyrics Like “FUCK AMERIKKKA..STILL WITH THE TRIPLE KKK.,.” and What Pastor Wright Screamed..
Wonder where ICE CUBE gets His ideas From…???
Rumsfeld?
Simon I think he took rapping lessons from John Ashcroft.
Rumsfeld Isn’t America..
AMERICA is the place where Americans live..and most Americans are not like Rumsfeld or the KKK ..
The only thing that needs to be Slapped down are the Individuals or groups out there that Oppress and Exploite ..from any Race..NAME THEM..EXPOSE THEM..DAMN THEM..
But Don’t Damn the Men..Women and Children of the United States..
I am NOT Responsible for other peoples Sins..I am Accountable only for My Own Sins..
I say..God Damn the PEOPLE Who are TEARING AMERICA DOWN..The Small group of greedy..Ego Driven people fropm ALL Races..
The Bricks..The Garbage.. are Falling on People of ALL COLOR..All ages..The POPLE of the United States of America..
I Say..its time to Identify the Brick Throwers..Blame THEM..and start Picking Up the Bricks and rebuilding AMERICA..Like Responsible Adults and Role Models..
at least you admit to being responsible for killing hundreds of thousands of people.

He’s Cheney and Bush’s America.
And watching the arguements on this thread, it’s apparent the trolls have no F’ING clue what they’re speaking of, none at all.
Pretty funny.
Ah, the limits of astroturf…
We grafted our oral tradition to the oppressor’s tongue to kick the English off the island. Just the same……
Milo to Hallenbeck in The Last Boy Scout
But just once, I would like to hear you scream in pain…
Hallenbeck to Milo
“Play some rap music.”
“I’m Not Saying She’s Fat..But Her High School Picture was an Aerial Photograph..”
Hallenbeck..The Last Boy Scout..
“
yeah, I’ve been listening to the “too fat polka” by Frankie Yanovic, too. I can’t find the polish lyrics, though.
TOO FAT POLKA (I DON’T WANT HER, YOU CAN HAVE HER, SHE’S TOO FAT FOR ME)
(Ross MacLean / Arthur Richardson)
Arthur Godfrey - 1947
Andrews Sisters - 1947
Frankie Yankovic & His Yanks - 1968
Mighty Tubadours - 1991
Also recorded by: Bobby Vinton; James Last Orch;
Stan Wolowic & The Polka Chips; Whoopee John;
Harry Zimmerman Big Band; Drew Carey.
Here’s a silly ditty,
You can sing it right away
Now, here is what you say
So sing it while you may
Here’s a silly jingle,
You can sing it night or noon
Here’s the words, that’s all you need
‘Cause I just sang the tune:
Oh, I don’t want her, you can have her
She’s too fat for me
She’s too fat for me
She’s too fat for me
I don’t want her, you can have her,
She’s too fat for me
She’s too fat
She’s too fat
She’s too fat for me
I get dizzy
I get numbo
When I’m dancing
With my Jum-Jum-Jumbo
I don’t want her, you can have her
She’s too fat for me
She’s too fat for me
She’s too fat for me
I don’t want her, you can have her
She’s too fat for me
She’s too fat
She’s too fat
She’s too fat for me
Can she prance up a hill?
No, no, no, no, no
Can she dance a quadrille?
No, no, no, no, no
Does she fit in your coupe?
By herself she’s a group
Could she possibly
Sit upon your knee?
No, no, no
We don’t want her, you can have her
She’s too fat for me
And she’s too fat for me
But she’s just right for me
We don’t want her, you can have her
She’s too fat for me
Yeah, she’s too fat,
Much too fat
But she’s just right for me
She’s so charming
And she’s so winning
But it’s alarming
When she goes in swimming
We don’t want her, you can have her
She’s too fat for me
She’s too fat for me
But she’s just right for me
So I sure want her, you can’t have her
She’s just right for me
But she’s too fat!
She’s not too fat!
She’s just right for me!
She’s a twosome,
She’s a foursome
If she’d lose some
I would like her more some
I don’t want her, you can have her
She’s too fat for me
She’s too fat for me
She’s too fat for me
I don’t want her you can have her
She’s too fat for me
She’s too fat
Much too fat
She’s too fat for me
Hey!

Americs’s Polka King…
The 8 Mile movie of M&M’s was an insight. And why I say ‘313′ when talking about the south side of Chicago. When first learning of the residents being left with out heat and water, then following the whole corrupt arc that is Obama , scenes from that movie play out repeatedly in my mind.
I am waiting for the next youtube on this.
Damn Larry
let us know how you REALLY feel. LOL. And thanks. I’ve really had it with this whole Obama dream. It’s becoming a nightmare.
Hmmm. Most of the early gangsta rappers were protesting police brutality by the LAPD. They were also calling attention to the dire situation that many African-Americans were in at the time. Remember this was at the tail end of the Reagan-Bush I era when race relations were extremely tense. (Remember Rodney King?)
Wright is an older man today and Ice Cube was pretty young when he was a rapper. Did Ice Cube ever blame 9/11 on the US? Today, Ice Cube is in movies like “Are we there yet?” and “Barbershop”. I think there is something to say about maturing and viewing the world differently as one grows up.
“I think there is something to say about maturing and viewing the world differently as one grows up.”
Perhaps that one tends to become a little less extreme in one’s point of view? Say, maybe a little more level-headed and moderate? Less likely to call for ‘riots in the streets’? Less likely to fall for the next big media sensation?
Yup. There’s that.
Not to say that rising up against injustice is a waste of time; quite the opposite. In our crazy, mixed up consumer driven society, it seems the only way to get noticed is to take the issue, slap some art on it, brand it and sell it. I bear rap no ill will. What behavior it drives can be troubling. But my parents said that about the Rolling Stones. (In fairness, the Stones never suggested I go out and target law enforcement.)
The conundrum isn’t with rap itself. It’s what happens to the finished product when marketing gets hold of it. When the image makers step in, and glamorize the violence and sexism.
Lookkee there. We can blame TV. Again.
I think the analogy works perfectly. Barry is a wanna be–he’s a poser on all fronts. He’s a poser presidential candidate working a manufactured black guy image. When it works for his purposes, he rolls out the ebonics and imitates Malcolm X.
Barry is a privileged guy, raised in a privileged home, went to private schools and then went looking for black culture. He has more melanin in his skin than most white people, but there are plenty of Semitic, East Asian and other ethnicities with at least as much if not more. But it’s that melanin (derived from his Harvard-educated Kenyan father) that has all the white liberals wetting themselves in excitement over him.
And people actually believe in and trust the friggin charlatan. It maddening.
The NYTimes also found no evidence that he did any serious drugs at all. He was always a good student and very disciplined. He did not even drink excessively. He also wrote in his book about how he and his best friend in high school stayed up late talking about race. His friend, which is African-American/Japanese says that was bunk. Race was never a big issue, although Obama had a problem being away from his parents. According to my friend who grew up in Hawaii and went to a private Catholic high school Obama went to the best, most expensive school in the state. He is a privileged guy whose wife wears Jimmy Choo shoes. Both of them pretend to be just like the typical African American for political purposes. They are phonies.
Obama tagged along with kids who didn’t like him in Indonesia and one of them reports Obama got thrown in a swamp — and the kids who did it didn’t know whehter Obama could swim or not. He says they only did it to Obama.
Obama also according to his own book got hit on the head by a rock in a fight with an age mate.
When his Mom went back to Indonesia he was a young teen and decided not to go back because he would be the ‘new guy.’
So the possibility exists that he was badly bullied in Indonesia.
This is from the Chicago Tribune article: The not-so-simple story of Barack Obama’s youth.
The video is the real gem in this post. The Ice Cube/T stuff is okay intro (I initially thought you might have been BWD), but the video as analogy is hilarious. I can’t decide if I’d love or hate the Democratic convention being all 8 Mile this year. Certainly Hillary-as-Eminem is perfect. He really can’t say anything about her that we don’t already know. And Obama did go to Punahou, which is even funnier than Cranbook.
Funnier than Cranbook, but harder to rhyme.
“Reminds me of what Hillary is doing to Barack.”
Lets just hope she gets it done!
The sound bite of the Reverend’s Wright’s sermon is accurate if you consider the posted comments. Is imagining one America too far for any of us to fathom? We have these inner feelings that we ascribe on blogs, et cetera, however our public personnas are vastly different. We then attack public personalities who may or may not feel the same way we truly do; however we aren’t adult enough to public state our positions or we aren’t able to withstand the backlash. It’s more commonly known as cowardice.
Oh spare us the sanctimonious piety please. Somewhere a unicorn is crying; go bring it a fricking hankie.
Or buy the world a Coke. Make mine diet please.
The Unicorn Tapestries

Down thread I made a similar analogy about Obama playing at being the black man — like the wannabe Indian acting like he grew up on the Rez. And then I read this by Larry Johnson:
Yeah, Obama’s such an oreo, am I right? That’s why all my TRUE brothas is voting straight HILLS.
And what?????
You like Ice T? You know he was a pimp, right? (For those not properly clued in, pimps are essentially sexual slave-drivers.)
Eminem is a misogynist fartwit too.
I’d forgo the race-baiting and any use of any variation of the N word, btw. I say this as a adamant Hillary supporter. As a life-long champion of civil rights and racial equality, I think our candidate would strongly disapprove of that. One difference between HRC and OB is I’ve never heard HRC lob any racist slurs to discredit her opponent. I can’t say the same for OB on the subject of sexism.
And I do think Wright was correct on the subject of race. He was dead wrong that Hillary “fits the profile” and doesn’t know what it is to have to work twice as hard to be passed over for a (white male) C student however.
Flame me if you must.
wiggles, I honor your frankness.
I think the point made after the strong headline is clear….That Wright wasn’t the first to make this connection to “Amerikkka”. I listen to lots of music that reflects this view, some constructive and some cathartic, some ignorant, and some visionary. My favorites over the years have been Public Enemy, Dead Prez, and Gil-Scott Heron. I continue to support this expression as a potent voice of the a part of the black experience.
But I think the point Larry J is making, correct me if I’m wrong, is that:
1. It isn’t mainstream America, and that it doesn’t play the same to America the way it plays to me, a counter culture punkass from HTown. Even here I don’t fit in, but am comfortable with that. My experience isn’t borrowed from lyrics but lyrics reflect my past and present.
2. it isn’t the experience Barack Obama grew up with no matter how hard he is trying to wrap himself up in this message by alignment. He did not speak the words of Wright, but he enjoys the emotions that Wright’s words have brought up out of the community of resentment and anger.
3. His supporters are using strong arm tactics to make sure he is the victor and this will only work so far before it backfires. Eventually he’ll be out of the Democratic Race and if he becomes the nominee he’ll face a party that could care less how black he is or isn’t. They have a much stronger reputation for not stopping when black feelings get hurt, ask New Orleans, ask Haiti, ask LA Chief Daryl Gates. Its one thing to bank on the white guilt of the weakling Democrats who cower under the stigma of racism, but the Republicans aren’t exactly known for their racial tolerance as a whole.
And that the clip with Eminem demonstrates two things clearly:
1. “here tell these people something they don’t know about me”
This has essentially been my argument about Hillary Clinton’s ‘weaknesses’ or compromises. She has some issues that I contend with, and they aren’t hidden. This is disarming when you can walk up to someone and tell them your weaknesses before they rifle through them.
2. He points out this man in front of him is privleged. He can’t pretend to be some bloated ego with a sobstory of growing up hard when he didn’t. This is the story of Barry Obama.
3. I grew up in a trailer park for a while and spent more time raised by one woman than 2 parents, ffirst my mom, then her mom. We still had our dignity. I could not afford college, we couldn’t afford private school, my parents couldn’t travel to be multi-cultural. I learned what I know from being curious, like a sponge, and deciding long ago to be who I am. Barry Obama thinks he suffered and faced oppression, but his record doesn’t reflect it at all. He’s been the charmed one, the one who got Harvard, and all that. Does he think he’s smarter than me, or those who never got past my caste level? yes he does. Because he talks about how much he faced and how hard it was. BULLSHIT!
I know kids who have attained nothing more than minimum wage jobs in my town who have more dignity and humility than this necktie jackass.
He is a fraud, a fake, a venomous snake, and you just need to look at the fruits of his labors. If you say, “but he’s about the end of politics of destruction”, then just look how Hon. Sheila Jackson-Lee was treated in her own neighborhood today, like she was Clinton’s house girl. She was disrespected in a way that is unacceptable, and I’m not at all ashamed to call it that. God bless her work for our constituents in the 18th.
The threats of violence
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0208/8762.html
Threats have been made against Rep. Diane E. Watson, Rep. Emanuel Cleaver II, Rep. David Scott, and
Cleaver said it best: ““If white people were being harassed and threatened because they were not supporting a white candidate, we’d see headlines,” he said.”
Cleaver says he doesn’t believe Obama has issued any edict to this nature, and believes its just from his supporters going a bit far, but…what about when Obama said:
“”would have to think long and hard about how they approach the nomination when the people they claim to represent have said, ‘Obama’s our guy.’ ”
Black Superdelegates Threatened, Pressured
http://noquarterusa.net/blog/2008/02/16/black-superdelegates-threatened-pressured/
This article displays well what has been happening all along here and it will continue.
And that fucker Obama has the audacity to say Clinton is playing the race card!?
That might work on someone who is insecure about race, but I certainly am not insecure about it and I can spot a race-baiter from 50 paces.
wiggles, thanks for your view, I hope you are treated with consideration for sharing your convictions. I appreciate them.
“A rat done bit my Sister Nell, and whitey’s on tha moon, her hands and arms began to swell, and whitey’s on tha moon.”
Yeah, who does that uppity nigger think he is, anyway? You’d think he was black or something.
Balzeechris:
Yeah, what does your idiotic comment has to do with anything, anyway?
You are wasting time and space, say something really meaning from “your” experiences, what “you”
really know.
Well it certainly is its own DIALECT I’ll say! Did anyone ever teach these gutter mouths to conjugate verbs? I think we need the granny brigade to come and wash their pieholes out with LYSOL. Yeah I really want anything resembling this mentality close to the White House.
love ya hope, you speak your mind.
I disagree with you here though, simply because the vocalizations of the youth, the frustrated, and the oppressed should be taken in their own constructs. oh, I don’t disagree that I wouldn’t want this voice running the White House, but certainly to keep it in check.
I grew up listening to PFunk sing about Chocolate City and the new face for the White House. But a netaphor is a metaphor, and reality is reality.
Chris
Yes I can see what you mean about the oppressed youth. Maybe I’m too far removed because of the generation(s) gap - too provincial perhaps.
Then on the other hand, these gangsta kids didn’t receive a daily beating from the Penguin Posse every time they diagrammed a sentence incorrectly.
The Penguin Posse…that’s great.
Well its a generational thing maybe. My son is about to be 15, and he thinks he listens to good rap, but doesn’t know who Grandmaster Flash, NWA, even Ghetto Boyz are. I used to sell music to Scarface himself, and I know who the legends are and who I consider masters of poetry and then just opportunists who have no real message. My son says he love the beats and as he’s grown up he knows what is going on in some of the music.
Another example is in his interest to play Grand Theft Auto. One of them, “Vice City” there is a woman with a barely covering bikini. I asked, “do you want your mom represented that way?”…”of course not”…”then why her? why does this woman get to be portrayed that way? is it cool?”…”no, I guess not”
Now, I know he didn’t really stop being interested but he got my point about respect and I can tell because of how the last two years have been since that moment. More and more as he goes thru his identity issue, he finds being himself is the best path. I’ve been that way my whole life and it worked out fine.
Additionally I didn’t work a sector that was isolated from this part of our society. I in fact worked in stores around here that put me right smack in the middle of these various communities and I have to tell you, God blessed me with that experience and I’ll be thankful for it my whole life.
When my son started telling me he wanted a ‘diamond grill’ and he wanted ‘rims and stuff’ I wanted to know what he was looking at in this. Because I didn’t grow up with a lot of criticism for my rather esoteric interests it wasn’t hard to be open to him, but I had to ask, “What is it you like here”
And it was about fitting in…the same old time weathered tradition of fitting in.
Last, about diagrammed sentences…
I had a chat with a good friend one day about language. We are both real picky about language, but I noticed how he was in conflict with people over demanding they speak proper English and they would resist him as a cranky white guy. Then I remembered my Scottish roots and the fact that my bohemian family changed their name to be a little less Czechy sounding. This compounded with having left school at a young age, and my own insecurities about language showed me that Proper English can be a weapon against people.
It showed me something about how I use my intelligence as a weapon against people who might not be as fast on the draw, or well thought out, or all that knowledgeable and I didn’t want to do this. I still have a problem with this because I run into people who seem very ill-informed, or other states, that excite my ego too much and divide us again.
Because my friend truly wanted to communicate I told him be less domineering of the language, and be more a teacher and guide than a dictator instructor. Find out if you can enjoy where they are in language instead of where you are. This worked for him and the people he was trying to relate to.
I want to relate to everyone ultimately, so life give me that every day.
Five years ago I would have read this, and thought, oh wow, violent.
Now I look at it, and think this idiot knows nothing, nothing, just a small town braggart, with zero knowledge.
Drop a head with a nine?
You should see what they can do to you, Ice, and they dont need a nine.
Silly little stupid clueless pretentious boys.
Hip hop does suck, this type anyway.
And I was of the mind NWA had an argument, due to the police abuse they endured.
No poet here, no poet at all.
Ice Cube doesn’t even make it to the level of bathroom scribbler: ‘Here I sit, broken hearted…’
yeah yeah yeah
Gangsta rap was dealing with a reality few in the media would address at the time.
Everyone saw the large violence and crime, few addressed many other issues underlying this if ever it would be dealt with effectively. Lack of racial, ethnic, and gender balance in the police force could erode the ability to have the confidence of certain communities that calls were made in.
Women helping answer domestic calls so the female involved has someone to confide some level with if need be, etc.
After a while the gangsta stuff became a parody of itself. In addition, it’s basically no different than Scarface or Godfather movies, and nobody is calling Scorcese or DiPalma out.
People in the know have seen metro PD clean out its ranks of whistle blowers the old school way. Cop on cop crime is unforgivable IMO but it happens on a regular basis in major cities. It will never be corrected, hard to drive investigations when the gatekeepers are expected to police themselves. Just take your 2 week’s pay and hit the same bars and gentleman’s clubs you police for trolls and DUIs. Most of the ‘West Coast’ gangs have assimilated the juvenille, probate, even prison guard capacities to an extent in big cities also.
The number one item tied that pairs crime is poverty. Gangsta rap has plenty of white fans in the stretches of poorer rural America as well. Many Red States lead the way in negative draws for service and subsidy assistance. It’s socioeconomic.
The real reason Larry is an Eminem fan is that he called GWB out before anyone else really would, and the entertainment industry blackballed him for it.
As for some of the language used in rap, I’m not too comfortable with it, but in some ways it has allowed people to reshape some of the words used negatively.
It’s still not something I’m a fan of hearing.
Mr. Murder…sounds like you have “BEEN There..DONE That..”
I agree with your Points..basically Amrica like every where else..has Many Cultures..and Sub cultures..deppending on what or Who You identify with or want to Associate yourself with..
The “Gangsta” Groups are One of them..Coming out of the “HOODS” Black..White..Latino..Asian..Indian they all have thier ..SIGNS…SONGS ..SIGNATURES ..STYLES..
SHIT.. Preferred Drugs (To Deal * Use)
Rackets..Gun Runners..
They all have excuses for What They do and Why they do it..There is alot of Anger..hate..distrust.violence..Crime.All Over the USA..Big Citys Have the BIG Problems..
The Prisons are full of them..So Are the Streets..
They will Listen to The Reverend Wrights..or Old Hitler Tapes..or Che..or Marxists..or anyone else they can Identify with who has the Same Anger they Do..
Another Big Social Problem and Law Enforcement Problem that the nation should be solving..That Hillary needs to understand better..and that Obama has to Stand Up to..If He thinks he’s any Kind of Leader..
We ARE a Nation..DIVIDED..
There is a Thin Line Between “US & THEM”
..
Patrick Henry
My younger son, a disenfranchised being, has his own anger problems which are reflected in his choice of particularly, schizophrenic music. I have no idea how to categorize it other than to say it is putridly frightening. It sounds as if a choir of screeching guitars are violently attacking one another while a voice raging from the bowels of hell glosses over the entire noise with an atrocious ugliness.
Thankfully I am so happy that he never listened to that impish, urchin from Iceland (I can’t for the life of me remember her name)who adorns her dresses in dead swans? Anyone remember her name?
Bjork.
Oh yeah! Bazurk!! Okay I’ve lived in Amsterdam, New York, L.A. S.F. and in all those places, I’ve never seen anyone like her! YUCK! Her movie made me want to kill myself from the NOISE! She’s the weirdest alien around. Shes a multipersonality alien colored in freakish
It wasn’t a DEAD swan it was a swan puppet of sorts.
Dude, don’t be down on Van Halen.
“They will Listen to The Reverend Wrights..or Old Hitler Tapes..or Che..or Marxists..or anyone else they can Identify with who has the Same Anger they Do..”
That’s one of the more patently false and disingenuous… let alone down right silly statements I’ve heard in sometime.
So… these self same gang bangers, etc. frequent Rev. Wrights church? Go to the library to read up on Che and the Marxists??
LOL
actually had a flag flying in his campaign office in Texas…Obama is Muslim sympathizer.Wonder if he even has a security clearance?
A Che flag that is
LARRY — look at the comment above. Jesus, dude. When you lie down with dogs, get up with fleas. Get yourself to a Buddhist retreat, quick. You need to do some serious soul searching. Do you really want to be associated with the Lou Dobbs/’I can say ‘nigger’ with impunity because *they* say it’ crowd like this example? Would that make you proud?
You should pull this entire blog post down and apologize.
All I could wonder was when Che Guevara became a Muslim. Hell, only 20 years ago he was a Communist! I’m sure if he was prominent in the 1940’s, he would have been German.
Sorry, gotta Fact Check you there…Obama’s campaign did not have a Che Guevara flag in their office down HERE (in my town, and I know the office in question). Even FoxNews, who broke the story, retracted it. The photo was taken at another office where a meeting of Obama supporters happened, and it is an office that used by many different groups centered around “people of color” discussions and anti-war, peace activist, bla blah stuff.
Don’t spread false information. And “Muslim sympathizer”….what is that the new Communist? you should evaluate your thoughts a minute before continuing.
Kevin..Mr. Gang Banger)
The Inflammatory Things Taught by Pastor Wright..(Black Power..Blame whitey and the Jews) ..God damn the USKKK of A.. is the Sme as The nazi ideology..Purge anyone You don’t like..The Communists Ideology (Purge anyone You don’t like) The revolutionarys like Che and Fidel..or Chavez..Are All Thrown Out there with Hatred for Someone.(Purge or kill anyone you don’t like..) and Clentched or Open Fist Salutes..All of them Create Mob Frenzys..Irrational Passion..and thinking..HATRED..
The Reverend Wrights..Che’s..Bin Ladens..Chavez’s..are ENABLERS..and Only One kind of GANG BaNger or another Follows Them..
Sorry kevin..you are so Lame..You must be on Social Security disability..
I doubt if your Mental Problems come from having an IED go off near you..
When You stuck up for Gang Bangers..Kevin..
YOU showed your Colors…
too funny… ummm, as usual Pat - you’re babbling. Nothing in my post even remotely could be construed as supporting gang bangers. Even more ludicrous is your blanket labeling of people (par for the course for you). So… now anyone who “follows” Che, Wright or Obama is a gang banger?
Please… speak to your physicians and ask them to up your drug therapy or try something else. The med’s ain’t working.
Figured I make a bun for this hotdog.
You get a gangmember out of da’ hood, can’t always get da’ hood out of the gang member.
The ultimate icons for this are the notorious NWA.
For their great(or notorious) success stories, everyone keeps forgetting Easy E’s departure from this world with full blown A.I.D.S. One in five of the NWA lineup died after making it big for a decade.
Twenty percent mortality odds at the top, and they’re basically five out of fifty million?
Tupac lasted less than that didn’t he? He was actually a gifted actor in his own right.
Good to see several make the departure into other realms, especially character acting.
Other news too, no matter how hard they want to act, the Fresh Prince owns all others in terms of paychecks this day and age. He didn’t have to act hard to get there either.
I’m not all sold on the genre myself, prefer other music types but when I encounter it more than not the mood matches, the vol goes up.
Too Short grew up here for a while, made a tour appearance when he was owning the charts. The county cops had everyone out and even some guard duty called in LOL. Lived in the PJ, Chickasaw Courts, off Cherokee St.(where some of mine did decades before) if I’m not mistaken.
Whatever happened to MC Hammer?
Hey where did Rage Against the Machine go? I liked those guys.
Tupac lasted less than that didn’t he? He was actually a gifted actor in his own right.
And he could play a bass guitar like nobody’s biz.
One of the differences is the authenticity of the “anger” and it conveyance. With Tupac there is a certainty.
What does a musician dying of AIDS have to do with any of this? It wasn’t the first time, and it wasn’t the last.
The rappers, the gangstas and Wright - that does seem to be relevant. Not knowing you I wondered if you were going to call his sermons “reaching out” to these lost souls. And the same with Obama, but I don’t know of any gangstas or rappers they have reformed.
Maybe that black nationalism would be good for them if it made them put down the guns and the drugs and the crime. I guess that’s the idea with Farrakhan at least in so far as he is connected with the organization that gave us Malcolm X.
Personally, I do appreciate getting to read this view on Barack Obama. He seems to be very young to be president of the United States now and willing to do just about anything to win the nomination.
i like the eminem-papa doc analogy; it’s perfect.
You mean that Godamn country where a poor black kid from Chicago can go to Princeton and Harvard, can get executive jobs paying $300 k per year, and live in a big mansion while being seriously considered to be First Lady ? (e.g. Michelle, who is still angry).
Larry
I am begging you - please go back to what you are good at, National Security Matters, CIA, Covert Operations, International Affairs…
Because you sound sooooooo STUPID reviewing Ice Cube rap songs, giving us your take on “lyrics” and how they relate to Obama, etc.
Please, please - look in the mirror, go on vacation - this might be the “Jump the Shark” moment for you.
…and yes, you appear really, really old & white based on your post. “Akward….”
what the fuck is it with you guys who keep telling another human being to “go back to” whatever topic you can’t offer yourselves?
Start your own blog.
Quit being so narrow minded about what can be discussed at NoQuarter. In case you haven’t noticed there is another person here who runs the blog, aka Susanunpc, and she and others are dedicated to disseminating information about Barack Obama and this election.
Who’s eminem?
[…] Here, you can even let your children come to listen! (Well, this morning anyway. And not counting Larry’s post last night, or Larry’s all-time great rant against DailyObama that elicited 389 […]
“He’s the black guy white folks generally feel comfortable with. But Ice Cube is a different matter.”
Too funny Laryy… next time, before you get sooo comfortable w/ one rapper over the next - you might want to actually look into the issue.
Ice T came before Ice Cube, and was one of the early progenitors of “gansta rap”… Ice Cube, copied from him.
“more comfortable” - yes, but only because they’re only looking at the surface.
Reminds me of the joke from the Chappelle show:
“White people love Wayne Brady because he makes Bryant Gumbel look like Malcolm X”
I like Ice T on Law and Order. He’s a good actor (and white moron I am, confused him with Ice Cube).
Larry,
One black man looks like another. LOL!
How funny you mention Ice T. I dug out an old Quincey Jones CD the other day. T sings Back on the Block.strong>
He’s the black guy white folks generally feel comfortable with.
Like Clarence ThomASS ey? I’ve been reading that Condi has fallen out of favor for daring to talk about America’s Birth Defect.
Cube’s album cover featured a dead Uncle Sam covered in a U.S. flag. So Barack’s pastor, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, was not the first one to voice the sentiment–Goddamn America.
Correct. The first ones were white ministers in this country who aren’t taken to task for their comments.
Wright and Ice Cube share much in common. Both preach a message that black Americans are victims of white prejudice.
They are talking elite white prejudice. They aren’t talking about the average white person who is just a squirrel trying to get a nut like everyone else.
If you want to identify with white men of power who control you, be my guest.
Barack aligned himself with individuals like Wright and his new pastor, Otis Moss, who
