Attention Hillary Supporters!!
Protest Against Media Bias & Voter Suppression
NYC: Friday, April 11, 2008
(8am at: W48th St & Rockefeller Plaza)
Sick of the biased media? Disgusted with sexism against Hillary?
Tired of the absurd calls for Hillary to stop competing and “to quit”?
Frustrated that votes in Michigan & Florida are not being counted?
It’s time we demand the media STOP trying to choose our president!
___________________________________________
We’ll be protesting in New York City, at the Corner of West 48th Street and Rockefeller Plaza! We have to stand up! Let the media understand we won’t take this abuse of power any longer!
___________________________________________
We encourage the use of protest signs supportive of Senator Clinton or protesting against media bias, gender discrimination and/or voter oppression in MI/FL. This is a peaceful protest. We do not represent Hillary Clinton but as supporters of her politics we embody her values and accordingly, must conduct ourselves respectfully at all times. Anti-Obama/McCain signs are NOT welcome.
___________________________________________
This protest is not affiliated with, nor endorsed by, the official Hillary Clinton for President campaign and is being independently organized, funded and operated by grassroots supporters of Hillary Clinton via the “Hillary Clinton Supporters Forum” (see below).

God, how I wish I could be there.
I will SO damned well be there!
Anyone coming from out of town:
Dean and Deluca right across the street from 30 Rock. Yummy pastry and sandwiches, decent soup.
Too cramped to eat in.
Or downstairs 30 Rock is
1. a Starbucks,
2. in a hidden area is Tuscan Square with good Italian sanwiches pastry and coffee. I do NOT recommend the upstairs Tuscan Square Restaurant - overpriced bland food.
3. Cacina is second rate.
4. Rock Center Cafe is pretty good sit down. It waxes expensive.
5. Sea Grill is posh. Food isn’t exceptional, but the ambiance is.
6. Down the street, Mangia has decent take out sandwiches and pastry. 21 East 47th
You are 2 blocks away from MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) Fairly decent cafeteria and cafe. (You have to pay admission to the museum to get in)
There is a Szechuan restaurant - with an unbelievably yummy fish dish - crispy fish in pork sauce, and their mixed vegetables are good as well.
The tourist stuff like beef and broccoli are bland, and their other fish dishes aren’t that great, tho they get good reviews for the Szechuan dishes.
Wu Liang Ye 36 W. 48th (grungy exterior, but hugely popular place)
Finally, the New York Magazine Restaurant Guide is on the web and their critics rated restaurants are usually pretty good.
http://nymag.com/restaurants/
Be sure to look at the lobby of 30 Rock. Very cool frescos. Interesting story behind them. The exterior frescos are fascinating. There is a really nice one on the 5th avenue side of 30 Rock.
The Top of the Rock is touristy, expensive, fun and cool. I recommend it.
Hope you guys have a great time.
One other thing that might be of interest:
The Central Park Zoo is a longish walk from 30 Rock (Central Park is a must see though).
What is great about this little zoo is the Penguin Aquarium. The penguins are behind a glass wall, and swim and dive a few inches from your face. It is fascinating. Over the walkway, outside the zoo, on the hour, an old clock chimes, as bronze animals parade around, just as they did for children a century ago.
The park is great for exploring. Strawberry Fields is groovy. See if you can find Cleopatra’s Needle. Yes, the original!
Hey Susan,
THANKS … Everybody, I’m beggin now. It took me and my friend a month to make this PLEASE take two minutes to go rec, vote a fav, and leave a comment. Send it to everone you know; we are trying to keep it alive on youtube so more people can see it.
The Obama supporters are in a rage even though I DID MY BEST not to have a single negative comment about him.
This is about what has been done to Hillary.
Thanks for your support!
Larry and Susan THANK YOU for ALL you do.
Simon, I am in need of a poem. Be back later to collect
IndyRobin, great video! I’ve been watching it over and over and over! I’ve emailed to everyone I know… this protest on Friday will be awesome!!!!
BTW, you can moderate the comments — remove the NObamabots!
The only reason they’re posting so much is they are AFRAID of the TRUTH!!! Yup, nothing in that video against NObama. It’s amazing how egocentric they are about him. This isn’t even ABOUT him or negative against HIM!!!
Hi,The person that helped me with the video thinks we need to let them comment so it will show how evil they are
Great idea! Piss off more women! I like it!
Just plain OUTSTANDING. So powerful! I admire you and I thank you!
The video is so effective! It should be widely distributed to expose the vile conduct shown by so many media outlets when referencing Hillary Clinton. The fact that these misogynistic tactics have been allowed by producers in newsrooms across the country is staggering.
All women should be up in arms over this treatment of a female public figure, whether they support her candidacy or not. If it happens to her, it can happen to any one of us. Furthermore, any man who has a female in his life (daughter, mother, wife, etc.) whom he purports to love should be equally repelled.
This video will be a great fundraiser for Hillary! I can personally attest to that! Thanks for taking the time to make it.
I too wish I could go - but no way could I stand for the length of time required.
I am willing to do whatever I can do from home to help this be successful.
Thanks for posting this FF.
Victory for Hillary is supporting this protest event. You can see the show (and add your own items) at v4hill.com and it will be posted at hillaryclintonforum.com shortly.
Can’t make it to NYC for the protest?
Show your support by submitting your videos (audio clips, photos, etc.) to be included in the show.
Made it there and want to show us? If you have taken video at the protest, please submit it!!
Submit all items by emailing them directly to april11@splashcast.net
Our troops are fighting for free elections in Iraq, yet the DNC denies voters in our own country. Raise your purple thumbs in solidarity with Michigan and Florida voters!
Speaking of which…
Former POTUS, Super Delegate, and defender of FREE ELECTIONS worldwide, Jimmy Carter, has hinted he supports Obama.
Does anyone have an email for his office to urge him to support COUNTING THE VOTES in Florida and Michigan and not support the campaign that’s impeding counting them?
BRILLIANT IDEA….No way we shouldn’t use that against him! Who the heck is going to stand up for democracy?
You marchers, that’s who.
GO, NYC!! And SOMEONE PLEASE HOLD UP SIGNS “JIMMY CARTER PLEASE STAND UP FOR FL AND MI”
You can contact Prez Carter at the Carter Center. Here is the address.

I can’t be there, but I’ll do what I can from here. How many people are set to come?
Thanks Susan and FleaFlicker for covering this story and supporting our course. Thanks NoQuarterUSA for allowing the space for our story.
We are doing everything we can to get a fair treatment for Hillary in the media.
If you can’t be there, you can help us spread this protest to as many people as possible. Please us send email to the media. We want to have a media coverage at the protest so our message will break into the MSM. If we send enough email to them, maybe they will pay attention.
Joey,
Have you guys sent a special invitation and notice to Governor Paterson, Governor Rendell, and Mayor Nutter?
Philly is just a short ride to NYC.
Perhaps all of us can call or email them asking for their help as well as any other SD’s in the area. The media would be willing to invest more coverage if some the the SD’s are going to be there.
About an inch from the bottom at this link are all the major networks in NYC
http://giveemhell.org/#FLYERS
Thanks Nellie, that’s a great idea. If the big guys come, we will get the media coverage. I have been trying to get the camera crews to come, but no response so far.
Thanks for the link of major networks in NYC too. I’ll send them email.
Also, how about notifying feminist leaders like Steinem, Letty Potegrin, Robin Morgan, Erica Jong. How about women in Congress, both pro-Hillary and others too, like Pelosi.
This is about ending media bias and discrimination against women, so all Dems
should theoretically be against it.
Will streets be closed? This could be big - I hope.
Media will not like it,BTW. So be prepared for pushback from them.
Another thought is try to get Gov Corzine from NJ to go.
I am in the DC area. Anybody know how we can do the same in this area? I and My husband would like to participate in such a protest around here. I do not like what is going on with FL and MI at all and want my voice heard.
WTG ~ it’s about time the Media is held accountable. I will be there in spirit. Good luck! I’ll be watching.
I think this will only serve the interest of the other party. I beg you NOT to protest.
How will it ONLY serve the interest the of other party?
They will show the protests on the news and call her camp “whiney” and playing ‘the gender card’again. We can do other things than protest against unfair media coverage. Like help her win the election. I don’t think protesting at this time will help her.
The whiney accusation will come no matter we do.
They are the one gender card. They are using sexism against Hillary. We are protesting to stop them using the gender card. We don’t want better treatment for female. We want the same treatment as other male candidates. Not better. Not worse.
This is great and much needed. The opinions of so many have been formed by slanted information. Too many allow themselves to be persuaded by what are touted as authority figures in the media. This power has been abused and while many walk on eggshells to avoid being perceived as racist there is an unlimited license to be sexist. A man can yell out “Iron my shirt” to Hillary but if someone yelled out “Shine my shoes” to Obama he would have been shot. It is time we tell the men (and some women) in the MSM “Sure, I’ll iron your shirt. Just hold still.”
Has anyone gotten the daily laugh from Obama?
“I would like somebody who knows about a bunch of stuff that I’m not as expert on,” the senator is quoted as saying. “I think a lot of people assume that might be some sort of military thing to make me look more commander-in-chief-like. Ironically, this is an area–foreign policy is the area where I am probably most confident that I know more and understand the world better than Sen. Clinton or Sen. McCain.
http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/news/politics/blog/2008…
OMG — is that an actual quote from Obama? Yes? If so — is he is another George Bush.
Geez, tell me he didn’t say that.
What a nightmare this guy is!
Does he really see that as a coherent statement?
He’s delusional. Where has he been in the world that he’s so confident about his foreign policy expertise? If he’s so confident, why didn’t he hold his committee meetings? Oh yeah, he’s too busy running for president. The country is just supposed to take his word for it that he knows what he’s talking about.
Hey Obamatons, that Brooklyn Bridge is still available for a really great price. And also that swamp land in Florida, where I know they’d just be thrilled to have Obama and his supporters as neighbors.
I’m sorry that I cannot attend this protest–I really wish I could. However, I’m thrilled to see it happening and I HOPE the [very biased in Obama’s favor] mainstream media will at least COVER it. Unlike some of my fellow Clinton supporters, I happen to think that anti-Obama signs/buttons/etc., SHOULD be present at this protest, and if I were attending I’d probably display some. Regardless, I hope this protest is a smashing success and that tons of people turn out for it–and that it at least rates a blurb in the mainstream media.
SJ–Oy Vey, that’s all I can say.
I sure wish I could protest with you all in NYC. But I have asked a friend who otherwise wouldn’t to go on my behalf. I hope there’s a HUGE turnout.
And IndyRobin , thank you for that video–I’ve sent it everywhere and given it rave reviews. Well done!
I have one question, friday April 4th was the 40th anniversary of MKL’s passing, and during the entire day nothing was mentioned of Obama not being in Memphis to honor the man Obama has little trouble in using his words for self advancement!
Words are simple to use, actions prove a persons values! Yet no outcrys for the one candidate of all else who should have been in Memphis on friday, since he claims to be living out MLK’s dreams!
It isn’t like the 40th anniversary was a last minute throw together, it had been known to all and the choice made by Obama proved once and for all that Tenn is over with and he has no use to show respect, it is disgusting! Every chance to prove his worth to the black community, Obama ignores it and yet no one crys out about it! Simply DISGUSTING!
We should set up even more protests for the run up to the rest of the primaries. Maybe one per primary. We could play that video of all the misogynistic things said by the news media on a loop. Then play something very pro-HRC like the video celebrating International Women’s Day to Bono and Mary J. Blige’s version of “One.”
It could be IN the state’s whose primary is coming. Maybe Indiana next. We need to get the people there pumped and, yes, defensive. If they feel like they’re doing something they’re more likely to keep doing it.
SJ- re the quote of the day, George W. Bush couldn’t have said it any worse. The only thing is that Obama reads a teleprompter better than Bush.
I work in NYC. I am definitely planning to be there and I am going to get a few Hillary supporters from work to join me. It is about time we took to the streets!
Even before I had read this diary today, I had canceled my Washington Post subscription. I had been subscribing since the fall of 1968. Their coverage has been so one-sided against Sen. Clinton. They covered the Jeremiah Wright story only after it had been in the news for days. They’ve never mentioned a peep about Rev. Meeks and Pfleger being controversial. When the Kennedys endorsed Obama, they covered it like it was God’s second coming.
I had to laugh that they won six Pulitzers today. The Dana Priest one was certainly well deserved — it was on the Walter Reed mess. But she has great DOD contacts and writes good stories. And Gene Weingarten won a Features Pulitzer for one piece, but it might have been for his career long excellence in humor writing. There are few humoristsn on the American scene of his quality.
There’s not much else in that paper now. Certainly, there is no fairness.
Afternoon Fleaflicker, I admire what you’re trying to do, so I tried doing some research and came up with the following under Federal Regulations, you can find it at http://www.fcc.gov/Bureaus/Cable/Orders and search from there.
“76.209 Fairness doctrine; personal attacks; political editorials.
A cable television system operator engaging in origination cablecasting shall afford reasonable opportunity for the discussion of conflicting views on issues of public importance.
NOTE 1: See Public Notice, “Applicability of the Fairness Doctrine in the Handling of Controversial Issues of Public Importance,” 29 FR 10415 [2 RR 2d 1901].
NOTE 2: When, during origination cablecasting of issues of public importance, an attack is made upon the honesty, character, integrity, or like personal qualities of an identified person or group, the cable television system operator must perform the notice and other requirements of 76.1612.
NOTE 3: Where a cable television system operator, in an editorial, (1) endorses or (2)opposes a legally qualified candidate or candidates, the system operator must perform the notice and other requirements of 76.1613.
Maybe somebody should point this out to all those talking heads or complain to the FCC regarding the bias against Hillary.
The problem is, as with most of these government organizations, they are more political in nature than they are focused. If somebody says Fuck on TV, they are right there with a fine so that the right wing crackpots don’t go into a snit. When leaders are appointed by politicians, the intent and “mission” rolls down hill, so to speak. Thus the blind eye of the FCC. I know they are SUPPOSED to be objective. Look at the FDA, same deal. If it weren’t for that slob Rumsfeld being on the board of the manufacturer and strong arming the FDA agains their will, we would never have had aspartame on the market. I imagine the FCC is no different.
We have to also remember their “out”. Pigs like Cafferty et al are not news reporters. They are editorialists (is that a word?}.
Still, take a look at all those bogus “analysts” that fell out of the sky when obama started his bid. I mean I never heard of these twits and now they are “analysts” and “experts”…clearly and squarely doing the dirty for Obama. The only two left for Clinton were Begala and Carville, and they got fired. So there is a lot of truth to our complaint. I just don’t think the FCC cares at the top because the “appointer” doesn’t care. Because what you just posted smacks suspiciously like there is a case against these media kingmakers. Why else would it continue on if the FCC were doing its job?
Call the FCC, GOOD IDEA! While they are at it, they need to expose all of the REAL Barack Obama!
What about a big lawsuit against people like Mathews, Olbermann, Cafferty, etc. for sexism, which is discrimination. I would think there are discrimination laws that prohibit comments like these outrageous ones. Even if the suit were lost, with the right publicity it could make its point, at least raise people’s consciousness. Time to raise consciousness again. It’s down in the gutter right about now.
This protest is a great beginning. Yes, there should be more of them in more states.
How about a national march for sexism and media bias, or sexism in the media? It’s outrageous that this is still happening publicly in 2008. The video is great, I commented on one of the other posts. That one of Mathews saying the only reason Clinton is in Senate is because her husband cheated on her. Can you imagine? He should be sued for this. Certainly fired. Would he say this about a man whose left him or cheated? I suspect there could be a case. Any lawyers around? How about ACLU for discrimination? Shouldn’t they cover this? Maybe we need to get on them, too.
I also love the idea of playing this video on a loop at the protest. It’s perfect - those idiots are on tape. They really think it’s okay. Every one of them should be fired. They would be if they said this about AA people because their organizations would not allow them to get away with it - and rightly so. All Dems would support that, too. It is time they started to stop discrimination of 54% of the population.
Assume media will not want to cover the protest - it is attacking them - but there might be ways to make it very newsworthy.
Problem with present FCC is that now Repubs are in control of votes so it goes their way - deregulation. They still should be bothered. I think there’s one lone brave angry Democrat.
Media is VERY important issue. Up there with control of Supreme Court. There’s no democracy without a free and impartial media - which we do not have, obviously.
I can’t be there in person, but will be there in spirit!
Isn’t there a way that more people could be involved in this? Some of us are not handy at making videos to send in. Perhaps actual snail mail voicing our disgust with the media bias sent to the MSM early this week in anticipation of the protest? Maybe it would seem more effective in the age of email to actually receive hardcopy from as many Hillary supporters as possible?
I don’t know how to find addresses - do you? I can only find email info.
Addresses for media can be found by visiting the link below. Sorry. I don’t know how to enable the link.
http://www.mediaresearch.org/MediaAddresses/mediaaddresses.asp
The page says…….
Media Contacts & Addresses
To find the correct address to use when writing letters to reporters, editors, producers and executives of major news media outlets, use this directory. Staff positions at media outlets are constantly changing, so names are not listed. Many media outlets now have web sites and e-mail addresses that you can use to share your comments. Usually, newspapers list that information on the editorial page.
Grass roots in action! Go Hillary!!!!
I’ve already sent link of the video to all my e-friends.
Thank for putting it all in one video…we can really see it more clearly this way.
Its about time someone did something…The media is out of control in this country…Thankyou all for your hard work and thankyou senator Clinton for being the fighter we all know you are…You want every vote to count in this country.
Hillary08
The NYT has become worse than MSNBC.
I don’t know what the deal is. They had 4 hit pieces on Saturday. At the same
time, they gave a heartwarming report on Obama’s adventures in PA.
Soros or somebody must be paying them well.
I think that huge amount of money is going from corrupted politicians (mafia Chicago). How many wealthy people involved in Rezko trail!
Wish I could be there in person…But I will definitely be there in spirit!!!!
me too
I donated thru the group’s link for Hill
they are trying to raise 5k by Friday

This is a very important issue! The slanted journalism of this election makes you wonder exactly what purpose it serves and to whom.
The Obamamaniacs are using race and sex as a bat to bash anyone that stands in their way!
It’s time to stand up for our rights!
OMG….this is GREAT! Fleafliker….vunderful, vunderful! You guys are AMAZING! I would give anything to be there on Friday. I will just continue to send money to Senator Clinton’s campaign, post my suggestions for chants, slogans for posters, colors, props, etc on hillaryclintonforum.net, and make phone calls for Senator Clinton’s campaign. I am sending this to everyone I know! This goes to show ….in the famous words of Tina Fey..BITCHES GET THINGS DONE!
I will do my best to be there! Thank you so much to whoever has organized this.
Thank the folks at hillaryclintonforum.net administered by Murray!
I am out of the country otherwise I would be there. I have contacted friends and some will be there - they all know how important this is. Also not just Florida and Michigan not being counted after Obama had ads running in Florida also. Also the caucuses showing total bias against the workers, working mothers looking after their babies and older voters who can’t stand around for hours - Also the bullying that went on in a lot of the Caucuses. The DNC have to wake up and do something positive before it is too late for America and the Democratic Party. The Media have a sin to answer for.
I wish I could be there but I’ll be there in spirit too! The hillaryclintonforum.net site rocks!
Do you think we can put together an online version of the protest to coincide with the live NYC event? There are hundreds of thousands of us that I KNOW would love to be there… but cannot be there in actuality. I’d love to be there but I’m on the wrong coast at the moment!
Can a virtual march be created? I’d be happy to do this if people would be interested, as long as it would not take away from your NYC participation. You can reply to me here, or I imagine my email addy is available to the Susan here.
Demabrat–I’d rather be called whiny than a wimp and that’s what not speaking out and making our voices heard would be. Hillary’s being bashed by the media. She can’t hit back, but we can. What are we supposed to do? Nothing? That sure hasn’t worked so far.
We need to show that Hillary has supporters who are as strongly against injustice as she is. She’s spoken out about media bias and voter suppression. Now we have to let the world know we’re behind her. This protest is exactly the way to do that.
Of course the media will react against it. So what? It’s the people we need to reach. It’s the message of injustice we need to spread, and the people are already on our side there. The media bias and voter suppression have been acknowledged. Not solved, but acknowledged, even by the press.
THIS NEED TO BE DONE. RAISE YOUR VOICES IN PROTEST FOR ALL OF US! WE’RE BEHIND YOU!
Hey Susan,
Glad to see your fired up! Did you like the vid “)
Has anyone seen Simon?
Hopefully this will wake America up to what is being done to us by our OWN MEDIA.
GO HILLARY, WE SUPPORT YOU IN PHOENIX
The video was awesome.. And Chris “I get a tingle up my leg,Matthews” is annoying me.
I live in Upstate Central NY. You know the rural people who felt sorry for her, and let her win. He can just bite me. There are quite a few people here who actaully preferred her over Rick ” Long Island” Lazio.
The media does remind me of the Drug Years program I watched this afternoon. They all seem to be out of focus.
The videos are awesome! I wish I could be there. I’ll be think of you on Friday morning!
Media Bias Bigger than Presidential Race: Smack Down is Overdue…
by D. Cupples| Many bloggers fear that media bias will favor John McCain this fall and disfavor the Democratic candidate. Political Byline pointed out the media’s reporting on Barack Obama’s ties to Reverend Wright (hate speech) while ignoring McCain…
If you can’t be in NYC, start organizing protests in your local cities.
Susan-Can you keep this post with all the information up through Friday?
What a show of support for Hillary!!! What a statement about women and democracy in action!!!
This is sooooo good!!!
And thanks to all of the people who initiated this and organized everything-for their ideas, creativity, and work. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
