The Plan to Swift-Boat Obama
By Bud White on April 8, 2008 at 9:56 PM in Barack Obama, John Kerry, John McCain, Pennsylvania, Republicans, Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr., Swift Boat Veterans For Truth
Even as Democratic bigwigs Pelosi, Kerry, Leahy, and others try to force Hillary out of the race before 10 states have voted and Michigan and Florida remain uncounted, shadowy Republican operatives and 527 groups are putting their finishing touches on plans to destroy Obama:
The Boston Globe reports that these operatives
are busy arming for the general election, in a year that could see record activity by such outside entities. They are plotting strategy, crafting ad campaigns, and raising millions in “soft money” - largely unrestricted contributions from wealthy individuals, corporations, and labor unions…
One Republican strategist familiar with the plans said Republicans expect Senator Barack Obama, who leads rival Hillary Clinton in the Democratic race, to be their opponent and have begun assembling material to turn voters against him. “They’re beginning to put the book together on Obama,” said the strategist, who discussed the effort on condition of anonymity.
Many of these operatives honed their skills with the 527 Swift Boat Veterans for Truth (SBVT), a group which ran the slanderous but effective campaign against Senator John F. Kerry, which many credit with derailing his campaign.
John Kerry’s participation in protests against the Vietnam War was small potatoes next to the anti-American, anti-white rants of Obama’s mentor of 20 years, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright. These racially charged sermons give the Republicans a gift beyond their wildest dreams, and the damage may have already been done.
Jerome Armstrong already sees the Reverend Wright fallout having fatally wounded Obama in the swing state of Missouri:
In a month, a 1 point McCain lead over Clinton is now 9, and a lead of 2 by McCain over Obama has become 15 percent. It gets worse in MO. McCain’s favorable/unfavorable rating is at 59/40. If McCain already has MO locked up by April, we are in deep trouble.
Obama’s strength in the caucuses has been his ability to attract moderates, independents and a few Republicans. John McCain has spent months shoring up his support with the conservative base of the Republican Party and he is now reaching out to moderates, the very group who will decide this election and who are most offended by Reverend Wright’s sermons.
It’s easy to imagine the Republicans and their 527 groups carpet bombing the electorate in swing states with blistering ads of the Reverend Wright’s rants juxtaposed with a smiling Obama, while disgruntled supporters of Hillary reluctantly pull lever for Obama or simply stay home. It’s important to remember that John Kerry, after the SBVT were finished with him, won the state of Pennsylvania by less that 2% points, and he only won 12 out of 67 counties. Pennsylvania is a must-win for Democrats. John McCain must be feeling very good right now.
The Democratic leaders who are trying short-circuit the nominating process should review the electoral map and decide if a tsunami of red is really the best outcome for the Party and their own jobs. The one thing that is for certain is that the Republican 527s are going to do their best to make sure that happens, particularly if Obama is the nominee. And they already have their battle plans drafted.

If Clinton loses the nomination without Florida and Michigan being resolved, I will gladly contribute to these 527’s!
Great idea! I was going to contribute to McCain… yet much better to seek out the 527s and donate! I would want a front row for the full on assault.
The Dems better wake up and get FL and MI counted promptly, choose Hillary as the nominee, and somehow teach Obama some manners an humility and back Hillary.
Very true.
What are they thinking? No FL and MI? A 48 Star flag? 2.3 million voters shafted? Don’t count the military votes even in 2 enormous states?
Okay, so FL would be a fight, probably a straight up loss.
MO is a loss.
And PA–I mean Reverend Wright is a total deal breaker.
Clearly NO red state would go for Obama.
Better count FL and MI or I have to donate to a 527 or find out how to get off Dean’s mailing list and on to the other guy’s.
“I would want a front row for the full on assault.”
Don’t forget the popcorn.
Ditto!!!!
me too. but the only acceptable resolution is the full crediting of the fl and mi votes, not the phony crap dean and his crowd are trying to pull.
Republicans are totally lacking in morals and values. They would swift-boat ANY Democrat which is why it is imperative that we stay united.
If Obama gets the nomination let him take the heat then write Hillary Clinton in on the ballot.
http://www.writehillaryin.com
If you must write in Hillary then so be it. It’s not productive, but it’s a whole lot better than voting for a misogynist like John McCain like some have threatened. If I were to write someone in I would choose someone like Feingold or Boxer.
Yikes, you must understand they many of us view Obama as sexist (at least) and possibly even misogynist. So your argument on McCain is not going to hold much water.
I actually voted for Obama in the California primary, not because I ever drank the Kool-Aide - I lived in Chicago for 8 years and KNEW that anybody that came out of that political sewer was FAR from a “transformative” candidate - but because I bought into the ‘electability’ meme. I will say that on the night of Super Tuesday, Clinton’s supposed lack of electability took a serious blow because of her strong performance in the states a Dem HAS to win.
But in the time since I have gone from ‘okay with Obama’ to unable to vote for him. The race-baiting, barely contained sexism of his (pretty abhorrent) followers and Chicago-style politics was the start — but Rev. Wright and FL/MI were the final nails in the coffin.
I knew the minute I saw the video that any chance BO had in the GE died right there. Clinton is too concerned about being called racist/devisive & the MSM too much in the tank (for the moment) to keep it on the front page. The Rethugs suffer from no such pangs of conscience — the commercials write themselves. “The chickens come home to roost” and the planes will be hitting the towers. FDNY firefighters in the rubble, ‘have you seen this person’ pictures littering the street.
Remember these people take disabled war heroes and morph them into Osama Bin Laden — don’t believe me, ask Max Cleland. BO has more baggage than they could have ever DREAMED of and THEY don’t CARE if you call them racist.
I want a Dem for President, and though the fight will be tough for Clinton she has a shot — Obama has none. His chances ended when he sat in that pew for 20 years — the Republicans will not let you, me or anyone forget that he did.
It is, ultimately bad strategy for the republicans to campaign this way.
Clinton is doing the right thing, in the better interests of the country, and , if she were to be elected, in the better interests of her Presidency.
Any fight with Obama on this issue, at this time, would be taking the bait, and ultimately internecine.
Think of Israel, and Palestine, when Israel went to violence at the exclusion of diplomacy, it lost.
Same with the neocons.
It’s up to the people of this country, and the powers that be, to demand change, and fairness, integrity, rule of law. A fair press, which is germane to America’s health, would have knocked out Obama months ago. The press needs to be fixed, and the corporations, and the people need to demand it. Clinton alone cannot do it, by attacking Obama.
GE could just as easily say “we will not support any candidate who acts against the US in the manner Obama does. But they don’t, because they want the money, the access, and they’re driven by fear. And in the end, they’ll destroy themselves anyway. They all want to be Rezko, their boy in the Oval Office.
And if those stupid wall street types keep putting a gun to their head, so be it, they won’t take the rest of us down with them.
The Republicans don’t anticipate trouble winning a racist campaign. They did in 1980 and 1984. Recall that the “optimistic” Reagan campaign Obama so admires tellingly began in Philadelphia, MS.
Look outside their limited point of view though.
They are in trouble, the country is in trouble, the atmosphere, internally, is toxic.
They seem to have difficulty understanding their victories are not victories.
The more they cheat and lie to gain control, the more they lose control, meaning they do not achieve their objectives, they lose more power internationally, they are regarded as hicks, and they LOST two wars. The Republicans are cows. How are their internal enemies playing them? They have no clue, they are that stupid, that much Paris Hilton.
Can’t play big man when your country is no longer regarded as a player, because, you know, you stink, and you’re too stupid to get it, and Putin, say, can manipulate your every move. Which he does, IMO.
And when they step out of the moment, they understand they have lost tremendously, and really, who is manipulating them, and why? But this, you know, it feeds the Paris Hilton in them, the need to be recognized for their personality, since they have no talent. Just like all the other narcissists we have polluting our government’s infrastructure, just flatter the morons, and have a go at them.
They’re broken, and all the momentary fervor of the bully won’t change it.
Their little IQ’s are NAILED, it’s pretty easy to throw Olberman, say, into a spin.
Reading the article about Matthews, it could be the republican party, couldn’t it?
And Dean, too, their democratic counterparts.
I mean, they are so disconnected from reality, they can be, and are, easily manipulated.
>>> They did in 1980 and 1984.
AS well as 1968, which was the Big Megilla.
Yeah, Obama is the antichrist. The devil. He’s evil. He’d kill your children in their sleep. He hates women. And white people. I’ve heard he drinks the blood of kittens. And when he’s done doing that, he sticks needles in Hillary voodoo dolls.
Don’t you people realize how unhinged you sound? You’re no better than the “Obamatrons” who bash Hillary in exactly the same way.
My favorite instrument of all time, but it all depends on who is playing it.
don’t believe me, ask Max Cleland.
I’ve heard he drinks the blood of kittens.
It would not suprise me if he did.
This is why it is so hard to engage with some Obama supporters. In reading through this string of comments I mentioned that many view Obama as “sexist (at least)” based on yikes comment describing McCain as a misogynist. Then suddenly you equate that statement with saying Obama is “the anti-Christ.” Quite a leap, there…don’t you think?
I think that Obama is a deeply flawed candidate to field in a general election. This is especially true when we know the Rethugs will fight this election (like they ALWAYS do) on patriotism. What else have they got? Do I think that Obama is anti-American? No. I think he went to that Church to get some street-cred for the world of Chicago politics. That shows very bad judgement, but there you have it.
He’s not trying to get elected from Hyde Park anymore, he’s going to go against a guy who spent 5 years in a POW camp for the Presidency. The Republicans have more than enough (much of it true for a change) to weave a very negative narrative about Obama and it is naive to believe that they won’t hit him like a train over and over…ITS THEIR NATURE.
There’s more to spin about Obama. Ties assications with Farakhan , Ayers and Rhashid Khalidi…..There’s so much more that has not come out..Wonder Why?
It’s funny to read you parroting Krugman’s comment on what Obamites say about Hillary Clinton.
I’ve been reading Clinton hit pieces on Daily Kos for over about 2 years.
Since the primaries, their recommended diaries are frequently 100% Clinton hit pieces.
“I’ve heard he drinks the blood of kittens.”
Yeah, he likes it on the rocks while he smokes a cigarette.
Your statement is part of the problem for me. This attempt to gaslight sane people by telling them they are ‘unhinged.’ That WE are the problem.
The Party will get NOWHERE by calling me stupid and crazy.
Keep at this approach, however. It’s really working well for ya.
PS
If you are one of these young Obamatons and don’t know the Gaslight reference. Look it up at http://www.imdb.com
that’s the text of a gop ad.
I’m marching to the same drummer in your parade:
Obama is unelectable! (But I knew that even before the Wright flap.)
I would vote for Cynthia McKinney. I can vote for a black woman who is anti war. If Hillary is not the nominee I cannot vote for McCain.
After all Obama has pulled I doubt I could vote for Obama. Writing Hillary in is an option. But unless Hillary is the nominee I fear McCain is the next President elect. It would be a tough campaign for Hillary before Wright. But looks like he is tearing the entire party down. What a mess Obama has made of a sure win for Dems in ‘08. If Obama is the nominee the new slogan for the dem party should be “Nominating the Unelectable since 1840.”
If Obama had sense, he would have taken the vice presidency, used it to prove himself, learned from the Clintons, and in 8 years would be a shoe-in.
If HRC lost, he would still have gotten good visibility, and over 4 years could build trust with a wider range of the population.
He runs now, he’s still an unknown to most of the country, has divided the democratic base in half with unsavory campaign tactics directed at Clinton and at her supporters on the web, will be easier to knock off and when he loses he is OUT (and good riddance).
Amen!
yikes, you seem to be expending quite a lot of energy trying to convince us to either vote for obama or write in someone (i.e., throw away our votes).
looks like fear has set in. looks like the paid obama bloggers have been told to try to stop the bleeding and if they can’t to at least try to prevent us from voting for mccain.
obama knows that us voting for mccain hurts him twice as much as us just not voting or writing in someone or voting for nader or whatever. he thinks if he can convince us not to vote for mccain he’ll find a way to get more votes than mccain, even without us, and still win. that’s why i’m determined to vote for mccain. obama must not be elected.
bye troll.
Actually I learned of this site when someone was attacking you all on another blog. People were saying that you all were spewing racist remarks, and that you are Republicans trying to make it seem like you’re for Hillary while undermining the party. I argued that people shouldn’t call you racists and wanted to see for myself.
I was shocked to see so many self-proclaimed Democrats actively advocating a McCain presidency. I understand being angry, I understand feeling frustrated at the other candidate, I understand wanting to write someone else in, I was at that point in the opposite direction. I can not understand how any Democrat could actually vote for McCain. It makes no sense.
Why do I come here? It’s kind of like watching a train wreck…I want to look away, but it makes me so sad to see this level of anger that I just can’t help it. The poll that showed the division in the party really hit me hard. I feel like we’ve lost our reason for fighting in the first place - the horrible situation Bush has placed us in. Perhaps I feel guilty for ever thinking and saying that I wouldn’t vote for Hillary. I haven’t been told to do anything, and frankly prefer seeing people with differing viewpoints than sitting in an echo chamber.
Maybe some of you are Republican plants like the folks on other blogs are saying, I hope not, but I honestly don’t know how else to explain how people can continuously laud Hillary and never discuss the unscrupulous actions of the Republicans. The pro-Obama sites may be nauseating at times, but at least they stop once in a while to address other issues relevant to progressives.
Many of us are women who for some strange reason don’t like being called racists, whores, etc. for not supporting Obama. Some of us thought we could hold our noses and vote for him, as we have done for other Dems in the past. However, what made me decide that I could NEVER vote for Obama was the Rev. Wright. Not only were Barack and Michelle parishioners for many years but they exposed their children to these hateful rantings. And Obama is trying to convince us that his oh so great judgment outweighs Hillary’s 30 years of experience?
And some of us Obama supporters don’t like being called cultists, or robots, or sexist because we believe in our candidate ..it works both ways!
I think the ’sexist’ charge is well-deserved.
Gee I’m awfully sorry, but when an Obamazoid calls me a Cunt and tells me to get him a beer, I think I have earned the right to call them what they are. Sexists. You think you are going to come here and do Nicey Nicey after Obama steals the nomination by keeping FLA and MICH from revoting, and we are all going to forgive you and sing Kumbaya for Jim Jones.
You can all kiss our asses.
WIN WITHOUT US!
I am a Black woman and feel exactly the same…Never crossed my mind to vote for him…I did my homework early. Just look at his District in South Chicago. He really cared about those people.
Hi nette60,
It’s great when people get beyond race and base their decisions on facts. Hillary Clinton is definitely better prepared to be president. Race shouldn’t matter, preparedness should.
That was the deal breaker for me too.
How he treated the people in his district.
Better to stand on my feet and vote for McCain than fall on my knees and worship Obama. I will not give the keys to the White House to that narcissistic megalomaniac. W has been a disaster. Obama is W-2.
As a Hillary supporter.I will vote McCain before OB….Remember the Congress is Democratically controlled now. Not too much damage he can do by himself.
“Perhaps I feel guilty for ever thinking and saying that I wouldn’t vote for Hillary.”
As well you should. It’s part of the problem. Part of the reason for this great divide. I had planned to support the nominee whoever that was at the start of the Primary. And in case you think that I would never vote for an AA, I’m black. I voted for Jackson and Sharpton.
My anti-Obama stance came as a result of his lack of experience and qualifications compared to Hillary’s; his campaign’s playing of the race card covertly and irresponsibly while blaming the Clintons, something I believe is going hurt the AA community irreparably in the future and in ways Jackson or Sharpton never did, regardless of all the negative press and bad feelings whites harbor for them; and finally the irrational Hillary-hatred online where people proclaimed, as you yourself have, that they would never vote for her. The vitriol spewed at me, months before the Wright flap ever appeared forced me into the realization way back when that they were the ones who had no interest in Party unity.
So why should I?
Now that it’s crunch time and you people feel that you have it in the bag since you have intimdated the Party into the “if Obama doesn’t get the nomination, and the Super Delegates decide this thing they will have STOLEN the nomination. That along with the disenfranchisment of millions of voters in FL & MI. Now you guys realize that you HAVE to have Hillary’s supporters to win. Now you want to make nice.
I’m not a Republican. I’m a lifelong Democrat who has voted in EVERY ELECTION, Primary and most local Primaries as well. I haven’t missed watching a Convention on air since I was small child at my late mother’s knee. I am telling you that OBAMA CAN’T WIN!
For all the reasons listed here and then some. The AA community can act like a bunch of spoiled brats if they want to and threaten to exit the Party, riot or whatever else they want to do if this man doesn’t get the nomination, but seriously, people better start doing the math: a 12% voting bloc cannot bring it hom for Obama if he doesn’t have the substantial support of women, blue collar voters plus the 16% latino minority vote.
Obama and his posse think that they can apologize and smooth things over once he has the nomination in place, but he’s wrong. He’s already overexposed and his words are going to fall on deaf ears. The dude has lost his luster.
Where was the Party leadership in all this? Where was the sage voice of experience to tell this guy before he ran: be patient in another 4 years or 8, the nomination and the WH can be yours.
The only way he’ll put out a win is more of the dirty politcs he’s come from with mysterious unsealings of divorce papers, or if McCain’s cancer comes out of remission or drops dead. Otherwise, Obama has about as much chance of being elected Dog Catcher.
And you all need to face that “dems da facts!“
Great post, Mimi.
Not everybody is a Democrat. Not everybody is a progressive. Some people think the only thing less odious than the post-Gingrich Republican Party is the invertebrate, anorchic (sic), goddamn near useless Democratic Party which has not had the stones or the smarts to function as an opposition party.
Since the only thing it seems to be able to do consistently is bend over and spread its cheeks, it needs to learn that this is not just another lifestyle choice.
Yes, that IS a homophobic metaphor. Just introducing a little rhetorical diversity: racism and misogyny are becoming monotonous.
Yeah, maybe they are beginning to go into panic mode.
But there’s no need for us to do that. I think that all of us who feel so strongly have to judge the GE on a state-by-state basis. I live in a blue state. I should be able to sit out the election with ease, or write in Hillary. However, if the polls show McCain having a shot at winning my blue state, I will be more than happy to tip the scales for him. And here’s why:
I know Senator Clinton would have won my blue state, handily. So why did the Party choose the wrong nominee? It would be a political disgrace if McCain won my blue state. But it would show the Democratic Party how absolutely stupid they are and of ALL the world to see.
Leland Gaunt’s scouts are her to make Nicey-Nicey.
I agree with you, Mimi. My vote will be a protest vote. It will be the slap that the Democratic party leadership needs to wake their sorry arses up.
Olberman is a bore.
Period.
Why do you think he’s so important?
He’s a sexist hack, has illusions of being a journalist, a pedantic no talent who can’t write, and he engages in questionable activities, in regard to his, um, credibility.
He’s a stooge.
Corrupt men are easy to push around, just drag a 100.00 bill through a press room, right, and see who follows, the Paula Joneses of the press.
I don’t understand. Those who will not vote for Obama and will write in a random name or stay home …. why? Are you really ok that Obama wins … and that is why you will not cast a vote for the one most likely to beat him .. McCain?
Maybe without your vote for McCain, Obama would win. Is that ok for some of you? passive agressive behavior… that you will not assert a vote for Obama, yet passively want him to win over McCain.
I know that I do not want Obama near the White House, period. I think he is the worst of the 3. Hillary being the best. Therefore, if Hillary is not the nominee I clearly vote for McCain … I do not want Obama in the White House.
Also… if it was Hillary and Obama… I would vote for McCain … that is how strongly positioned I am against Obama.
Please explain the “I will not vote” or “I will write in someone” instead of voting for Obama.
please explain.
Thanks
i’m with you. i’ll be voting mccain, the first repub vote in my (very long) life.
I, too, will cast my very first vote for a Repug…..Any other way(write-in, not voting) may give the lead to BO.
WIN WITHOUT ME.
Well yikes you just write in whoever the hell you want to write in as I will. I will write in Hillary Clinton because that is the message that I want to send. The message of an angry woman who saw the media, the DNC, Democratic Leadership (there’s an oxymoron for ya) and most of Left Blogostan prove what a bunch of misogynistic pricks they are.
I have stated for months that I will never vote for war-monger McCain or Misogynist Obama. And I won’t vote for anyone else just because they’ve got a “D” behind their name. Congress has got a bunch of those 5th Columnists; they’re called Blue Dog Democrats and they are helping to destroy everything the Democratic Party ever stood for. But then so are Pelosi, Dean, Reid, Kerry, Kennedy et al.
United? I don’t want to be united with these people. A lying, corrupt Democrat is no better than a lying corrupt Republican. So save your “concern” for those that care. “We are mad as hell and ain’t gonna take it anymore!”
Win Without Us!
Yikes,
A write-in vote is a cast-away vote unless the candidate has filed with EACH state as a write-in candidate.
So by asking them to write-in Hillary you are asking them to throw their vote away….essentially not show up to the polls. Which is exactly what Donna Brazille wants, and has said on air and in abusive email.
I doubt know if you are an paid op like you accuse us of being. However, if Obama has the nom and there is no write-in status for Hillary.
I WILL BE VOTING FOR MCCAIN SO THAT MY VOTE AGAINST OBAMA COUNTS.
That man will not benefit from someone like you or Brazille discrediting my vote against him.
That man will not benefit from subverting democracym and have me on the sideline passing this election up!
I never have stood out before and shame on you for trying to convince people to do it now!
who is write hillary in? Always prudent to ask. We don’t know.
http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/results.jsp?domain=writehillaryin.com
They originate from the Liberal Rapture blog. Very nice people.
Thats the hole point to the Clinton campaign. We all know everything about them they have been getting this kind of scrutiny for 20 years and they still win elections.
Ross Perot was a big factor in both presidential runs. I don’t think that 20 years of scrutiny is necessarily a benefit, I wouldn’t particularly relish a rehash of Monica in the media. I’ve also seen articles about the slew of research and preparations the Republicans completed to take Hillary down.
These Republicans are creeps without scruples. They will do anything to keep control.
Yikes get your history correct Perot was no factor in 1996. Hillary won 2 state wide elections easily with the first one agains a very strong candidate Rick Lazelo. Dying allegence to a party is a remenant of the old USSR. The democratic party has had a number of candidates who did not deserve our support, Elliot Spitzer, William Jefferson, to a name a few. When a party systematically slimes one of their own particularily when that person is a former first lady and respect senator who has aided and raised a great deal of money for that party and their candidates it doesn’t deserve our support.
If you actually knew your history, Ross Perot was more of a detriment to Bill Clinton in the 1992 election; it was George HW Bush who wanted Perot back in the race. As far as 1996, Clinton smashed Dole and Perot was not that big of a factor.
Don’t care about Lewinsky - such a non-story and don’t think that it will hurt Hillary - probably help her.
You want to talk about Obama’s ties to radical Islam instead?
Starting with his preacher. You don’t get it. How basic is it to make this about voting against terrorism.
Obama’s preacher supports terrorism as a tool for, you guessed it, political “change.”
I’d take Monica over terrorism anyday.
>>> These Republicans are creeps without scruples. They will do anything to keep control.
That’s how you win, sad to say.
NO, this is how you lose, and play into the hands of your enemy, whether they be domestic, or foreign.
Think about it, in terms of a greater asymmetric war, how can I bring down the country on the backs of a bunch of stupid greedy republicans, and their even weaker democratic counterparts?
You think our enemies don’t think like that?
Last seven years haven’t been too good, now have they?
How can I exploit Rove and Obama’s “divide and conquer” to weaken the US, and take advantage, control of a man like Obama, in the name of oil, say, for Russia?
How can I use Obama’s strategy to weaken the US governmental infrastructure, and destroy the government from within, without firing a shot?
How can I use a flaming idiot like Cheney, and his crew, to further gain control of the world’s resources, if I understand Cheney’s weaknesses, which are mainly “he’s a paranoid moron?”
See?
Cheney and Rove’s methods don’t work at all, bullying never did.
They only work for Republican enemies.
They could never take Hillary down with that old news…The country has been through that at a cost of 42 million dollars and they are still standing….Point is they do a good job for the country.
Yikes,
You can forget it. As a lifelong Democrat, if Hillary doesn’t get the nomination, I will not support Obama. I’d rather sit out the next four years then see him in office. PERIOD! And we don’t have to stick together anymore because the Democratic Party has made its intentions perfectly clear by lambasting Hillary over the coals, thereby insulting and hurting her supporters. Why then stick together? For a party that doesn’t respect and honour part of its membership?
I’m sorry that you feel that way, but I hope that you do not vote for McCain. He is a horrible misogynist with a temper who clearly has no understanding of the situation in Iraq. It would be very dangerous to have him as a president.
How is he different from Obama, then?
Business, and money people don’t often know what they’re doing, when they put these incompetents in, it doesn’t quite work out they way they hoped.
Put Bush in office, and admire Republican tactics?
But Bush lost an asymmetric war in less than seven years, and this affected Wall Street, too, the fallout hasn’t begun to start, despite what they think they see.
So, why was it a good idea for rich people to support sub par candidates, concentrating the media in the hands of the wealthy, allowing all these dirty tricks?
You put in an unpatriotic moron, and you give someone else control, and don’t mean the people who put him there.
When did Obama call his wife a prostitute (trollop to be exact) and the disgusting “c” word? McCain did both to his own wife Cindy. If he’s willing to call his own wife a word that rhymes with punt in a fit of rage, what on earth will he do when he gets upset with foreign leaders? He is a loose cannon who should not have control of our national security.
As for Iraq, McCain needs to have Lieberman by his side all of the time to give him a quick jab in the ribs every time he forgets who is fighting who.
Say what you want about Obama, no matter how angry you are towards him, he is nowhere near as repulsive as McCain.
we disagree. bye troll.
Yikes, we have a Democratic candidate who’s positions are similar to Obama’s — but much more thorough IMO, who has withstood years of attack from the Rethugs and their MSM enablers (proving she can take anything they dish out) and seems to have complete control of her temper (or she would have kicked Keith Oblubberhead’s a** by now).
I believe when the dust has settled she will be the winner of the nomination, so I’ll be voting for Hillary in November. I hope you will consider it as well.
Regardless of my previous anger, I will vote for Hillary if she wins.
Thats big of you yikes, considering we all know The Fix is in.
Obama tried to help a cousin bring Sharia law to Kenya.
Now Sharia law has women turned into slaves–into property covered head to toe as one of several wives.
I think a man who occasionally fights with his wife and uses Navy language is better than Obama.
Obama’s own supporters call Hillary and all the C-word, the B-word………….and…..
F-ing whores.
Bye trolls. Millions of women say No to Obama (men too!).
Yes that’s his cousin Odinga over in Kenya. The one who lost the election so decided to commit genocide even as we speak. He says Obama checks in with him regularly.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBJouPhws1M
He is to me!!!
He is a lot scarier. I think he is a sleeper cell.
yikes, it would be extremely dangerous to have obama as president.
When the DNC — Dean & DB decided to strip Fl an MI of their votes — the damage was done to the Democratic Party.
Obama has run one of the most deliberately sexist campaigns in memory.
Yes Obama will be Swift Boated — they don’t have to make up anything.
That church Obama went to and the videos of Rev. Wright will yield plenty — and then there’s that fancy house that Obama and Mrs. Obama bought. She is as dirty as he is.
Whereas the smart choice would be to go with Senator Clinton — she is still standing and so much smarter (with solutions for the problems) then either of the candidates with willies.
So concerned Trolls — stop with the unity crap. Us old farts will NOT vote for the swift boat target. He is not qualified to even be a Senator — he hasn’t done THAT job yet.
Call me a troll if it makes you feel better. I’ve already been called much worse, though I don’t believe I’ve called any of you names.
Both are politicians with dirty pasts. Have you bothered to look into Burson-Marsteller? Do you realize that Mark Penn is the CEO of a company that defended:
Blackwater, EXXON VALDIS, Argentina’s fascist JUNTA, Saudi Arabia on SEPTEMBER 14 2001 (after September 11th), the Mexican government in promotion of NAFTA, Romanian Dictator NICOLAE CEAUCESCU, South Korea (to avoid discussion of human rights issues during the 1988 Olympics), THE UNITA - The US sponsored Angolan guerrilla army, AND BABCOCK AND WILCOX (for Three Mile Island nuclear accident)
Look into just about any successful politician’s past and friends and you’re going to find some skeletons. The Clintons are definitely no exception. I will take an overzealous pastor with radical notions left over from the 60’s over an association with the likes of Mark Penn any day.
You just earned your title.
It’s not the skeletons in Obama’s closet that frighten me.
It’s HIM!
If you look into any politican’s closet the devil is liable to jump out.
This is purely about a man who began his campaign declaring that he was different, better. HE IS NOT.
And worse, his command of the issues is not as fluid as Hillary’s. She can speak without script on the issues. Obama only stutters and says ‘uh’ a lot. Very much like Bush.
Then there’s the experience factor. He has 3 full years in the Senate. Hillary, 1 term +. He has NO EXPOSURE TO DIPLOMATIC CIRCLES and God knows we need someone right now who has. Sorry, but 4 years in Indonesia as a mere child does not count. And suddenly springing on everybody that you spent 3 weeks in Pakistan while still in college is pretty paultry too. Can you imagine what the Swiftboaters are going to make out of those 3 weeks in Pakistan.
Geez, the Ad Campaigns write themselves.
Besides, no where on his resume does he have any experience listed with American allies. And he blew that opportunity by not convening a single committee meeting as Chairman of his Nato Foreign Relations Committee. He was too busy running for president.
The man is unelectable.
The man is Leland Gaunt handing out Needful Things.
I like that likeness.
These notions are not left over from the sixties. this is not what we (African American) worked and marched for with MLK. His message is nothing like Obama…Rcae baiting when necessary to get his way. MLK thought people should raise themselves up by hard work and integrity…as long as they had the opportunity….Obama and his family have been recipients of all the good in America. So has the racist Wright who juts moved into this 1.9 milliondollar house and still complaining. GIVE ME A BREAK. BEEN THERE DONE THAT. I am AA amd will vote for MCCain or write in Hillary if necessary.Stop the guilt sham.
Thanks, Nette60. Why don’t people understand this? Wow, imagine if someone like Martin Luther King were the candidate? That would be someone I could support. I believed him to be authentic, non-violent, and non-racist. He had a powerful message.
Obama is no MLK. And he’s no RFK either.
The GOP won’t even need to “Swiftboat” Obama. They can just “Rubber-ducky” him.
