Hillary’s Team Needs Your Input!
By Fleaflicker on April 18, 2008 at 4:17 PM in Fund raising, Geoff Garin, Hillary Clinton, Howard Wolfson, Pennsylvania
Hillary’s campaign is reaching out to us and we need to reach right back. The following memo came from Hillary’s team and we owe it to her and to them to follow through. So please take a little time today to compose your thoughts and then please respond to this request. Hillary is counting on us as much as we are counting on her.
Dear Exceptional Hillary Supporters,
You’re an important part of our team, and I want to know what you think.
You’ve probably heard about some of the big changes going on in Hillary’s campaign lately. My name is Geoff Garin, and along with Howard Wolfson, I’m now leading the campaign’s strategy team. My job is to plot the path to the nomination and lay out the strategy that will get us there.
There are two reasons why I said yes immediately when Hillary asked me to do this job. First, I believe that the Hillary Clinton I know will be a great president who will do great things for our country. Second, I am confident she can win.
Let me lay out for you the situation as I see it right now. The Pennsylvania primary is approaching — just four days to go — and a win there will do two things: give us momentum that will carry us through the races that follow, and show that Hillary is still the best choice to beat John McCain in the big, competitive states that will decide the race in November.
The Obama campaign is outspending us three-to-one in Pennsylvania. But I’m confident we can win in Pennsylvania, and I know Hillary is too. She is campaigning hard and really connecting with the voters there.
The voters in Pennsylvania know that she is the candidate who understands their lives and respects their values, and that every day she will be a president who stands up for them instead of looking down on them.
If I had to point to two of our best weapons in this campaign, one would be the incredible strength of our candidate, and the other would be the phenomenal role people like you have played in sustaining this campaign, even through some pretty tough times. Everyone from Hillary on down has made sure I know about the vital role her online supporters have played in this race.
I made a personal commitment to Hillary that her campaign would be as good and as strong and as smart as she is. And I want to ask you a favor to help me keep that commitment. In the days and weeks (and hopefully months) ahead, I want to know what you think — about the state of the race, our campaign strategy, or your ideas for doing things differently. You’ve made an investment in this campaign, and I want your input as we plan the days, weeks, and months to come.
I can’t promise that I can reply personally to every single message — but I can promise to read them all.
Click here to send me your comments, thoughts, and ideas about our campaign.
I’m really looking forward to reading what you have to say, and to working with you to help Hillary win!
Thanks,
Geoff Garin

Thanks for posting this for everyone.
Geoff Garin is doing an excellent job! Hillary looks very relaxed and confident lately and I think its no accident — his strategy is working!
Ciao,

Thanks for the post…
If you are thanking me, your welcome.
Speaking of Hillary looking relaxed and confident, this video is amazing!:

All the whining from her competitor and his trolls is just diversionary noise.
Remember to keep focused on the big win coming in Pennsylvania. And don’t focus on the MSM and the polling data. They MSM is still trying to keep our morale down, even though Obama had a horrible performance at the debate and continues to add more troubles to his Wrightgate, NAFTAgate, Ayersgate, Rezkogate, Fingergate, Whinegate, etc. ball and chain.
It must be really tough dragging that ball and chain around nowadays.
There’s a propaganda war going on that we will win if we keep our eyes on the big prize. Stay focused and positive and remember to take a breather once in a while to re-group.
Hmmmmm… Should there be a “Piss-poor-debate-performance-gate”?
If this election were sexual intercourse, the Obamba candidacy would be premature ejaculation?
Sure seems so!
Ciao,
G-N-G
>>> If this election were sexual intercourse, the Obamba candidacy would be premature ejaculation?
No, it would be, Couldn’t Get the Nozzle in the Tank time.
Make more than one “answering North Carolina questions” ad.
This is more like it — getting back to the issues that will define the GE and the winner.
Let it be known too, that Fox News isn’t just covering Hillary because she’s red meat, they know their team is on the ropes. If they appear to be nice to Hillary they can save some face, because if it appears she loses and Obama wins, they’ll be blamed for helping.
The GOP has a very poor candidate this election. If the Dems lose to McInsane, put a fork in it for at least 8 more years — as there’s no other Dem in the ranks groomed for the presidency.
Middle fingers and whines isn’t going to define this election — get out of junior high folks. Time to get to work, as there’s only 4 days left to the next primaries.
I’m no Republican, but I really appreciate their discipline. They stick to the script. Dems need to do the same and not get sidetracked. This is about issues and solutions, not who told the dirtiest joke by the water cooler.
Get those SOLUTIONS off to Geoff. He has a river of whine, but one wheel of cheese.
She’s not on the ropes, Chris, it’s a pattern this weekend, “Hillary’s on the ropes” again, from whom, Axelrod?
Those guys are so inept, it’s funny, Axelrod’s amateur hour.
They’re being trolled, they’re too stupid to see it.
Who said that? Read.
And read this message I sent her campaign…

Saw the notice from No Quarter.net about emailing (a pro-Hillary hangout).
I’ve been following presidential elections since Carter was elected president in 1976. Remember the hard times and good times. Also remember when my state and region were dark blue. That’s no more, and it’s no more because just like Zell Miller said — he didn’t leave the party, the party left him.
Hillary offers the best chance in a decade of someone understanding issues of working folks, not just college kids living on their parent’s dime, that so defines Obama’s campaign. She also can carry this very prized Southern vote, not due to slick rallies, but because she actually lived here and knows the issues first hand.
I’m tired of candidates who don’t talk about the issues that worry our city, and region. That talk to that 10% that doesn’t even live here. We lost the mills; our wages are of the “service” industry; and I worry that my sister will lose her job she worked on for 30 years, if her factory is closed. Furthermore, I’m worried that my values of God, Country and Guns will become extinct. Never has it been this personal, as it never been so in my face, and literally trying to yank each from my mind, heart and hands.
This is a time when Democrats could finally do something meaningful — if they don’t shoot themselves in the foot again. All the spinning and PR doesn’t change the hard facts: our jobs are thinning out; our way of life is eroding; and voters are looking to be Independents as an alternative — as the parties aren’t listening to the worries of the common man and woman.
Hillary needs to connect with us, and with more than just stats and charts. Show that we can count on her when the remaining factory doors are shut, workers can find some way to make ends meet — and not take a pay cut and basically told to get in back of the line and shut up. Reagan did that (NOT going back to those mile long unemployment lines!), and the American worker sure doesn’t need history repeated.
Appreciate that Hillary is the candidate that’s connecting to those who make America with a capital “A”, and all the others who aren’t into party antics. I’m crossing over to vote for her, as she lived in the South and know our values, unlike Obama and McCain — and because it’s about time a woman cleaned the White House of it’s trash.
Harry Truman was told to give his opponent, “hell”; the same I’m asking Hillary to give to win the nomination. No more wimpy Democrats, this time a woman who defines the pioneer spirit of the Plains women, who can give as well as she could take.
Never back down, because there’s millions of folks like myself who needs a champion. Who feels comfortable in her skin; who knows politics; and who has that “touch” so missing in connecting to the traditional Democrat base.
Hillary we’re here, we’re being drowned out by the media and Obama wingnuts, but stay true. Don’t stray, shoot straight, and let’s see you in the White House on January 20th, with an upset that began the Democrat party, when Old Hickory won it from the Adams.
W00t! Hillary FTW (eat that ‘net roots!).
MEMO to HRC:
L’audace! Toujours L’audace!
But, shucks, honey, you already knew that.
A new poll could be made to determine who won that debate.
Did Obama win the debate? possible answers:
Yes
No
Present
Absent
He’ll register quite a few in the final categories, much like his voting record.
I sent a number of ideas. Thanks for the post.
I have already emailed SEVERAL suggestions to the team. I hope they take them into account. One of them was that I definitely thought her image could be softened up a bit and I think we can all agree on that one. I suggested that one of the thehillaryiknow.com videos could be shortened and made into a TV ad. There were a couple specific ones I suggested because I did get very emotional when I heard their story and of what Hillary did for them. What do you guys think?
Rachel,
I did add a PS to my suggestions to them, asking that they make that one video in particular more visible (the one from the father that is a nurse, and his son who could not afford the bone marrow transplant), I tear up every time I see that one.
Hopefully more people also suggested that. That one video in particular should be an ad — or that father should be appearing with her. It’s that powerful.
Here is what I sent:
Let’s step it up. Let’s show the world what Clintonistas are made of. We are scrappy, tireless and never give up. Send cash if you can. It feels great.
I meant to reply to your comment on Friday, and just got around to it today (because it was STILL that important to me). I sent this No Quarter article (with Geoff Garin’s email), and, specifically, YOUR comment, to some of my friends who are also loyal HRC supporters. As I said to them, “I found this comment particularly intelligent and articulate, and the sentiments expressed in his last paragraph nearly brought a tear to my eye.”
So thank you for supporting this very qualified and deserving candidate as you have, and thank you for sharing your thoughts with us here. Your words were very inspiring
Quit dissin’ MoveOn.org. You can’t win without activist support. You can’t win anyway.
You mean calling for artillery on your own foxhole, support? When it doesn’t eliminate the bad guys, just your own, like this?

That’s not help, that’s destruction.
This blog post sums up the reasons why the troll’s are boiling over with anger:
I concur.

This is what millions of Americans believe in. The millions of Americans that will never cross over, if these Far-Left types keep hijacking the Democrat party!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EJ3O575ZxbE
You can hate O’Reilly as much as Chris Matthews, but you can’t change the belief of folks who see Far-Left Liberals as literal Martians.
And O’Reilly has some advice…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uthmDhZ3DU
[Why on Earth did Hillary support a website that wants to eat her for breakfast???? Does she now know the Far-Left are piranhas that think nothing of eating their own????]
Fox and conservatives don’t want a country destroyer like Obama in office, and even they will swallow pride and lean over to give the gal a hand (besides, between McInsane and Obamartian, what choice is there????).
Ideologues on both sides are destroying America. The Clinton’s more moderate roll up your sleeves and get things done philosophy is not sexy and does not easily rally the sheep who don’t want to think for themselves.
You have the ditto heads on the right and the “yeah!” folks on the left nodding their heads in agreement with every utterance by Our Lord and Savior Obama. Or whatever you call the far-left non-thinkers, I guess the current term is “Kool-aid drinkers.”
Extremism is easy to sell. Obama and McCain equal a de facto Bush III presidency, more of the same naive idealism wrapped in a flag. In McCain’s case, he means well and its the American flag. I have no clue which flag Obama is wrapped in but I do not trust he means well at all. His actions cause me vast concern.
I think Hill is gonna pull off the miracle, but if she did not, I am ABO (anyone but Obama) and will either abstain, write in Hill or vote for McCain. I think I’ll write in Hill.
I don’t have any issue with the strange bed fellows / marriage of convenience thing between Faux News and Hill supporters. It’s only temporary anyway.
BTW, keeping free-thinkers on the same page is akin to herding cats.

Have 10. Plenty of practice! lol
Funny seeing mom walk to one side of the yard, and they follow here there. Then she walks to the other side, and this mass of fur followers here over.
Found her secret: feeding them directly from the fridge…”Want some fish?”, and there’s 20 bright eyes a smiling!
Hmmmmmmm………
Wowsa.
So you should be in charge of this blog then.
Way to go!
And I am sure these people are fully prepared for the childish negative attacks they will suffer for merely exercising their Constitutional freedom of association. Pro-Hillary activists may want to contact these people and thank them for their wisdom and courage.

I got the same email and here is what I wrote. Any seconds, please?
Dear Goeff,
We have to get MI and FL seated, now. There will only be a very short time in Denver to do any maneuvering. My biggest fear is that Hillary will concede the nomination to Obama rather then ripping apart the party. That will make me sick.
I do not recognize the Democratic Party of today. Perhaps it has always been this way but I never knew it. My loyalty is to Hillary not the party, but I know she is loyal to the party and so I fear she will concede, I know Obama never will.
Tonight on some talk show Rachel Maddow said there will be pitch forks in the streets if Obama is denied the nomination. I have heard veiled threats on that order before.
If talking heads can say that Hillary can not criticize Obama even if what she says is true because she is some how validating the Republicans attack in the fall. WHY ARE THEY THEN ALLOWED TO VALIDATE RIOTS IN DENVER IF OBAMA IS NOT NOMINATED?
These two issues need to be addressed now. Please read this. Get someone to finance a mass mailing to all registered democrats with a up or down vote on seating MI and Fl. Dean may be able to say it is not valid but it will carry a lot of weight.
GET OUT AHEAD OF BOTH THESE ISSUES!
Well.. I’m a happy girl. I responded to the request set forth by Geoff of the Clinton campaign, and I was rewarded today as I watched Hillary with Maya Angelou.
I had replied to the email with a rather detailed suggestion that Hillary needs to really highlight immediate actions to help Americans with the exorbitant gas prices… and also someone needs to address the oil trading, stockpiling of oil to work the market, and how it has driven up the price. Well.. today in NC, someone had asked her about gas prices, and she delivered. She hit every point I’d hoped she’d hit, gave mondo detail, and got the most rousing response of the afternoon for her willingness to take that subject on.
So.. I have no clue if my comments really made a difference, but I’m just thrilled that she made that adjustment to her gas price solutions on the campaign trail. I urge EVERYONE to please send those emails in to give them suggestions. I really do think they’re listening.
I’m a volunteer in Charlotte, NC. Everyday, I commit myself to do something for Hillary, like: “Honk for Hillary” in almost every known intersection in Charlotte, everyday in different places led by Kenneth and myself. We want Hillary visible in every corner of Charlotte at least (maybe other group can do this, too). It’s fun!
And this one is crazy, we go out after midnight and plant Hillary signs (we’re like Hillary Vampires!)
Of course, we do phone banking, too.
I go out with Hillary button on my lapel to meet Hillary supporters and the undecided. Hopefully I can make a difference to those who can’t make up their mind and make them a supporter of Hillary at the end.
Last but not the least, I try to respond to any news that so negative about Hillary. One was published in Charlotte Observer, though. Every night,I blogged.
These are the samples that you can do,too. As Carmina said ” We’re Here to Win”. And I add “at any cost.”
what I sent
Hillary can remind people about the ways Bill Clinton helped expand the Strategic Petorleum Reserve to fuel the boom.
Petroleum*
I was offended by Obama throwing rap signs to the audience in SC. He might thing this old fogey didn’t catch what he was doing but I did! His “dirt of my shoulder” gesture his “finger to the law” gesture, flipping the bird to Hillary, his smirk when the audience “got it” and started cheering was so disgusting, so UN presidential I was sick. He is not Presidential material. This type of behavior is immature and divisive. I am sure many American’s did not see or did not understand what he was doing but he was giving a covert shout out to his “homeys” which was extremely juvenile. Of course, the MSM is not reporting it or explaining what he was doing. Throwing signs?? I am still shocked he would stoop that low with his Chicago smackdown. He is disgusting. I am sure all the kids think it is very “cool” and “hip” but I don’t, I think it is ageist and sexist. His playing 99 problems after NH was equally disgusting and equally unreported! These things alone disqualify him for the Presidency. His inexperience and associating with racists and criminals and terrorists notwithstanding.
My idea was that CNN should honor Hillary’s agreement to appear in the next debate later this month. Of course the crybaby Obama has backed out. That’s his problem. CNN should still honor Senator Clinton’s commitment: they could change it to a TOWN HALL where Hillary answers questions from NC citizens.
If they did this, watch Obama scurry to get back in, the same way he horned in on Hillary’s Colbert appearance, after refusing to accept his own appearance….no doubt scared that Colbert would pull a HOPE BONG out on him.
Tell CNN that they should still honor the slot Hillary committed to!
Here’s what I sent to Geoff Garin:
Let me first just say this: God, how I wish you had replaced Mark Penn after Iowa. I was already worried about the strategy and direction of her campaign even then. As Harold Ickes said not too long ago, “she is SO much better than this campaign.” Not a truer thought spoken.
That said, I thought you may be interested in a petition that a friend/co-worker emailed to me:
You can view this petition at: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/tell-a-friend/220211
I not only signed it (#815), but also found solace in reading the thoughts and feelings of so many others who share similar views about the “compare and contrast” between HRC and BO. In essence, obviously, there is no comparison.
And, yes, I have contributed several times to this campaign, including the 9/14/07 event at Magic Johnson’s home, and the 4/3/08 event at Wilshire Theater in Beverly Hills. (Not to mention a couple times online!)
From the bottom of my heart, I wish YOU and the campaign the best of luck.
Ok, if I can keep it simple Mr. Garin, Terry needs to get local grassroot support with the phone net, and other outlets to give her what she needs to finish. 2 The D.N.C. and the pundit,s are out to due her in. If you look at those Irish pundit they must all be working for Kennedy because they have racked her up. Time and Time again they hit her and you guys aren,t hitting back, Start hitting back! 3. If she doesn,t get a fair hearing and those Supers who a lot of them have been male and if they come out against her they should know that it will come back on them from those supporter who will make it known about there jumping the gun come there local cycle.because the smart move would be to claim a independent role and take on both McCain and Obama and if you do the real math you will see SHE WINS!
