I have happily filled out my application to un-register as a democrat. If Dean and Pelosi think they're going to shove this candidate down my throat they are sadly fucking mistaken.

Not just using Right wing talking points from the 90's but using "Harry and Louise" ads as well.

No real Democrats except Fauxgressives like Obamafan-atics would support someone like him. He's not just another politician, he's another lying, slimy politician. What makes him worse is the saintly proclamations about being different.

the problem with the acd is that it is misleading because all economic analysis of her plan indicates she has more affordability protections than his, not t mention the fact tat hemandates coverage for kids, so technically then he also forces u to buy insurance. and, of course, he is usng the right wing talking points from the 90s that undermined universal healthcare. now barack wil have no credibility as prez to get reform passed. one thing to try and undermine hillary, another to undermine the whole uhc movement, which he has done.

I tend to agree. But it seems to me that both sides are using half truths. That's politics.

I normally just peruse this site - but after reading this claptrap I had to chime in.

The Obama ad claim is a classic case of using a half-truth. In fact, if you watched the ad, you see the words "Willing to Have Workers Wages Garnished If They Refuse to Buy Insurance."

But here is the lie - which is left to the voiceover to tell:

It forces everyone to buy insurance, even if you can't afford it. And you pay a penalty if you don't.

The last paragraph in the quotation you cited as evidence puts the voiceover in dispute. The Obama ad also says that his plan saves $2500 for the typical family versus Senator Clinton's plan, which is not true (Jonathan Gruber of MIT studied both Clinton's UHCP and Obama's plan, and found the opposite to be true - Obama's plan is $1700 more expensive per person.)

That's what makes Obama's ad a lie.

If someone doesn't like their present health plan, they must choose one from what congress has. There are 250 different plans. With every single person having healthcare, it should really be a lot cheaper. It will come out of a person's salary just like social security is deducted. It would be nice if they could get it down to $100 a month which would be $25.00 a week. If you don't have everyone covered, it is not universal healthcare. If people can opt out, the price of a policy will not be low enough to make it worth it. Every civilized country has universal healthcare. The US is the only country that doesn't. Don't you think Americans deserve universal healthcare with no pre-existing illness clauses?

Obama's ad is correct about Hillary's health plan.
From ABC on Feb 3 08
Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton said Sunday she might be willing to have workers' wages garnisheed if they refuse to buy health insurance to achieve coverage for all Americans.
Clinton has not always specified the enforcement measures she would embrace, but when pressed during a television interview, she said: "I think there are a number of mechanisms" that are possible, including "going after people's wages, automatic enrollment."
Clinton said such measures would apply only to workers who can afford health coverage but refuse to buy it, which puts undue pressure on hospitals and emergency rooms.

So tell me how Obama is lying about Hillary's health care plan? In fact, do a google search on his ad's claim.

I got 12 out of 14, but only because I knew ahead of time what they were looking for.

As for the ads, BO isn't tied to special interest??? Haven't we already gone over this 110 times? Guess we'll just have to keep hammerin' (thanks, bartcop.com) for as long as it takes.

I can just imagine how they got the quote from the Times-Tribune (whoohoo!) person saying Hill would "further deep divisiveness." An Obama campaign operative interviews someone from the newspaper and gives them a leading question: "Do you think Hillary's negative tactics will further deep divisiveness?" All the person has to say is "Yes," and voila! there's the quote.

I really think a lot of this support comes from the perception that Barack is a pretty man. You certainly see swoons in a lot of women's eyes when he approaches them on the campaign trail. Men, too. It's weird. But I guess in our kind of culture, where looks are seen as very important, people fall for a pretty face. There's actually scientific research based on the fact that people believe that "what is good is beautiful."

I think Hillary is beautiful. And she will do a beautiful job running this country. Pretty is as pretty does!
