What happens when you’re afraid, Barack?

Barack Obama, when he was safely ensconced in elite environs, opined that “bitter” smalltown white people — supposedly afraid because of economic uncertainty — “cling” to guns, God and bigotry. But, now, we suspect that Obama himself is scared. And, watching Barack’s actions in recent days, we’re spotting clues that he, his campaign and his surrogates are indeed consumed by fear.

Barack Obama is afraid: He has cancelled the debate in North Carolina (and we have proof, to be posted soon).

Barack Obama is afraid: He has openly predicted he’ll lose tomorrow.

Barack Obama is afraid: He has gotten notably “nasty” in his attacks.

Barack Obama is afraid: He has not taken any questions for 10 days from traveling reporters, who are “struggling” to speak with him.

Barack’s campaign is afraid: He has outspent Hillary three-to-one in Pennsylvania, and shattered all records for expenditures in any political race in Pennsylvania’s history.

Barack’s campaign is afraid: He has outspent Hillary by $7,000,000 in television ads alone.

Barack Obama is afraid: His campaign has set an imaginary 11% as the percentage Hillary Clinton must win by tomorrow.

Barack Obama and surrogates are afraid: His mouthpiece Ed Schultz — that bloviating AM radio host — just told Fox News’s Neil Cavuto that Clinton must win by 15% tomorrow.

Barack Obama’s campaign is afraid: They say that Hillary’s new ad is fear-mongering.

But the worst of the “spin” coming from him as well as his campaign and surrogates is to call Hillary’s supporters a bunch of racists. It is indeed a sad day when otherwise intelligent people are now so fearful about a looming loss in Pennsylvania that they are willing to chuck their own dignity, credibility and character to make such a demeaning, indefensible charge. Even a heretofore respected “progressive” blogger has strongly inferred that Obama can’t win in parts of Pennsylvania because of “racial resistance,” a coy phrasing that is “code” to indicate that all of those white voters are driven to vote against Obama because of the color of his skin.

Here’s the skinny on the racist gambit: Barack Obama’s hardcore followers have erected the lowest form of excuses, that are in fact racist, in order to pin the blame for Obama’s impending loss on “typical white people” — especially white men:

This is an election about whether the people of Pennsylvania hate blacks more than they hate women. And when I say people, I don’t mean people, I mean white men. … […]

[T]he outcome of the general election will depend on whether enough of them vote for McCain. A lot of them will: white men cannot be relied on, as all of us know who have spent a lifetime dating them.

– That’s written by a highly prominent Obama supporter on the pages of Huffington Post today …

PhotobucketJust who is that prominent Obama follower? She is Carl Bernstein’s “bitter” ex, about whom she wrote a “bitter” tell-all in Heartburn, a novel and screenplay.

Ephron is also the writer for You’ve Got Mail, Sleepless in Seattle, and the aptly-named upcoming film Flipped, billed as a “perfect introduction to the adolescent war between the sexes.” (And it sounds like Nora is still fighting an adolescent battle between the sexes as well as between sexism and racism.)

Hell, the title of her HuffPo article is “White Men.”

In good part, Barack Obama’s remarks to that wealthy San Francisco crowd were, in fact, racist remarks about “typical white people” in small Pennsylvanian towns who “cling” to guns and religion.

What would Nora Ephron know about those typical white men, given that she is a wealthy, elite Hollywood screenwriter who socializes in the most select, monied social circles?

And what would Barack Obama know about typical white men, given that he prefers the company of corrupt elite politicians in large-city Chicago as well as anti-American radicals like William Ayers and homophobic preachers like Jeremiah Wright and James Meeks?

Except for his occasional forays into rural Illinois to win his Senate seat in 2004, and this year’s occasional trips to rural America to woo voters, he never is around “typical white men.”

And here’s what Nora Ephron and Barack Obama don’t know: They don’t know that these “typical white men,” many of whom I know and live near and who are good, good neighbors to me, would NEVER not vote for a qualified candidate because of the color of his skin. Oh, maybe a very few would be racist enough to let that factor stop them. But the vast majority of those “typical white men” are better than that. They have more character than that. And they know REAL LIFE a hell of a lot more than Nora Ephron or Barack Obama do.

But I will tell you one thing about those “typical white men” that I know well: They count a candidate’s character and who he has associated himself with as IMPORTANT indicators of what the candidate is made of.

The Washington Post’s elite television columnist Tom Shales may not think that the questions in that ABC debate last Wednesday were important, but the “typical white men” who I know were GLAD to hear those questions. Those questions told them 1) the history of Obama’s choices in his associates and campaign benefactors, and 2) how Obama would react when confronted with a stressful question. And they saw that Obama could not handle the tough questions that relate to his character and his choices in his associations.

Now, Joe Scarborough is not so removed from the “typical white men” he has known during his days before and in his years as a Florida congressman that he doesn’t recognize the importance of questions about Obama’s longtime disturbing, close relationships with Rev. Jeremiah Wright and unrepentant terrorist William Ayers. And that was one point he was trying to make the other day on MSNBC, in a heated exchange with far-left Air America elitist Rachel Maddow (who is one of those “political analysts” who’s in the tank for Obama but won’t come out and say so, which she should):

Good for Joe for walking off the set of that pathetic program. When I watched the tape at Huffington Post, I paused it for a moment. Then I saw this, and simply had to capture the image for all of you to see:

Photobucket

As I wrote in a comment in another thread today, these elitist Obama followers have already set up the “narrative” for Barack Obama’s loss tomorrow, particularly if Hillary Clinton throttles him.

i can already hear the carefully-phrased commentaries that will come from the MSNBO commentators Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews. Can’t you? Perhaps Olbermann and Matthews can borrow the phrase “racial resistance” to explain away Obama’s loss and to pin the blame on smalltown white people.

His loss will be remembered, among the elite, as the fault of those “typical white men.”

I doubt that economic hard times make people want to buy a gun, search for God, or become a bigot.  But I do know from watching Barack and his campaign during the last week, that fear is the root of racism.  And who is showing fear?

As a “typical white man,” I hate false accusations of racism as much as I hate racism. Both stink, and Obama has practiced the first — that’s the reason I could never vote for him. Ever. I’m against all forms of racism. When will Rev. Wright’s brand of black racism against whites no longer be acceptable by progressives?

Answer…Who is Bitter…??The One who has been taught that Black people should be Bitter against Rich White People.. by his pastor..Mentor..and good Friend.Jeremiah Wright..who Reeks of Bitterness..Who Rants Bitterness..and Raciasm..

The “ONE” whose wife Michelle..has displayed the same bitte3rness by saying that only now, for the first time in hwer life, is she Proud of the United States…apparently only because it now is Empowering the Black Liberation Moverment and Black Power through
its Political support of Barack..who is mindeed getting afraid Now that He and his Background are being Exposed and he is losing His Composure while Playing His “Front Man” Role for the People supporting Him..

I too..hate Racism..and I believed that Racial Equality was making good Progress in the United States..as I see many good examples that have come out of the Peaceful Efforts of many who brought us through the Racial and Social and Political transformations of the 1960’s..

For Example…I could easily Vote for Mayor Nutter, and can’t imagine him flipping Hillary Off or Brushing his shoulder off just to get laughs from the Inmature People He Appeals to…

Yes..They are Scared..They should be..I for One, will not tolerate any Kind of Socialist/Marxist Coup of the United States Government..and in My Opinion..Thats what I see developing..If the Weather Underground is still HIDDING Underground..I Hope they all Drown in the Coming “STORM”…..

Comment by Patrick Henry | 2008-04-21 18:10:23

NOTE…I meant the Inmature People that OBAMA Appeals too..( some are just Uninformed..so i don’t blame them..Hopefully the Media will still Realize that there should be RESPONSIBLE Journalism..

George W. Bush was Bad enough..We don’t need a Marxist type Backlash as a result..

This is not a GAME..

The moral hazard is non existent for that crew,
or has been.

When there is accountability, it will be less of a game, and better decisions will be made.

Everything from the war, to the economy, to the decision to torture was made because that crew felt they operated in a vacuum, no matter what they did, they figured they’d walk.

But they lost on every count, and at a certain point, the boys have to have a come to God moment, and then, oh boy, I’m glad I’m not them…

They are dumb, meeting their level of absolute incompetence, from Bush, to Obama.

Bush can’t handle the wars, the nation, neither can Cheney or the neocons, Obama can’t handle Clinton, Hamas can’t handle Palestine.

Yeah, great looking bunch, the fifty plus one tactic is PURE genius.

For morons.

This isn’t a reply to this post. But i just have to say it: I detest Rachel Maddow. She is fake and hollow and annoying and pseudo-intellectual, pseudo-sensical and I would like her to go away now. I guess that’s how I feel about Voldemort as well. Couldn’t they just go somewhere, away from all of us sane people, and just tell each other how wonderful each other is. Couldn’t that fulfill their incredible need for continuous attention. Huh, couldn’t it? Please tell me and Virginia that there is a Santa Claus and that these two icks will be going away soon.

Comment by John | 2008-04-21 20:36:19

What? You dont like Rachel Maddow? What about her “ask Doctor Maddow to look up something on Wikipedia for you” segment?

Seriously, though, I detest her too, and for the same reasons you mention: she’s a phony, screechy pious little snob who is just so damned certain she knows what’s best for everyone. And she clearly supports Obama but lies when she says she doesn’t have a preference.

As for Ed Schultz, raise your hand if you are sick and tired of that bloviating gasbag Populist poser “from the h’rtland” telling us who we are supposed to vote for. Go gargle with that gas additive you can’t stop pimping, you fat fraud.

Sandy– me too! Brian Williams had her on today, 4/22 and was singing her praises — how brilliant and wonderful she is, people do you know… she’s a Rhodes Scholar blahblahblah. But, most disgusting was after that intro, he asked Rachel to describe, once again, her 2002 story… the night that she cried, wept, sobbed, with Hillary’s vote. My god, it was so pathetic, especially for Williams, I actually respected him once upon a time.

So, were you one the Obama supporters pushing aside a retired teacher at my Texas precinct caucus to bloch access to the delegate sheet? Were you the Obama supporter who suddenly appeared with dozens of blank sign-in sheets that the caucus Chair had no control over? Are you the Obama supporting Caucus Secretary who took a 76-75 Obama-Clinton split at my Texas Precinct Caucus and turned it into 2/3-1/3 delegate split when it was reported to my County HQ?

If so, you aren’t a Lone Star Liberal. A Chimay-sipping Marxist, perhaps, but no Lone Star (I always preferred Pearl anyway, partially because Lyndon drank it even though Bird owned a piece of Lone Star, and because they didn’t use corn).

Uh, no, I was the one who was voting for Obama in a caucus here in Houston that went 60-40 for Obama. It was a perfectly orderly event, over in something like an hour. One voter, a Hillary supporter in fact, said to the room, “There are no losers tonight. In November, we will be presenting a unified front in favor of the Democratic nominee.” Everyone applauded.

Comment by beebop | 2008-04-21 19:14:49

Was that the caucus where the Clinton supporters were added to his list or were told that they needed to go to another location?

Funny how we are always hearing CAUCUS from Obamabots, but never hear that in VOTING ELECTIONS she beats him. Why do you suppose that is? Maybe because voting is more democratic and DEMOCRATIC? Speaking of votes and Democratic … Michigan? Florida? The fact that the presuming Democratic candidate is ADVOCATING DISENFRANCHISEMENT is something that I never thought I would live to see … everyone had an idea for revotes and Obama said “nope, nope, nope.” Okey Doke.

To be honest, I don’t particularly like the language, either — but then again, SusanUnPC didn’t start it, and she’s merely responding in kind to the abuse that’s been offered up by the Obama campaign. So I’m not going to be too judgmental here, because Susan’s posts are part of the inevitable result when the Obama campaign started using polarizing language to characterize their political opponents.

And if the Obamalytes don’t like it, they’re certainly welcome to stop their demonization of Hillary at anytime, and I’m sure that Susan will gladly reciprocate in the mutual stacking of arms.

But until then — you go, girl!

The Clinton supporters ALL used our 1 min. to tell about Clinton’s platform — her plans

The Frigging Obamabot thugs ALL used their time to denigrate, bad mouth, slanter and LIE about Senator Clinton. In fact every single “crime” that they claimed Clinton was guilty of — Obama also was “guilty” of — all you have to do is follow the money — where exactly does all of the vast sums of money Obama is able to spend to knock Sen. Clinton out of the race????

I have NEVER in my life heard so much negative crap from one Democratic candidate toward the others and it has been snObama who is doing the mud slinging.

so Mr. NOT a Liberal — go away and tell your Obamabot lies elsewhere. Obama is so horrible that the truth might sound like a lie to idiots who drink too much kook-aid.

Just got back from Wilmington NC- things are not going as peachy as Senator OCharma would like, even though the polls are saying one thing- the ground campaign is not making the headway they should in a State that is destined to be in his win column. The only hard support (I’m in NC) can find for O is around college campuses (university system primarily); he is loathed in the rural areas where I hear a lot of comments about him setting back race relations 20 years, surprising coming from Native Americans and rural whites. (To be clear, NC has worked hard over the years trying to improve relations and we all thought we were getting somewhere. I was rather surprised that this was a concern. I thought it was just a concern with me.)

I’m in NC also and my son is a college student, he says Obama’s comments didn’t play well with the kids in his history class, says they don’t know what he really means when he says something anymore, he is saying different things to different groups and subsets of people, makes even the kids uneasy. I was really surprised to hear this, he said a lot of the kids who were for Obama are no longer for him. Really, really surprised me, of course my own opinion has been diluted by watching far to much of the boyz on the MSM…

Yep! I’ve seen the Dems throw one lame candidate after another up against the GOP machine. Despite all the trying to “stay above the fray” nonsense, they lose…big time. Now that we finally have a fighter, we get yet another “stay above the fray” loser who’s really popular because the media loves him and he avoids any serious scrutiny. So the toughest smartest candidate out there gets shoved aside in favor of the “fresh face” who says pretty things (only as long as there’s a teleprompter handy) yet lacks relevant exerience. Rather than just be disappointed yet again, this time I am taking action. I want to send the DNC a message that they will not forget. Shitting on the base in favor of some elite trendy rockstar is a disaster.

better believe it.

i’ve stayed 4 decades. that’s a lot more loyalty than the obamanuts would’ve shown (or will - when they grow up they’ll probably become repubs, or not vote at all). so don’t give me some phony guilt trip.

if obama’s nominated, i’m gone. it’s not my lack of loyalty - it’s theirs.

bye.

Kevin,

I no longer consider myself a Democrat. So that shit don’t work with me more!

After all the Party has done this Primary Season: from disenfranchising voters in MI & FL, the antics of Brazile, Pelosi, Dean, Kennedy and Kerry, trying to pressure Hillary into quitting, lambasting Hillary’s campaign for being negative while ignoring Obama’s playing of the race card, denigrating the Clinton Administration by saying it was like Bush’s, - fuck the Democratic Party and everything they stand for!

Can I make it any clearer for you?

Now buzz off!

You talking to me?
You talking to ME?
Must be.

I swear, I thought I heard the uncut toe nails of an Obama supporter, clicking across the mahogany floors of BO’s crib.

Kevin, I am the ghost of Obama past, I have scene to show you.
(fade to us looking into the window of a south side Chicago tenement.)

After rubbing the frozen condensation from window we see people getting dressed in winter clothes…to go to bed. They are freezing and desperately looking for someone to help them.

You see Kevin, over by the night stand, the empty water glass? There is no running water in the apartment. The glass in neither half empty or half empty. They are without hope.

How did this happen? Who is responsible for these conditions?

Answer; Rezko bilked the state and made those people suffer. Obama wrote letters of support for him. He even defended a case in court for Rezko for such conditions. Then, as Obama was elected to protect these hopeless souls, he claimed he did not KNOW they were suffering.

(No Kevin, we cannot leave this scene just yet)
Look how run down and in disrepair these dwellings are. They are not fit for man nor beast. You see Tim’s crutches? He no longer needs them because he died from pneumonia.

Why? Because, until you acknowledge Obama lied when he said he did not know of these peoples plight and profited from their misery, you will be forever condemned by the same indifference you endorse Obama with.

I will return you now, Kevin, to await the visits of the ghost of Obama present and future.
Pray they will show you mercy for your blind indifference as you support an immoral person.

We’ve got copies of When Harry Met Sally… and Sleepless in Seattle here. We’ve seen most of Nora’s abortions with her sister and no they’re not at all as good. And of note is Harry/Sally wasn’t her directing - it was Hillary supporter Marti DiBergi aka Rob Reiner.

We’re prepared to throw our copies of Harry/Sally and Sleepless out. Even though we love Meg, Billy, and Tom so much. Why? Because we believe in censorship? Of course not. We’re against all forms of censorship - all forms. Is it vitriol then? No not that either. On this Hillary side of the fence there isn’t much fanaticism. Or fascism. So it isn’t that either.

But frankly the thought for any of us of the prospect of approaching one of those DVD cases and being reminded of the stupidity of that incredibly brainwashed dupe of a semi-successful woman is too much. There are scars too deep from this so-called campaign which has been more like a domestic insurgency against everything the country stands for; we will need time to heal. And time can help a lot here. And not having to be reminded of this stupid woman for a while can help too.

Perhaps remembering how she climbed to fame and fortune on the trashed back of a white man will help as well.

Looks like Nora went to a Kool-Aid Party this past week-end.

Comment by llilytoo | 2008-04-21 23:57:22

Many years ago….early 70’s? Nora wrote a column for the men’s magazine Esquire. The writing was good, she can write, but the upshot was always anti woman. She was like men’s answer to the days feminist movement. Her big thing was to make women seem ridiculous weather writing about a bake off or a protest. She was like the first concern troll. So 35 years later here we are, she’s still siding the anti woman crowd.

Ephron took over where Joan Rivers left off, in the early 1970s, after phase 1 of Rivers’ career, when Rivers disappeared for a while before reinventing herself in the 1980s.

Fine. Cry all they want. The truth of the matter is, he can’t seal the deal because he ain’t good enough to be the president. That has nothing to do with his skin. It’s the sum of his inexperience, his anti-American friends, his soft backbone, his glass jaw, his tie with Rezko the mafia. He can’t even face Clinton in NC debate. C’Mon!.

Comment by workingclass artist | 2008-04-21 17:54:56

Joey…It does’nt have to do with the color of his skin…but the thickness of it…No ?

Comment by Shainzona | 2008-04-21 17:56:24

Totally correct, Joey.

I was stunned at the reason the NC Dems gave for the cancellation…they’re afraid another debate will hurt party unity? I think they mean, “We’re afraid our choice, BO, will look stupid again”.

Sad. So sad.

After last week’s gangsta display, Obama looks like a wussie.

And it concerns me the democrats are so willing to put up an intellectually crippled candidate, one who cannot even handle himself in a simple debate, much less the white house, ie Bush.

Think it has occurred to Howard Dean, even on a subconscious level, that Obama is really a train wreck candidate?

The job of the American presidency isn’t for stupid people. I know it makes the world a lot less scary when we think, “hey, even a moron can do it” but that’s simply not true, real risk, life and death, the future security of our nation, your job, YOUR future security is at risk.

It’s not HALO, it’s real life, and Obama is an idiotic, ideological fool with no skill sets.

Boy, I’m not sure why, maybe too much diet coke, but it feels like someone is being BBQ’d, big time, like watching your brother or sister get reamed by your parents for coming home drunk, or stealing beer from a 7-11, when you were a kid.

Well, it’s a big deal to some parents, they still feel shame.

“Barack Obama has predicted he’ll lose tomorrow. He is afraid.”

Get a grip Susan.

The NC dem party cancelled at the last minute… despite the fact that both candidates were trying to work out an agreement on dates.

Oh ..Wait…We Have to send those Millions of dollars of Grant Money we were managing to the
“SPECIAL PEOPLE” on Our Insider List..

you know…scam the Money from the Well Intending Foundations..then spend it to Furtther the “CAUSE”…and get City Hall Jobs..and Titles..and Influence..inside the “SYSTEM”..in Order to look out for the OTHER Rich People who are Busy Building thier Own Network..All in the Name of Fighting POVERTY and Social Injustice…

These so called “Activists have been in Chicago for decades..>Millions of dollars have gone through thier Hands..They Have Power and Influence..

Then Why is there still so Much POVERTY and VIOLENCE in Chicago…?? It is the Power Center of the whole Marxist Movement..and Black Power Enablers..OBAMA has just Brought it all into Focus..into the PUBLIC Spotlight..His ilk have not helped eleminate Poverty..They have used that for a COVER and for Exploitation..

Oh Yes…We get the rest of the Money by Teaching People Hatred..against the White Mans System..Passing the Collection Plate…then Building a 10, 000m square foot Mansion right in the Middle of a Rich white Nieghborhood..

I wonder how all the Poor Impoverished People in Ghicago feel about they..Did Pastor Wright Build enough Rooms for all of them..

Its a good thing Pastor Wright is in a Gated Community..I wonder how back it sits from the Public Streets ..I wonder if He got New Pavement from His House to the Church..?
