Hey, You Typical White Guys

PhotobucketWhat’s wrong with you? You know who you are. You typical white guys. You Archie-Bunker, belly-floppin’ redneck racists.

Huffington Post, for two days now, has laid the blame — for Barack’s impending loss tonight — at YOUR fat dirty feet. Because you typical white men are a bunch of racists. And you can’t see beyond the color of Barack’s skin.

The latest, today, is “On Course For Another White Guy Election,” by Thomas PhotobucketEdsall. The first image chosen for the article is that of the two “redneck” white men. People must have complained because, now, the image of Barack tossing a bowling ball has replaced the two Bubbas on the article’s primary page. Luckily, thanks to Huffington Post forgetting that the objectionable image was still on its home page (or was it that their vainglorious elitism kept them from removing the image?), we can show you the intended portrayal of all of you “typical white men,” who Nora Ephron assailed in her nasty little rant yesterday at HuffPo.

Of note: Huffington Post even features a special tag for you: “White Guys.” Proud of yourselves now, huh?

In fact, ALL of the tags for Edsall’s story feature the word “white”: “White Guy Election,” “White Guys,” “White Male Voters,” “White Voters,” and “Winning White Vote.”

Now — in Larry Johnson’s post, “It Ain’t the Color of the Skin, It’s the Thickness” — and in my post, “What happens when you’re afraid, Barack?” — we exposed the hustle that Arianna Huffington and her writers, joined by the MSNBO and other elite MSM media, are trying to pull off. They’re trying to blame you and your redneck racism for Barack’s loss tonight in Pennsylvania.

They want to focus all their righteous ire on you rednecks — instead of questioning their own candidate’s electability as well as people’s honest, carefully-reasoned perceptions about Barack’s weaknesses in experience and in his questionable choices of his longtime friends and advisers.

We happen to know that the vast majority of you “typical white men” aren’t put off by the color of anyone’s skin. As Larry wrote this morning:

What Barry Obama and his acolytes don’t understand is that today most Americans don’t give a damn about how much melanin you have. The days of Jim Crow are gone. The days of putting people with dark skin at the back of the bus are gone. It is not the norm. It was in the sixties, but the courage of Martin Luther King and other black leaders coupled with the action of white leaders, such as Lyndon Johnson and the Civil Rights Act, helped us start turning a corner on race relations.

But here’s that this jerk Edsall wrote about you “typical white guys” — and I swear to you that these words appear in his article today, “On Course for Another White Guy Election“:

The prominent role of more centrist and conservative white men in the Democratic primary process is confounding to some. Just last year, Democratic political scientist Thomas F. Schaller was breathing a sigh of relief over the prospect that white men were a steadily diminishing factor in the political landscape.

In an essay titled “So long, white boy” published September 17, 2007 on Salon, Schaller wrote:

“The Democratic obsession with the down-home, blue-collar, white male voter, that heartbreaker who crossed the aisle to the Republicans many decades ago, may finally be coming to a merciful end….it’s a waste of time and resources for the Democrats to pursue them — a classic sucker’s bet….Democrats finally seem to realize that cultural contortionism in the pursuit of Bubba produces little more than smiles on the faces of Republican consultants.”

Two other Democratic analysts, Ruy Teixeira of the Brookings Institution and Emory University’s Alan Abramowitz, both agreed that the white working-class vote, both male and female, is declining as a share of the electorate. But that does not mean, they note, that these voters can be cast aside: …

DIE OFF, would you please?! You typical white guys!

DECLINE some more, would you please?!

(I’m sorry. I’m laughing so hard that I can’t write anymore. You write the rest of this…. oh gawd. …)

Oh, just one more thing. If I were the editor of Huffington Post, here’s the photo I might put on the cover:

Comment by Bud White | 2008-04-22 18:41:11

I think HuffPo should be declared hate speech.

I have redneck relatives: their lives are a struggle in low-pay, dangerous work. They have suffered skin cancers from long hours of oil field work, asbestoses from working on old ships, and the chronic health problems brought on by smoking, heavy drinking, poor diet, and their lack of education and awarness has made these issues worse. Throw in divorce, high gas prices, and declining wages and their lives are a struggle and nothing to be mocked.

We would rightly condemn a hate picture like this of African Americans. Why is anti-white hate OK?

Obama, the HuffPo, and other elites may hate poor white men, but they have as much a right to dignity and respect as anyone else.

Comment by SusanUnPC | 2008-04-22 18:45:03

Precisely. If I hadn’t had the giggles so bad — I really did — I would have added that to the story. Did add the tag, “Hate speech.” Because it is.

My grandfather was from Arkansas and he was a house painter! He was poor and partied all the time. He died at 88! He taught me how to be kind and have FUN! God bless his soul! And he NEVER said a bad word about anyone regarding their race, age, sex, etc.
He was just a great, nice man. When he died he had a whole array of wild people at this funeral and they saluted him in their old white guy way! They have their own dignity too!

It is not okay to chastise and discriminate against this group of people. PERIOD!

REPOSTING to make sure this gets read.

White guys are flocking to join Obama Nation. At least for today.

Thousands in Pa. switch parties, many to vote for Obama

http://www.mcclatchydc.com/100/story/34368.html

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — David Butler voted for Richard Nixon in 1972, then kept voting for GOP candidates through Watergate, Reaganomics and the Bill Clinton years.

This year, though, the 59-year-old teacher switched his registration to Democrat, and he said he plans to vote Tuesday for Illinois Sen. Barack Obama.

Since Jan. 1, more than 178,000 people in Pennsylvania have changed their party affiliations, and 92 percent of them have gone from Republican or independent to Democrat.

Comment by Vimes | 2008-04-22 19:45:17

And that means what, rjj?

Comment by Vimes | 2008-04-22 19:47:17

I think it means that registered Repubs have learned that Bush sucks. As far as today contest…who knows?

Comment by jwrjr | 2008-04-22 22:55:04

It means that if the DNC awards the nomination to Obama, in the GE he will not do as well as he did in the primary (no chance that the “Dems for a day” will stay that way in the GE).

The true believers and the committed activists largely determine the party’s nominee. It has always been thus

Those of us in the great unwashed, the ones with real lives, determine the President. It has always been thus.

Both sets mutually loath one another. It has always been thus.

The Huff post just reflects this one more time.

Same shit, different day.

African-American voters in Pennsylvania supported Obama by a substantial margin. According to exit polls, 92 percent cast their vote for the Illinois senator, compared to 8 percent for Clinton.

Disgusting, but thats what I come to expect from the “progressive” activist class. These anti-American scumbags have nothing but contempt, no sheer hatred worthy of Nazi for those who don’t agree with them.

So much for tolerating a diversity of opinion. With them there is only one right opinion or view - their’s. Disagree with them and be branded a racist, xenophobe or worse.

Bunch of closet authoritarians.

One thing for sure, is that this group must be kept away from power at all costs. These are the types once in power would institute laws that make the PATRIOT Act look like the Magna Carta.

Comment by Amanda | 2008-04-22 23:46:59

I don’t know who is progressive these days and who isn’t. I remember, a year and a half ago at NYU, where I was getting a graduate certificate on Global Affairs, I had this one girl tell me that I am a religious fanatic because I wear a cross. Never talked religion with her, or in class but we’re disagreeing about something else entirely. I don’t have to think very hard about who she is voting for, but it is people like her who have hijacked the left in this country.

Comment by Amanda | 2008-04-22 23:38:56

Pundits keep on talking about the “power” of Obama to bring in the AA voters in large number (for him of course) in GE, but if the white male voters go to Hillary (and not by much, mind you) they are racist.

PS: Just read somewhere that Randy Rodes said that Hillary won PA cause of the white trash. By her own definition, if people in PA are white trash, what does that make her?

Comment by TeakWoodKite | 2008-04-22 23:55:49

Green 960 picked her up. I could say something derogatory about her, but she does well enough all by her self.

Comment by orlandocajun | 2008-04-23 06:06:12
