Obama To Donate Contribution From Rezko’s Iraqi Friend

Aiham Alsammarae is a dual U.S.-Iraqi citizen, and Iraq’s former “Electricity Minister”. He posted more than $2.7 million in property to help spring Tony Rezko from jail. How’s that for friendship??

He also donated $2300 to Barack Obama’s Presidential campaign. Barack Obama will be donating Mr. Alsammarae’s contribution to charity now. Seems fair, right?

Alsammarae — a friend of Rezko’s since their days as classmates at the Illinois Institute of Technology — once was accused of corruption in Iraq, but he broke out of a Baghdad jail, returned to the U.S. and has since said the charges against him have been vacated.

Being the Obama-Skeptic that I am, you just know I had to find out more about who Aiham Alsammarae is besides Iraq’s former Electricity Minister who was charged with corruption in Iraq, escaped from jail, bailedout his smarmy friend Rezko and contributed to Barack Obama’s campaign.

It didn’t take long to find out that, among other slimey activities, Rezko is accused of giving Alsammarae a $1.5 million bribe for the electrical contract to train Iraqi power plant security guards. Friends are wonderful things, aren’t they?

My search also took me to a December 21, 2006 New York Times piece and the story of the incarcerated Alsammarae and his subsequent escape to that wonderful bunker for domestic terrorists, foreign millionaires of dubious activities, Black Separatist ministers and other assorted scum balls: Chicago.

OAK BROOK, Ill., December 20 - It was an

unremarkable scene
on Wednesday outside a gated community here where the former Iraqi electricity minister, Aiham Alsammarae, now a fugitive from justice, keeps a palatial house.

Having escaped from a Baghdad jail over the weekend in what he boasted was the “Chicago way,” Mr. Alsammarae, whose whereabouts are unknown, could have been on the way back here.

Mr. Alsammarae, who holds dual American and Iraqi citizenship, moved to the Chicago area in the late 1970s but returned to Iraq just after the American-led invasion.

He was jailed four months ago on corruption charges related to deals made when he was the electricity manager, from August 2003 to May 2005.

Not a bad deal hey? 4 months in jail for $1.5 million? Where do I sign up?

Apparently, Mr. Alsammarae wasn’t too thrilled with America at the time of his escape to Illinois either:

BAGHDAD, Dec. 19 — In a lengthy phone conversation on Tuesday, the former Iraqi electricity minister who escaped from a Baghdad jail on Sunday ridiculed American and Iraqi officials and said he fled because he did not trust the police and had received a tip that he would be assassinated within days.

I guess all of Mr. Alsammarae’s deals when he was Iraq’s Electricity Minister were pretty lucrative, considering the “palatial” description of his home in Illinois. It sure looks like Tony Rezko gave that home a little Jump Start doesn’t it?

Safe and sound in Good Old Chicago, Mr. Alsammarae had this to say:

Despite the charges against him, Mr. Alsammarae said he did not believe that the American authorities would arrest him in Chicago. “I hope they are smarter than that,” he said.

So, basically, Mr. Alsammarae is just one more of those fine upstanding Duel-Citizenship people of dubious activity who seem to gravitate toward Barack Obama. Alsammarae is just another one of those “regular guys” in the Obama Camp.

In any event, I guess we can assume that, like Tony Rezko, Mr. Alsammarae likes Barack Obama a lot. It must have something to do with that Hopey Changey thing.

The Obama campaign says Alsammarae made an “online” contribution, which of course frees them of any responsibility for the receipt of money from this upstanding citizen. And of course, Barack Obama doesn’t recall ever meeting Auchi Alsammarae.

This is just ridiculous. Obama has the longest list of friends that would have buried any one else a long time ago. How in the world can any SD be endorsing this guy? Are they all in the same cesspool as Obama?

Comment by militarytracy | 2008-04-30 13:32:23

No, but they would like for him to share his money making machine if it isn’t broken now.

Comment by BernieO | 2008-04-30 13:40:30

I am the only one who is suspicious about all the money Obama is raising online from supposedly small donors? I could buy it for the first few months but the fact that it keeps coming - and a lot of his supporters are anything but affluent, I think I small a rat. Or several rats. I have the feeling that some of Obama’s less than honorable fat cat buddies are funneling money to people to donate in their own names.

Comment by simon, too | 2008-04-30 14:00:01

I agree, rezko was involved with creating many straw donors, and bundling, I would suppose the same applies, here, too.

And Obama has a call center in Gaza, that’s also a red flag.

Rezko laundered money for politicians, point blank, it’s not unrealistic to suspect he did, does the same for Obama.

I mean, I would look at Axelrod, here, too, and the numerous billionaires that support Obama, like Geffen, and soros, and GE, too.

Comment by Northwest rain | 2008-04-30 15:11:03

I wonder if Obama’s “bundlers” are taking names off of the mailing lists he got from big name endorsers — like Kerry and Dodd etc.

Obama’s campaign got my name from 3 or 4 sources — the State Democratic Party was one source.

So what if after each contact — each of our names has been listed as “donors” — WE never gave but our name is on a list. So the huge donations could be broken down into smaller donations and attached to a name from a list.

I’ve read where a dead actor’s name turned up as an Obama donor — which made me think that Obama’s campaign might be using mailing lists to mine for donor names??

ALSO — what “charity” is Obama donating this dirty money to?

Sheesh! Add one more shady character to the already long list of shady characters.

What is it about this guy that the DC elites and MSM embrace? If Hillary was connected to ANY one of these characters, she would have been run out of dodge a long time ago. Why do people accept his questionable background? I want an answer to that question. Something is going on. Surely the FBI knows all about these people? Why was he ever allowed to run for President?

Comment by Mary | 2008-04-30 14:36:31

This explains, then, what I’ve been wondering about for months…..

Rezko, as a real estate magnate in Chicago, was given a contract for 3 energy plants to be built in Iraq…. through our government. The plants were never built because Rezko got indicted, but I have NO DOUBT whatsoever that Senator Obama helped Rezko GET that contract for Rezko.

Not to mention that Axelrod was a lobbyist for Exelon (and the later nuclear legislation with no teeth), or that much of the $$$ loans came through General Electric Financial.

Do I have to mention that GE owns MSNBC, Tweety, Keith, and Andrea Mitchell?

Good Lord….this is appalling.

Barack Obama and wife, Michelle: Mutual TV appearance upcoming
Now that Barack Obama has distanced himself publicly, if painfully, from the pastor who married him and his wife and baptized their children, he is getting close to the wife in a national television appearance.

NBC’s Meredith Vieira will sit down with Barack and Michelle Obama today in Indianapolis for an interview that will air on the “Today” show Thursday. A segment of the talk will air on NBC’s “Nightly News” and on MSNBC this evening.

Michelle Obama has been a tireless campaigner for her husband on the road. And now, as the Democratic candidate for president attempts to put the Rev. Jeremiah Wright in the campaign’s rear view mirror, he is presenting a new image for public consumption: A professional and happily married couple willing to face a rough political time together.

– Mark Silva

The maker of the bad sale of generators to Alsammarae, General Electric.

Rezko, facing corruption charges and fraud, key plaintiff, General Electric!

Who owns one of the largest loan insurance and credit card companies in America, General Electric. Who voted for unlimited credit limits and voted against a 30% cap on credit cards? Obama

They bombed New York and the Pentagon (terrorists) and here we have Americans taking money from them, or sending them money, it’s like one of us, taking a bribe, or selling bombs to Hamas, and then watching them kill our next door neighbor.

This is our country, how could an American who considers himself repsectable do that to another?

Just found this on Human Events@HumanEventsOnline.com

The United States Senate may vote any day on the stealth imposition of what could amount to an $845 BILLION United Nations style global tax on American citizens?
It’s called the Global Poverty Act (S.2433), and it is being sponsored by none other than Senator Barack Obama.
According to some conservative sources, this disastrous legislation could eventually force U.S. taxpayers to fork over as much as 0.7 percent of the nation’s Gross Domestic Product — or $845,000,000,000.00 — on welfare to third-world countries.
Here’s what Phyllis Schlafly, conservative activist and founder of Eagle Forum, recently wrote:
“Obama’s costly, dangerous and altogether bad bill (S. 2433), which could come up in the Senate any day, is called the Global Poverty Act. It would commit U.S. taxpayers to spend 0.7 percent of our Gross Domestic Product on foreign handouts”.

Another oil for food?

It won’t pass, at least not as you stated, (not out Congress, not our President, no) but it would be interesting to see which “friends of Obama” benefit.

It certainly won’t be the world’s hungry, those truly in need, let’s get that straight…

OMG, an Iraqi person donated money to Obama! Horrors! What a terrible taint. Further proof that Obama is a terrorist, I suppose.

If it was Auchi, or even, Saddam, I would say yes.

Who is your favorite Baathist, and how many Americans did he murder, today?

Oh, that’s right, American rank and file soldiers are from a lesser God, the “white trash god.”

Big secret, no, they’re not, actually.

heh.

Sen Obama seems to have a pattern of associating himself with those who are not pleased with America. Are there still more of controversies about Sen Obama that we don’t know?? Hope the media, instead of cuddling him, do their job and expose everything that is out there so the voters will know. My gosh the country is in a very precarious situation and to elect an unknown for a president is very scary.
