Expedience.
Expedience propelled the speech in Philadelphia, and Tuesday’s grim press conference. it was expedience that was borne from falling poll numbers, and really — let’s be clear here — nothing to do with anti-American, racist, divisive words. Because if those words had been the real reason, he’d have quit that church 20 years ago, wouldn’t have attended for 20 years, wouldn’t have been married by and had his daughters baptized by and had his new mansion blessed by Rev. Wright. No, it was the poll numbers:

You see, the rest of us — you, me, and millions of Americans — only had to listen to those tapes from the CDs of speeches sold for profit by his own church (about which he surely had to be aware) in order to know that there was something terribly anti-American and hate-filled about this narcissistic preacher’s rhetoric. Baehr describes OUR reactions:
Many Americans did not have to wait for Wright’s talk to the National Press Club to have taken offense. In fact, there is nothing the Reverend said Monday or with Bill Moyers on PBS, or at the NAACP dinner in Detroit (to thunderous ovations) that was in any substantive way different from what he has been saying over and over again for decades (to thunderous applause among the thousands packing Trinity Church). We had already heard about the US government bringing AIDS into the black community, and how Louis Farrakhan was a great American.
Then there is the example of William Ayers, who helped jumpstart Obama’s political career by hosting an early fundraiser in 1995, who donated to his campaigns, who served with him on a board for eight years. Then, the other day, Larry Johnson reports to us that Barack Obama was an employee of William Ayers’ foundation for EIGHT YEARS.
Obama’s excuse for his relationship with an unrepentant terrorist is that the bombings of the Pentagon and Capitol building, NYPD offices, and more all occurred when he was eight years old. But the CORE problem with “dusting off his shoulder” the issue of the relationship is that, well into their business and personal relationship — at least six to seven years or more into that relationship — William Ayers told the New York Times that he didn’t regret setting those bombs, that he wishes he’d set off more bombs, and that he feels he and his fellow Weather Underground terrorists didn’t do enough.
Didn’t Obama READ that account? Hasn’t he heard about the Ayers interview? Wouldn’t such remarks — even if we were children when the violence occurred — be enough to end a relationship for you or me with someone with such a history of violence? That not only does Ayers have no regrets but he wishes he’d done more?
That’d be a deal-breaker for almost all of us, I am sure. Even if our associate had led an exemplary life since, such suggestions that violence was warranted, that more violence had been needed, and that such violence may be needed again would do it for us. But not for Obama. Because, apparently, it is not politically expedient to do so. (And I have a lot of questions about why Obama does not find it politically expedient to also disown that man as well as his terrorist wife, Bernardine Dorhn.)

In 1995, the Chicago Annenberg Challenge was created to raise funds to help reform the Chicago public schools. One of the architects of the Challenge was none other than Professor Bill Ayers. Ayers co-wrote the initial grant proposal and proudly lists himself on his own website as the co-founder of the Challenge.
And who did William Ayers, co-creator of the Challenge, help select as the new director of the board for this program? Barack Obama. Barack Obama was the first Chairman of the Board of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge. This appointment came at a crucial time in Barack’s life. He was on the verge of challenging longtime state Senator Alice Palmer for her job. When Barack decided to run, it is no surprise that he turned to William Ayers and his wife, Bernardine Dohrn for help in organizing the campaign and in hosting his first fundraiser in the district.
Obama served on the board for eight years until the Challenge ended in 2003. Bill Ayers was intimately involved in the Challenge over this same time period.

Then there are Father Michael Pfleger — somewhat of an outlaw priest in Chicago — as well as Rev. James Meeks and Rev. Otis Moss — not to mention indicted slumlord Tony Rezko et al.
That’s quite a cast of characters to have involved so directly in one’s political career.
The Republicans should have a grand time staging a series of plays — in the form of 527 attack ads — should the Democrats fail to see the light, and give Hillary Clinton the nomination.
And, with that cast of characters to put on display between August and November, John McCain would have no problem becoming the 44th president.

What is so rediculous is at Occidental and Columbia, Obama majored in Political Science, anyone who doesn’t think the names Ayers and Dohrn did not cross Obama’s studies is a fool and to think knowing just who these terrorists are, questions why the association with them becomes a real large question of concern! Especially when Ayers adn Dohrn have proclaimed the new form of terrorism is changi views of theng the young minds in teaching!
Yes, it is truly scary to think about Ayers and Dorhn being in a position to influence young minds. Obama’s affiliation with Ayers and the Annenberg Challenge and his attempts to side-step those facts bother me just as much as Jeremiah Wright. When you add that to crooked Chicago and Syrian born business men, it is unthinkable that Obama could be President. I hope the next stop for MSM is this subject…and they’d better get to it quickly.

They’re talking about FISA over at Orange Sippy Cup again. That’s their fav topic when the going gets rough (you know the old saying, “When the going gets tough, the tough talk about something totally different”).
You know, as a citizen I find FISA appalling, and would, and most likely will, fight it every step of the way. The potential for abuse in the wrong hands is too great, a man like Addington say, kook supreme, should never be near any national security apparatus (from what I’m told, the NSA has enough of it’s own kooks, thank you).
We need to address the issues FISA raises, but not Cheney, and not Bush. It needs to be vetted by people who understand, and respect the law, and understand the greater implications for America, people who understand the greater dynamics of the fourth amendment, and why it is paramount to the survival of the US (the fourth amendment, that is, not FISA). People like Clinton, or even an astute Republican, like Hagel, and McCain, when not pandering (and flipping on the torture issue was not a good move for McCain) not caught up in much of the manufactured fear of terrorism, used to bully the American people, and others, should be examining this issue, not the besotted, faux intellectual neocons.
But, oh, the irony, if it snares criminal Congressmen like Hastert, and Obama, or even Cheney, and Addington, and their crews, legally.
A lot of money to be made, Edmunds, and Fitzgerald, have already shown men like Hastert, and Edelman, (who works for Cheney in the Pentagon), are corrupt, I would even phrase it as enabling the terrorists, taking bribes, at a minimum.

I just find it amusing that *that* is what they always turn to when the news is good for Hillary. Barack was not willing to use “street cash” for the people on the ground working their asses off for him because he had to save his dough for his SD payoffs. Sure, he cares about the little guy.. I am positive that had a big impact on him in Philly. They all knew he was sitting on millions of dollars and wouldn’t kick down a little to the volunteers who worked so hard, he wouldn’t even give out campaign signs and other goodies. What a jerk he is. He sounds JUST LIKE BUSH with his “move along, nothing to see here” attitude about Wright and all the other skeletons that keep falling out of his closet. He will lose IN,NC, KY and WV badly, that’s my prediction. I see Hillary is WAY up in Montana too.

WHY I AM NOT SUPPORTING SEN CLINTON’S CALL
During the PA debate, Sen Clinton declared that after the debate the Democratic Party will rally behind one democratic presidential candidate and win the general election.
I am a registered Democrat and have been voting Democrat for 2 decades now. However, I am an American citizen first. Democrat second. I love my country and I am willing to bear arms, fight and ready to die for the United States of America. I am not like some stupid Americans who wear blinders like a lot of Democrats or Republicans are. Although personality is important, I am not a stupid American who will vote based on personalities alone. Being cool is nothing to me. Unlike some stupid Americans, I will not vote based on race, age or sex. Although the Democrat platform is where I am more comfortable with, I am not like some stupid Americans who will vote based on Party affiliation. Unlike some stupid Americans, I will not let my vote be influenced by the media. Unlike most stupid Americans, I will not vote for a candidate with extremist views. Like other SMART Americans, I will vote for whoever is the best for the country.
After careful consideration, I believe that the person who can best serve our country is Sen Clinton. She has the experience to lead and the vision on how progress in our country can be attained. She is tenacious, courageous and has unabashed and unwavering sense of patriotism. I like her platform of Universal Healthcare, responsible withdrawal out of Iraq and plan to fix the economy.
If Sen Clinton loses the nomination to Sen Obama, I will be voting for Sen McCain who likewise has unabashed and unwavering sense of patriotism and experience to lead.
Again, I love my country and my loyalty belongs to our country not to any political party. I know that 30% of the Democrats feel the same way too and I hope that Sen Clinton understands this.
Did Ayers and Dorhn develope the tactics learned at Camp Obama? The more I read about them and their agenda the more convinced I become about the strategy and tactics taught to the volunteers and staff at the Camp Obamas’ held all over the country. It is a “get’um young” and radicalize them to be aggressive, nasty, and single minded. Were the strong arm tactics used at caucuses part of it, as well as using college students that are possibly part of their network as it seems to be based in academia? This is becoming clearer to me where some of this crazy and dirty stuff is coming from.
Probably no different than some countries use to indoctrinate their young, as the former USSR did, or Russia does, the same with China, but on a much smaller scale, ala “marketing.”
It doesn’t work, they fail to recognize the inherent failure of systems that disallow free thinking, or dissent, whether it’s Dorhn, or China.
They also expose their weaknesses, the need for predictable, trite order, and control, predictability. They abhor chaos, because it’s an emotional, childhood trigger.
I would argue without 200 + years of freedom behind us, a mediocre talent like Cheney would have prevailed, momentarily anyway, and the US would have failed, period.
Ostensibly, under his “vice presidency,” Iraq and Afghanistan were lost, and the US is failing, economically, militarily, and politically.
You’d have to be naive to think Cheney’s enemies, foreign and domestic, didn’t capitalize on his weaknesses.
But he didn’t succeed, also, in part, because America tolerates, encourages dissent, and free speech, also equality, (Dick Cheney is no better than we are, simply because of his social position, or economic class) using freedom of the press to counter guys like Dick, or even Dick Morris.
Thank the founding fathers.
And the US is, or will be, IMO, even stronger, now, even more of a giant, which is almost incomprehensible, to some.
Amen to that, and the pundits called Obama’s org as more organized, more educated, plus more. The words they use are not even printable in my home pc. If I’m the mom of anyone of them I’ll come with the worst soap in the world for their mouth to get cleaned out.
