Obama Supporter Spreads Fake Video to Smear Hillary — with Help from Unquestioning Bloggers & Media

[Susan’s Note: SluggoJD is doing more sleuthing, and we’ll be posting his findings and insights later.]

Yesterday, a YouTube video spread throughout the blogosphere and media like mildew in a lazy bachelor’s shower stall.  The clip’s audio is terribly unclear, but the editor inserted subtitles to give the false impression that Mickey Kantor, a former Bill Clinton campaign staffer and Clinton Administration official, had said unkind things about the people of Indiana back in 1992 (while Kantor was being filmed for the documentary The War Room).

What interesting timing: Hillary Clinton happens to be facing Indiana’s primary election in four days, and Kantor is connected to her campaign.

Figuring the video was a hoax, I decided to wait to blog about it until after the hoax was exposed, which took only a few hours.

According to the Washington Post, the man who alerted political reporters about the video is Eric Schmeltzer, a political and public relations consultant "who favors Barack Obama."  The person who doctored and uploaded the video to YouTube is still unknown.

Apparently, Mr. Schmeltzer didn’t bother verifying the video clip before sounding the trumpets — and neither did some of the media outlets and bloggers who helped spread the story. Perhaps they were too gleefully focused on the opportunity to propagate "negative" about Hillary, what with the Indiana primary so close.

Given her recent gains in some polls, what better time to sling poop at Hillary?

Running an unverified story simply to provoke readers’ emotions is the sort of thing that Matt Drudge would do.  Scratch that: it’s exactly what Matt Drudge did do with this story.

Just hours after the story erupted, Media Matters showed just how easy the verification process was by getting and watching a digital copy of The War Room.  Media Matters uploaded a clearer version of the relevant video clip here and explained how ABC’s Jake Tapper had shirked his journalistic duties when handling the story:

"In a May 2 post on his ABC News blog Political Punch, ABC News senior national correspondent Jake Tapper republished a May 1 post he had temporarily taken down, in which he asserted:

"Bill Clinton’s Trade Representative, a supporter of Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, and an informal adviser to her campaign — once seemed to have some not-so-nice things to say about the Hoosiers his chosen candidate is working so hard to pursue. As seen in The War Room, watching election returns come in, [Mickey] Kantor seems to say in hushed tones to James Carville, ‘Look at Indiana, wait, wait — look at Indiana. 42-40. It doesn’t matter if we win. Those people are s—. Excuse me.’ "

"After noting that both Kantor and War Room director D.A. Pennebaker have reportedly denied that Kantor called people from Indiana "shit," Tapper added:

‘Were I not currently eating a chicken sandwich at Liberty East Restaurant in Charlotte, NC, while working on a World News piece about the economy and the candidates, I would go to Blockbuster, rent a copy of The War Room and settle this matter as much as possible.’

"Media Matters for America did obtain a digital copy of The War Room and downloaded the relevant section… [It] clearly indicates that Kantor is not saying, "Those people are shit"; he is, in fact, saying, "Those people are shitting," presumably referring to the Bush campaign’s reaction to the poll numbers he was reading. (Media Matters, emphasis added)

The title of Media Matters’ piece makes my point for me: If Tapper had put down his chicken sandwich and rented The War Room, he’d know that Mickey Kantor did not call Indiana voters "Shit."

MSNBC also ran the story on a network blog, apparently without verifying the YouTube video first — as did some major (pro-Obama) blogs including Daily Kos and America Blog.

Ultimately, those networks and blogs ran corrective updates, but how many thousands of people  didn’t read the corrections after reading the initial (false) stories? How many are Indiana voters?

Incidentally, the story got local play in Indiana yesterday at WSBT TV and WSBT Radio in South Bend.

Does anyone still wonder whether some media outlets and blogs carry heavy pro-Obama or anti-Hillary biases?

Memeorandum has links to blogs that ran related stories.

I knew it. Up to their race-baiting tactics again. Sickening.

I told you Barry uses race. He even mentions it himself in his book readings. I saw on TV this morning where a bunch of those radical Obamazoids started chanting Oooooooooo Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Maaaaaaaaa at a Hillary rally. Good. That’s what they need to keep doing. It will turn that piece of crap they are supporting into the McGovern Loser. This is the kind of crap that turned Americans off in 68 and 72. Keep it up you little savages. Keep it up.

I miss the good old days when the young republicans used to smack people who showed up at their rallies like that… Oh wait, they’re all Obama supporters now, so I guess they’re not going to smack themselves.

Yes, but what is going to happen when the truth comes out? Yes, some will be duped by this, but others will have actually listened to the video, as I just did - it was clear to me. And whoever is pushing the anti-Hillary proproganda will look pathetic.

You have to ask: Aren’t Barack Obama supporters, and BO himself, tired of looking pathetic? Or are they just a bunch of masochistic wannabes?

Comment by Northwest rain | 2008-05-03 20:35:13

My theory is that only Masochistic type people support Obama.

Ironically the strongest bond (relationship bonds) are S & M. You wonder why some couples stay together?? could be . . .

Obama has made it clear that he doesn’t like or respect “older” women — and yet some of his cult followers are older women.

Comment by Talktruth | 2008-05-03 20:49:13

You know, I thought today about him saying his grandmother used racial epithets or something to that effect. I wonder if she ever slurred him in this manner. Not to make excuses for him, because he’s a major &**^$%#, but that might certainly color his views.

BTW, what do you mean, “Ironically the strongest bond (relationship bonds) are S & M”?

Comment by Northwest rain | 2008-05-04 05:46:52

This is from Marriage and Family research — the S & M is the psychological variety. The dynamics of this sort of relationship is very complex — and often you don’t pick it up right away.

I’m trying to find the psychological mechanism that would make Obama an attractive candidate to women — even when he is so obvious about his sexism.

Comment by Talktruth | 2008-05-04 06:54:11

I think a lot of them just want to vote for a black guy, to somehow right all the wrongs that have been done to AAs. They can’t get much past that.

I guess one psychological mechanism you could posit is women as savers of the downtrodden and the underdog. I think BO definitely takes advantage of that. Notice his oft-used hangdog expression? Sad eyes? Lowered voice? Bet he uses it on Michelle all the time when she is about to beat the shit out of him.

“Anything to Win”- always used by Obama supporters as the main reason they don’t like Hillary.

“She’s a Racist”- another talking point used by Obamabots to explain their rejection of Hillary for Obama.

“Her Sleazy campaign tactics are designed to make Obama unelectable in November so she can try again in 2012″- see Above.

It’s called Projection. And it’s getting very, very tiresome.

Sorry for the OT, but here’s some very interesting information from JoeySky at Hillary Clinton Forum:

“9:30 a.m. Guam – Herbie Perez, Democrat Party Nominating Committee Chairperson, says officials will look over the large amount of “spoiled” ballots in the coming days. At issue is small margin of victory for Senator Barack Obama. He beat his rival Senator Hillary Clinton by 7 votes, but well over 500 ballots were deemed invalid during the tabulation process. Perez says she will not certify the results because the Committee needs to ensure all were properly identified as “spoiled.” She says officials from the Party and representatives from both candidates will meet probably Monday or Tuesday to address that issue.

She is also looking into missing ballots. In total, over 8,100 were printed in response to reports of shortages at precinct sites. But when the final vote count was given, only a little over 4,500 ballots were used.

Take action: Blog, E-mail, send this to other people.”

Gals and guys, this is a gift horse. I doubt its impact will be more than giving the trolls a hardon at DK. Sure, we must fight it, but in the long run this is just more proof Obama can’t win fairly and only has race-baiting and fear of riots/insurrection on his side.

Since neither candidate has enough SDs to clinch: continue to build a dossier on Obama and his tactics focusing on the race-baiting and fear mongering.

Prove with solid evidence Obama is a scoundrel and since we know the Republicans are building their own dossier the SDs will know he is toast in the GE.

If at that point the SDs want to join the Kool-aid train and commit political suicide, hail to the chief President McCain.

I think all of this might be moot on Tuesday. Let’s assess things then.

By the way promoting insurrection could lose Obama his Senate seat, don’t you think? And isn’t that illegal? Surely it must be against his oath of office?

Comment by sandyR | 2008-05-03 20:07:37

my friend, I think it is time to turn someone from high up in the Obama campaign. Think of the extremely low quality of people he surrounds himself with. Not hard to find one who might move into the role of a into a role of whistleblower, I would think. They would get instant celebrity. Think Jeremiah Wright. There are big egos and bad people involved.
Obama will deny everything in the world, and how will you prove he knew anything about anything?
(after all we can’t find out that he actually KNOWS anything about anything–but that’s a whole different topic). I know he is fully aware of all of the dirty tricks going on in his campaign. We’ve seen the quality of his character repeatedly
what with giving the finger and making snotty remarks. But to nail him, you’ve got to have someone who can point the finger (no pun intended) at him. I’d like this rat’s ass exposed no matter what happens. But as you say, it might be a matter we don’t need to concern ourselves with as Hillary gets the nod to the Presidency. But still, many of us want to see this piece of shit roast in hell.

p.s. sorry for the bad grammar- but this fa-ka-ta

Finding a defector: I think that might be going on behind the scenes right now and that’s really high level shit and I’ll let those sleeping dogs lay asleep and let people who know what the fuck they are doing handle that! :)

To be clear, I have no direct nor indirect knowledge any deals being made. I am just speculating. I have no insider knowledge, nor do I seek any.

But in principle I agree, it should not be hard to find someone to defect at this point.

Comment by Amanda | 2008-05-03 20:15:19

I’m not at the point yet for calling for “hell roasting”, and who knows, maybe come June I will be if SD go en mass for Obama. But for the moment I suggest we keep the discussion at earthly level, not above, not below.

Just my opinion of course.

Comment by Garlic-Nosed Guitarist | 2008-05-03 20:25:01

PS: Look through the articles of today and at the threads I am involved in. There’s plenty of ammunition and solid logical arguments that along with the documentary evidence people have been amassing can prove to the SDs the danger Obama is to the United States of America. Folks might want to put everything all together and buy a full-page add in a major newspaper.

It goes without saying other people have contributed far more than I have here, but I’ve been focusing on the “big picture” lately. Check it out.

I think we have a solid foundation to begin with and do have the truth on our side.

Let’s wait and see what happens Tuesday, plus Obama could have a major malfunction any minute and meltdown. There seems to be no end of scandal in sight.

If we have to carry on the fight, the full-page idea plus a media blitz should be considered.

There’s a ton of intellectual capital here and good will. If we package this with truth, it would be a powerful argument and just might give folks the thing they need to hang there hats on.

I think the SDs are waiting for a place to hang their hats on before they will jump the ship: the Titanic called Obama. Obama losing two states would do it. A split decision would be a firewall for him. But I am feeling very positive, considering the amazing ground game in IN and NC.

Keep the faith! And turn off those assholes on the TV “news” stations. :) They are out there with marching orders to keep our morale down.

They are so full of it, it’s not even funny. It was taken from “War Room” and Kantor said they are “sh—ting” at the White House. So, it was interpreted as directed to Indiana. Plus the other big bs, doctoring a part of the video where Kantor called people in Indiana “white n—–s”. This goes beyond pathetic.

PS: Guam is looking more messed up by the min. I hope the results are not certified, because there are 4 or 5 SD at play and a couple of them have said they would follow the popular vote as to who they are going to endorse.

Slightly OT:

Hillary in a NC dinner said she will not only back Barack Obama if he is the party’s nominee, she will work hard for him.

“If Senator Obama is the nominee, you better believe I’ll work my heart out for him,” Clinton said.

link:
http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2008/05/02/politics/fromtheroad/entry4068514.shtml

I swear Hillary is dumb as a sack full of hammers if she and the DNC think that her carrying water for Obama will make a lot of people vote for a terrorist supporter like Barry.

It won’t, but it will make it easy for the GOP to associate her endorsement of Barry as support for Ayers, Auchi, Wright and any other cockroach that Barry hangs with.

This would be a two-fer for Rove.

She is free to say that and do that. But many of us disagree and will never vote for Obama. She understands that of course.

Besides the word “IF” is in there. :) I think she is very confident she can knock him out of the race and maybe sooner than we think.

Let’s assess things on Tuesday.

Just imagine what would had happned if such a piece of trash was done by a Clinton supporter….
The BOmaniacs complained when the disgraceful relationships of their hero are exposed. But these are truly Obama’s. There is nothing in what Obama himself (bitter), Wright, Pfleger, Motis, Meeks, Ayers or Rezko said or did that was false. Every single word is theirs

So what do they do? They think with their single neuron
that doctoring and creating a hoax video is fair retribution? WTF ? They are the worst king of filthy rats. These people do go down to the gutter for their candidate. They live in the gutter.

UGH….

Comment by Garlic-Nosed Guitarist | 2008-05-03 20:43:17

They live in the gutter.

And the world is seeing that more and more every day. The people in the heartland will speak on Tuesday, and I feel very good about what they will say and that will be: “Obama, you are unamerican and we reject your values and tactics. They are revolting to our sensibilities!”

Comment by Catriley | 2008-05-03 21:30:11

I’ll tell you what would have happened if this video was done in favor of Hillary — the media would be assigning resources right now to find the culprit. The story that it was faked would be a big story, not a correction. That’s the difference… Instead it’s an “oopsy!”, and move on for the media.

If it was the other way around we’d be seeing all the talking heads demanding an investigation and someone from Clinton’s campaign to step down.

Saw this elsewhere and thoguht it was worth sharing. I am fed up with Obama, his supporters, and the media - I’ve given up on the concept of the media being fair (even NPR). I am just perplexed at all that has happened. In my opinion, the media needs to stop throwing stones and do some self examination. Maybe we should just have a week with no news coverage - put them in timeout for a week to think about what the way they have behaved. I can only imagine what people around the world think about this(with the U.S. spouting the cry for democracy).

Yes I used to be a cnn and msnbc junkie but, no more I turn on the ballgame and listen to potus08 on XM I have quit listening to progressive station on this as Randi *turncoat* Rhodes..I used to like listening to her didn’t agree with all she said but, enjoyed her show ..Also Rachel Maddow how disappointing she has been and the Sam Seder drinking the coolaid and Big Ed..they all disgust me today but, didn’t sure as hell take me 20 years to hear their spew and know that it isn’t anything based on reason or fact..So turned the off tuned them out..But Mr. and Mrs O and family sit in the pews and hear this crap give me a break please …
damn disgusting when one needs to tune in to FOX to get even a semblence of fairness and don’t worry if Hillary pulls this out..GOT TO KEEP THE FAITH..she is going to do it..but, damn what is wrong with this scenario other than they thought they had the fix in..I hope they have to eat their fix..
CNN a bit more fair than MSNBC but, still a long way to go to being fair coverage and vetting this so called candidate for pres.. poor barry is being found out…thank goodness for the internet and other news sources and thank Larry and others for all their work in uncovering the FACTS..
Something the MSM doesn’t want to deal with..The Obamas both grew up in basically upper middle class families for their times then try to portray themselves like their parents or in poor baby barry his grandparents who loved him and gave him the best schools etc..College educated grandparents not scraping for a living like they portray their living conditions when young..
A teenage mom…hey she was in college and later she also was in college or off on her lofty jaunts and lofty ideas of how the world should be..I am sure her parents at times probably wondered what the hell she was doing
but, hey nobody was down and out in their families..So give me a break with them being from humble beginnings ..
Now Bill Clinton came from humble beginnings’
went to live with grandma while mom went to nursing school then worked hard most of her life..So once again Obama please just get out of the race as your lies are coming out too slow for me but, they are coming out and we are all disappointed that you are not what you portray yourself to be..as it would have been wonderful to been able to be pleased if either these candidates win..but, no more I cannot vote for someone with a past like this
I DON’T KNOW WHO THIS MAN IS….
when are you getting out barack and save our country and your family the embarassment of the truth being blasted over the world the cast of characters that you hve surrounded yourself with since landing in Chicago..
Hey Barry where are the people you have helped doesn’t anyone else think it strange that as a community organizer right down there with the people saving peoples jobs and all these good things you have done as state senator etc..
where are the testimony from real people that this man has helped since being in public service..I SEE THEM WITH HILLARY ACTUAL PEOPLE TELLING THEIR STORIES OF HOW HILLARY PERSONALLY HELPED THEM..Farmers coming from NY..yeah I amoriginally from southerntier of NY brought up on small dairy farm..So I know these people pretty well back there and quite republican but, she won them over winning almost 70% relection that tells one something about OUR Hillary..

So I REALLY DONT WANT MCCAIN BUT, WILL AND HAVE TO ACCEPT HIM AND HOPE THAT THE JOHN MCCAIN I MET SO MANY YEARS AGO DOWN IN FLORIDA BEFORE SQUADRON WAS SHIPPED OUT FOR DUTY OFF COAST OF VIETNAM..MY EX WAS ASSIGNED TO SQUADRON AS CREW CHIEF AND JET MECH FOR JETS..HE WAS FUN WE ALL DRANK A BIT TOO MUCH..
I WAS A REPUB AT TIME BUT, MODERATE AND DIDN’T REALLY GET MUCH INTO POLITICS EXCEPT AT ELECTION TIME..HOPE THAT JOHN MCCAIN WOULD BE BACK HE BELIEVED IN LESS GOVT AND OUT OF ONES PERSONAL LIFE EXCEPT IN CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES
I HAVE WRITTEN TO MR. MCCAIN SEVERAL TIMES BUT, NEVER HAVE GOTTEN A REPLY TOLD HIM HOW DISAPPOINTED I WAS IN HIM HE PROBABLY THINKS I AM JUST JOSHING HIM ABOUT MEETING HIM ETC..BUT, I TOLD HIM I HAVE MY FORRESTAL LETTER AFTER THE DISASTEROUS FIRE ETC..
BUT, I GUESS WHAT I AM SAYING I HOPE THE REAL JOHN MCCAIN WOULD COME OUT IF HE IS THE ONE WHO IS ELECTED..
I am just afraid if for some reason Obama gets the nomination we as dems won’t see our chances this good to take the WH in many years to comes as America USA will think we are all nuts and push people further from the democratic party
I CANNOT VOTE FOR OBAMA..LOOK AT HIS ASSOCIATES AND FRIENDS..
DAMN…WHAT A MESS…
The other thing is the extra delegates in AA districts and minority districts..As both them being minorities they should have thrown that bullshit out right to begin with..
So unfair to Hillary but, WHAT A FIGHTER TENACITY AND COURAGE SHE HAS…GETTING UP EVERY DAY KNOWING THAT WHATEVER SHE DOES THE PRESS TRIES TO DISTORT
GO HILLARY OUR HERO OUR FIGHTER FOR ALL AMERICANS NOT JUST A FEW..
Some of black community almost offering a scenario for riots in Denver if their baby doesn’t get the nod..Now I hear the DNC is afraid to make a decision based on what is good for AMERICA not what good for Obama’s lock on most of AA community and elite dems how proud I am of Rep Meeks. Rep Tubbs Rep Lee and the crap that they have taken…the death threats and harassment…
ABOUT TIME FOR MR. OBAMA STEP DOWN AND APOLOGIZE TO THE NATION FOR PUTTING US THRU THIS MESS AND SETTING RACIAL RELATIONS IN THIS COUNTRY BACK 40 YEARS..BE A MAN AND IF YOU ARE A PROUD AMERICAN THEN DO THE RIGHT THING AND BOW OUT OF THIS AS YOU WON’T BE PRES IN NOV..THE REPUBLICANS ARE ALREADY AT IT AND THEY WILL ONLY GET WORSE AND WE SHALL HEAR NOTHING BUT, REZKO..KHALIDI..SAID..FARRAHKAN..WRIGHT..THE WEATHER UNDERGROUND..OH THE FUN THEY WILL HAVE WITH THIS ONE AND AYERS CONNECTION..
DAMN IS THE DNC JUST STICKING THEIR HEAD IN THE SAND..OOOH DON’T ROCK THE VOTE THE AA GOT TO HAVE THEIR MAN..WELL SOME OF THINK DIFFERENTLY AND GLAD TO SEE SOME AA WHO HAVE A THINKING BRAIN AND KNOW WHO IS THE LEADER HERE AND CERTAINLY IS NOT CRYBABY BARRY…

I just wrote Jake Tapper.

This is one of the paragraphs I wrote:

Jake,

I gotta say, I used to follow you. But the passed two days you have certainly failed as a journalist. First you take the bogus War Room video seriously, and post on it without verifying it. That is in itself is absurd considering the source. And today you use the tragic death of a horse in the Kentucky Derby as an omen for Hillary Clinton’s campaign. Can’t we ust keep the death of Eight Belles as something that is tragic and sad? Why do you insist on using anything, including things from the gutter, to undermined Hillary Clinton’s legitimate momentum?

***************

This is what he replied to me:

Never posted the bogus clip, never made light of the horse’s death.

*******************

So I responded:

I guess we totally disagree. You did post on the bogus War Room clip. I didn’t say posted it. You did not verify the source like you should have. And yes you did make light of the horses death by comparing it to Hillary’s chances in the election. I would say that is making light of a tragic death of a beautiful animal. Like I said Jake try to re-think what you write. There are still a lot of people who take you seriously. I used to, but you have lost me now.

Here is his email if you want to write him:

Yeah that’ll work. Don’t forget Tapper works for the outfit that aired The Path to 911.

And used to be owned by Capital Cities, a front company for Reagan flunky and CIA Director William Casey.

You know, I have really come to like Jake Tapper. He seems to be fairly objective, an equal opportunity snark sometimes. I’m disappointed that he posted on that video, if he did not have the means to properly screen it, first. I thought journalists were supposed to have a good dose of skeptism? He should have known that something as volitale as what Kantor was accused of saying, is not something you give credibility to, even with a disclaimer that you don’t have time to check it out. It should have been left uncommented, or he could have asked a staff member in NY to check it out while he finished his sandwich. THEN he could have been the journalistic superman that broke the “this is SOO fake” story, instead of having to backtrack.

As far as the Eight Belles post of his… Unfortunate that he chose to equate it with the race, but I honestly didn’t find it as outrageous as some people have today. I’d rather save my ire for the scumbags that are directly and overtly making light of the tragedy to puff more air up Obama’s ass.

I’m learning that I can’t expect every journalist to agree with everything I think — and I just didn’t think he crossed a line with that. But.. once again, it was something that he should have just left unsaid. If someone has a pattern of being unfair, then I’ll call them on it. I think it was good to let Jake know that he erred, but I’m glad that no one is making this a big full on attack on him (not the best way to get a journalist to treat you candidate fairly.)

What a vitriolic site this can be. Just fantastic.

I especially like the second commenter, with the wonderful name “Uppity,” who calls Obama supporters “little savages.” That’s pretty choice. Really makes me doubt Obama’s message.

Good work!!

:(

Scratch an Obama hater…

The Clinton supporters were treated like crap by B.O. supporters on Daily Kos, and other democratic blogs.
Every mild post got a dozen of smart-assed, snotty cracks.
Finally, after being threatened with being outted, Clinton people took off, and settled around a couple of outstanding blogs like this one.
The articles here are actually CREDIBLE.
Kos has been grinding out pure hit crap since summer.
So if Clinton supporters have a little contempt for B.O. droids, this is one of the reasons.

ABC/Disney, Walmart, and now Kos & TPM free reader here.
ABC/Disney because of that propaganda hit piece The Path to 911, Walmart because of worker treatment, Kos and TPM for Hillary bashing.

If you don’t like the “vitriol”–which is Obamaese for “Anything Other than Unqualified Obama Adoration”–why don’t you just step off, and make us all happy. Don’t let the door hit ya, there, either, Cultist! Head on over to Kos and join the circle jerk there. Surely there must be a few Clinton supporters left over there that you can hunt down like a pack of rabid dogs and tear to shreds.

Why are you trolling over here, anyway? Making trouble, just because you can? Do the Obama organizers pay you with the five buck donations those college kids send in every week to run around the web bothering people, or are you doing this of your own initiative, and just stuck in Mom’s basement, unemployed and bored?

I am sorry but through this decision that Sen Rodham might take when she says:

“If Senator Obama is the nominee, you better believe I’ll work my heart out for him,” Clinton said.

umm…I cannot follow and support her there. I can’t stand that “Mr. Caught If You Can” OB, he and the SD are sure he can win without those from Hillary that do not support him,? Ok go ahead and let’s see how it goes.

And for the MSM, I do not watch MNSBC, CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS util they notice that by being unfair and insisting that they will follow according to them ”the only winner OB”, well keep in love with him. But from will not get ratings.

Thanks, to my pc I can visit every website to be informed about news, or those videos in “youtube”, “googlevideos”, without having my tv stuck in any channel giving them ratings that they do not deserve. What they are doing to Hillary is disgusting.

I cannot believe there aren’t at least a tv station that would cover in a fair way her campaign. All of them are against her, the MSM, talk radios, almost all the newspapers, and then you have to face all those who comment in the blogs or the articles of the newspapers, people that are obviously paid by OB, to be alert on any article that might portrays Sen Rodham in a positive way, there they are as “7/24″ watchers to immediately type negative comments against her.

Sadly not too many people have the time of these ‘young kids with a lot of time in their hands’, who keep posting negative things to damage with their vicious words whatever good was said in the article about Hillary. They even have the comment already copied, so the only thing they do, when they see an article about Hillary, they just “copy and paste” their negative comment, and there they comply with being in OB’ payroll, that’s their job to smear Sen Rodham with vile comments.

It could be interesting too, if all the people (we) that support Hillary to stop watching and listening to the MSM and see their ratings going down. Anyway we can see what they are saying through their websites,
or have someone to listen to those radio talk hosts and to record them in any unfair and inaccurate comment being said about our Comander In Chief!

We must be in alert and united, not allowing any chance for the people of OB and JM to end with our chance to have Hillary as the President, every day I feel very proud of this woman, she is tough and always in ‘alert’ for those catchy questions, always look polished, in good spirits, with good command shows that her proposals are viable!

Wishing her all the best, to keep strong, that please Hillary do not let those SD tell you to ’step down’, keep fighting, please for us, and we will keep fighting for you. We are not in fear if they continue saying that people from OB will be in riots, well Hillary ‘is not alone’, if they dare to do something to her, we will be there to protec her! Do not dare to threat her nor her people. We will stand by her, and we will end “that game” to force us to vote for OB in order to stop JM to win,… No, no, no, my vote is for ‘her’ not the Democratic Party. I will happily abstain to vote!

I plan to hold my nose and pull the D lever in November if Obama is the nominee because a John McCain presidency means a SCROTUS packed with Scalia clones.
However don’t count on me come 2012. You listening, Howard, Nancy, Harry?

Comment by marle | 2008-05-04 00:55:57

sorry used meat I can’t hold my nose or cross my fingers or do any of such stuff as the background that Obama has when Farrahkan and Wright ..pardon Rezko etc with all his new found power his friends will be at the door wanting their payback..from Ayers terrorists who he doesn’t seem to mind that they are damn lucky both are not behind bars what makes them any different from timothy mcveigh or that guy down in carolina who evaded the authorities the bomber of atlanta and several other bombings now in jail..
mcveigh put to death..hey where is the difference with the Ayers family they bomb things and because they hid out and fbi screwed up they are walking and now upstanding members of the chicago and greater illinois politcal family..damn since when do we forgive someone who is not even remorseful about what the did and the havoc they reeked on this country..
I’ll take ole John rather than pull lever for a man who I don’t know who he is or what on earth he believes in..20 years sitting and engaging reveling in this theology of Africa first..
wake up america
we do this and dems might just as well hang it up
..look at todays election down in Miss and La..republicans took them when dems had best shot in years to cash in on these seats ..
what happened…BARACK OBAMA .. is the happening and the disgusting ads they ran against some good dems down there..I hope this wakes up this dnc and SD…
WAKE UP SD AND DEAN AND PELOSI..I WONDER WHAT THEY THINK AFTER PROMOTING OUR CHANCES WITH AN OBAMA AT TOP OF TICKET..GOODBYE TO THAT..

I don’t like Daily Kos. It’s a bunch of noise to me.

I don’t hate Hillary.

It’s like they always say, civil wars are the worst. It’s hard to tell when people are just harshly commenting out of bitterness. Certain people, though, reveal themselves to be horrible. This is a large part of why, I think, the GOP doesn’t want to face a black man in the general. They’re afraid their worst supporters’ stripes will show. (Of course, the fact that it’s much, much easier to get away with misogyny than racism is extremely unfortunate for Hillary. Her femaleness is the part of her I support strongly. If the next paragraph weren’t true about me, I’d be more even in my passion for both the Dem candidates, and slamming both of their detractors. However…)

I just can’t get excited about her. She’d be a mostly-fine President, sure. Sometimes even wonderful. I just feel pretty sure that she’d probably drive me crazy fairly often, not do especially much for my gay friends (by liberal standards), triangulate a bit too much, raise the profile of wingnuts by giving them ammunition (a la Bill in the 90’s, although I know he got a raw deal. He also directly enabled W.’s rise by his philandering. I know it’s taboo to bring up, but since when is it okay for a boss to boink a subordinate? Let alone the most powerful man in the world? This is a minor point that is actually not minor), and she’d probably not make me feel like I have a kindred spirit in the White House. I think so, at least. That’s all. This is how I feel. Go ahead and hate me for it, if you must.

I feel these are legit points. Her threshold of competency is believable, but any sort of transcendent ability is as yet entirely undemonstrated. Maybe it’s elitist of me to even want that.

Other than things like that, she’d be fine. I’d vote for her, of course, no doubt. I just think that Obama is much, much, much more my sort of person; and his battles will be my battles. They are now. I basically respect Hillary supporters, in general, or at least in theory… except it’s hard to love her right now when she seems, as far as I can tell at least, to actively and willfully enable the meta-narratives that right-wingers use to trash the liberal movement: such as the whole bogus”elitist” trope (after it was deployed against her for so long!!! This one does make me angry at her, in fact.), the idea that Black rage is equivalent to White racism, the vaguely anti-feminist idea that standard-issue experience is necessary to validate apparent aptitude, among other things…

In a real conversation, I’m sure I’d find common ground with the non-horrible-seeming people here. Not “Uppity,” probably, for example.

USA! USA! USA!

Anyway. Enough about me. This election isn’t about me. It’s about you. So go ahead, y’all. Hit me. :)

>>> the GOP doesn’t want to face a black man in the general. They’re afraid their worst supporters’ stripes will show.

This is not borne out by the GOP sweeps in 1968, 1972 and 1980. They don’t care who is in their tent or to whom they must pander to get them there…they’ll clean house when they get to 1600 Pennsylvania.

(see: fundamentalists, Christian; hardhats, uninformed; Right-to-Lifers, marginalized; and, Conservatives, fucked over and often)
