Stomp on This?

Barack Obama may have been eight years old when William “Billy” Ayers was planting bombs at the State Department and the U.S. Capitol, but the Senator was a grown man working in the employ of Mr. Ayers when this picture appeared in August 2001.

Photobucket

Bill Ayers was busy promoting his book and this was one of the promotional photos. Two of the money quotes from a book published in 2003,

Family Circle: The Boudins and the Aristocracy of the Left

(by Susan Braudy on p. 352) states:

my second proudest achievement was living underground for ten years without getting arrested.

and

guilty as hell, free as a bird, it’s a great country.

And then a month later told a New York Times reporter his only regret was that he did not plant more bombs. So what does this have to do with Barack Obama?

Plenty! Barack was the Chairman of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge Foundation. Bill Ayers, an unrepentant terrorist with wealthy family connections, had co-founded the Chicago Foundation and named Obama as the Chairman of said entity. So by 2001 Barack and Ayers had worked closely together on an effort to reform Chicago public schools. I am all in favor of school reform. But if you are involved with politics you ought to understand that if you hang with, work with, and politic with a guy who is an unrepentant terrorist that it might reflect badly on you. In fact, you should put some distance between yourself and said terrorist.

Barack did not. What is curious is that Barack despite facing criticism about his lack of experience, is closed mouthed when it comes to discussing his stint running a $50 million dollar foundation. What is he hiding? That is a question that will be answered before the November presidential election. The only doubt is whether the Democrats will insist on finding out the truth first or will let the Republicans serve them a steaming pile of crap come the fall. And while the image of Bill Ayers gleefully stomping the American flag makes the rounds, Obama’s vain attempt to portray himself as a new kind of non-politician will be stomped into oblivion.

Too bad their FIRST book is no longer in print. you know, the one that calls for a unified Communist Party?

Comment by SusanUnPC | 2008-05-03 19:45:31

Which iteration would that be? Leninist? Stalinist? Maoist?

Man, when I was in college and I was cool, I had a copy of Mao’s little red book.

(Clearly i had no potential to be a revolutionary because i found it very boring, and the people who quoted from it incessantly especially BORING!)

Out of them all, only anarchy — in its purest form — ever appealed to me. Someday, I need to read a good book about the anarchic period in Spain. Would love to know more about that history. Of course, as Orwell pointed out, there were no “good guys” in all of that.

Then there was my brief Ayn Rand period. Went to an Objectivist meeting once. At least they were interesting — they made such a romance of intellectualism.

Comment by Untilthelastdogdies | 2008-05-03 20:07:56

Someday, I need to read a good book about the anarchic period in Spain.

Susan, when you have the time, try reading Anthony Beevor’s The Battle for Spain, published, I believe in the 80’s…a fascinating history of the Spanish Civil War and good background for anyone who enjoyed “Pan’s Labrynth”.

Larry, as for Billy Ayers, I think he would have been better served living in Northern Ireland during The Troubles..hell, even the IRA (with a few notable exceptions) called-in their bomb warnings!

Comment by workingclass artist | 2008-05-03 20:18:19

Agree and although I do not in any way support terrorism of any kind,
the IRA had a serious political agenda. Eventually peace is in Northern Ireland. Ayers and his ilk have no cause except destruction. Anarchy.
I’m only mentioning the difference between imagined political ideologies and real ones. Ayers is a demogogue.

Comment by requiemforadancer | 2008-05-03 20:43:15

I don’t think peace is achieved through violence, though.

The IRA had other ways, and aren’t a lot of the mercs former IRA?

Not a good thing, at all…

Comment by requiemforadancer | 2008-05-03 20:44:59

And they blew up Lord Mountbatten, and still murdered civilians, despite warnings.

Boy, I remember the pictures of his devasted ship, very bad, unnecessary, terrorism is terrorism.

No thanks.

Comment by workingclass artist | 2008-05-03 21:05:19

I’m not in any way saying peace is justified by terrorism.
I was drawing a distinction about Ayers being a rich kid anarchist. That is all…I do not support terrorism any more than I would support fascism. I apologize for the clumsiness of my example.

OT, but since you mentioned Mao…

When I first moved to China, I asked a friend to teach me some of the Mao-era slogans. The first thing I learned to say really well in Chinese was “打倒美帝国主义(Down with American Imperialism).” To her horror, whenever I was asked if I could speak Chinese, I would respond with that sentence.

Here’s some food for thought everyone. I want to share a little conspiracy theory with you.

What if some private investors knew someone who is related to a top offical in Kenya.

That top official has oil in his land.

It would be a real advantage if these investors could get this relative elected to a top office in the US. After all, let the US pay for a lot of the expense for drilling.

Think how many big officials that can make or break a country’s electability… but if promised a cut of the pie told in secrecy… can overlook a multitude of short commings of a person.

Just thinking.

Comment by mosinoto | 2008-05-03 20:01:23

I mentioned this before, as a kid, my friends and I would hang out with a group of engineering and physics students.

And it was this group that was “recruited” by this guy, a “communist,” a small guy, with glasses, who also attended the University of Illinois, at Chicago, where Ayers teaches, and where my friend went to school.

Even as a kid, we knew those people were delusional, just unrealistic in their projections, in their understanding of Americans, and this guy WAS an American. But we went to listen to him anyway, at someones apartment, just to hear what he had to say. When we got there, he checked to see if the cops had followed us(!), his faithful crew of two sitting by his feet. One girl, just completely deranged, ideologically, for lack of a better word, almost seemed besotted, just glad for the validation this guy gave to her, he being the head commie, I suppose. He treated her like a second class citizen, the dysfunction SO obvious.

The only thing I remember about the meeting was arguing with him he had no understanding of blue collar Americans, (the base he was hoping to lead to revolution, and he didn’t), and a cracked porcelain tea cup, sitting on a TV tray atop a lace doily.

I read about Ayers, here, and I think how far from reality can this guy be, to speak and think like this?

Amazing, just amazing.

I never took it seriously, I thought they were a joke, didn’t even give it a second thought, he was such an intellectual lightweight.

and just a brief opinion on anarchists. Not all anarchists are bomb-throwing assholes. Definition of anarchist is a person who thinks all forms of government are wrong. I think Ursula LeGuin (oh hell, maybe it was Doris Lessing.. or even somebody else) wrote a book trying to create an anarchist society. I think i remembered they had to go through a lot of contortions to do it– and obviously I didn’t find it highly memorable. But still, it was an interesting excercise by the writer. And the people in it were not prone to violence.

Ayers is in a class of psychopaths. Hidden in any movement I would have to venture he would be the same. He just drifted where he could set off bombs and high-five other pieces of shit of his ilk. But I guess that’s the point everybody’s making.

and not to be left out Obama’s chosen grandfather Frank Davis in Hawaii, proud Communist Party of USA memeber and Obama mentor before college!

Comment by Northwest rain | 2008-05-03 20:11:18

Of all the kapuna (elders — Hawaiian men and women of wisdom, Grandparents or by choice) Obama could have chosen as a mentor he chose this person and brags about it in his book.

There are so many Native Hawaiian Kapuna who could have served as a mentor to young Obama — but no he wasn’t much interested in the real Hawaii. My life is richer because of the Kapuna in Hawaii — now if you want story tellers — the oral tradition is and was very much alive in the Native Hawaiian community.

He just wanted to go to a rich kids school with other rich kids. Punahoe was the school of the “Missionary Boy’s Club” — the chauvinist pigs who overthrew the last Queen of Hawaii. She wanted to do right by her people — and the Missionary Boys just wanted to be Plantation Lords on the land they stole. Well we know who Obama’s heros were!

The more I learn about him — the more evidence there is that he is a self centered jerk.

Comment by yttik | 2008-05-03 21:12:10

You make a really good point. I love Hawaii, the culture, traditions, legends. I was amazed to find all that absent from Obama’s books. How can you grow up in Hawaii and miss all that?

He could have identified with the Hawaiian people, recognized their struggles, their history. Instead he’s tucked away in an elite private school, no doubt looking down on everybody else with the same self centered attitude he shows today.

Hehehe, Mel, a few weeks ago, or over a month ago, Michael Savage (don’t attack me, lol, I listen to him because he entertains me with some crazy ideas lol) anyway, Savage was talking about Frank-Obama relations, and how Obama mentions it in his book, calling Frank close friend, or mentor, or uncle, but doesn’t mention the full name. Savage then went on to talk about his “communist-marxist” ties and was livid. (Well, he goes livid pretty often.)
Again, because Obama was never vetted by the party, these ties were not brought up, but rest assured, the GOD will have a great time doing so if he is the nominee.

Michelles father was a long time Democrat Precinct captain in the dirty Chciago political arena, deliver votes and you are owed is the way it works, the Daley way there Susan!

In my mind, Obama was no accident rising star, he was a called in favor by Michelle’s dad before he died!

Ever loopk at the time Obama and Michelle met at Sidley Austin, never a correct year, some reports say 1988 some say 1989.

Someone also had to carry Obama though Harvard, he couldn’t of saved enough for food and lodging for 3 yrs off his community organizer job when Obama was renting a basement apartment outside Harvard costing $700 a month in rent!

Something gut feeling is connect Sidley Austin, Martha Minow who does a lot of work with Bernadine Dohrn and who’s father until 1991 was Sidley Austin’s managing partner and very active in Democratic politics going back to the days of JFK when head of FCC and good friend of Thomas Ayers and Daley! And don’t forget Michelle’s dad was earning over 40 grand a year working in a water plant, 25% more than teachers were making at the time, proving Michelle’s dad was a deliverer of his precinct big time!

Ever see the house Michelle lived in, it is no squabble she makes it out to be, it was owned by her Aunt who lived downstairs and they lived upstairs in the place, definately no slum dwelling!

It is all in who you know, think it was Rezko who got Michelle the big job at U of C Hospital, hardly, when you have backers like Pritzky, and Rowe who are major contributors of the hospital, Pritzkers have donated over 32 million to the place and build a childrens wing, James Crown is board of trustees chairman, so how did as it was called a very important job be created for Michelle there, so important she can take over a year off to campaign for hubby?

So, Ayers was a failure his whole life, in addition to everything else, he could never really make anything work, just like his silly attempts at terrorism?

Must eat away at him.

I wonder if he drinks, or drugs, he must be so frustrated?

When Obama came from NY to Chicago…I keep getting this image that Obama was “sleeping” in Ayers “guest room”.

Davis to Ayers SR as is Obama to Ayers JR.

Does any one know in the first few months after arriving in Chicago where he lived?

When Obama moved to Chicago, he had an apartment waiting for him there! He lived in it for a while before moving in with a white girl!

I would like to see a larger photo of Ayers stomping the American flag. Is there one available? My poor eyes have the hardest time reading the caption. Plus the photo gives me ideas for a diary brewing in my devious mind.

How could they print a graphic like this?
How could Ayers get away with it?
How could Obama get away with this connection?
What happen to this country?!?

Wow, that photo of the flag is going to play well in Smalltown, USA come November. Especially in those towns that had some of their boys and girls brought home draped in them.

And the democratic “elite morons” have no clue how offensive it is to most Americans, no idea at all how these images will be exploited, despite all the ” Obama isn’t responsible for Ayers (wirght, Rezko, Auchi, et al)” crap they’re trying to float.

You’re in a pipe dream, Obama is toast.

Ayers, and even Pelosi are so ARROGANT, they make rational people gag, specious arrogance mixed with an obtuse narcissism, with no talent or skill to make them even barely tolerable.

Out they go.

I saw it all tonite, I was watching one of those shows on HGTV, and it featured an upper middle class younger couple from the South, and watching the husband, NO WAY he buys into that arrogant affront that is Obama, who with any healthy self respect would?

Race having nothing to do with it, Clinton would impress this man, reach this man.

Obama and the swamp…The early years.
Zulfan Adi was one of the neighborhood kids who teased Obama most mercilessly. He remembers one day when young Obama, a hopelessly upbeat boy who seemed oblivious to the fact that the older kids didn’t want him tagging along, followed a group of Adi’s friends to a nearby swamp.

“They held his hands and feet and said, `One, two, three,’ and threw him in the swamp,” recalled Adi, who still lives in the same house where he grew up. “Luckily he could swim. They only did it to Barry.”

My uncle burned his draft card in like ‘69.

But then he went to prison for a year. And he never blew anything up. And no one he knows is running for President. Of course, I’m pretty sure he did vote for Nader in 2000…
