Uppity Woman wrote a heck of a story on May 1 that blew my mind: “Obama Snubs Black Media.” Now, thanks to UPI, we find out that he’s also avoiding black neighborhoods:
RALEIGH, N.C., May 2 (UPI) — Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., has been avoiding stops in black communities in his quest to become the first black major party nominee for the U.S. presidency.
The saddest line in this sorry story? “Isaac Onah, a political science professor at the University of North Carolina, told the Boston Globe that black voters appear to understand Obama’s campaign strategy.” Oh great, Barack. Even your hapless black supporters know you’re trying to win white votes by not being seen with them.
Maybe Obama’s like his preacher. He talks the talk about racial equality and believes in black nationalism. But where is Rev. Wright having his church pay for and build his multi-million-dollar mansion? In an overwhelmingly WHITE and GATED community, on a golf course. Talk’s cheap, isn’t it.
Furthermore, Obama can “run but he can’t hide”: USAToday’s’s story today by Susan Page, “Poll: Flap over pastor hurts Obama,” notes that “Barack Obama’s national standing has been significantly damaged by the controversy over his former pastor.” Writes Page, a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll’s finding raises “questions for some voters about the Illinois senator’s values, credibility and electability.”

It’s thin alright. Thin on honesty, integrity, and just plain being who you are, instead of running from it.
There’s something profoundly, deeply tragic in this.
I can dig wanting to be the “post-racial” candidate. But wanting to be the candidate who avoids people who look like him? That’s the ugliest form of politics.
Obama is a chameleon. He changes colors (says or does whatever he needs to say or do) to win somebody over, whether he believes it or not. Other words that come to mind are fraud and scam artist.
Obama is unelectable.

Is his base of AA voters to be used only when necessary and pushed to the back of the bus while he courts the white vote? First, stating matter-of-factly that Obama leads in the popular vote shows how in-the-tank the media is for Obama. Hillary is ahead in the popular vote.
Second, here’s another story about Hillary being “kept afloat” by women’s votes, with NOTHING being said about the 9-1 lead Obama enjoys in the AA vote.
Also, Zogby is making an ass of himself on POTUS 08, once again promoting bogus polls showing twenty percent undecided and a toss-up in Indiana. Just like he did for Pennsylvania, Texas and Ohio. Tomorrow Zogby will publish his REAL poll, showing Hillary but by six or seven in Indiana and NC much closer than previously reported.
Then on Wednesday he’ll congratulate himself for being “exactly right.” Again.
Just shameful.
How do you explain not counting the votes of two major states needed to win in November?

The problem for Howard Dean and Donna Brazile was that this was a set up for Obama to be the nominee after Super Tuesday. First of all Obama could not close the deal and second of all they underestimated the tenacity of Hillary Rodham Clinton.

All are caucus states except MO and Hillary won big in the rural areas and won all counties except St Louis and Kansas City (big AA vote). MO was a win for Obama but very narrow.

Back in 2004 at the Democratic Convention, I remember thinking after Obama made that speech and she appeared on the stage with him, what an attractive power couple.
And then she hit the campaign trail. She’s not been an asset at all. She’s playing the strong black woman persona, who doesn’t take any shit. Sorry, but it ain’t workin from a media standpoint. I keep saying, why does she of all people have such an overt chip on a shoulder. She lives in a mansion, her husband is a US Senator, she’s a lawyer. Somebody needs to mention to her: uh you’ve achieved the American Dream, even without the presidency. Attitudes like that I accept here in my neighborhood where unemployment is high and money is tight. From them, not at all.
Check out the Meredith Viera Today Show interview on youtube. She is clenched jawed and almost snarling. Her posture is terrible: round-shouldered and practically slumping.
The body language between the two of them was also cold and tense. There was only one moment of warmth and it came from Obama. It looked like she was ticked off with him a bit. Believe me, I know that look.
I noticed that slumping posture, too, Mimi, right after he gave the (second) Wright apology speech. He was stumping somewhere and she was sitting next to him, her hair sticking out from the top of her head, slack-jawed, staring into space.

I didn’t get that at all from the article. What this AA wants to know is now that Rev Wright is out of the bag, why continue to try to run this ‘transcendant’ campaign? At this point, there’s no reason to completely avoid all AA neighborhoods. He could at least schedule one.

Obama’s Bleak Future

It doesn’t look good at all for Obama politically. And Obama’s Internet warriors will be very proud of themselves when Obama loses everything and goes down in massive defeat in the form of some whimpering off for “personal family matters.” But could there be more trouble for Obama than losing the nomination?
Thanks to Obama stupidly running for an office he is unqualified for and his woefully poor judgment, many cans of worms have been opened up. And who knows what else might come out that might even cause him legal trouble, not to mention he is now risking losing his Senate seat with all the animosity he has caused by threatening race riots and insurrection if he is not elected.
I have no knowledge this is actually occurring, but it is logical to assume Democratic Party officials are currently working behind the scenes to boot Obama out on his ass, out of the presidential race. Perhaps it probably would be more of a parachute than a boot, because of the hornet’s nest of racial tension and threats of violence Obama has used in his campaign.
Obama played the race/fear card already and it has lost its effect and in fact has totally backfired: Now, people fear Obama himself.
The Obama supporters tend to be gullible and impressionable, therefor they would never even consider that what is before their eyes — Obama’s continuing the campaign — and what goes on behind closed doors — could be too very different animals, indeed.
So if pro-Obama folks want to create fake videos and spread rumors about them as if the videos are real, by all means, they can spin their wheels all they want. And if they want to boast about super delegates Obama has been buying, that’s fine. Until there is a massive defection of SDs, that’s all noise designed to keep our morale down. Hillary has an amazing ground game going and the people involved could give a flying fuck about Internet noise and diversions from young people. And to these young people, this is all a game, and when its over they can go back to masturbating and watching video games.
The Oath of Office Obama agreed to:
“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.”
I think one could argue Obama has violated his Oath of Office and the Constitution of the United States he swore he would support and defend in many many ways.
Since Obama is a pseudo “Constitutional Law Professor” he should have no problem explaining how fomenting insurrection does not violate the Constitution and his Oath of Office.
Furthermore, Article I Section 6 of the US Constitution that Obama swore to support and defend states:
“The Senators and Representatives shall receive a Compensation for their Services, to be ascertained by Law, and paid out of the Treasury of the United States. They shall in all Cases, except Treason, Felony and Breach of the Peace, be privileged from Arrest during their Attendance at the Session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same; and for any Speech or Debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other Place.”
I am not a lawyer, but it is pretty clear to me Obama has been involved in a “Breach of the Peace” and could suffer the consequences of this violation of the Constitution and his Oath of Office. I’ll let legal scholars and real Constitutional law professors debate this.
Article II Section 4 of the USC could be further trouble for Obama:
“The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.”
Article III Section 3 of the USC defines Treason and its punishment as follows:
“Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.
The Congress shall have Power to declare the Punishment of Treason, but no Attainder of Treason shall work Corruption of Blood, or Forfeiture except during the Life of the Person attainted.”
Perhaps not in the legal sense but against the spirit of the USC, Obama’s relationship with Ayers (and god knows who else yet to be unmasked) could be construed as giving “aid and comfort” to our enemies.
To be thorough on the treason issue, Article IV Section 2 of the USC contains:
“A Person charged in any State with Treason, Felony, or other Crime, who shall flee from Justice, and be found in another State, shall on Demand of the executive Authority of the State from which he fled, be delivered up, to be removed to the State having Jurisdiction of the Crime.”
The Constitution of the Unites States is an amazing document and provides our country with protections that I hope we won’t have to use to protect ourselves any time soon.
For some reason I don’t think Obama ever studied the Constitution too carefully. He certainly has no trouble stomping on and pissing all over it. “So help me God” is part of the oath Obama took — he better hope his god will forgive him. I don’t think America will ever forgive him though.
I know I won’t forgive Obama, his supporters, cronies, surrogates, contributors and endorsers for the dog shit they have dragged America through under the guise of “we just have to have a black president” — when in reality Obama could give a rat’s ass about black people or any other people for that matter and has set back the civil rights movement many years. Obama only cares about Obama and his future does look very bleak, indeed.

Jeff, the Democrats AREN’T going to win in November. Plenty of people will see to it. Obama will never be president if he is endorsed and we both pretty much know he likely will be. Nobody wants riots in the streets even though they know he’s a huge loser.
Agreed, and I know you are referring to if Obama is the nominee, but I don’t see that happening. Democratic leaders know we can’t afford 4 or 6 years of McCain. There is way too much at stake as issues of major concern have to be taken on, head on. I’ll be writing about this soon.
America is strong and resilient and should never and will never give in to blackmail. It sets a horrific precedent. This is why I have faith Obama is being guided out the door behind the scenes, as we speak.

Jeff, I know you are a card-carrying member of the Obamaborg, but this is a Koolaid-free zone (except for you trolls), so many of us have different opinions about the state of the selection process and freely express them. We don’t just type in what was in the memo received from Obama headquarters this morning, as you do.
A month ago, I would have agreed that Dean and the other party leaders were going to succeed in making Obama the nominee in spite of his obvious unelectability. Recent events, however, have caused my opinion to change. Things are obviously going Hillary’s way, and it looks more and more like Dean will in fact not be able to impose his will on the party.
Threatening violence is not going to work. Dean may be willing to spinelessly cave to such tactics, but the majority of voting Dems will never stand for it. Obama and his followers took the good will he brought into this contest and with their bullying, smirky, sexist, racist and ageist campaign have destroyed any chance of his being a viable candidate in the GE.
Too many good solid Democrats are just not willing to hold their noses and vote for this guy in the GE. I am not a Reagan Democrat — I voted for Carter and Mondale; but I will never vote for the frighteningly Bush-like Obama should he get the nomination. If Dean cares anything about this party, he will look for a graceful exit and push Obama through it. But whether or not he has the sense to do that, it looks like Hillary will prevail, and not a minute too soon for the good of this country.
