Aha! It’s Rush Limbaugh’s Fault that Obama Lost Indiana!

Blue bloods sure seem to get the blues easily, huh. John Kerry, political genius — and Obama campaign manager David Pfouffe — have blamed Rush Limbaugh for Barack Obama’s failure to win Indiana last night, reports Politico.com’s Ben Smith.

“Rush Limbaugh was tampering with the primary,” Kerry said “If it was not for Republicans taking Democratic ballots, he would have won,” he said of Obama.

Now, there’s a pal of mine who just is not sufficiently respectful. Today, she called John Kerry a “low information voter with a C average who married to a tomato squasher.” (And, not surprisingly, she got troll-rated at MyDD for this intemperate remark.)

But what the two geniuses Pfouffe and Kerry do not realize is that Rush has given them a BIG boost towards victory! Pouty Poofy and Jawin’ John should NOT look this gift horse in the mouth! Here’s Mark Halperin’s big headline at Time magazine’s The Page blog:

Limbaugh “Releases” Superdelegates to Obama

And MSNBC has the hot video:

Halperin also reports:

After months of promoting “Operation Chaos,” in which the conservative talk show host pushed listeners to vote for Clinton to aid McCain, he pulls back on Wednesday and tells them to go for Obama.

Adds: “He will lose. He will lose big and you supers know it….but go ahead. Go ahead and get in the tank for him.”

Though in “special” monologue he pushes Clinton not to drop out. “You’ve come too far to quit…this one, Mrs. Clinton, you do deserve.”

Listen to clip of broadcast here.

I’m sure those superdelegates will help you get over the top, David and John! Now quit your whinin’.

And so what if Rush is ecstatic because he knows your candidate is the BIGGEST LOSER the Republicans could have hoped for!

(Oops, that’s the secret that the rest of the country knows. Hope you two didn’t read Halperin today. You two will only discover that secret come November, David and John. Unless … well, there’s still a good chance that we can keep THAT history from coming to pass.)

P.S. There are a couple other states that you two oughta worry about:

Rush is the reason Obama lost Indianna? So what’s HIS excuse? As Lewis Black said, finding a person who could lose to Bush in the general election is like finding a normal person who could lose in the Special Olympics.

Axelrod is pitchin’ pennies again. When was the last time you recall a Democrat whining about a Republican being the reason for their defeat?

Isn’t IT Ironic?

Mr. Play It Safe was afraid to fly
He packed his suitcase and kissed his kids goodbye
He waited his whole damn life to take that flight
And as the plane crashed down he thought
“Well isn’t this nice…”
And isn’t it ironic… don’t you think

As Lewis Black said, finding a person who could lose to Bush in the general election is like finding a normal person who could lose in the Special Olympics.

That sums it up nicely. :)

Rush doesn’t speak for all conservatives (I don’t even listen to him, nor any TalkRight radio — party radio is as bad as Nazi propaganda). He speaks for those who like to listen to the Rev. Wrights on the Right. That sub-set of conservatism that trashes the Right as badly as the Far-Left does to liberalism (more loyal to other countries; cares less of the middle class; and has “unique” ideas about race relations that designed to marginalize more than help; and loves MSM pundits for “critical” analysis to be spoonfed with [I take it they also get their finacial advice from CNBC, too]).

I take a guy’s opinion about a candidate on the street more seriously. Especially those more cynical of this whole election process, and can see right through the corporate Manchurian makers.

But be warned DNC: remember the Kentucky Derby outcome of late? Pushing a dark horse beyond his abilities, causes fatal damage — not only to the thoroughbred that can’t withstand the rigors of the track; but of the body that endorses running such unwinnable stock as policy.

Comment by Dawnelle | 2008-05-08 09:46:16

That is very interesting to know about some Republicans. I will try not to generalize in the future.

I also was assuming the MSM YACKS were equivocating the FILLY to HILLY with the “cut her off at the knees” analogy.

Interesting to see it reversed.

I am so sick of Odrama I get the same pukey feeling when ever I see or hear him now just like I do with W or Chainsaw.

Not even Kristol bothers me as much as Odrama. That is saying something.

I’m sure I will change my tune by Nov.

Comment by blobert | 2008-05-07 23:37:23

Rush isn’t a transparent kind of guy.
I think this is to camouflage what is really going on - republicans are trying to get obama elected, because they know he will get is ass stomped in the GE.

“Voting for Clinton” is code for doing the opposite IMHO.

Comment by ChrisXP | 2008-05-08 00:49:06

republicans are trying to get obama elected, because they know he will get is ass stomped in the GE.

The real reason is the demographics Hillary is pulling in — white, rural, gun owning and even religious vote. That’s the GOP territory for 30 years, and it frightens them that their heralded Reagan Democrats will fall in line behind Hillary. They preened them for 30 years, and to see their attack machine actually help her is salt in a very unsuturable would.

Rush is trying to not alienate Hillary (as Fox News is doing) as they need her votes in the GE — the angry Dems who are fed up that Obama “stole” the election. The whole plan is not to get Hillary elected in the first place, but the projections a year ago never projected she could attract the very GOP base and drain McInsane’s votes! Now the GOP mouth machine’s hands are tied, as they can’t afford to alienate their own base of gun toting and religious conservatives (because Hillary’s message has got to be pulling on their heart strings, since McInsane sure isn’t listening to their concerns at home).

The more Hillary hammers the populist message home (and taking Lou Dobb’s stance), the more she’ll attract not only independents, but the GOP base right back to the Democrat party they fled from in 1980.

The GOP is scared with Hillary now. No amount of Rush jobs or 527s can zero in on her, without destroying their very base of support. Give an A+++ to Hillary’s team in turning the tables right back at the “Republican attack machine”. They figured out the message that works, and a way to corner Rush et al, too. :)

Comment by pm317 | 2008-05-07 23:21:59

All this blaming Rush is counter intuitive. If the repubs are thinking Clinton is the tougher candidate to beat, (conversely Obama the weaker candidate,) why would they vote for Clinton and prop her up? Even in VA, repubs voted for Obama because he was the weaker candidate.

Comment by scott | 2008-05-07 23:31:15

Simply put the GOP waited to launch operation chaos until it was unlikely that Hillary could come back and voting for her would keep her in the race longer thus keeping the dems from having a presumptive nominee to go against McCain head to head.

Nope. It’s the demographics. They never dreamed that Hillary could garner the white, rural, gun toting and religious vote. That’s the voters the GOP was counting on to win over for the “moderate” McInsane during the GE.

So because Hillary is drawing the McInsane vote, Rush et al needs to get Obama to win the nomination. That way angry Hillary supporters will not vote for Obama, or vote for McInsane in protest.

Win/Win either way (and Obamaomatics are too politically dumb to see the train wreck before them).

Arch conservatives love reading military history :cough: Larry :cough:. They understand how/why/when/where a battle is won and lost, but always keeping an eye to not lose the war itself.

Here is a post on hillaryis44 — more Obama shenanigans.
———-

I just got back from Indiana. I was in Kokomo which is in Howard County and we did fine there 56 vs 44, and 67% vs 33% in the precincts I was involved with.

Gary Indiana was obviously a different story. I was a long way from there but some of the people I was with are very familiar with that situation. They told me what happened was the local officials were obama people and they hired more obama people as temporary workers to handle the volume, and that is how the fraud got perpetrated.

They laughed at the idea that there were 11,000 absentee ballots. Historically anytime there is more than 1,000 absentee ballots in that venue there is grounds for suspicion. Gary is low income predominantly AA. Mayor is an obama scumbag.

If we have underestimated anything in the course of this campaign it is the degree to which the Obama campaign will lie cheat and steal on a nationwide basis to achieve their objectives.

Comment by Patriotic Lion | 2008-05-07 23:49:13

I don’t believe in the duality of heaven and hell, but in the case of Obama I believe in the latter and hope he goes straight there, does not pass “Go” and does not collect two-hundred fucking dollars.

The silver lining of this latest scandal is its very close to the end of the primaries and the delegates won’t like this one bit. Another tactical blunder by Obama, he could have coasted to the end and made his best case to the delegates. Now, he’s driven another nail in his campaign’s coffin. This man’s character is made of dog shit.

Oh, and plausible deniability won’t mean diddly, the delegates know he is scum and will hold him responsible.

Comment by pm317 | 2008-05-07 23:55:01

Sometimes I wonder, if all these SDs know about all that WE read. How much do they know about caucus frauds, for example? or Ayers or Auchi or that 90% of his popular vote lead comes from Illinois and 65% of that from Cook county..

Comment by Patriotic Lion | 2008-05-07 23:58:39

They know, the Clinton team is talking to them.

That being said, it doesn’t hurt for one to calmly, respectfully and rationally explain to them what’s what.

Mayor Thomas M. McDermott, Jr., from the neighboring town of Hammond, Indiana, saved the day for Hillary Clinton.

Obama’s campaign practices the worst kind of politics, a la Chicago. That sure is some change for America!

We also underestimated the Koolaid drinking media who has been so in the tank for Obama that they have covered up negative stories.

Something that I underestimated were the scumbags who are running the DNC. Howard Dean and Donna Brazile act like they’re possessed in their lust to get Obama the nomination.

I cannot understand this phrase from Dean, Brazile, Axelrod and Obama. They say they can’t worry about white blue collar workers because they don’t vote Democratic but are excited by the newly registered young voters. Obama took it a step further when he said he is running his campaign for the under 35 group. Why can’t a campaign be run to build on the Democratic Base rather than splitting off the old, poor, sick and gay? I guess its beneath Obama to pander to the Democratic core constituancies. However, pandering to the fatcats is another story.

The DNC leadership/losership wants what’s easiest. That means going with the candidate who bags the most cash. That way, they don’t have to work.

Despicably, Dead and Brazen don’t give a shit if the cash is from slimey bundlers for folks who McCain wouldn’t touch.

Throw the bums out folks! That’s the change I’m hoping for because health care, jobs, the economy, civil liberties and national security are too serious for sell-outs.

There isn’t a dimes difference between the Dems and the Repugs right now anyway. Some of the Dems who are no longer running for Pres. are re-growing balls, but Harry and Nancy are worthless whiners!

I’m just waiting to hear how they don’t like macaroni and cheese! Impeach their sorry asses!!

Apparently, he did not want to hurt Obama because he just met with Hamas — so he “creatively” endorsed Obama.

Now, I feel I made a mistake respecting him.

No worries, just another bump for Hillary. Don’t forget, Hillary balances the math problems with Obama’s huge negatives (in the minds of the delegates by and large) on his scandal and race-baiting fear-mongering problems. Those are far worse!

Not all. ;) During the 2004 campaign it was very apparent when the Neo-Cons drove out Traditional and Paleo conservatives to third parties (on the Iraq war and fiscal irresponsibilities), or change to independents.

Not many of the two wings are “loyal” Republicans, and that’s if they’re even in the GOP anymore — even Pat resigned from the GOP.

I like Carter as a principle character. Don’t always agree with him, like with this issue. But I’ll be glad that he’ll endorse Obama, because that’s food for Republicans to destroy Obama — any Reaganite will remember 1980 and use Teddy’s endorsement of Obama as more fuel for the fire (Teddy has probably worse ratings than even Carter to conservatives. At least Carter stopped Egypt from flattening Israel. Teddy’s father was profitting off the Jews dying in WWII, in contrast).

Oh, the GE is going to be one n-a-s-t-y affair….

Comment by Strawberrybitch | 2008-05-08 12:31:37

It will be a cake walk for you guys. Obama will refuse to debate, whine “No Fair” the moment Wright, Ayers and hamas are brought up, then curl into a fetal postion, sucking his thumb. Comment by Daryl | 2008-05-08 12:08:33

A major part Carter’s sub par perfomance as POTUS can be layed right at the feet of the dems in Congress.

From PBS. Org American Experience

Beginning by rejecting a limo and walking down Pennsylvania Avenue on his cold Inauguration Day in January 1977, Carter waged a symbolic war to bring his own simple, austere style to Washington. Wearing a cardigan sweater, he asked Americans to turn their thermostats down; he turned the lights off around Washington’s monuments; he sold the presidential yacht; and he bombarded Congress with legislation while trying to cut the pork barrel projects it loved.

His actions quickly ended the honeymoon period Carter enjoyed with his fellow Democrats who controlled Congress, and his initial popularity with the public began to decline as his programs became mired on Capitol Hill.

Yup. For that reason, I’m willing to cut him some slack on his time in office.

But on this issue like McGovern, he’s wrong. Maybe it’s just me but if I were Obama I would be very leery about getting endorsements from 2 men who redefined what it meant to lose a general election. Is Mondale next?

Comment by ScottVA | 2008-05-08 00:52:40

The ironic part of that statement is the fact that HE (CARTER) has been sent to many countries before to oversee elections taking place to report fraud…LOL Funny he should promote it in our country’s elections! Carter is a hack PERIOD! The one and only time I ever voted Republican was in 1980! I will do it again this year though if ObiOne is on the ballot!

You not think Bill Ayers is involved in the elections, ever hear of the MDS, FDS, Directors include Mark Rudd, Tom Hayden, Rashid Khalidi and Bernadine Dohrn, Bill Ayers name was removed a few days ago, guess his name is getting too hot of later! Here is something from one of the MDS/SDS sight:

Left Unity for A Left-Center Candidate
Posted on Friday, May 2nd, 2008 by Staff @ 10:04 am
By Keith Joseph / Rutgers SDS Member

I know Jeremiah Wright… Well, I never met him, but I know his ideas, he is a part of the American political left. Nothing he said outraged me, or even upset me. I agreed with a lot of it, and disagreed with some of it. If we were to meet in person I imagine we would get along just fine, and we probably could do some good work together.

Obama had to distance himself from his pastor in order to remain a viable candidate — a smart move. Gary Wills, writing in the May 2008 NY Review of Books, pointed out that Abe Lincoln, who Obama invoked when announcing his own candidacy, was associated with John Brown and the “radical” abolitionists. Like Obama, Abe had to distance himself in pubic from the “extremists.” But the abolitionists remained the left wing of Lincoln’s coalition, and although he publicly disavowed them (gently) he was secretly and indirectly connected to them.

About 100 hundred years later, in 1968, Robert Kennedy’s candidacy for president represented a similar coalition.

His brother, John Kennedy’s election marked the achievement of full citizenship for Catholic (Irish and Italian) workers (that’s why Kennedy’s picture hangs in all those Irish bars). Bobby Kennedy continued to lead those “white” workers and he was bringing them into an alliance with the Civil Rights Movement (Kennedy was meeting and marching with two of its most prominent leaders, Dr. King and Caesar Chavez). In other words, Kennedy’s campaign was a next phase in the Civil Rights struggle. But the assassination of Malcolm X in 1965 and the FBI repression of the left made it difficult for a left wing to get into that coalition and soon King and Kennedy would also be murdered.

These assassinations sent most left wing forces in the United States into a disorientating tailspin that we have yet to recover from. If it were 1968, Hillary would be Hubert Humphrey, McCain would be Nixon, and Obama would be Bobby Kennedy. Some of our friends on the left have asked us to “Recreate ‘68.” Yes, but let’s not repeat the blind rage, instead let’s do it over and send Humphrey and Nixon packing. So, we must build a John Brown, Malcolm X, Jeremiah Wright bloc- a left bloc allied to but independent from Obama’s campaign.

As Malcolm and the movement developed, he emphasized uniting with other left forces. He and King drew closer together, but after Malcolm’s assassination left wing forces pushed liberals and center-left forces away and into the hands of the right. Obama’s campaign is the potential rebirth of the Kennedy-King Coalition. And it is time for the radical left to do what Malcolm would have done-get into the coalition as an independent force, consolidate a left wing and build a liberal and left coalition to stomp the war loving right wing in this country while building our own independent left movement.

We have a couple of immediate basic tasks: Obama must be the Democratic Party candidate-By Any Means Necessary. We should plan to camp right outside of Denver during the Democratic Party’s Convention and hold anti-war demonstrations and our own left convention. If right wing Democrats try to force Hilary-Herbert Humphrey-Clinton on us we march on the convention and make sure Obama gets the nomination–By Any Means Necessary. In November, we must make sure Obama defeats the war criminal John McCain. And finally, after the election, we must be prepared to convene anywhere in the country (Florida, Ohio etc.) to make sure that the Supreme Court does not decide the contest.

Some of our fellow leftists have been very critical of Obama. The problem with their criticism is that they want Obama to be a leftist. He is not a leftist, he is a representative of the progressive, democratic wing of the capitalist class and he is making an appeal to workers of all nationalities to support him. Obama is a liberal. He is a center-left candidate. He is a part of the mainstream of the Democratic Party. We are the left! It is time we got back in the game.

And what exactly is THIS supposed to mean? Nonviolent my ASS. These people are crazy just like they were crazy in 68. And thanks to those crazy assed radicals, 68 gave us Richard Freaking Nixon.

And it turns out it was better to have Nixon. Folks can fault him on a lot of things, but no one can question Nixon’s patriotism to his country. He got caught up in partisanship upmanship, and that was his downfall.

Obama, patriotism is totally lacking, and I sure don’t want a president who’s buddy was a domestic terrorist who to this day claims he didn’t bomb (and kill) enough.

Those Far-Left radicals need to be shipped off to somewhere their Utopias are playing out. Let’s see, Somalia is a good place for them to resettle. I give then a week before they’ll be sending the world crybaby stories from their iPods that rob 10 natives of energy to cook their meals with to transmit (oops, make that 20, since they also advocate alternative fuels for this “Green Earth”, that robs the natives of food, too).

Nutjobs doesn’t even come close. They need their modems pulled.

Obama would be Bobby Kennedy?– OMG what the hell are you talking about. Bobby Kennedy meant everything to me. He was a great man. He cared about all Americans. Who does Obama care about — just himself. Use the propaganda on the under 25 crowd. Those of us who knew and loved Bobby know you are talking out of your posterior.

Hi Larry,

I like you and and I like your weblog and I think you’re a cool dude.

And I hope Senator Clinton is the next President.

Regardless, Senator Obama has my vote should he come out on top.

Cheers and peace to all.

So why on earth should we care what Russ Limbuagh says or does? And especially, why does John Kerry care? You know Russ just feeds on the attention.

Old joke:
Q: What’s the difference between the Hindenburg and Russ Limbaugh?
A: One is a flaming Nazi gasbag. The other is just a dirigible.

I for one don’t give a damn what that Scumbag Russert says! He’s just trying to muck up the process. This is what they do! as for Kerry. I wouldn’t listen to anything that hypocrite has to say. According to all those people out there that say the “Superdelegates should vote the way their districts did, that would mean that Kerry would have to vote for Clinton! What a Tool!

I truly believe that the people of Michigan and Florida should have a big rally against the DNC Party about their civil rights that their votes be counted. Someone somebody should be courageous enough to side with Hillaryto point out that democracy is meaningless if their votes are not counted. Rally also against Obama for blocking their rights. This is soooo wrong!!!!!

Our country is so wrong right now. To think someone like Obama could get this close to the presidency is mind-bogling.
I guess we will have to have four more years of Bush.

Comment by Lucinda | 2008-05-08 06:31:35

I’m already getting used to the idea of voting for John McCain.
The last thing I want for our country is a whining President who can’t take responsibility for his mistakes and losses without finding someone else to blame.
If Hillary doesn’t get the nomination, long live President McCain.

Comment by Talktruth | 2008-05-08 08:08:41

Someone may have already pointed this out, but I think it’s obvious Rush wants Hillary to win. His motivations are not pure, of course. I think he wants her to win so he can joyously bash her for four years. If BO wins, he will, to some extent, have to hold back, and Rush sure as hell doesn’t want to do that. He’d rather let loose on Senator Clinton.

He made it clear to the superdelegates that a vote for BO is a vote for McCain (hats off to beebop for that slogan!) Rush: “Go right ahead. He will lose. He will lose big, and you supers know it. You can see the demographics of his vote tallies. You know it. What is happening with the “Democrat” Party nomination process is the biggest travesty [in a long time - idiotic comment by Rush].”

I believe that a lot of superdelegates want to back a winner, and Rush made very clear who the winner is between these two candidates - Senator Hillary Clinton. The message unmistakable.

No one from the obama campaign complained when obama win with the republican vote–it showed how obama could bring everyone together HA HA
Now when repubs vote for hill it is done for nefarious reasons! Okay which is it?
I have said this from the begining the MSM and the repub know the only way they can win in 08 is for the democrats to nominated their weakness candidate. Ladies and gentlemen I give you Senator Obama. A black man with a muslim name who is friends with a whole lot of muslims but who is not muslim. Oh yeah he is married to a woman who wrote a thesis on the white man’s oppression and marginalizing of black people. Oh yeah and his “father” says god damn America and blames everything bad that ever happened or will happen to black people on the rich white man. Oh boy:

Mr. L.
You are rather transparent. It is not your role to divide the Democratic Party. You may be so blind as not to see that patriots in our country are not looking to continue the national political direction in DC. You obviously now want to see the party divided by race. You know the effect of superdelegates taking away what has been earned by Mr. Obama. You are clearly fanning the flames. I believe that you are acting in an unethical way. You once described yourself as an entertainer. Please entertain and move away from the role as political imp,

Such “patriots” believe in bombing Ms. Smith and kids and displeased that it wasn’t enough — like your pampered pet Ayers the Terrorist scumbag.

Knowing you guys, you’d rather sell your birthright to Bejing for the highest dollar to keep your fat butts in iPods and drugs.

So sick of you Far-Left losers!
