Dear Senator Obama,
This has been an historic and exciting campaign. Millions of new voters have been brought into the process and their enthusiasm for the Democratic Party and the principles for which you and I have fought and continue to fight is unprecedented.
One of the foremost principles of our party is that citizens be allowed to vote and that those votes be counted. That principle is not currently being applied to the nearly 2.5 million people who voted in primaries in Florida and Michigan. Whoever emerges as the Democratic nominee will be hamstrung in the general election if a fair and quick resolution is not reached that ensures that the voices of these voters are heard. Our commitment now to this goal could be the difference between winning and losing in November.
I have consistently said that the votes cast in Florida and Michigan in January should be counted. We cannot ignore the fact that the people in those states took the time to be a part of this process and to make their preferences known. When efforts were untaken by leaders in those states to hold revotes to ensure that they had a voice in selecting our nominee, I supported those efforts. In Michigan, I supported a legislative effort to hold a revote that the Democratic National Committee said was in complete compliance with the party’s rules. You did not support those efforts and your supporters in Michigan publically opposed them. In Florida a number of revote options were proposed. I am not aware of any that you supported. In 2000, the Republicans won an election by successfully opposing a fair counting of votes in Florida. As Democrats, we must reject any proposals that would do the same.
Your commitment to the voters of these states must be clearly stated and your support for a fair and quick resolution must be clearly demonstrated.
I am asking you to join me in working with representatives from Florida and Michigan and the Democratic National Committee to arrive at a solution that honors the votes of the millions of people who went to the polls in Florida and Michigan. It is not enough to simply seat their representatives at the convention in Denver. The people of these great states, like the people who have voted and are to vote in other states, must have a voice in selecting our party’s nominee.

Bill Clinton appointed nine African Americans to cabinet posts. He also appointed Carl Stewart, the first African-American ever appointed to the Court of Appeals serving Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.
Bill appointed hispanics, Henry Cisneros, Federico Peña, Bill Richardson to caninet posts. Plus Castillo, the first Hispanic federal judge in Illinois, and Lisi and Currie the first women to serve on the federal trial benches in their states.
Maggie Williams, currently running Hillary’s campaign, served as chief of staff for Hillary Clinton when she was First Lady. Maggie Williams was the first African American woman to ever hold that position. Patti Solis Doyle was the first female Hispanic to manage a presidential campaign, she was recetly replaced by Maggie. Hillary hired Addisu Demissiem, a Yale graduate of Ethiopian descent, as her Political Director in Connecticut.
Hillary also hired African American Bob Nash as her deputy campaign manager. Nash had worked as the director of White House personnel for President Bill Clinton for six years. Also, Minyon Moore, former CEO of the DNC and White House advisor to Bill Clinton. Nash and Moore are two of about a dozen of African Americans in the Clinton inner circle.

Here’s a little quiz for you. When was the last time South Carolina went Democratic in a General Election? How about Mississippi? Why did Barky win Mississippi? The final straw for me was what they did to Geraline Ferraro …
They dug out her comments to a small town paper in CA and made a big race issue out of it one day before the Mississippi primary. He sure wasn’t concerned about giving her the benefit of doubt for a “clumsy” choice of words.

Will Obama ANSWER this letter? I doubt it — it is trying to run out the clock. He doesn’t want the revote. He’d rather piss off millions of voters than do the honorable thing and either accept the votes or accept a revote.
I still believe that Obama is not in this race to win in November, since he is really a Republican, he is in this race merely to keep Clinton from the White House.

It is incredibly arrogant of Obama to be declaring victory while the race is still on. The again, Obama has done a lot of arrogant and underhanded things in his attempts to become nominated. I’ve come to a point where I can no longer say that I’d be okay with voting for him if he is the Democratic nominee - I’ve been kicked too many times for merely being a Hillary supporter. This premature “victory dance” of Obama’s will only serve to alienate voters that he will desperately need in the general election. Obama should be reaching out to us, not giving himself a big pat on the back.

Rule 11.A. of the Delegate Selection Rules for the 2008 Democratic National Convention states the following:
11. TIMING OF THE DELEGATE SELECTION PROCESS
A. No meetings, caucuses, conventions or primaries which constitute the first determining stage in the presidential nomination process (the date of the primary in primary states, and the date of the first tier caucus in caucus states) may be held prior to the first Tuesday in February or after the second Tuesday in June in the calendar year of the national convention. Provided, however, that the Iowa precinct caucuses may be held no earlier than 22 days before the first Tuesday in February; that the Nevada first-tier caucuses may be held no earlier than 17 days before the first Tuesday in February; that the New Hampshire primary may be held no earlier than 14 days before the first Tuesday in February; and that the South Carolina primary may be held no earlier than 7 days before the first Tuesday in February. In no instance may a state which scheduled delegate selection procedures on or between the first Tuesday in February and the second Tuesday in June 1984 move out of compliance with the provisions of this rule.
We already know that Florida and Michigan violated Rule 11.A. by moving their primaries to a date before the first Tuesday in February. There is no argument there, but what about Iowa, New Hampshire, and yes, South Carolina too.
Rule 11.A specifically set the date for the primaries & caucuses for those three states as “no earlier than 22 days before the first Tuesday in February” (Iowa), “no earlier than 14 days before the first Tuesday in February” (New Hampshire), and “no earlier than 7 days before the first Tuesday in February” (South Carolina).
Iowa held their caucuses on January 3rd. That’s more than 22 days before the first Tuesday in February. New Hampshire held their primary on January 8th. That’s more than 17 days before the first Tuesday in February. And South Carolina held their primary on January 26th. That’s more than 7 days before the first Tuesday in February.
Under Rule 11.A., five states were in violation of the Democratic National Committee’s Delegate Selection Rules, and as such, all five states should have been punished under Rule 20.C.1.a.

On DK the other day I took a peek and they were saying that one of BO’s superdelegates was under attack from the Clinton campaign, not sure how, but they were fundraising for the SD! More like a payoff if you ask me, at that time, they had raised about 10,000.00…seems like this should be illegal campaign activity to me.
I think the dem party is are also looking at the amount of money that he has raised and think that that will carry over to the DNC fund raising and other dem races, he will get the money for them.

I am very glad that Hillary came out against the Michigan plan of awarding delegates today. And especially when Susan provided the evidence today that Obama surrogates did actually campaign for Obama in Michigan. It kind of takes the whole Obama wasn’t even on the ballot argument and rips it to shreds. But of course the Cult will continue their same mantra that Obama wasn’t even on the ballot so it can’t count. Just like the same Cultists will say that FLA and MI should be disenfranchised because they moved their primaries up against the rules. And they just totally ignore the fact that New Hampshire, Iowa and South Carolina broke the rules too. But of course if Donna Brazil and Howard Dean don’t care nothing matters in their eyes.
I fully expect that the Obama campaign will still play their silly disenfranchising games with Florida and Michigan. Nothing will change. But thank goodness that Hillary is doing the right thing standing up for the rights of voters in this country while the DNC acts like a fascist regime.

Is this the only sentence you have on Sen. Clinton’s dialog about the Michigan primary? What was the context of the WHOLE conversation? I have only heard that one little bit, and quite honestly haven’t heard anything else. Does anyone else have more than the one little snippet that has been run over and over and over? Just asking.
