All Hail West Virginia! [Update: Hillary’s New Ad]

These so-called “hicks” get it. Look at THIS key finding from today’s survey: “45% of likely Democratic primary voters say they would never vote for Barack Obama in the [general election].” QUOTE/UNQUOTE.

FORTY-FIVE PERCENT! I’m with you 45 percenters. With you all the way. And unless the Democratic party wakes up, I’ll be writing in Hillary Clinton’s name on my ballot come November. However, as a friend told me on the phone last night, that would waste the opportunity to make SURE that Barack Obama does not become president. Therefore … I may just … yes … do the unmentionable … Kevin and others, tear your hair, rent your garments … but there are millions of us who feel the exact same way!

West Virginia

Democrats May 7-8
Clinton 66%
Obama 23%
Someone else 5%
Undecided 6%

BELOW, HILLARY’S NEW TV AD FOR WEST VIRGINIA (which Barack is ignoring):

The next President of the United States is either Hillary Clinton or John McCain. Most of us here have known that for a long, long time.

If my party insists on intentionally nominating a man who A) Can’t win in November, B) Would be a horrible if not dangerous President if he somehow did, and C) used illegal, dirty tactics and a compliant media to get the nomination, it will lose more votes than just mine.

I don’t know what the long-term strategy of the DNC is. Was losing the plan all along? Was defeating the Clintons put above all else? What ever the reason for this madness, they’ve doomed the party for this year and maybe for many, many years to come.

I know that I will not support a party run by Howard Dean (my former Governor,) Donna Brazile, and David Axelrod.

Was defeating the Clintons put above all else?

I am beginning to think this was it. This was the Dean Party’s only objective and if they achieved this, in their twisted warped minds they won. They never thought beyond that goal. Anybody but Hillary. And now they are doomed to lose yet again because their vehicle to destroy the Clinton’s will now destroy Dean’s Party. Karma.

Truer words were never spoken bert!

As for West Virginia, I wouldn’t be surprised if the same stats were in evidence even if Hillary were to withdraw.

They need her to stay in the race so the narrative doesn’t go there.

It appears the “new coalition” has some work to do, don’t ya think??

Comment by Seymour Glass | 2008-05-09 12:52:33

I had a couple of moments from the start in jan 07 - when I worried that the Obama campaign would do exactly as theyve done, use the media scripts and vrwc myths to attack and destroy the Clintons.

But I NEVER even considered that they would race and resentment as the ticket to take over our Party.

This really started when they took the complimentary words from Bob Kerrey and then led the media into a week long slash and burn of this mans name and good character to portray his kind words towards Obama as part of some great Clintonite conspiracy to make voters aware that Obamja was…..black.

The whole idea behind charging someone with using “racism” is to utterly make that person a social pariah. How many times now have the Obamacrats done this to good Dems?

Just understand this….if they had NOT have done this - Hillary would have been our nominee by now. The entire reason he is leading and presumptive is exactly because they lied and charged Kerrey, Cuomo and the Clintons with being racists and using race dividing lingo.

The irony of this is beyond measure. So is the hypocricy.

Believe me, this proud yellow dog Democrat, who will be working on this campaign in one form or another (it is my livelihood) …will NEVER pull the lever for these people…

Thats just not gonna happen.

And hell if mccain’s campaign had the smarts to choose a non Repub (Non political?)as their VP - and
change their view on tax cuts for the rich - Id vote even vote for him. (I worked with him on the anti tobacco bill - I really do like him…and his pow experience can send me to weeping red, white and blue tears…)

Comment by SD | 2008-05-09 15:30:01

I will be voting for Hillary, or John Mccain! A write-in amounts to a vote for OB. John Mccain is not george bush! I will enjoy voting for him and I certainly will enjoy watching him finally force OB to answer the questions the media protected him from having to answer.

The democratic party has made their bed, and climbed into it with a liar and a dirty dealer. Let them lie there.

John,

As a neighbor of yours from NH - I simply cannot believe what Dean has done. He has totally foresaken the values we in Northern NE hold.

When Sununu did that, and then tried to come back to NH, we made sure he knew he was not welcome in our state any longer. How does VT feel about the betrayal by Howard?

Comment by blobert | 2008-05-09 11:34:43

I am convinced Republican interests worked to get Obama out before he was Washington seasoned, so he would be killed off early. A guy with little record but “present”, a lot of unsavory pals from the hood, catastrophic blunders in PA and IN, weak debater etc. etc. will not have a prayer in the GE. Hope and Change can’t substitute for inexperience.

Comment by Dawnelle | 2008-05-09 11:38:04

The only thing I dislike now about posting stats like that is

after the vote Tuesday

if she doesn’t in fact win by that margin????????? we have opened ourselves up to yet another reason (for them to say) to drop out!

just sayin

I see how they are spinning things!

Comment by Jeff | 2008-05-09 12:25:05

a good point

Comment by Wendy! | 2008-05-09 17:35:11

She’ll win by min 25%-30% I wouldn’t worry about that. She win by that much and they’ll still be calling for her to drop out - we have to accept it and hold on tight.

Comment by blobert | 2008-05-09 11:46:05

You need to read what she said. We will be voting for Clinton in November whether she is on the ballot or not.
is that clear?

Comment by Lou | 2008-05-10 03:49:09

Clear. No other speculations needed. Keep you eye on the prize. This crap has been going on since the game started. Same Sh*t, different day.

Comment by Ros in Wa | 2008-05-09 11:46:51

I am 70 years old and have every right to fear losing the woman’s right to choose. I knew only too well what womens 2 choices were in those days before Roe…illegal unsafe abortions or adoption. I was one who relinquished and would wish the long years of ’silent never knowing’ anguish , on no other woman. My fears of Roe being overturned pale in comparison to my fears for this country if Obama is to be the next president.

Comment by blobert | 2008-05-09 11:55:05

Obama has a poor record on women’s rights, which is why NOW is fighting for Hillary Clinton.

Comment by jwrjr | 2008-05-09 12:18:34

Obama has a poor record on everything … or no record at all.

Comment by stodghie | 2008-05-09 15:11:37

she has a better record that barry. he is only present don’t you know.

Comment by Lou | 2008-05-10 03:51:19

And she is not a threat to our national security.

Comment by Jeff | 2008-05-09 12:26:54

“My fears of Roe being overturned pale in comparison to my fears for this country if Obama is to be the next president.”

You lose the right to choose, you deserve it if you vote for McCain.

Comment by Ros in Wa | 2008-05-09 12:34:15

I have no personal reason to worry about losing the right to choose. In case you hadn’t noticed I am way past the age to worry about such things…

Let all these stupid young obamabots worry about it…and perhaps those of you so anxious to climb on this guys bandwagon will enjoy explaining to your daughters in future years why they no longer have the right to choose.

Comment by Jeff | 2008-05-09 12:41:48

“I have no personal reason to worry about losing the right to choose.”

Except that you wrote this.

“I am 70 years old and have every right to fear losing the woman’s right to choose.”

Why don’t you make up your mind, and then explain to the young women of America why you participated in the stripping away of their reproductive rights all because of your irrational fear of a skinny black Democrat named Barack.

Comment by Ros in Wa | 2008-05-09 13:05:45

Because, I was around pre Roe, and know and lived the results of what it was before women obtained reproductive rights….

Obama had Casey joined at the hip in Pa which tells me he could give a damn less about womens’ rights.

I vote you youngsters live with the results of voting this jerk into office….the same nutz who will overturn Roe may well work to overturn Griswold.

What you young punk Obamabots fail to realise is that with maturity comes wisdom. though wisdom is a word that is not in the obamabot lexicon.

Comment by Dave | 2008-05-09 13:09:22

Let’s be real here Jeff. McCain doesn’t care about abortion (The Neocons hate him for voting against a constitutional amendment to ban it). So do you really think he will end abortion in one term, with a Democrat led congress, when Bush couldn’t do it in two terms.

Comment by Ros in Wa | 2008-05-09 13:14:48

Dave that is the thought I had, as the Rev Wright would say McCain says what he needs to for political purposes. That has helped me to accept my own decision to vote McCain if Obama is the nominee.

Comment by Jeff | 2008-05-09 13:16:39

“So do you really think he will end abortion in one term, with a Democrat led congress, when Bush couldn’t do it in two terms.”

He’ll do it with ease. John Paul Stevens, senior member of the remaining liberal bloc on the USSC, is 88 years old. He will likely pass away or retire in the next term. McCain has already praised Roberts and Alito up and down. He will appoint an ideological clone. The pro-Roe block will whittle from 5-4 to 4-5. Choice will be toast.

Comment by requiemforadancer | 2008-05-09 13:23:29

No more than a flat tire.

The problem is, when you don’t have the intellectual capacity to understand the poem, you never really know what the goal of your enemy is, do ya?

Hillary Clinton is HANDS DOWN the best this country can do, and people have to learn to see through the lobbyists and consultants, for the long term.

MCCain, what do the republican trolls think, given how their organization has collapsed internally, due to their internal methods?

They don’t get it, they don’t know why.

And here those idiots in the democratic party want to nominate a mindless traitor.

If they kill the democratic party, it’s their own fault.

Same with the republican trolls boys, if they kill their own party, it’s their own fault…

I mean, all this, and the dunuts can’t win the wars they started, or manage the economy.

Right?

Yet the stinking moron Dean, lil rove, wants me to vote for Obama, a traitor?

That’s illogical.

What in hell makes you think Obama is for women’s rights? Prove your words… put up or shut up. You know so little about your candidate it’s frightening. What will you do when an Obama presidency bashes your precious progressive dreams against those of his corporate owners? He’s just a politician… and a particularly dirty one. He’s not the second coming of your wet dreams. You’re just a stupid puppy. Go home, puppy.

Comment by Eurogirl70 | 2008-05-09 13:30:41

Having a “right” to worry Jeff is not the same thing as worrying.

You must first exercise your “right” to worry to in fact worry. Should you not exercise your “right” then you are not worrying but merely philosophizing.

Someone needs to take philosophy 101 again.

Ros in Wa, well said. At age 62 I feel as you do. And after being called racist, moron, stupid, whore, bitch, and more by Obama supporters during this campaign, I don’t really care if THEY lose the right to choose. I don’t have to worry about it an longer. I am conflicted about this feeling. It is selfish, undignified and beneath my personal sense of respect for others. But sadly it seems to have come to this. How can one man do so much damage and divide this party that had every chance to win in a landslide this fall and move America towards a progressive agenda for decades come to this? Obama is the most divisive candidate ever.

Comment by Lou | 2008-05-10 03:55:56

It started with “rock the vote” (skew the vote)

Comment by maggie | 2008-05-09 14:15:09

I also remember before Roe. But if it hasn’t been overturned up to now when there have been majority Repug congresses, I don’t see it happening now when the Dems will certainly have a pretty big majority in the Congress. So, I will either not vote at all this time or, if Ombat gets even scarier, I will vote McCain. Besides, I’m tired of feeling “blackmailed” into feeling a loyalty to a party that has no loyalty me.

Comment by IndyRobin | 2008-05-09 17:20:23

VERY GOOD POINT. I will NOT be manipulated into the Roe issue to give my vote to man who has the LEAST experience in histroy for the most dangerouse and important job in the world.

Last week I heard a 30 somthing female Obamabot
say ” My mother march for choice and now we have CHOICE” … Hillary hasn’t ever done a damn thing for woman my age.

So tell ya what ladies. let them take away RvW

Fuck them. DONE … Hillary OR McCain

If you want to fight that fight, get all those under 40 year-old women supporting Obama to pick the right candidate and the winnable candidate, not some unprepared hack and fraud of a candidate.

The flaw in this particular scare tactic is that we women realize that, with Obama’s hatred of women, he won’t be any better than McCain on this issue. So, this one ain’t working — try again.

I don’t give a rats ass what happens to the SCOTUS now. Not MY problem anymore and I am TIRED of caring about it. Enjoy your McCain president, fools.

Comment by Eurogirl70 | 2008-05-09 13:36:31

I could not agree more. I hope that all these little puffed-up self-important little frat boys and sorority girls get a real good taste of long term economic recession. Too many of these kids have been pampered and told they were special from the moment they stopped pissing into a diaper. They think they have an education, one which they earned in between getting drunk and waking up next to a stranger.

I can’t wait until they are up to their eyeballs in debt, with no forseeable job prospects and are living with mommy and daddy. Any girl who has been going along with this Obama-mania needs a good swift kick in the ass and a slap across the face. They laughed when their male counterparts made nothing but one disparaging comment after another about Hillary. Karma is a bitch girls. Live by the bitch….die by the bitch!!

Comment by Percy | 2008-05-09 12:32:07

Oh my Star Liberal… are you off the mark! Are the women’s votes in MI and FL being counted today?

The Democratic Leadership and elitist have run this party into the ground.

I will join the Republicans. At least they can run a fair primary….everyone competed and got along! They counted all the votes. When Huckabee was still in the Race, McCain was gracious.

Unlike Obama.

I am a woman .. a typical white woman and I will take great pleasure in exercising my vote in November for Hillary or McCain.

At least with McCain, I know what we are getting and we don’t have to doubt his loyalty to THIS country. His approach may be something I don’t agree with, yet I do believe he has the best interest of the People and this country at heart.

So does Hillary.

Anybody but Obama…..

And the Democratic Party better wake up …. and get rid of posers like Brazille, Dean, Pelosi.

Comment by Seymour Glass | 2008-05-09 13:02:41

lets be honest.

i used to work for Planned Parenthood in DC . (Only straight man there)

Worse case is - abortion rights are made a state issue and the states that already dont have any doctors that will provide them now - may restrict or even ban them. The states that already provide full family planning services -wont have any changes whatsoever,

America has divided and decided on this already.

But I expect it would be argument #1 from the misogynists that worked to destroy Hillary.

Never underestimate the hypocrisy of a faux leftist!…

Comment by John | 2008-05-09 13:17:54

Oh really, shut the fuck up. I’m sorry to be overly rude, but I am so sick to death of the “Republicans will pack the court with anti-choice extremists!” argument. In case you haven’t noticed, seven of the current nine justices were appointed by REPUBLICANS. Last time I checked, abortion rights weren’t being threatened.

Republicans call themselves “Pro-Life” where it is politically advantageous to do so. Once elected, they do NOTHING that could be construed as “Anti-Choice.” They bloviate and chest-thump and rake in the donor money, and then drop the issue on odd-numbered years.

If Obama thinks he’s going to get pro-choice women to forget the constant insults and vote for him out of fear that McCain will take away their right to control their own bodies, he’s as dumb as his witless followers are. That dog just won’t hunt anymore.

Now, Susan….even calling us West Virginians so-called hicks” only serves to perpetuate a terrible image that doesn’t project the truth about who and what West Virginia(ians) are today. I say this in the context of what a high favorable vote for HRC really means. Although there are pockets of the state that remain extremely rural, much of the state is peppered with artists, and educators and retirees, the hip and cool, and the educated who have chosen to live in “almost heaven.”

Also extreme western Maryland has some of the most beautiful areas. Deep Creek being one.

I love this country! I wish we could all appreciate each other a bit more and not stick to stereo types. I was born in Indiana, brought up in sw fla, but have lived in about 20 places including a few over seas and the PLANET is Phenomenal!

He doesn’t take adversity very well, which is another quality that makes him totally unsuitable for President. FUCK YOU. I have NEVER seen a racist comment on this site. Just because people here don’t worship your candidate, that does not make them racists! Show me ONE RACIST POST from this site. PUT UP or STFU!

Comment by Dave | 2008-05-09 12:56:49

Bet they’re shaking in their boots. LOL. Grow up and stop the unfounded name calling. Is the 99 part of your name your birth year? You certainly sound like it!

Nahhh Robert, I’ll do what I want. You are definitely on the unwelcome list too. You can take the guy out of Utah, but you can’t take the racist out of the guy.

And yea, Homosexuals can be racists too. The only things worse than a racist Homo are a racist Jew/Latino and an anti-semitic Black.

Comment by Percy | 2008-05-09 12:34:42

Steviey99… Obama camp would be proud of you. Are you studying directly with Ayers?

Comment by chatsauvage | 2008-05-09 16:33:37

And heterosexuals who use the word homo have no place in the Democratic Party. Now go campaign with Obama and Donnie McClurkin in South Carolina.

Oh, how ever will Larry and Susan be able to sleep, having been banished from little Stevie’s Obama/fantasyland. How will they go on? Oh, the humanity!

Those new polls sure are making you Obamabots cranky.

Comment by it'snotme | 2008-05-09 12:24:23

You mean this “typical white person” won’t be accepted back into the party? Bwahahahahahaha! Sorry. Your guy played the race card, not Hillary or Bill, so take a hike.

Just because people don’t vote for the fraud guy doesn’t make them racists and I am sick as hell of being called one by Obamarhoids. I wouldn’t vote for that man now if my life depended on it. Enjoy your president McCain because Mr. Fraud ISN’T going to win in November….you gullible Dumb ass.

“Larry and Susan will never be welcomed back into the Progressive community or the Democratic party. You couple or few dozen racists and lunatics are unwanted.

Have fun in your racist pigsty.”

You appear to believe that you are the Oracle and Decision Maker on all things Democratic and which candidate people should support and vote for. More like the Delusional One. Or the Pig in the Poke since you like pig anaolgies.

Also, anyone who votes for a candidate because he is black, and who aligns themself with a black racist voting block of over 90% is the one who is the racist on this blog.

Obama is not campaigning there. He doesn’t need them anymore so screw you west virginia. See you in the General Election where you are just all going to practically spawn for me and vote for me. You won’t remember at all!

Obama is going to say the only reason he got beaten to death there is because he didn’t campaign. It’s the same reason he blocked Florida and Michigan revotes. He forgets that people vote in November. I love it. For some odd reason, this man thinks a nomination is a presidency.

Comment by Percy | 2008-05-09 12:39:22

Obama and the DNC are confusing a nomination with a Presidency. They THINK that Hillary supporters are just saying they won’t support Obama because are feeling are hurt and we will bounce back. SMug Obama said a long time ago… all of Hillary Supporters would support him.

Not this one.

Obama lost my vote based on his own merit and he would have to work real hard to win it back… and my vote is not worth it to him.

Well… my vote if attached to millions of others who feel the same way will make a difference.

And I strongly urge that everyone vote … don’t stay home … and the vote is simple….

Hillary or McCain for President.

If Hillary is not on the ballot… then it has to be a vote for McCain, unless you want Obama in the White House.

We still have a chance to send a message … that we will not allow a hijacked election!

MAYBE we right leadership the Dems can try again in 2012.

Obama’s Money Cartel: How Barack Obama Fronted for the Most Vicious Predators on Wall Street

Wednesday, 07 May 2008

by Pam Martens

The candidate that claims to be the only presidential contender who doesn’t take money from lobbyists is in fact the biggest recipient of lobby-related contributions. Barack Obama rakes in millions from law firms serving the interests of Wall Street, including the financial institutions that gave us the subprime lending crisis. Lawyers that work for firms that earn hundreds of millions of dollars for lobbying may technically not be lobbyists, but they share in their colleagues’ earnings as influencers of Congress - a legal loophole that allows Obama to claim his hands are clean of lobby loot. “The top contributors to the Obama campaign are the very Wall Street firms whose shady mortgage lenders buried the elderly and the poor and minority under predatory loans.”

REMEMBER FIRST WE ARE ALL AMERICANS. A TRUE AMERICAN WOULD NEVER VOTE FOR OBAMA. EVEN THOUGH I AM A LIFE LONG DEMOCRAT, I CAN NEVER VOTE FOR OBAMA. HIS ASSOCIATIONS AND THE WAY HE HAS RAN HIS CAMPAIGN, THE DNC PARTY ELITE, THE MASS MEDIA, ALL GANGING UP ON HILLARY CLINTON, HAS MADE ME SICK TO MY STOMACH. THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY HAS GONE TO HELL. AS SOON AS I KNOW FOR SURE THAT HILLARY IS NOT GOING TO BE THE NOMINEE, I WILL VOTE REPUBLICAN. I WILL LEAVE THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY. WHERE I AM GIVEN THE CHANCE TO VOTE FOR OTHER ELECTED OFFICIALS RUNNING UNDER THE DEMOCRATIC MONIKER, I WILL MAKE SURE THAT I VOTE AGAINST THEM (ANYONE THAT IS, THAT SUPPORTED OBAMA). THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY IS NOT A PARTY TO BE PROUD OF ANY LONGER. THE RACE IN INDIANA AND OTHER STATES SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED FOR VOTER FRAUD, BALLOT FRAUD, ETC. OBAMA IS NOT JUST INEXPERIENCED, HE AN EVIL PERSON WHO HAS NO BUSINESS BEING A U.S. SENATOR, LET ALONE THE PRESIDENT OF OUR GREAT NATION. WE MUST TAKE ALL STEPS NEEDED TO ASSURE HE NEVER REACHES THAT OFFICE.

West Virginians, give Hillary a landslide nomination to show Barry your votes are important, and giving due respect to Florida and Michigan. Campaigning in W. Virginia is a waste of time for him because he knew there is no future there, which is the same thing he did in Michigan and Florida. If there is no big black community in a specific state he wont go there. He keep losing with the debate so what do you expect? No debate. If democratic party will not nominate her, I’ll go the other way.

I am looking forward to the butt stomping Obama is going to get in West Virginia. Then Kentucky is going to kick his ass.

Comment by bwana | 2008-05-09 12:23:51

and then we go to oregon, montana, south dakota, and puerto rico.

and then, mercifully, it’s officially over.
