Recreate68’s BodyHammer: Tactics & Self-Defense Manual

recreate-screenshot.jpg

fist_3.jpgAs many of us have already noticed, the link to Recreate68 , adorned with the Power Fist icon, has been popping up more and more frequently in places on the internets. It suggests a plan to take a trip down memory lane to the most unsettled era of the last century. Recreate68 intends to descend upon the Democratic Convention in Denver, and God knows where else once the excitement gets into their blood.

The late sixties and early seventies was not a romantic time folks. I somehow envision Bill Ayers being a super-duper advisor to this newly formed bombastic battalion of angsty kids with iPods, whose parents busted their butts to pay for their college education, only to find them moving back home so that they might appear “upscale” via supplemenation from their parents’ rapidly shrinking retirement funds.

I find it more than a little amusing that I have listened to Obama supporters tell us ad nauseum that they don’t want to go back to the 90s and the Clinton Years (a time my financial portfolio sorely misses, I might add), but they have no problem bragging on wanting to go back to the 60s and early 70s. Somebody needs to explain this to me.

It was recently when a poster showed up at No Quarter and wrote “REMEMBER KENT STATE”. This caught my eye because, yes, I DO remember. Innocent young people died, not the angsty rebels who attracted the National Guard to begin with. It was not romantic nor was it very cool. Nor did 2008 seem like a very timely year to address it….again. I know this because, unlike so many of today’s Obama supporters, I didn’t just read a book about that era, I was there. I was one of those spoiled brats on campus at the time. So you will excuse me if I find it odd that a board poster would think that the year 2008 was very timely in bringing it up, unless of course you were looking to bring back the “old days” of violence.

The poster went on to tell us how he had an SDS Safe House back in those days and how three of his friends died. He almost sounded as if he was wearing a badge over it and just plain wasn’t finished. Like Bill Ayers, he felt he hadn’t “done enough”. I envisioned him, something we all can’t help but do when we are interacting on an anonymous forum: Once a hippie, now older and balder, and what is left of the hair on the back of his head is hanging down long and stringy. I imagined that his life had been dull, tumultuous and without much joy, mostly because he had spent most of it living in 1970. Excitement for him meant moving backward not forward. What concerned me most was that his content seemed so much in keeping with some of the behaviors I have seen in this election season. A red flag, so to speak. Recreate68 seemed right up this guy’s alley. He would be one of the aged hippies who would show up and turn peaceful demonstrations into dangerous disasters.

Recreate68 presumably plans to do what was done at the Democratic Convention in 1968, which was in Chicago of course. There was all kinds of excitement. The disruptions were discussed around dinner tables all over America. I mean Dan Rather, looking about 12 years old at the time, even got punched in the stomach. You see, the behavior of the demonstrators was getting out of hand and all kinds of security descended upon them and everybody else.

1968 was already a particularly painful and tumultuous year, bringing us the assassinations of Martin Luther King and Robert F. Kennedy. The last thing America wanted to watch was a bunch of spoiled brats demonstrating at a convention, even in the face of a useless war that practically nobody in his right mind wanted to continue. In short, the youth of America that year frightened Americans more than the war did.

I’m not too sure the young angsty left-of-the-left-cliff Democrats were very successful in 1968, unless you call giving us Richard Nixon as President a success. You would think one would learn from history. Nope. They behaved badly again during the 1972 election year again, only they– myself included–were even more arrogant. loud, pushy, elitist and nasty, thus forcing humiliated Democrats all over the country to watch George McGovern and the Democrats get their asses handed to them on a plate - by Richard Nixon…. again.

In ‘68 and ‘72 they were called “Eggheads”. Today we call them Latte Drinkers, Obamabots, and the currently well-documented “Elitists”. They are the same people basically, just older, stuck in a time warp, recruiting younger people to do what their own old backs won’t tolerate any longer, and trying really hard to screw up the Democratic Party again by scaring the crap out of the entire electorate. I am more than reasonably certain that the McCain campaign will totally adore all of this, because they understand history and know that the “silent majority,” who will be horrified by all the disdain heaped upon them in 2008 by what they perceive to be elitist snobs and wayward childeren, will vote for McCain in November.

While their main web page suggests peaceful demonstrations on every subject save for the price of rice in China, Recreate68 seems to be gearing up for a bit more than that for some odd reason. They apparently are considering the potential of someone getting hurt. Gee, ya think? In preparation for their own protection, they now have a “Shieldbook”: BodyHammer: Tactics and Self Defense For the Modern Protestor, Version 1.1.

I would imagine there will be other versions of this manual once they figure out that, should they decide that Bernardine Dohrn was right about non-violent protest being useless, the National Guard tends to pay a visit when rowdy crowds make everyone feel a bit threatened. Somebody is feeding these young people all the tripe of excitement and forgetting to remind them that people die sometimes when things get out of hand–and things can get out of hand. If I were a parent of one of these people, I would be very very worried. You see, I Remember.

I thought you might be interested in seeing some of the examples set forth in the BodyHammer manual. Imagine how excited they all feel about creating their own body armour and how cool they think they will all look if they get too rowdy and some cop clubs them over the head or busts up their iPod or cell phone or something.

Their parents will be so proud. I know Bill Ayers is.

Take a look at these photos from the Manual and then let me know if you still want to enter the DNC’s Raffle for free tickets to the Denver Convention. I mean, where else can you get all this excitement for $25?

“I will force my body to be my weapon and my statement so…”

‘The Stranglers”-Death & Night & Blood
“Quick to construct, easy to transport…” ” Using inflatable shields gives the disarming appearance that the police are busting up a beach party”.

(Uppity Note: Somebody needs to explain to these impressionable captives that the 1960s was no beach party. And thanks to Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, the early 70s were even less of a day at the beach).

“Some protestors that have seen this shield employed maintain that it has a disarming affect on police psychology.

The police officers who are unable to see the individual in front of them seem to lose their sense of personal rage against individuals.”

“For personal protection a solid helmet is probably the most important thing one can bring to a demonstration after a gas attack.”

“The ultimate option although quite conspicuous in transporting (ya think?) are military helmets. Modern helmets are made from Kevlar and meant to stop a bullet. These are extremely costly and not necessary.”

“Metal inter-locking barriers are the typical means of blockading marches by the police.”

“When a shield wall approaches a barrier, it must be opened or knocked down prior to penetration by the wall.”…. “If Police resist the movement of a barrier persons in the shield wall should try to advance so that their shields extend over the barriers[sic] protecting hands that are pulling it down and knocking away those of the police.”

Ooops! How did this get in here?

Great handle there nic danger,

If you can recall the the WTO convention in Seattle this is a very dangerous endevour.

The use of the word “weapon” the front page should alert the FBI and the JTTF. Especially if one speaks of using there body in Jihad mode.

Obama bears complete responsibility for this.

Well first of all, Happy Mother’s Day, in special to our Sen Rodham and her mother!

Sorry Michell Obama you do not recognize the great qualities our Sen Rodham possesses, but guess what, we know that you do, that’s why you fear her being close to your husband!

It is said that talking without action is like doing nothing in demanding justice and fairness! In short, can we help our Sen Rodham, with a huge ‘march’ to protest and show how disappointed we feel to see that in this election, again, we will be witnesses of the best qualified candidate to hold the position to lead our nation being robbed of it, due to the kind of Chicago gangster’s style way of doing business that has invaded our politics?

If we really want our voices to be heard we will have to do our part and come from all the states to repudiate “the hidden agenda that it is being played” against millions of voters who want every vote counted, who want to know why the media has become an accomplice doing its part by continuously distorting the image and accomplishments of Sen Rodham in this tough election she has handled with “bravura” in taking the bull by the horns not allowing nothing to intimidate her!

We want to know why the government and the media knowing all the negative and dangerous background and present behaviour from Sen Obama, they do not proceed as they should by informing the nation, why after having the knowgledge with real facts, that this senator has strong associations with bigots, racists, terrorists, that for a presidential candidate, yes it is important to know why he keep and kept contact with this people (a liability for him) if he knew and knows…he is running as a presidential candidate, which mean a President dealing with sensitive information crucial to our nation’s security can get in the hands of our enemies?

Shouldn’t all this background check information results put the Home Security colors code in red, if it was an ordinary person having such suspicious associations with that type of people and not too positive background?

How come they give support to this ‘man of interest’ to be even in the senate? What is going on here? What is the plot against the Clintons and those who believe that Sen Rodham is the best qualify, so far we haven’t heard anything that indicates she is a hater of the United States…so far!

Sen Rodham, right now is alone in her campaign visiting the rest of the states and later Puerto Rico to give voters their chance to vote for the person they think should be the president nominee to represent the Democratic Party, but we need to do our part too, we cannot wait until it is too late, and Sen Obama thinking he is in Africa, declares himself the President of the African States in May 19th. (Remember he is in such campaign fatigue, he thinks already he is running for President in Kenya, Africa.) Yes what I see here, is that some of those millions that are following Sen Obama is to declare “Black Power” in 2009! nothing having to do with “oneness” new Utopia Amero. That’s why his wife sees this time is her chance to declare ‘black superiority’ according to her views and ignorance for a woman that is high “educated”.

If we organize a march to protest, this will get the attention not only of our media but from around the world and I am sure this is not what the government wants, for other countries to see how resistant is this nation compared to other countries in allowing a woman to be the president if she is qualified and has earned in good faith the nomination at the end!

Come on, the core of the Democratic Party is damaged already and not because of Sen Rodham exercising her right to fight till the end of her campaign and to succeed in her tenacity. Let’s have this very clear in in our minds, if she wins, we win by having a President that will lead us with tough power, she will demand from us to work hard with her to put on the right track this nation again.

It is not going to be easy. She will have to face the opposition in the congress, the supreme court, and on and on to pass all those projects she has in mind to improve our lives, but there is where her expertise will play very well the opposition, this time is Sen Rodham’s way, this is not former President Clinton, this is for once and for all, her brain working, a brain that with the pass of time has been automatically upgraded having better wisdom and audacity, powerfull tools that will serve her and us very well!

Please this coming week we have to really demonstrate we trust in her capacity to be our next Commander in Chief, let’s be more vocal, the uproar must be huge, to show “future King Obama” we won’t step back we are ready to battle!

And God Sen Rodham, looks better as a mature woman, love watching those blue eyes and lovely face when addressing the press, won’t deny it, I can’t stand Sen Obama’s face and fatigue, and stuttering and thinking he can outsmart with his ‘copy and paste’ rethoric. The brilliant mind that is already tired, wanting ‘more gasoline’? ”Obama quiere más gasolina, dale mas gasolina”

That’s why he stutters because in reality he has been always out of words, speechless if the guy who writes for him the speeches is not constantly writing him in cards what to say, how to respond?…or it is because he feels uncomfortable in front of the cameras and people, that he knows are reading his behavior and character as a ‘phony’! Aren’t brilliant speechers and politicians, supposed to be alert and ready to answer?…when is almost always the same questions being asked, maybe with a variation but the same. That’s a thing I like from Sen Rodham her readiness and assertiveness , she is most of the time ready, and jump on the question, like saying, next ’shoot me’!

Please don’t go Hillary, fight be strong, we are ready there! “Nobody said it was easy”!!!

WHAT ABOUT SINGING TO KING OBAMA,
CARL ORFF, CARMINA BURNA

Below some lyrics of the Overall Structure…

“However much they cheerfully celebrate
we are the ones whom everyone scolds,
and thus we are destitute.
May those who slander us be cursed
and may their names not be written in the

like so much about the Obama cult - all talk, no action…

Obama cult - all talk, no action

You’re probably right about that. They’re brave enough when bullying physically weaker and more civilized opponents at caucuses, but when faced with prepared opposition, they’ll probably fall back, pout, and then man the keyboards to say mean things to all us Hillary supporters online. That’ll show us.

Oprah must be so proud.

Hey they are being fed all that cool stuff about the late 60s and the early 70s. All the uncool stuff is left out. Those of us who Know what I am saying can relate. I think plenty will show up. It’s “Fun”! Hoot and yell and stuff, Demonstrate about everything including the price of rice in China. Show everybody who’s “The Boss”. I am hoping it’s HUGE. That way everybody can see them on TV. It worked last time, if you know what I mean. It scares the shit out of the electorate and they all run out and vote against the rebels. As you know, they are outnumbered in the end. The loud freaks out the middle and next thing you know, a candidate gets his butt defeated. It’s a good deal!

Comment by Mel | 2008-05-11 13:06:05

Difference between 1968 and today, to sort of justify the rebellion at the time, was the DRAFT!

Today, the threats are using politics of old which Obama uses when deemed needed to suit his selfish causes, but reality is those promoting Obama and riots sit behind computer screens talking all tough and when reality comes to be, the majority of them will become as Obama and whimp out!

No one has anything on the line as there is during a period of time having a DRAFT which has dire consequences on peoples lives! Who in their right mind is going to physically go to battle over a dirty politician who brings nothing to the table except empty words, race baiting and lies! All the children will be home playing with their X-Boxes and the few dumb ones will run at the first sign of physical harm to protect their cups ot Starbucks coffee!

But Obama camp is using the fear game to attempt to insure his nomination, as with the 350 people who showed up to hear Obama’s famous anti war speech in front of has been SDS’er Carl Davidson, it will be a late gathering with moans and groans after whichever candidate is chosen!

Comment by Patrick Walker | 2008-05-11 14:17:15

I have to agree that the lack of a draft this time makes a huge difference. Because of the lack of it this time, I believe the numbers in Denver will NEVER approach those of Chicago ‘68.

I am amazed at these groups failure to learn from history. The extremism of 1968 was a miserable failure. The protesters did not effectively shorten the Vietnam War which continued another SEVEN years! It did not even mark the midpoint.

All they did was empower the Republican party which had controlled the White House only 12 of the 40 years prior to 1968 but have controlled it 28 of the 40 years since. I would not be shocked to find Rove operatives encouraging these naifs in this self-destructive path.

Oh please, in reality these people aren’t prepared to drop their lattes & change the channel, let alone change the world. At the end of the day who would they be protesting for, someone who has taken millions of dollars from sub-prime mortgage lenders yet casts himself as Batman? This beyond stupid now.

This whole social re-engineering scheme is disastrously stupid, self-involved & ridiculous. Yes, yes, all of us are painfully aware that the goverment especially this last “administration” has screwed everything up six ways to Sunday but in reality, this whole blame the government rabble rousing thing is just getting tiring. At the end of the day the gov’t doesn’t cause or solve most of our problems, for heaven’s sake. In some limited ways, it can be a good partner. In other ways, obviously, it can be brought to heel so that it steps inventing problems for us.

Change into what? Hope for what? Focus on health care- focus on policy. This is like dealing with toddlers hopped up on high fructose corn syrup. Do they really think they are going to be participating in some new way? What policy promises have they extracted from the corporate Democratic party’s new standard bearer? Huh? Anything?

Can the adults take over now, please?

I remember also and it wasnt’ pretty. Students were killed at Kent State and beat up at the convention. We need to fight this. The only thing we can do so that people won’t get hurt is let them nominate Obama and defeat him in the election by voting for McCain.

Of course elections have been rigged since JFK’s so I don’t know if that will work.

Boy it is getting scary out there. The funny part is that the TV commentators think it is because of race that we don’t support Obama, and it is really because Obama is a lousy candidate and his wife is worse. Why would anyone want them in the White House representing the United States of America? Is this the best we can do? I am so sick of Dodd and Kerry telling me that Obama is the greatest, smartest candidate in the world. If he was so smart, why was he hanging around with all those losers, terrorists and criminals in Illinois. That doesn’t sound smart to me.

He was in the U.S. Senate for one year before he started running for President. How do you get to know someone in a year. How can you distinguish yourself in that short time? He hasn’t done one thing to stand out or even be remembered.

What the hell is going on?

Comment by Uppity | 2008-05-11 13:44:23

I know Kent State as well. It wasn’t pretty. But when you romanticize a time without knowing squat about what it really was, it’s attractive. That’s what they are counting on. This is a taste of what we can expect from the Obama camp and it’s a sure way to turn off the electorate. It shows them his base and his base will frighten the bejesus out of them. Just like all the other times the radical left tried to hijack the party. I figure some old hippies who are still on the bong and ran SDS safe houses are involved for “flavor”.

I checked out their website- “Do It In Denver!” Um, do WHAT in Denver? Fight Imperialism and the Two Party System which is “selling us out?” Why in Denver? Why aren’t they doing this in Minneapolis?

If Obama is the clear nominee, is Recreate68 going to back down? And if so, what are they backing down from?

This looks so lame and contrived. Does anyone really believe the I-Pod and I-Phone addicted youth is going to actually march against Corporatism? Shit, they are walking BILLBOARDS for corporatism! I notice that the website doesn’t suggest a rejection of MATERIALISM- I guess the organizers of Recreate68 do know their audience, at least a little, and their limitations.

Comment by Blu | 2008-05-11 14:03:45

“If Obama is the clear nominee, is Recreate68 going to back down?”

From the web site it sounds like they are going to protest no matter what happens.
“The State of the Black Nation
and the Barack Obama Campaign
What is it all about?
How does our struggle relate to the worldwide struggle against oppression and exploitation?
Where does Barack Obama fit?
And why our movement is in the streets no matter what happens!”

I’m also convinced that “Recreate 68″ is all talk, no action. I’m more concerned with less organized groups and individual trouble makers.

Exactly. AA’s are 15% of the population. 55% (of 65%) women voters are left in their rage as well as the blue collar and Mexicans who need a voice and a true leader. That’s alot of people. Much more people than the supposed “recreate68″ revolters (which is more empty words) are the Hillary supporters and it’s time for us to revolt. I for one will drop everything and march in protest of Obawalla trying to STEAL this election.

Example: NH 300,000 votes cast
20 Deegates awarded (HRC)
Idaho- 20,000 votes cast
18 Delegates awarded. (BHO)
Something is very wrong here.

The media has ruined this race in order to get ratings.

It’s time to show just how many of us there REALLY are. It’s time to revolt.

We are in no mood to settle for an unqualified, anti-american crook or McCain.

We want Senator Hillary Rhodham Clinton When do we want it? Now!

Comment by UncleSam | 2008-05-11 14:17:14

The media is paid off by guys like Karl Rove, and David Axelrod, no more than a bunch of paid, stupid hacks.

Be real here, this situation is engineered by a bunch of people with a lot of money, lobbyists gone wild.

But if you know what you’re doing, it’s pretty easy to manipulate the tools who think this shit works.

Comment by Pagan Power | 2008-05-11 13:38:19

These folks are nuts. They are Obama supporters so I guess I am being redundant.

I don’t know what to make of any of this. I fully support people’s right to protest whatever they desire. But I am concerned that what the people involved in this project have in mind isn’t a peaceful protest but rather a very violent one. Or should I say, they haven’t taken violence off the table. They leave it there so that they can spread fear and terror. Or at least give others the impression that that is what they are willing to do should their demands not be met.

Maybe I am getting old but I have little tolerance for a bunch of haughty punks that think they can get away with creating mayhem without consequence.

Comment by beebop | 2008-05-11 13:40:43

Nothing like a little napalm in Denver for Bush and Cheney to use marshall law.

Comment by Uppity | 2008-05-11 14:41:22

Comment by UncleSam | 2008-05-11 14:45:24

If we had cheney’s personality, without the money or the white house, they wouldn’t even bother with the sears, they would let us code.

I was thinking today about the story you told of your mom, was it?

The gas man threatened her, and she told him she would cut off his penis, frying it up with green peppers, and onions, and serve it back to him, for lunch?

Was that your Mom?

Now that’s a Mom.

And happy mother’s day, to all the moms out there, your beautiful and well brought up children make the nation, and the world better.

Thank you.

Aging DFHs like Ayers and Dohrn who are waxing nostalgic over Chicago 1968 are insane.

Denver 2008 will not be anywhere nearly as kind to radical demonstrators as Chicago 1968. Lakefront Chicago was always liberal and the locals did not have guns. In Chicago the cops were working class Irish, Poles and Italians who lived in neighborhoods like Bridgeport, Marquette, Portage and Edison Park. They still hate DFHs in those neighborhoods, but those cops were still softies compared to what the protesters will find in Denver.

In Colorado the locals all pack guns and will not tolerate any property destruction. Colorado is still very much a redstate home to Reverend Dobson and the Air Force Academny. Gov Ritter may be a Democrat but he is no liberal. Smash a window and you will be liable to end up wounded or dead at the hands of some armed to the teeth property owner. Get too cared away with the rioting and every elk hunting gun nut and ex-military with a rifle, semi-auto and handgun from all over the front range will love to drive into town and bag himself a DFH. And guess what nobody is going to shed a tear for your sorry ass.

Second it is also likely that large numbers of radical Open Borders crazies like the MEChistas and worse the ATZLAN Brown Berets with their own gangs of ANARCHIST hangers on will show up in Denver. These groups are not only radical but have their own well documented criminal element subgroups.

Then there could be groups of African-Americans protesting on behalf of Obama.

Yes I think hippy dippy New New Lefties may imagine that it will be just one Post Racial love fest between Blacks, Whites and Hispanics protesters. But I seriously doubt it. Increasingly Hispanics and Blacks have divergent interests over Open Borders immigration policies. In Los Angeles the county school districts are plagued with frequent race riots. Senseless shoots of AAs by hispanic gangs and illegal aliens are happening almost daily. You are just as likely to see a race riot breakout amongst the protesters.

Then there is a decent chance that riots in Denver could touch off similiar riots in LA, Houston, Chicago….

All I can think about is great. A bunch of immature assholes will destroy any hope of rebuilding the Democratic party in the Rocky Mountain states. That was the whole idea of locating the convention in Denver in the first place.

I am just affraid that theu will spend all their mommy and daddy’s money on rooms at the Hyatt in respect for Penny Pritzky and the wonderful job of funneling dirty money into Obama’s campaign!

But then on the other hand if Hillary does stay in the race until the convention. As sure as sh*t, all of those silly caucus delegates that Obama picked up out west may decide they want nothing to do with his racist separatist crazy ass and may insist on voting for a different candidate.

In my mind if Hillary holds on until the convention all bets are off as to who gets the nomination. It could very well be a drafted candidate.

Comment by Uppity | 2008-05-11 13:47:27

I copied a message board where they said Obama must win “at all costs”. Just so you know.

Comment by UncleSam | 2008-05-11 14:19:14

So, uppity, should we be frightened?

They’re dumb bowls of fat pudding, bit deal.

Comment by UncleSam | 2008-05-11 14:20:07

big, sorry.

Given this is the group that can’t win Iraq, for some reason, I’m not concerned.

Comment by Uppity | 2008-05-11 15:13:16

Well that depends on whether or not some moronic old hippie gets overly happy and steps over the line. With these things, one wrong move and there’s chaos. Next thing you know, everybody is hitting everybody else over the head. I saw it happen plenty of times. somebody gets porky and next thing you know, the cops get pissed. And you KNOW there are going to be people there who think “peaceful” is for the birds.

Funny you should mention his delegates. He ditched a huge chunk of them. I guess they got to know him better. I have forum piece on that. An obama person complaining that suddenly he was dropping invites to the convention after they busted their asses for him.

Well just remember Bill Ayers said he didn’t think they “did enough” and he wasn’t discounting more.

Bill is such a phony. Nothing like all of the distasteful money to get your ass out of jail and hire a dirty lawyer to keep you out of the slammer. He’s such a poser.

This psychological game hes playing demanding that we accept him as our leader of else suffer the wrath is starting to get on my fucking nerves. FUNNY .. I just clicked on that ‘recreate 68 link’.
One of their alleged goals is to ‘end racism’.
But what about THEIR racism against everyone who
isn’t black? Blame white = end racism …

Uppity, Obama’s one of many Albatrosses.

Anyone who does not take this seriously as a threat to civil society is not looking at it in the way I do.

When the first person is injured as a consequence of Obama’s association with people connected to this group, there will be hell to pay.

The law enforcement reaction to this will be unforgiving. Considering the convention is a national security event and the odds of other “unknown groups” taking advantage of the situation being a real possibility, the damage will be expressed by the loss of Freedom of Assembly.

Comment by UncleSam | 2008-05-11 14:26:15

The thing, though teak, is there are two, maybe three wars occurring, and THAT is breaking the country. Gagsta MEL T (or was that the spice girl)is not going to solve Iraq, neither is Axelrod, or Rove, sorry.

So, these idiots either pay attention to the REAL war, or keep pretending these little skirmishes matter, and loose everything they sought to control.

David Geffen has no money if the world economy fails because the US didn’t produce a good leader, and Obama ain’t it. And, in honor of the mobius strip that crew locked itself into, they ALL fall.

So, yawn, if they wanna fight, let the cops crush their skulls, nothing to lose in those skulls anyway.

Comment by UncleSam | 2008-05-11 14:29:58

To add, Cheney’s trolls DO NOT understand why they’re losing Iraq, really don’t, and here the republicans are, helping to prop Obama, to elect McCain, so they can continue with these failed policies, which are starting to affect the businesses of the wealthy.

Brilliant, Darwin awards to the whole crew.

Thank you for sharing your memories. Those were not happy times. I don’t understand the longing for anarchy and destruction. As someone else said, there is not a draft now. In 1968 young men lived with the fact that they could get called up at any time. The well to do kids got college deferments, by the way. Later, you hoped your brother got a high draft number in the lotter. Or if you were not in college, you got drafted.

If you weren’t well-to-do, you suffered more. Same as now.

Comment by Uppity | 2008-05-11 14:44:18

Even if you were in college you got drafted. It was a lottery. Your number came up, you went. These young pussies want all of the consolations of 68 but they have no clue what the consequences were.

This effort could be a Republican trick. There was a guy in Massachusetts, Ron Something or other, a Republican, who organized a Police Association strike at the Democratic convention in Springfield MA. It was a Republican trick to disrupt and discredit the Democrats.

Those delusional cretins are JUST lost…

Didn’t anyone ever stand up to them, before, when they bullied?

My god, this is the same tact they took in Iraq, how’d that work out for those morons?

Comment by Catriley | 2008-05-11 15:48:29

I’m pretty sure this is not a republican thing, as we’ve all be watching it come together online in bits and pieces. You see threats here and there and people alluding to “plans”, and somehow the crazies all found each other. Sadly, I think this is exactly what it appears :(

Comment by Palomino | 2008-05-11 14:25:03

Re-Create 68 is probably a GOP rent-a-mob operation (as in Dade County in 2000), its efforts supplemented by those of a volunteer Obamazoid dupe-a-mob.

These people are complete idiots. And if they knew anything about the culture of protest or of the Marxist foundations of that culture, they would understand their event is both simulated and farcical. I recommend they read Baudrillard and Marx, who famously likened repetition to farce.
