Clinton’s Rural Advantage
By TexasDarlin on May 12, 2008 at 3:32 PM in Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Texas, West Virginia

Shepherdstown, W. Va.
While Barack Obama is busy ordering champagne for his premature victory party on May 20th, Hillary Clinton is pounding the West Virginia trail to get-out-the-vote in Tuesday’s primary.
By all accounts Clinton will enjoy a double-digit win in West Virginia, followed by another in Kentucky one week later. And even though Obama, his surrogates, and pundit parrots are furiously pre-spinning his losses in these two states by suggesting that they don’t really matter — West Virginia and Kentucky could end up being game-changers for Clinton. Here’s why:
Rural America can determine who becomes the next President. And West Virginia and Kentucky show off Clinton’s commanding rural advantage.
But they aren’t the only ones. Check out the county-by-county results from four very close contests (Clinton is red; Obama, green):
Missouri (Obama won by 1.3%):
New Mexico (Clinton won by 1%):
Texas (Clinton won by 3.5%):
Indiana (Clinton won by 2%)
As you can see, Clinton’s base covers a broader geographic region, nearly a sweep of counties. Although population counts may be relatively equal between the red and green areas — these maps illustrate how well she consistently performs in rural America.
Hillary has hit her stride in small towns and rural communities across the country, connecting with working class voters with a populist appeal reminiscent of Bobby Kennedy. For those who have followed Hillary Clinton’s life and career, we know it’s genuine. You can see the joy on her face when she’s working the rope line in town squares, even at the end of a 16-hour day. Of course Obama’s “bitter” moment aided her, but cinching this demographic segment is a crucial achievement that Clinton has earned for the Democrats. And, you might say…one benefit of this extended primary season that some party members are anxious to end.
A Democratic pollster for the Wall Street Journal and NBC News said it well:
Rural and small-town voters are the best indicators of whether a candidate is connecting with the values of Middle America. “They are America. Too often Democrats end up with candidates who can speak only to metro America. If you can speak to [rural and small-town America], then you relate to the rest of America.”
Pay attention, folks. These are General Election swing voters needed to reach 270 electoral votes.
Swing voters.
And no one understands that better than the superdelegates, many of whom rely on these same voters for their own re-elections.
So Barack Obama might think twice about dismissing West Virginia and Kentucky, even if he calculates that their votes and delegates are inconsequential to the nomination. The hard-working people of Appalachia and bluegrass country represent a nationwide constituency capable of delivering the White House in November. And for Clinton, they will put her within striking distance of a popular vote lead.

It seems that the calls for Hillary to drop out are aimed at nothing more than preventing further embarrassment to The Preferred One. I was a proud Democrat for 40 years, but now feel my membership is lapsing.
As is his refusal to campaign there.
Me, too. This has been anything but a fair and unbiased race. Axelrod and Obama definitely have a machine…but a sheep-lulling machine is not what we need. Hillary has 16.6 million supporters, Obama has 16.7 million supporters and pundits and fellow Democrats are calling for her to drop out? That’s just rude. Just think of the people that the Clinton’s elevated into positions of political and professional power. There’s no loyalty in the Democratic party for the 2 people who saved it…so I will have no loyalty for the Democratic Party, if this ends without a fair solution.
You hit the nail on the head. They tried to paint Hillary Clinton as the attacking candidate when all along it’s been the other candidate and a wing of the DNC. I’m a very liberal, progressive democrat and this has been the most disappointing moment I’ve ever seen in my life going on in a primary and they have the audacity (Ted Kennedy) of painting her in their light. The Clintons have been the fundraiser for this party for a very long time and it’s criminal to see the way a part of their own party is treating them to try and wrestle for power. If this is going to be the future for the DNC I would hope she would consider running as an independent and possible a third party could emerge. With 24/7 free postive press coverage by the media for Obama, the resentment within the party directed at her and the misogyny that exist in both how close she has been able to stay in this race is a testament to her strength and intelligence.
Perhaps the dream team would be McCain and Hillary. She could help reform the Republican party and restore it to the spirit of Lincoln.
Hillary is “country strong” as the saying goes.
Not just strong, or stout, country strong means she can do the heavy lifting needed to right things.

Clinton 62
Obama 30
Kentucky Democratic Primary
It appears Clinton’s support in Kentucky has not shifted over an eight week period. Obama cannot win rural America and lunch bucket Democrats. And Kentucky is a state we must win in November.
FL and MI will help too!
Too bad they were naughty, and have to be punished.
Yeah. What’s the crap about Rights. Rules are more important than Rights. They are practicing for the “new” kind of government.
i love seeing this picture with that black man up front…
i have always loved african americans, my heart breaks to see the divide that has come between us…
i used to watch movies or see documentaries on the slave days, and i would cry and cry. i even cried when i was a kid watching shirley temple and
Bo Jangles…
i hope hillary brings the ‘hope’ back to america, after ‘grinch’ obama took it away…
Well, since you like African Americans so much, you can get happy, because Obama will be our next president. He doesn’t just get the black vote he also gets the young, well educated, professional white vote. Maybe Hilary does get the older, poorer white vote but that is not the majority of our country. Get over it, Hilary may win in Kentucky but she will lose the nomination, and if poor, old, white Americans want to bail out of the Democratic party, go for it. They will deserve 4 more years of bush lite.
Wow, Nancy K. Talk about arrogance.
I doubt it’s a “she.” I can’t imagine a woman being like that. Wait, strike that; Exhibits 1A & B: Michelle Obama and Donna Brazile.
IF your guy, Mr. Hope steals the election, you can blame yourself for President McCain. You’ve already been shown the guy cannot win the GE. Open your eyes.
sweetheart
what in the world is your claim to fame? Larry Johnson has a PhD. I have a masters in Internationl Relations. Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame have multiple advanced degrees. Jamie Rubin teaches at the London School of Economics. My father holds a PhD in Biology and was Chair of the Anatomy Dept. at a very well-known med school
Do you really think that the vast majority of people who post on this website have not an inkling of what is going on. We are far from being “rubes” as our command of the English language well shows. And furthermore, I know plenty of people who do not hold advanced degrees and have started new industries, technologies and very successful business enterprises. I also know, from my days in graduate school, that it does not bode well for an academic institution to allow its’ students to fall by the wayside. Even if it takes alittle hand-holding, most graduate programs will see to it that their students graduatel; however little an “education” they may have truely received.
Lastly, if you think that I, a 38 year old profession woman, who lives inside the Capital Beltway, earns over $50,000 a year, drinks lattes and eats sushi and, to top it all off, is a Lord and Taylor lesbian, am going to fall for your little elitist ploy and pull the lever for Senator Obama think bloody well again!
so pull the lever for McCain then, because that will be your choice. Wont that be satisfying for your wounded ego to watch our country go down the tubes - presumably you hold many of the same progressive ideals as I do - while the world goes up in flames? The SNL skit had it dead on; Hillary has no ethical bounderies , and is a VERY sore loser.By any objective measure, SHE has sown the seeds of the division and destruction of the Dem party to assuage her own ‘my way or the highway’ quest for power.
I know you disagree. But think REALLY hard before you pull that lever in November.
I think that Barack Obama is the most dangerous politician in ANY POLITICAL party since Richard M. Nixon.
The party affiliation is not what scares me. John McCain was almost John Kerry’s Vice President, so your point is a little obscure.
The nation we love will be in tatters if Obama is in the White House except as a guest.
You must be joking. SNL was a parody of the media coverage last week. Our country will not go down the tubes. With a large Democratic majority in the House and Senate, they will be able to work on Democratic issues. Hillary has not lost anything…it’s not over. She has also said she will campaign for Obama if he wins, which is more gracious than Michelle Obama ever thought about being.
Hey Jim buddy.
Don’t play the guilt card with me. I have been a member of the Democratic party since I was old enough to vote. Cast my first vote back in 1988 for Dukakis and have voted Democratic ever since.
Where was Markos? Oh yeah, voting for George H.W. Bush
Where was Arianna Huffington? Married to the gay Michael Huffington and voting Republican. Telling the world in 1996 how much better this country would be in if we would all vote for Bob Dole.
Where was Andrew Sullivan? Jerking off to pictures of Maggie Thatcher and Ronnie Reagan and voting Bush’s ass into office in 2000
Where was Franch Rich and Maureen Dowd? In 2000 doing nothing but lying and denigrating Al Gore.
Where was Sam Sedar from Air America? Casting a vote in 2000 for Ralph Nadar, because there really was no difference between Bush and Gore (Wrong!!)
So fuck off! I have given thousands of dollars of hard-earned money to this party as well as my blood, sweat, and tears. I have had it with the lot. I am not a Log Cabin Republican, and I will certainly not be a Log Cabin Democrat giving money to some asshole who refuses to have his picture taken with Gavin Newsom or Donna “I’m a big old lezzy but don’t think that gays deserve to have a place in the DNC’s civil rights charter!!
And no….I will not be voting for McCain, but I damn sure won’t be voting for Obama.
Euro, ….WHOA!
Eurogirl,
Get down girlfirend!!!! I’m going to copy & paste that and use it in my travels.
Brava!!!!
Eurogirl, say it loud, say it often!!!!!!!!!!
well said. thanks for the reminders
I find Barack Obama’s ethical boundaries far more offensive, in fact I think he has none. He just pretends he does. And yes, I shall pull the lever for McCain. This tells you how objectionable I find Barack Obama. The assumption here that any of this has to do with wounded ego perhaps could be better responded to by telling you that if John Edwards were the one emerging as the winner, I would have supported him wholeheartedly. I will not only not vote against my best interests for a man who has set gender and racial relations back by at least 30 years, but I remember Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn. I also find his middle east connections more than just a little unsettling and I believe that he has a conflict of interest that is dangerous to not only my country’s safety, but Democracy as I know it. I believe he would be far happier in the middle east, particularly in Pakistan. And since they set women on fire in Pakistan for no other reason than they ticked somebody off, you can understand why I am not feeling very warm and fuzzy toward this man. And his treatment of women on the trail is simply unacceptable, not to mention unprofessional and unbecoming of a man who would be president. If he had pulled the vibrating phone routine where i come from, he would be fired. A despicable man, whose followers understand just how little he respects women and adjust themselves accordingly in their behaviors.
You see this is the divisiveness that makes me not want to vote for Obama. It’s trolls like you that are all over the internet spewing hate from the beginning of this primary, the hypocrisy. It’s so “Rovian” to accuse the other candidate of the very thing your doing in your own campaign. If you really want your guy elected in January he might tell all of those educated youths working the campaign not to be so insulting to the women who was a mentor to your candidate when he arrived in the senate and it would also be “smart” not to have so many sexist boys showing no respect.
wounded ego …mmmm. Where have I seen that before on national TV countless times for the last 2 years?
Could it be Senator Clinton? Naw she has been called and accused of everything under the sun stars and moon.
Could it be Biden? Naw his heart is in the right place.
Could it be Richardson? Cowards the end yea, but nothing like cold cash to salve the wounded ego…
Could it be Edwards? He is no fool and has been done this road before.
Could it be Dodd? His ego is on overdrive and he is pissed he has to share a flat in DC…
Dennis Kucinich? Naw he is to blunt to care for egos.
Hillary has said “I will be fine” win or loss. No ego in that statement.
The clown in the center tent is Barrack Obama. I am waiting for the O in his name to turn into a frakin YinYang symbol.
Ego to BO is like suffocating on your own perfume in a NY elevator going down. Rezko is a man who can pick a mark. The “pictures at his exhibition” would fill a large gallery in SoHo.
I suspect Fitzgerald has a keen eye for post-impressionists.
Actually, Valerie Plame recently attended a luncheon with Michelle Obama and other women in Chicago politics, and she said that while she supports Hillary for the nomination, she will support either Democrat in the fall.
Actually the white, hispanic, asian etc., working class, older Americans are the majority. You need to get that understood.
I have a M.S. in Engineering. I still consider myself working class because that’s where I came from. As a single mother, I relate to someone who knows a little about hard work.
I don’t give a crap about race. I care about Universal Healthcare. Obama will never lift one finger to pass Universal Healthcare. I care about leaving Iraq. Obama slides all over this issue. I care about Social Security. Obama will work with Republicans to privatize Social Security. I care about jobs. Obama will cost Amercia jobs. And dammit I care about the price of gas and I support making Oil COmpanies pay the gas tax for a while.
How did Obama even get in the position of redefining Democratic Party when he is clearly leaning toward the Republicans on every issue that matters? Who opened the door and let the Republicans take over our party?
Rove has entirely TOO MUCH TIME on his hands.
LOL. I remember when Rove left the White House. Everybody at the old progressive blogs that are now verboton were jubilant. I, myself, was more than a little nervous. I preferred him where we could keep an eye on him. Well, NOW we know what he was up to. The little wanker.
Don’t kid yourself fooj, he uses his time well. And gets paid a bundle in the process. The pink-eyed pig is a political genius, the likes of which we haven’t seen since Lee Atwater. Lee Atwater however was on his death bed when he pleaded to God to forgive him for all the horrible crap he had foisted upon America with his conniving and manipulations. Mr. Pink Eyes might want to take that into consideration.
Perhaps your M S in engineering - gee who’s being elitist, now? - didnt prepare you to listen to economists, that actually know SOMETHING about the subject of gas taxes. Try reading ANY of the major news publications concerning the reaction of economists to H’s gas tax holiday. The savings is in the range of $30 over the summer. 300,000 jobs and the health of our highway infrastructure depends on that funding( here in MN we’ve lost 3 major bridges to deterioration - I’m sure you heard about 1 of them)
Hillary was pandering, plain and simple. Apparently that’s another thing your education didnt prepare you for.
Gee, wrong on almost all counts.
For my wife and I, the savings would be almost $90 for this summer alone. For the average family, about $60.
Hillary’s proposal DID NOT take money out of the Highway Trust Fund (that’s McCain’s plan). Now I know Obama has lied to you about this repeatedly, but you’re an intelligent person, look it up.
Hillary’s proposal taxed Big Oil on their windfall profits… you know, the same Big Oil that bundles contributions for Obama.
Funny thing, when Obama was FOR a gas tax holiday in Illinois… it worked. The prices stayed down 60-80% of the tax relief.
Do try and conduct your own research next time.
I can see the ad now. Obama was for the gas tax holiday before he was against it.
And then they are going to superimpose Harry Reid speaking about gas prices a year before…at the same gas station.
Prices are up and the Dems said they were going to “change” things!
Please say a prayer for the lost souls in Burma and central China. There is a disturbance in the force.
So many, it doesn’t even phase me anymore, these mass casualty events. We’ve had so many, you take them in stride, part of nature, I guess.
Pray for those who have passed in that tragedy, though, personally I will donate to the red cross, just as with New Orleans, and the tsunami.
Jimbo, why did Barky vote for Cheney’s energy bill when both Hillary and Mcain did not? And why did he take money from Exelon if he’s such a green candidate? And why if he is such an anti war candidate did he take money from General Dynamics? Ok, let’s hear how Hillary did the same old thing, blah, blah, blah.
More importantly, do Obama’s oil guys represent “young turks?”
And are they a threat to Cheney’s oil guys?
Or is ALL of oil united behind Obama?
Some of those republicans are really racist, though, even as another oil stooge, I can’t see them supporting an AA for President, and THAT wife…
Course if it means African inroads, they’ll hold their noses..
And I’d say the military in Africa, within six months of an Obama presidency, I bet they already have the plans written.
And fixing elections, well, oil knows how it’s done…
$30.00, $60.00, $90.00 in gas savings would mean an awful lot to many people. I doubt there would be any shenanigans from the oil companies, from taxing their windfall profits, without charges and fines.
I’m going to settle this “educated” argument once and for all.
Educated individuals KNOW how to research. Educated individuals know how to check the sourcing of information. Educated individuals don’t argue perpetually about something that has already been proven false. Educated individuals don’t spew propaganda as fact.
Take your bullshit elsewhere, buddy. Obama voted for the very gas taxes you are bloviating about in the Illinois State Senate. Apparently, pandering is a no-no…unless, of course, it’s being done by Little Lord Obama.
The facts are out there for all to see. EDUCATED people take a moment to analyze and assess facts. Sounds like you’ve got a lot of work to do. Better get busy. Oh, and if you need any suggestions on where to start always remember…google is your friend.
You mistake “elitist” for “educated”. They are not the same. Elite is an attitude, using coupled with silly affectations that make them believe they are superior, when they are not. But it works for them. That’s why they only hang out with each other. Kind of like a circle jerk of self-aggrandizement.
There are plenty of highly educated people who are not elitists. They don’t have their head in the clouds and sticks up their butts for starters.
Jimobuddy,
My M.S. prepared me to WORK. While I admit I do not pay a lot of attention to economists, I have heard a whole shitload of them saying we are not in a recession. They are WRONG. So, I don’t pay them any attention because they will say whatever they are told to say. GREENSPAN???
Without consulting an Economist, I know I got really very good raises for a state empoloyee right up until Hillary’s husband left office. Haven’t had a decent raise since. And neither has any other state employee here.
I worked my ass off - working full time and raising four young children to get that M.S. and, yes, I am proud of that accomplishment. So is my family because I was the first person in my family to graduate from college. My older brothers both went to Vietnam. My younger brother went to Desert Storm.
I live in a very economically depressed area, and every fucking penny matters to all of my neighbors many of whom are migrant workers. They need help. Since I live 45 miles from work, it works out to more like #30/month. $30 can buy enough groceries to feed one person for a month if you are frugal. Food stamps don’t go far when the grociery bill is skyrocketing.
In addition Hillary’s plan forces oil companies to pay the tax. Just closing the loopholes they use to steal oil from taxpayers in my state would probably make up the difference. And highways are great if you can afford to drive on them.
Don’t you know? Work is SO 20th Century!
When Obama proposed a gas tax holiday in Illinois when he was state senator that wasn’t pandering? And his gas tax holiday did not include a windfall profits tax like hers does. Oh and speaking of pandering, what would you call Obama’s sudden decision to support drivers’ licenses for illegals just before the California primary?
They all pander. They all pretend the other one panders and they don’t.
This is the fun part of politics to me. I just look for when they are pandering to me and if its substantial enough to turn my head.
When Bill Clinton got our freeways back up in record time after the earthquake in LA right before the 2nd term?
Trust me….he won my goodwill.
Gas break? I’ll take it.
An admission from Obama that it’s OK if the little woman keeps pretending there’s a race? Not so good.
Perhaps you missed the trucker strike that Hillary attended in PA?
That gas tax holiday was also to help the O/O who has been forced to carry most of the cost in fuel for the past few years with fuel surcharges not keeping up.
Those truckers have been taking the hit and losing their businesses….but hey since it is all about you….nevermind what they have done for you.
While you are busy ignoring those Owner Operators they are the ones who help keep shipping prices resonable for OTHER small business owners. The largest employers other than the govt.
But hey it’s no big deal to give these guys a break because they are uneducated about the $30 it would put in YOUR pocket.
Let me give you a tip….prices are about to skyrocket as the trucking industry can no longer absorb the costs for the ungrateful masses and the pass through is much faster now.
They already 36% of the total for fuel surcharges depending on the state the load orginated from.
But hey forget the big picture, it is more false political ground for Obama, at your expense no less.
lol
“How did Obama even get in the position of redefining Democratic Party when he is clearly leaning toward the Republicans on every issue that matters? Who opened the door and let the Republicans take over our party?”
This is a question that is foremost on my mind. And as far as high profile Dems supporting the Dem ticket, I have no problem with that. Their position is different from mine. I am a private citizen who is pissed off that my Party was hijacked, that I was played for a fool, my intelligence insulted by Obama, his supporters and the MSM.
Furthermore, Barack Obama is not qualified to be POTUS. I will say that again and again and again and again.
Bullshit. Check out the numbers. Nancy, you’ve been had.
Nancy,
I’m always curious as to why some voters vote the way they do, and as to just how informed they are before they vote. I’d like to ask you for my own research how much you know about Aiham Alsammarae, Rashid Khalidi, Nadhmi Auchi, William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, and what effect, if any, these people have had on the policies of Barack Obama. Thank you for responding.
***Crickets***
***More Crickets***
what does “crickets” mean in blog talk?
well educated…
You see that is a myth. I have seen people with PH d’s show very little ability to think critically, understand that it takes “brain” effort and a command of the subject matter at hand.
You do not need a high school diploma to understand BO is a vote for purgatory. And the race or color of the man means jack shit,as to if he is qualified.
Nancy K; if you think Bush rendition of “My Pet Goat” was bad, Bo failed a national security run through so badly that a Congressman broke protocol to say so publicly. These matters are classified so it would take a great concern to do this.
I am a professional, well educated person of “Western European” decent. I will enjoy the “getting over” as BO already considers you as woman a second class citizen. He will not assist you in anyway if he gets elected. The only thing he knows about womens issues is when Michelle yanks his leash for not cleaning up after himself…in other words his own wife thinks him a forgetful slob. eh. Get over it your own self.
And give a toast Auchi for me, since your so well informed and well educated.
Can Sen. Cotton Candy sell his hopium to the other half of the Democratic party? You know, the half the voted for Sen. Real Deal Experience.
We don’t like the new politic of sweet lies. We prefer bitter pills, hard works, typical American value.
Poor Nancy. Off your meds again?
Troy, wow that certainly added to the discussion! So original
When she decides to have a discussion, i’ll add.
ahhhh nancy..i have spent a life as a professional..I am well educated And i am very rich..and hell will freeze over before i would vote for Obama..now take that to your polling place..
see Nancy educated people know how to research!!..and since my business (that my co-workers died on 9/11)..involves security and national security..like i said ..hell will freeze over before i vote for that novice with the nasty little obamabrats..and pockets filled with terrorists money!
fly- a 2004 Elected Democratic Delegate from the State of Florida..who has done 2 years of public speaking for the Dem Party and I am about to quit the dem party because of Obama stealing my vote in Florida!
take a look and and read it and weap..you foolish foolish person!

Pundits ignore facts when they do not fit their narrative. First it was Frank Rich. Now it is Jonathan Alter (via Yglesias selling the nonsense):
It was the “Grandma Primary.” Barack Obama lost Pennsylvania mostly because white working-class women over 60 dominated the contest to an astonishing degree, and they backed Hillary Clinton by more than 2-1. The big question is what that means for November. Obama carried men and younger and middle-aged voters, but that wasn’t nearly enough.
This is false in every particular. [More…]
The PA exit polls prove this. Clinton won ALL voters 40-49 by 54-46. She won ALL voters 50-64 by 57-43. these two age groups comprised 56% of the vote in Pennsylvania. Of course Clinton also won all whites 60 and older by 68-32. But she also won all whites 18-29 by 52-48. She also won all whites 30-44 by 58-42.
Jonathan Alter write an entire column that is premised on a gross falsehood. He approvingly quotes Obama saying “”If you look at the numbers, our problem has less to do with white working-class voters [than] with older voters.” that is just false. Alter reports it as fact. This is now common from him. It is a shame. He was once a good journalist. See also Mark Blumenthal’s debunking of this nonsense.
Nancy, you’d better Google “United States demographics” and check your figures. You’re way off, but why does that not surprise me. After all, your candidate thinks we have 57 states.
He got them mixed up with the 57 Islam states.
nancy,
i would never cry over you, your just a little ahead of yourself, you ozombies think you’ve got this in the bag?
you dont see hillary sweating do you?
you dont see her dropping out of the race do you?
HMMMMMMMMMM I WONDER WHY…
its a talent, its a chess game, its the
‘BEST STRATEGY’, WHO’S GOT GAME?
CLINTONS GOT GAME…
they’ve done this all their lives, everything is not what it seems to be…
even all the ‘old hillary people’ know that.
its been real amusing for us, cause we see all the juveniles getting happy, they think its a done deal. but we know something about politics the all the children dont…
a cool move can change the whole landscape, a piece of dirt on an aspiring candidate could kill the superdelagates enthusiasm for obama.
a threat of mass exodus of dems from the dem party, could turn the sd’s.
a riot at the democratic convention. could scare the sd’s.
a possibility of losing big win general ekectuib states, would be hard for sd’s to take…
a decision to go independant, would f*_king freak the sd’s out…
a temporary suspension of hillary candidacy might wake sd’s up.
anything could happen, evidence campaign irregularities could certainly put a question in sd’s minds.
oh and my favorite one would be finding a video of obama spouting black liberation theology, would really play well with the sd’s, hmmm?
big win of elections states
I’m right there with you. However, I think for MAXIMUM effect, we should register as Repubs. Let’s become THEIR biggest nightmare. I see it as a two-fer.
May 20th- D-Day! National Democratic Defection Day!
FUNNY NANCY WENT MIA… the ignuts don’t last long with facts do they????????
hmmmmmmmmm
fly
Methinks nancy hasn’t been involved in politics very long. The actual VOTE doesn’t occur till August. Knowing that Barky has a huge skeleton closet, Time is not Barky’s friend.
She’s in Community College getting C’s. The rest is fantasy.
Heeeeeey. What’s wrong with CC’s? My rich republican parents refused to pay for my education. My husband had to join the Army for the GI Bill. I had to do GE at a community college because my folks made waaaay too much money for me to get loans and kept using me for taxes. Now my husband has a Master’s that he finished up while being in Iraq. Summa Cum Laude. And I’m hoping to go to back and finish my last three classes to finally get my BS in Poly Sci, now that the twins are old enough. I’m blue collar middle class and damned proud of it because we did it without anybody’s help. except Uncle Sam’s.
That would be BA in Poly Sci.
Yeah but you didn’t pretend you had a phd. That was my point. If she’s got a phd you are a brain surgeon.
Nah. I wanted to go to med school but the sight of blood makes me pass out. Haha.
I went to community college…that’s how I got my Full Scholarship to a Private University….Your odds go up …..way up if you go to a community college for the first 2 years….
COMMUNITY COLLEGES ROCK…THEY ARE FOR SERIOUS STUDENTS….
Nancy, the Obama Rally is calling you. The Triumph of Hope.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMVql9RLP34
When Obama is roundly and decidedly defeated, will you simply “get over it” or can we expect to see you at the threatened riots in Denver?
You have made yourself sound like an ignorant, spoiled-child with entitlement issues and utterly lacking in any kind of perspective on the best interests of the country, a snob that can’t see the filthy masses over the lip of their latte. Quite an accomplishment for a mere 5 lines. Great job!
…and you can bet she’s supplemented by her parents.
What happened to your “Jewishness?”
I knew that was baloney from word one.
Oh Brother. Keep dreaming. There is no way republicans will choose Barky the terrorist over Mccain the War Hero. I can see the commercial already. Rev. Wright screaming “GOD DAMN AMERICA” and Michelle screeching For the first time in my adult life, I’m proud of my country” being played over scenes of John Mccain being carried off a military plane on a stretcher. You know the one where he can’t put his arms down because he was held in a stress position with his arms behind AND above his head. And seeing how Donna Brazille says she doesn’t need the blue collar working class, Rev. wright pissed off the Garlic nose Italians (I believe the GOP already has video of this as well). Obama called us typical white folks who cling to guns and God. His campaign just fired an advisor for meeting with Hamas making Jewish folks nervous. Damn, who else do you have voting for you? Oh that’s right, college student still tied to their mamma’s apron strings (and credit cards) and the AA vote. All 13% of the population. Um yeah, have fun in November.
I’m not poor, nor white and I’m for Hillary. Don’t fit the stereotype huh? My husband, the guy that hasn’t called a political contest wrong, says if we don’t give up Hillary will get the nomination.
Bless your heart. Poor sugar gets harrassed every day of her life for being AA and supporting Hillary.
Here’s hoping your husband’s winning streak continues!
Convenient of you to forget the latino vote.
The Latino vote will forget them too.
Nancy to paraphrase Paul Begalla — You cannot win the Presidency with Eggheads and African Americans. You sound like you are putting down those who cannot afford to attend college. Perhaps if the interest on school loans wasn’t 23% maybe more Americans could afford college then they could be smart enough to vote for Obama.
So Obama’s going to be the nominee because he says so. He runs away from primaries but shows up to declare himself the winner of the nomination. You don’t find that a little premature and wierd. There is no way Obama will know the delegate count until they come out and vote at the Convention. But Obama can’t wait — he’s got a very important date.
just wanted to say make calls for Hillary so she wins in a landslide tomorrow.
Go to Hillary dot com and get out the vote.
Thanks to all the sites like this we have encouragement to get back up again and tomorrow will be a win, even if the spinners say it don’t matter.
Words matter, states matter to everybody but the DNC.
Rise Hillary Rise.
Go make calls, get off the internet. Read No Quarter during breaks and during the election results!
She’s working hard for us, we should be doing the same for her.
And donate, even before the victory if you got it.
Keep her in the race so we all get a pony. Do it for the ponies! She’s a work horse, he’s a slug.
