Obama’s Chavez Communist Hezbollah Hamas Problem

Barack Obama’s circle of advisors and supporters are playing with fire that could singe or even incinerate their King by cozying up to the Venezuelan strongman, Hugo Chavez. Chavez, a Castro wannabee, is more audacious than Barack and is backed by a healthy wad of oil dollars from Venezuela’s bounteous supply. Chavez, when not making interminable speeches or engaging in symbolic populism, also amuses himself with foreign meddling and support for causes that directly challenge the United States.

Flush with cash, Chavez has sent money and material assistance to the FARC–i.e., the Armed Revolutinary Force of Colombia–a longstanding Marxist insurgent group responsible for more than three decades of terrorism in Colombia. The FARC is like a prehistoric bug frozen in amber. They are completely out of touch with the modern world and refuse to acknowledge that Colombia is no longer a nation dominated by a small group of elites bent on plundering the masses. No matter. The FARC believes it is true and therefore, by definition, it must be true.

According to an Associated Press report on Sunday:

Documents that Colombia says it recovered from a slain guerrilla leader give the clearest indication yet that Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez sought to arm and finance insurgents across the border.

The documents — more than a dozen internal rebel messages — detail several years of close cooperation between top officials in Venezuela’s government and military and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC, including the construction of rebel training facilities on Venezuelan soil.

They also suggest Venezuela was preparing to loan the rebels at least US$250 million (euro190 million), provide them with Russian weapons and possibly even help them obtain surface-to-air missiles for use against Colombian military aircraft.

Most importantly, they outline a joint strategic project between Venezuela and the Colombian rebels, with Venezuela even seeking rebel training in “asymmetrical warfare” in preparation for a feared U.S. invasion.

This information is true. It is not fabricated. It is not planted. I also know, firsthand, from conducting undercover investigations in Colombia in the northeast Guajira peninsula, that a significant community of merchants with ties to Hezbollah, who lived and operated in Maicao, Colombia, have moved across the border and set up shop in Venezuela. I am not suggesting they are preparing terrorist attacks. These muslim merchants with strong family ties to Hezbollah in Lebanon are worried first and foremost about making money. A substantial portion of their wealth is obtained thru smuggling and grey market activities. They are willing to send money to Hezbollah but, so far, have shied away from supporting terrorist attacks on this continent.

Oh, and did I mention Hamas. A minority of the muslim merchants that moved across the border into Venezuela are tied to Hamas.
And Chavez, not missing a beat, rolled out the welcome mat for Hamas:

Venezuela’s president Hugo Chavez looks decided to go ahead with his self-denominated “anti-imperialistic” foreign policy despite Washington’s open and shady threats. This week, Caracas made public two moves meant to help US foes in Middle East. Hamas leaders will be received by Mr. Chavez “with pleasure”, as the South American oil-rich country confirmed that counts Iran as “great ally of brothers”.

“If they come, it will be a pleasure,” Vice President Jose Vicente Rangel told reporters when asked by reporters whether the government would receive a Hamas delegation. What is the problem with that? Aren’t they going to be received by Russia, Brazil and Argentina? And what’s more, they have a majority with the Palestinian people; they just won an election.”

So what does this have to do with Barack Obama. Let’s start with Bill Ayers again. You know, the guy Barack barely knew but also the same guy who named Barack as President of the Chicago School Reform Collaborative (The Annenberg Challenge). Ayers is a frequent visitor to Venezuela and also enjoys a relationship with Chavez. Here is part of what Bill Ayers said in November 2006:

President Hugo Chavez, Vice-President Vicente Rangel, Ministers Moncada and Isturiz, invited guests, comrades. I’m honored and humbled to be here with you this morning. I bring greetings and support from your brothers and sisters throughout North America. Welcome to the World Education Forum! Amamos la revolucion Bolivariana!

This is my fourth visit to Venezuela, each time at the invitation of my comrade and friend Luis Bonilla, a brilliant educator and inspiring fighter for justice. Luis has taught me a great deal about the Bolivarian Revolution and about the profound educational reforms underway here in Venezuela under the leadership of President Chavez. We share the belief that education is the motor-force of revolution, and I’ve come to appreciate Luis as a major asset in both the Venezuelan and the international struggle—I look forward to seeing how he and all of you continue to overcome the failings of capitalist education as you seek to create something truly new and deeply humane. Thank you, Luis, for everything you’ve done. . . .

Totalitarianism demands obedience and conformity, hierarchy, command and control. Royalty requires allegiance. Capitalism promotes racism and militarism – turning people into consumers, not citizens. Participatory democracy, by contrast, requires free people coming together voluntarily as equals who are capable of both self-realization and, at the same time, full participation in a shared political and economic life.

Education contributes to human liberation to the extent that people reflect on their lives, and, becoming more conscious, insert themselves as subjects in history. To be a good teacher means above all to have faith in the people, to believe in the possibility that people can create and change things. Education is not preparation for life, but rather education is life itself,an active process in which everyone— students and teachers– participates as co-learners. . . .

Let those of us who are gathered here today read this poem as “The Teacher’s Obligation.” We, too, must move in and out of windows, we, too, must build a project of radical imagination and fundamental change. Venezuela is poised to offer the world a new model of education– a humanizing and revolutionary model whose twin missions are enlightenment and liberation. This World Education Forum provides us a unique opportunity to develop and share the lessons and challenges of this profound educational project that is the Bolivarian Revolution.

That, boys and girls, is classic marxist bullshit. Capitalism, baaaaddd. Communism. Goooood. The “Revolution” lives.

Oh, did I mention that one of Barack’s big fundraiser also hearts Chavez. Jodie Evans, bundler for Barack, also made the pilgrimage to Caracas to engage in the verbal equivalent of buttocks smooching.
Jodie Evans Embraces Hugo Chavez

So here is the question for Barack–many of your followers, fundraisers, and longtime advisors believe that Hugo Chavez’s revolution is something superior to the capitalist model followed in the United States. Do you agree with them or disagree with them?

Here’s another question. Hugo Chavez is using his money to support terrorists that are attacking democratic nations and is welcoming the representatives of terrorist groups to come to his country. At the same time, your former boss, Bill Ayers, and one of your key fund raisers, Jodie Evans, are embracing Chavez and praising his leadership. Will you repudiate their actions and return the Code Pink money you have received?

And what about Venezuela’s subversion in Colombia? Will you insist that Venezuela respect Colombia’s borders and end its support to the FARC?

I am guessing that Barack will say no to the first two. I don’t know his position on the last question. What do you think?

Oh, and one last item. A significant portion of the oil we consume comes from Venezuela. What happens when Venezuela tries to use oil as a weapon against us? Saudi and Iraqi oil has little relevance to our daily lives. Not so with Venezuelan crude. But that’s a topic for another day.

Larry, Obama will never answer any questions, he follows the 48 golden rules!

And Larry, is there a place on the American Flag for a Marxist insignia should Obama become POTUS?…lol

Comment by JKFriz | 2008-05-13 07:26:24

To summarize: when we complain about Obama’s health care and energy policies, he’s a Republican, and when we complain about foreign policy, he’s a Marxist.

Just want to know the rules here.

hey uppity - looks like rush is doing our work for us:

You are aware, probably, that Barack Obama lost his bearings recently and said that he was going to campaign in all 57 states. You heard this? And everybody chalked it up to, “Well, he’s tired.”…

We’re participating here in a tweak of the media. Obama said he’s going to campaign in 57 states, and it turns out that there are 57 Islamic states. There are 57 Islamic states. “Every year from 1999 to 2005, the organization of the Islamic conference representing the 57 Islamic states,” this is from the International Humanist and Ethical Union. And the title of the piece here is, “How the Islamic states dominate the UN human rights council,” and there are 57 of them. So did Obama just lose his bearings, or was this a more telling slip, ladies and gentlemen?…

When your work and Rush’s work coincide, it might be prudent to wonder about the value of your work. Sometimes the enemy of your enemy is still your enemy; surely you realize this is just the right wing grasping at straws, and you have better sense than to buy into it.

Your opinion of the value of her work is unimportant. When you start writing checks to people you can assess the value of their work.

Furthermore, I myself am willing to work with anyone to make sure that barack Obama and his marxist friends never sit their radical asses in the white house. Rush Limbaugh is a big mouthed right wing nutcase. Barack Obama is a radical left wing nutcase. At this moment, Rush Limbaugh isn’t running for the most powerful position in the world and the takoever of my country by domestic and foreign slime balls. Therefore I have no problem with anything he does or says at this point. If you’ve got a problem with that, it’s your problem.

He just fired an aide who met with Hammas.

There are people out there with alot of money who trained him — for this purpose. How dumb can the Democratic Party and its elders in Congress be? I think this is the reason the SD’s have been holding off their support. I don’t blame the voters they can only go with the information they have but I do blame the party for not vetting him. Look at oil, and go from there, what do they want, how do their little drugged minds operate?

And if you see oil as international, which of course, we all do, and you see it as corrupt, which of course it is, you can see the pattern, the pattern, say, the nation of “bwana oil” how does it war? (Other than like a bunch of morons who think a coke bottle is a God?)

Obama is like a middle man, more so than Dick Cheney, the oil guys tell him what to do, and he does it, acting as their rep.

This is an excellent question.

Many of us have had questions asked of us — and WE aren’t even the target of the security check.

Do Senators need to undergo a security check? Perhaps the ones who are specific committees that deal with security issues.

But then it was the Prez and VP who released Plame’s name — The son of a Prez and the VP who had been on staff in other GOP administrations.

Comment by scott | 2008-05-12 23:31:47

It seems the committee that Barky is on that oversees NATO would require some sort of security clearance. Maybe thats why he’s never held a meeting.

I asked again are you sure they don’t run checks on candidates and she told me to “google it” I said i googled Obama and found out all this about him, why didn’t the DNC leaders at least do the same, or does the hatred of all things Clinton wipe out the fact we shopuldn’t let terrorist anywhere near the white house.

Larry most likely has the full answer to that.

A couple of weeks ago, it was bothering me also, so I called a few Congressional offices.

The answer is NO - the requirement to run for office is ability to raise funds - unless something comes out before or during the campaign.

I asked about Congressional staff and was told NO - “they sever at the pleasure of the member”.

We are under the right track in Colombia under Uribe who enjoys a 85% approval rating, the highest of democratic elected leader in the world. Under Uribe, the paramilitary forces have been demobilized and the FARC’s ranks have been culled from over 30,000 to under 8,000 in six years. I write some on Colombian issues and write alot on Clinton whom I ardently support.

I love my country.

I am willing to fight to protect its judiciary and their spouses and children unlike the Obamas’ evil firebombing mentors Ayers and Dohrn.

I will fight to uphold the rule of law unlike the Obamas’ loan maker Tony “The Fixer” Rezko, who is currently on trial for numerous counts of ripping off the taxpayers via kickback schemes.

Iraqi convicts like Auchi, Alsamare, et al and all the ugly mortgage fraud bundlers supporting Obama are A.O.K. with the DNC?

Decent Americans deserve the dollars wasted on this human excrement. Their suffering is real. They need health care, homes, jobs, and affordable fuel.

They aren’t sell outs for mansions like the hate-filled Rev. Wright and his followers the Obamas.

I would like to ask Howard and Donna — if you knew that Obama’s crowd was working with Chavez and against Democratic Countries — would you do whatever it takes to stop him from becoming the Democratic Nominee? Or at least would you then count Florida and Michigan.

I have to say I don’t know whether it would make a dimes worth of difference to Teddy, Kerry, Pelosi or the rest of the motley crew that supports Obama. It seems nowadays its all about CWOA cover your own ass and to hell with the rest of the country. Cause its so much easier to let him have the nomination and screw the American people then saying he must resign as a candidate for the Democratic Nomination. I hope I’m wrong. But there don’t seem to be many Roosevelts or Churchills out there today.

Those white workers that Obama loves to hate know the truth. You don’t need to go to fancy schools to know a fraud when you see one. You can smell one a mile off. Actually, Bill Clinton did help me a great deal with the cost of my daughter’s college tuition.

In 1996 he made it possible to deduct it off income taxes for the first time and it happened to be exactly when we needed it. My daughter was in college from 1996 - 2000 and those years our cost was reduced due to him.

She went to Cornell Engineering, so the cost was outrageous and he made it more affordable.

Bill (and Hillary) have always made education a major priority, that is a fact.

The Russerts are not supposed to declare outcomes before it actually happens. That’s the job of opinion pundits, but not for the head of a major news department

This statement is about Tim declaring Obama the nominee after the Nc and Indiana Primaries. I would have entitled the piece “Pundits as Pukes”. MSNBC needs to clean house…starting at the top.

I would venture what MSNBC is to retired generals, Shell is to marginal untalented ex CIA, and other wannabe “talent.”

It would be funny, (they’re such obtuse buffoons), if so many people weren’t harmed, but if they’re intent on destroying themselves, unable to war successfully, there really isn’t anything anyone can do, but encourage their business suicide.

It’s my impression not every operative is created equal, or for that matter, even able to recognize a troll.

First in his two books he is obsessed with race, Africa and contempt for the U.S. and white people in general.

Now I read over the course of the last two months that he is associated either directly or through his shady advisers with just about every sort of crook, thug, terrorist group imaginable.

Outside of having Osama and Ahmadinejad on speed dial he has the axis of evil pretty thing pretty much covered.

Rove and company must truly be amazed at the gift they have been given by the DNC, nutroots and Democratic congresspeople.

Simply amazing.

Obama is a MARXIST….His entire political indoctrination has been under the tutelage of men that promote MARXISM….
AYERS= MARXIST/ ANARCHIST/ TERRORIST
WRIGHT= BLACK LIBERATION THEOLOGY ( MARXISM WRAPPED UP IN THE BABY JESUS )
FARRAKHAN= BLACK SEPARATISM ALA MALCOM X ( MARXIST FASCISM WRAPPED UP IN ALLAH )
Obama and his wife subscribed for over 20 years to the POLTICAL PHILOSOPHY OF A THEOCRATIC DEMOGOGUE….THERE IS NO SEPARATION…
IN BLACK LIBERATION THEOLOGY THERE IS A FASCIST RACIAL SUPREMACY AND IT PROMOTES MARXIST MILITANT CLASS WARFARE….AN OVERTHROW OF DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENT AND CAPITALISM…..
THIS IS WHY THE MIDDLE CLASS IS DENEGRATED IN CHURCH LITERATURE..
IT IS MARXISM WRAPPED IN THE BABY JESUS….A CHRISTIAN HERESY…..

Klue Klux Can?

In terms of terror, everything they know comes from a can.

Of cheap soup.

Obama’s guys are dumber, and the USSR could be Cuba.

It’s not as if they even hide it. That’s the arrogant part of it. They actually think the Republicans aren’t going to touch these puppies and walk with two feet in one shoe because they are afraid of the Race Card they are already using ad nauseum–to the degree that people are already rolling their eyes when they hear it again.

Colombia is no pink puppy when it comes to some of its own efforts against unions, indigenous people etc.

Unless our allies pony up some transparency, there’s not much difference between our good guys and bad guys.

It could be argued these border elements are their own entities as well. They adhere to their own motivations and oppose leadership from government to either side, and try to have static or laissez faire relations with whoever the strongman is in the region.

You’ve seen the work up close more so than i have, but there’s other ways to undermining motivation. We’ve not seen Bush make much argument for unions, a secular entity which could advance private advance faster than could our efforts to fund one against the other and counterop both sides of the fence in the meantime.

The eye on Chavez before 9-11 was a major part of fumbling those items. Colin Powell was in South America on 9-11 visiting OPEC leaders including the deposed King of Afghanistan.

Pre emptive trade before pre emptive war.

So Chavez offered some cheap natural gas during the winter, the media didn’t really care to cover deaths from heat or cold extensively during the Bush years anyways. Let them eat hypothermia, etc.

We’d best find ways of engagement with these people, this isn’t an example of rule by of and for the corporation. Monroe Doctrine, meet Gordon Gecco.

For what it’s worth, Cindy Sheehan is quite inspiring, she’s more brave than almost every person in office.

If anything, we’ve capped oil imports to artificially stimulate the price. Asking China instead to become more competitive as a customer to Chavez, in order to fund job loss and billionaire tax cuts in our present trade relations with them, is the Bush/McCain plan.

There’s a lot of trade policy that must be addressed still, NAFTA seems to have have created monumental problems in Mexico, a country that has serious trouble counting its votes. They’re importing work from south of the border there, or it is finding its way here often(hello, Guatemala, workers in my neighborhood phone their families there every day).

A lot of these items could still go back to Obama’s work with Homeland Security. Pay to play, no bid contracting, funneling money through campaign contributors for bid rewards, human trafficking and labor camps for FEMA around NOLA’s rebuilding. Money to Mexico for their supposed part in maintaining their borders.

Obama’s a Committee member on Homeland Security? He has the Chair’s endorsement? Interesting.

The Chicago School of Economics — Shock Doctrine — Milton Freidman — the religion of Free Market economics. This “theory” was tried in several South American countries — and what happened was chaos. Naomi Klein’s book reviews the history of Milton Freidman’s and the Chicago boys doing the Free Market swindle. There is a whole lot of resentment with the US and the World Bank — which is seen as run and controlled by the US by many South American nations.

Some of Obama’s economic advisors are from the Chicago Milton Freidman world view and they are hoping for the Shock to hit the US. Remember Obama brought up the Social Security “crisis” to come. Of course the answer by bush and also Obama seems to be to turn SS over the Wall Street.

There seems to be all sorts of $$$$ interests who are funding Obama’s $250 million campaign. Wall Street, Oily people. Which corporations have vast profits and what to keep all the profits? Of course the Health Insurance Industry doesn’t want to lose their place at the pig trough.

Someone here also mentioned the OIL interests — and perhaps Obama is promising to help the Oil companies get a larger foot hold in Africa. Now that is a new angle I’ve not heard investigated. Obama was in Africa, helping to cause problems in Kenya — wonder where else he got to while in Africa?

Who the hell knows what Obama has promised the ones who are really funding his campaign?? We know for certain that Obama will tell one group (the voters) one thing and his financial backers something else — and foreign nations something else. One of these groups is really going to be pissed when one of these days he is going to have to show the cards in his hands.

There are so darn many ways to loot a county — GWB/Cheney have discovered the money pit — endless war. Halliburton has profited enormously. Could be the people funding Obama are pissed that GWB controlled who could loot — only those loyal to Bushie. Obama connects to Rezko who has a direct link to the Iraq mess.

ALL of this mess WE are trying to sort out — BECAUSE this lazy bum was never properly Vetted. We still don’t know who the hell he is — but I’ll bet the GOP has a pretty good idea where a whole lot of Obama’s skeletons are in that 1000 page book on Obama.

But they have created in their wisdom their own corporate viet nam, their own Afghanistan.

And maybe that was the point.

With these lil weapons, and the low intellect men to run them, they’re dead, eventually.

Ah, what was once an interesting blog has descended into the abyss of self-referential nonsense, in the grand Roy Cohn tradition.

But to the people who “wont support Obama”….are you prepared for 100 years of war in Iraq?

Larry Johnsn can keep “consulting” no matter who is in power.

Anon — Don’t be so sure that Obama is going to be the nominee. You act like its Obama and his mob of hate America thugs or McCain and his 100 year war. There is a terrific candidate out there called Hillary Clinton.

Comment by Judith | 2008-05-13 08:11:39

Ymouse,
It doesn’t matter if we vote for Obama or not. The silent majority will not vote for Obama. I suppose you’ve forgotten that we were all behind Al Gore and John Kerry.

Comment by karen for Clinton | 2008-05-13 17:59:09

First of all you believed Obama’s misquote of McCain. Go read McCain’s full quote and quit taking it out of context. (I can’t believe I am sticking up for a republican.)

Second of all you are trying to push it here as if anybody here will fall for that rubbish.

Third of all read the above article and then go read the rest of the articles in the archives.

Fourth of all, if many of the obama lemmings had read the same articles we have been reading for this past year they would be vowing to never vote for him and would be angry they were fooled by him.

Fifth of all, Bush’s war on science prevented an anti-dote to kool aid drinking or you wouldn’t be still under the hideous spell of The Precious.

Oh, you mean Congress, as it is now simply a corrupt politburo?

My god, you are stuck in the 60’s, the CUBA of intelligence driving a 46 Packard, an island of intellectual mediocrity.

You people really crack me up. West Virginia…wooohooo…yeah. Means a lot. You people are playing out a megolomaniac’s psychological projection by creating a cult that incorporates all of the ugly features of American reactionism, McCarthyism, Ann Coulter type tyrades, the notion of “hate america,” the defense of “Saudi Oil” and other such braggadocio about covert missions and Muslim Merchants. You’re like the Branch Davidians that your candidate’s husband killed, following around a guy who served with pleasure in the world’s most deadly terrorist organization, based in Virginia.

If Hillary’s the nominee, you’ll see social unrest and destroy your party for a generation. People will not “fall in line.” But she won’t be the nominee, and Larry won’t get any White House gigs.

Comment by Hope | 2008-05-13 01:44:30

Anonymous,

So Larry isn’t going to get a White House gig while you, on the other hand, with your magificent powers of political punditry will soon find yourself sitting in the halls of power with your crystal ball giving out daily psychic readings to the Washington neo-elite?

Yes, you know so much! You have surely taught us graciously. Reminding us that we are people of the American Reactionism Cult.

Thank you for giving us balance, meaning and instruction.

Now, remember the rope in the corner of the room, the one you were eyeing just before you sat down to critique our little blog, go wrap it around your skinny, putrid little snake-scaly neck and hang yourself! Have a nice time dangling pretty boy!
