The Liberals’ 666 BLOG!
By SusanUnPC on May 12, 2008 at 12:21 PM in Current Affairs
The hardest-hitting anti-Obama blog on the internet is published by a Democrat… Larry Johnson’s blog is raising eyebrows:
You will find some hard-hitting stuff about Obama over at No Quarters blog. No Quarters is operated by Democrat Larry Johnson, who has worked with the CIA and State Department on terrorism and money laundering issues. Recent posts: …
Larry is pleased. So are we all! We CAN make a difference. Now let’s roll up our sleeves and GET OUT OUR FINGERNAILS — we’ve got some dirt-diggin’ to do, folks! HERE’s HOW:
The prissy, “Oh I love Hillary” blogs ain’t gettin’ it done. The posts about Hillary on Mother’s Day are sweet, but don’t give her another single vote.
Let’s hit Obama Inc. where it hurts.
Ideas welcome! EXPRESS THEM BELOW!
GUEST POSTS ARE ALSO WELCOME.
(Caveat: Please, oh please, if you wish to write something for us, put it in a format that we can easily transfer into a blog post. Do the basic HTML code. If you need simple instructions on how to do it, e-mail me and I will explain that to you. It’s SO simple, but it makes our lives so much easier if you have a post that we can simply copy and paste and publish!)
A SUGGESTION: Some of the material out there against Obama tends to be arcane and complex. Do not get caught up in the minutae — keep it really simple! Dumb it down so it’s easy for all to understand!

no quarter
you probably already know this but
at Rezko Watch there is an article by journalist evelyn pringle entitled “curtain time for obama - part 1″.
it ain’t short - 19 html pages.
part 2 is due out tommmorrow.
I just emailed it to a dozen friends. It was on one of the last threads comments by a poster (I forget their name)
I’ve only gone through a few pages but it’s a possible fire hazard! For sure for po po BO.
I’m sorry here is the link again
It has always seemed to me that Fitzgerald had a huge bucketfull of stuff that was coming into existence and there is a reason, a strong REASON for the MSM and the O gang to declare it’s over because dates are important here. (Needs to be before the next step beyond Rezko. I don’t know the places to check on this (someone on location in Chicago is the best) but I know there’s more to come. And it’s necessary to stick to the facts of what’s coming down the pike. Only the kinds of losers like Kerry and Kennedy and Pelosi could possibly want more company in their losers club.
Is it too red hot to follow the leads that suggest O is at least a bisexual and that would explain a lot of his relationships that don’t seem to be prudent…. not prudents cause they’re not prudent. Anybody have a good handle on this? It would sure explain Wright’s eruption now wouldn’t it?
And how to verify what we all suspect: that the money is not coming from lots of charmed college students but has been repackaged from the large amounts to look that way. There was something about the look of the interior of O’s headdquarters in Chicago (maybe on ABC - maybe a 60 minute thing) but when I saw it, I didn’t see happy busy election volunteers but PAID staff that were creating something that still seems very scary to me…. and yes, facsist does come to mind.
Not much help here but some topics…..
I want to know who gave Obama 250 Million to run for the Presidency and if this money is connected to muslim organization. Cause I will never believe this all came from Moveon.org.
I think a lot of his money came from people like me and my husband. We are white, jewish, well educated professionals and we both are voting for Obama. You can do all the hate mongoring and race baiting you want and your canidate is still going to lose.
I’ll take your white Jewish well-educated professionals and raise you three for Hillary.
Damn it Nancy, take your meds, for God’s sake.
Not one of my Jewish friends (or my ex husgand) has ever used the term “Jewish” without a capital “J,” Nancy, so if you are a Jew, you are as respectful of your faith as Obama is of his nation.
Nancy:
“candidate” not canidate …
Another Jew for Obama here. Glad to see I am not the only one on this site.
Are you a Jew for terrorism, too, or just a low information voter?
Pretty highly informed, actually. I read at least 6 sources of news every day. I believe that Obama will make us safer by helping to restore our image around the world. George Bush is currently Osama bin Laden’s best recruiting tool…he uses hatred of Bush to drum up hatred of Americans and recruit people to carry out terrorist attacks. That’s why he chose to pop up right before the 2004 election, knowing it would help Bush by getting people to vote their fears. Obama, because of who he is and his approach to diplomacy, would make it harder for terrorist leaders to drum up hatred against the United States and recruit people to carry out terrorist attacks against us or our allies. So would Clinton, to some degree, although I think that the symbolic message Obama’s election would send to the world would make a bigger impact. I think that’s why he won the Democrats Abroad primaries so overwhelmingly. Either way, having a Democratic president who would make a break from Bush’s “bully the world” foreign policy would go a long way towards making us safer from terrorism, and that’s one of the reasons it’s important to me to elect a Democrat this year.
Ya think?
you think Obama is this person? roflmao!
Hey, you guys shouldn’t go making fun of low information voters. Susan’s explicitly asking you to court them in this thread. They seem to be your target audience, as well as Hillary’s. And the sort of ideas you’re tossing around seem a couple of steps below the verification level of the National Enquirer.
You’ll be sorry. Someone care to tell them why. Hint: Obama, Farakan, anti jews.
Ever wonder why Obama is so flush with money? It turns out that Penny Pritzker is running Obama’s finance campaign. She is a billionaire (inherited) and her and Obama’s families take vacations together at the billionaire’s summer vacation home.

So much so for the Obamas’ poor boy/girl from the wrong side of the tracks image
Obama is self-imploding. Hard to see him as an agent of hope and change when in reality it is politics as usual. We have his Ad man strategist, David Axelrod, to thank for. He is so good at packaging mediocre candidates and we were fooled…and some are still fooled. Let’s sit back, relax and enjoy the Obama-Michelle-Rezko-Wright song-and-dance.
It would explain MO’s bad attitude.
Perhaps she’s not getting any?
Just those 2 times to produce offspring to add to the “pretty picture” of an ALL AMERICAN FAMILY?
nahhh that would be a really bad B rated movie!
of course Ted Haggard’s story freaked me OUT for sure as well as Idaho’s Bathroom Ho (lmao) who still has a job, btw? What’s up with that???
Pringle is an excellent writer, summarizing the issues swirling around Obama so they are easy to understand, and follow.
Does that make His kids 3/4 black and 1/4 white? LOL..pshaw..she ain’t gettin any..Her husband is too busy doig Dean, Wright, and who knows who else.
Almost seems like a Hollywood production, doesn’t it?
Make it appear one way, but it’s central casting, or NOI, all the way.
Gosh, even that idiot David Geffen pays for Obama, right?
His argument against Clinton being, now wait for it — “she lies.”
BWhahahahahahahahahahahaahhaha.
The GUY is FUCKED.
By August. Convention time.
I wonder if Axlerod has the patent on how to PROJECT and play reverse psychology. Hillary knows he accuses her of everything he is guilty of. LOL
you have not done so already… cancel any news subscriptions that have been writing blatantly biased pro Obama stories while ignoring the truth…
Send a letter letting they know why you are canceling your subscription.
Next, email these crappy pundits and their bosses and tell them that they have no credibly and you will boycott them and encourage others to do so as well…
Just a few thoughts.
Journalism is business, now, as opposed to medium of truth, and balance, in service to the public.
Like the record companies, they will fail, too.
Sometimes, bad is simply bad.
Boycotting their sponsors works real well. A small group of us boycotted GE who sponsors MSNBC. Their first quarter earnings plummeted and Hillary got better treatment for a brief time. Sending sponsors emails about the boycott is effective.

Yes, she’s written a number of these. They are very long and convoluted, however, which is important for her to make her case. But someone needs to summarize the major points against Obama that she makes. Otherwise, people won’t take the time to wade through it all.
Oh, wow, I thought it was easy, sorry…
“They are very long and convoluted, however, ”
I agree.
Most people can’t wade through all that material. (A few do, but not enough.)
But we need it DISTILLED down to its most basic elements.
Short. To the point. Declarative. Without any long quotes.
Surely some among us are capable of doing that.
I completely agree. That piece was downright exhausting to read. Most people would not bother.
Hi I’m new but have been lurking for a couple months. I’d like to contribute to this project.
My working hypothesis is that BO, along with all the other one-degree separation (i.e. Rezko, murdered gay choir director, Iraqi gov’t scams) I believe Obama helps to manipulate oil prices through his involvement with Nigerian rebels who mysteriously create havoc just when oil prices stabilize.
How else can you explain this headline:
“Nigerian oil rebels considering Obama truce appeal”
(Source: Reuters 04 May 2008
http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/L04445785.htm)
And when did Obama get a job in the State Department? Anyway consider, opine, and triagulate the following:
1)Senator Obama lunches with Dick Cheney first year
2)Oil prices skyrocket due in part to demand and instability in oil regions
3)Senator Obama votes yes on energy bill written by Dick Cheney
4)Nigerian rebels attack oil fields when oil prices are ebbing
Oil currently hovering at $125 dollars per barrel.
I have no doubt that Obama Hussein (yes, that’s your middle name) Obama is the most dangerous individual without an indictment or impeachment over his head.
Even more frightening is the total silence of our so-called free press who have defacto responsibility to report these crimes to government and the people.
We need to regulate and license news organizations in this country. How hard is it to get objective neutral, fair and balance reporting?
Can Larry explain this.
If he’s connected to the oil companies, and he IS, it’s plausible, (I mean, they HIRE people to do this, those in search of Pro Serv), why wouldn’t they bribe an American politician, like they do those “leaders” of other countries? It’s tradition, and the pieces certainly fit.
Remember “confessions of an economic hitman?”
Oil companies do things like this, all that money, and no rules…
You’re probably right, sadly.
Weekend in Monte Carlo, wow, life aint nothing but a party…
The Gods Must be Crazy…
http://www.bythefault.com/2008/05/10/bumbling-for-obama-oil-gas-connections/
Interesting link…
Turns out Farrakhan’s buddy, Qaddafi, is asking for financial relief, amnesty from the families whose loved ones he murdered, petitioning congress through big oil to forgive the 6 billion he is expected to have to pay out to them.
Obama, Wright, Farrakhan, Qaddafi, and big oil advocating to weaken the victims of terrorists bill of rights…
How perfect for Congress, championing the oil companies and terrorists over their fellow American citizens.
May you all rot in hell, speaking of 666.
Auchi, and Elf Aquitaine, the largest French oil company, too, in connection with Obama, this arms dealer, known for bribing politicans, world wide…
Cripes, the list just goes on and on with this guy BHO.
How does he do all this evil without anyone in the media saying a thing?
I just don’t get it.
The big question for me this campaign is “why is ALL of the media pushing pushing pushing so hard for Obama?” The same media who pushed for Bush and the Iraq war. The same media (GE) who makes billions of dollars off wars, weapons, etc.
Have they suddenly become left-wing liberals, as most of his support is supposed to be? I don’t think so.
So what you are proposing could be a possible explanation. I have thought for a long time that he is in cahoots with big business, big energy. I do believe there is more involved, not sure what, but I think this is the question we should keep looking at. Even with McCain in the picture now, people thought these Republican stations would switch to McCain. But no, they are sticking with Obama. You don’t need any elaborate conspiracy theories (not that these are not valid) to know that something sneaky and rotten is going on .
Obama is clearly their Repub.
And I didn’t know he had lunch with Cheney. Is this usual for a Dem first-time Senator? Or for a long-time Senator or even presidential candidate, a Democrat. More weirdness.
Another odd thing. The hacking by Obamazoids. At first when they deleted an anti-Obama diary I wrote on the old Edwards website back in January I thought I was being paranoid. Now I know they play these games.
And, that reminds me of all those reports from Edwards people at Iowa caucuses who reported strangers by the busload, in rural caucuses, with Illinois license plates, all taking over caucuses, all for Obama. So it is entirely possible he stole that Iowa election. And then, of course, there’s Texas.
But back to hacking (wow, there are so many things to say, great idea, Susan), there were two websites that first opened my eyes about Obama back in January. One was by Paul Street, left-wing, who did not like Obama. He would go into where his money came from, knew numbers, but it was coming from Morgan-Stanley, Citigroup, Credit Suisse, Exelon (big connection), other Wall St. and energy companies.
The other site was A Black Agenda, by Glen Ford, an AA brilliant guy who did not like him at all, did not think he was good for AA population. I can never get that website any more - the page can’t be opened. Maybe some other servers are getting it, but I can’t. Fishy again.
Obama is not who his supporters think he is. Maybe we can get the word out.
Keep looking at the media. They want him. Why?
Yeah, all “evil” stems from big oil, I think you’re right, here, they should never have allowed themselves to think they were Jesus.
Fortunately, it would appear they’re not really bright, those oil acolytes, smell is stinky, but weak. And given they too are eating themselves to death, this isn’t really THAT bad.
Those oil guys looked so weak, so POD like, at the Seante hearings, I had to laugh.
I think they went too far, this time, maybe someone had enough.
What about Rwanda, too, the destabilization of Africa?
I mean, it’s like fighting the principality of
Texaco?
Hi Speaktruth, I share all your worries. I too feel that Obama is the corporate/mob candidate. There is too much evidence of the MSM unrelentingly hammering and trying to drive her from the race, which is unprecedented. On the other hand, Obama gets a pass on the most serious charges they’ve got -the Rezko/Auchi corruption deal. There’s a big media silence on that.
This means that either (a) Rove et al has decided Obama is the weaker candidate or, more likely in my view, considering all the evidence of Obama’s corporate and mob money backers (b) Obama is their candidate. He is a trojan horse sent to destroy and take over the Democratic Party so that there is no place left for progressives to go. They can easily suppress and ignore third parties, but if this succeeds, then, as Nader told us in 2000, both parties will be so corrupt and bought out that there will be no chance for anyone like the Clintons to come in and attempt to stop the money party. We’ll be a third world country and the middle class will die, our democracy will be gone and our government will be fully corrupt.
That’s why I’m genuinely thinking of voting for McCain. Whatever his faults and they are many and i agree with NOTHING he stands for, I still think he has the country’s well-being at heart and can be persuaded to work with Democrats and won’t be as bad as Bush NOR as bad as Obama, who will sell us out as he has sold everyone else out, including all those blacks who lived in the slum dwellings in his district while he managed to get Rezko a 25 million dollar contract to keep making sure they had no heat.
BTW –here’s the Black Agenda website address: http://www.blackagendareport.com/
Here’s another very scary article on this topic that everyone should read, even though it’s long and some of it sounds like tinfoil hat stuff. Nevertheless, a bunch of it appears true to me and it also summarizes Evelyn Pringle’s findings on Rezko/Obama et al in a much clearer and better organized way than Pringle does herself.
http://www.thecityedition.com/Pages/Archive/Winter08/2008Election.html
I was wondering how this man fits into your theory: Odinga, the Genocidal candidate– who lost an election in Kenya and is now in the process of killing those who didn’t vote for him–and who proclaims proudly that he is Obama’s cousin and that they talk often. Would this man be some kind of conduit for him in Africa? I’m sure you have seen the youtube on him. If not just google ‘youtube odinga obama’

“Larry Johnson’s blog is raising eyebrows..”
Rise eyebrows rise!
Let’s kick us some empty suit butt!
Everyone has just made me laugh my ass off these last couple of days (even the ridiculous trolls)!
Thanks to all for providing such a wonderful tonic
In the face of all the absurdity, the humor remains. You are all a blessing!
So what do you want then Susan?
Larry’s site is “hardest-hitting” (along with his good friend Taylor Marsh’s) because both give their readers the unvarnished truth! No O’Juice necessary.
I bet for a lot of mamby pambys out there it is doing more than raising eyebrows! They must be having nightmares reading some of your posts! LOL.
This is a fantastic site. This is one of the only places on the net where one can actually speak one’s mind without fear or reprisal or intimidation from others. Even though we get our share of trolls here, I’ve never been silenced and I can honestly say that is surprising considering some of the statements I make which are pretty harsh.
Thank you Susan and Larry and all the others who write such great expose!.
GO LARRY! GO LARRY! GO LARRY!
Ok, I’ll submit something about Obama shortly.
In the meantime, it is important to be active everyone:
-Write all newspapers in upcoming events and express why you want Hillary.
-Continue writing superdelegates and go ahead and spout off at the DNC website. I like to vent there on occasion.
-Sign or MAKE petitions pro-Hillary/ anti-Obama. Go to Hillary Clinton. com and sign HER petition on counting MI and FL.
-Contribute money to Hillary Clinton. com.
-Go to No Quarter, and then turn to the Rezko Watch blog: check out the Best Blogs list on lower right hand side, and then foward all the best blogs to mainstream media and mother media lists. Here is one to start: Fair Media: http://www.fair.org/index.php?page=111
-To ALL bloggers and commentators, come up with an easy article today, and submit it to No Quarter and again to all newspapers and MSM.
-Make phone calls for Hillary–contact those West Virginians today.
-START YOUR OWN BLOG about how you want Hillary/ do not want Obama.
-If you are in WV, go make signs and get those cars to honk, and knock on those doors tomorrow and get those people to the voting polls.
Great reminder list, Kat. Thanks!
Why is the “anti-war candidate” up to his ass in Crown family contributions? Why is a Crown family member a member of his campaign team? General Dynamics doesn’t make plowshares, after all. Their business is WAR….and business is good.
It never made sense to me, how the supposed Peacenik Candidate could take hundreds of thousands of dollars over the years from those people.
And no one mentions it. They’d much rather make some cheesy sexist commentary about Senator Clinton.
We will need more weaponry when barry reverses the direction of the fire over in the middle east. Hamas says they can wait.
Search No Quarter for the Crown family, and you will find a LOT. We have covered them many times — Obama screwed the Maytag workers just to make the Crowns happy, and now he’s reaping the benefits through their huge donations to his campaign.
So this looks more and more like a takeover of the country by the media.
The gist of everything they say is that voters do not matter.
CNN is on now. They are trying to say Clinton supporters are all racist. Good spin. Instead of Obama supporters are racist and that is how he won certain key states that DNC placed first.
Democrat party does not speak for me if they let Obama steal this nomination. I see no future for Hillary in that party. They will try to push her out. I am so sick of the media telling lies lies lies about the campaign. As if it is only about her and not the voters. And how much they seem to hate all the women who support her.
Time for a third party for her to run on. One that also includes all the women who seem to have no voice in this country - at least not one that counts. I truly believe that she can beat Obama and McCain. Show them that women do count. Let the voters decide - instead of the media.
Ew, Crown.
What’s that whiskey Crown 7?
Guy spilled it yesterday, outside the liquor store near my house.
Stinky stuff, my Dad would use it, or Jim Beam, for our toothaches when I was little, then the dentist told him to stop…
GO LARRY
GO LARRY
GO HILL FANS
This is the best blog on the internet, IMHO. It’s the only place I can come to where no one apologizes for disclosing the obvious threat that Obama is to this country. I heart NoQuarter.
I’ve had an idea for a short piece about how it’s actually racist to treat African-Americans with kid gloves, because this implies they are less than equal. Think, “Remember the Titans” when Denzel Washington tells the white coach, who has been coddling African American players, “You’re crippling them, you’re crippling them for life!”.
That’s what Rev. Wright has done, and what Obama’s campaign is doing.
Interested in this piece, or do you think it’s too fluffy? (after all, it is time for real DIRT on Obama to keep coming out).
Hate sells. It bought Rev. Wright a 10,000 sq.ft. house in the White neighborhood of Tinley Park. I guess when Wright is off duty he prefers to hang with his tormentors. The new Reverend is following closely in his footsteps.
You know what they say about Stockholm syndrome, and beaten wives…
It does, BUT, these folks will call your attempt to rationalize that as “symbolic racism”. This is a term political scientists are throwing around like a hot potato (which can explain for the insistent look at race in the media with Obama, as they gobble up this stuff from “experts”).
This is the type of stuff they’re teaching kids in college now. That if you believe in the “pull yourself up with your bootstraps” concept it’s called “symbolic racism” as it’s a form of systemic “oppression” of those of color (ah, just ask Asians if it’s “oppressive” — oops, “of color” really means Black people).
More terms, more ideas, more poppycock. Yet another form of diversion to keep from answering a problem, so some group or entity can still be in “business”.
Susan I think it is important to continue to connect ( with yourand Larry’s expertise ) Obama’s connection to hreats to our national security and those involved with both the money and the formation of policy…I posted this on another comment but I think it bares consideration….
” …We are going to see increasing efforts by the Islamic world to ( win the hearts and minds ) of the American People..Since Muslaims have the financial capability, and a growing appreciation of the importance of public opinion in the West….There will be tremendous investment by Islamic states in all forms of intervention in american society….From the hiring of public relations firms

Heck they are ALREADY investing heavily ….in Obama.
I KNOW THIS WAS WRITTEN IN 1980….AND IN CHICAGO….I JUST FOUND IT THIS MORNING AND I WENT…..WOW….
You know, Deep Truths made an excellent point, though perhaps inadvertently: the oil companies.
Lynch pin, here, the root of all eveil?
MY goodness, my sister would rail about them when I was a child, first words out of my mouth were probably “Shell Oil is destroying America” but I figured as I reached the age of reason it was just vietnam hyperbole.
Guess she was right.
BO=Big Oil=Barry Obama=Body Order=Bill O’Reilly.

I just want to know where are the worst Obama sites that allow posting (I can’t post at DK, though)? I’m best when surrounded 20:1, and with posters who just won’t stop wanting to be meat puppets. }:>
Preferably at more neutral sites that allow not just Dem posting (to avoid being banned in 10 minutes), although I’ll post anywhere that can help Hillary.
Blogs or forums name it!

Posted there years ago. Almost no commentary but canned speeches now. Some patently offensive (conservatives don’t have to make up stuff about liberals hating the military) with stuff like this…
My mom is from Hokkaido, and after reading that, if I post I’ll tear down the house. That’s the Commie Red Brigade BS rhetoric that dumb fucking poster is reposting on that thread. They’re behind most of those protests in Japan, and it’s cousin, in South Korea. Wherever those damn Commies go they want to destablize the government.
Next place? Hopefully one that has live breathing commentators?
A troll gave out one today that might be of interest to you, something like http://www.reddit.com.
It’s a RSS depository. So followed a link to DU. That place went from actual posts with educated comments, to now, one-liners expected from a comedy show.
Is this the “hope” that Obamatics have for the DP? To spam a site with giggles enough to turn it into SNL?
Oops, just saw the call to, “post this on Kos”. Okay, explains things (birds flock together).
No wonder why the Obamatics don’t want to think about messy policies — they’re too busy being baffoons.
We need to explain what Black Liberation Theology means. Obama and Mrs. Misery along with Reverend Wright believe in this. Its a concept in which Politics and Religion are one. Its very scary although I have had a hard time finding out much about it.
You can read all you want about LIBERATION THEOLOGY ineither the Catholic Encyclopedia or The Concise History of the Catholic Church. This is the Foundational Philosophy. It swept through Latin America in the 1970’s and 1980’s. It is political/religous and promotes MARXIST SOLOUTIONS TO SOCIAL PROBLEMS…IT IS MILITANT…
ADD TO THAT THE POLITICAL/RACIAL PHILOSOPHY AND YOU HAVE BLACK LIBERATION THEOLOGY….
LIBERATION THEOLOGY = MARXISM + CHISTIAN HERESY + MILITANCY
BLACK LIBERATION THEOLOGY = MARXISM + CHRISTIAN HERESY + BLACK SEPARATISM + FASCIST RACIAL SUPREMACY….
CONE IS THE ARCHITECT OF BLACK LIBERATION THEOLOGY = TO AFRICAN AMERICAN TALIBAN IN THAT THERE IS NO SEPARATION OF POLITICS AND RELIGION…..
Yes…and Cone..The Author of Black liberation Theology was asked which Church most represented His Theology and he said Minister Wrights… that

The Clinton Talking Points
by Transplanted Texan, Sun May 11, 2008 at 05:07:28 PM EST
I whole-heartedly agree with Jerome’s point in yesterday’s “Deal With Defeat”, but I don’t think he took it far enough. Yes, Obama supporters should be prepared to lose West Virginia (as well as Kentucky), but so too should Clinton supporters be prepared to lose the nomination.
Jerome is right. Clinton is going to do well in West Virginia, and blindly accusing that state of racism doesn’t make any more sense than blindly accusing North Carolina of sexism. Truth be told, this is one Obama voter who is happy to see Clinton pushing hard in WV and Kentucky. Assuming both candidates are capable of running positive campaigns, I welcome sending them to states Romney and Giuliani didn’t even dream about. We are registering millions of new Democratic voters, and if Obama and Clinton can focus on McCain rather than on each other, the remaining primaries will be wonderful opportunities for our party.
But even if Clinton wins landslides in WV and KY, this nomination seems just about locked up. As far back as March 21, Clinton advisers were privately putting their chances at a mere 10 percent. If it was just 10% all the way back then, what is it now that North Carolina and Indiana have spoken and the superdelegates have turned?
I am sympathetic for Clinton’s supporters. I’ve been on the losing side myself - Howard Dean and John Edwards in 2004, and Joe Biden in 2008. There’s a reason I call myself an Obama voter rather than an Obama supporter. It hurts, but reality is reality, and none of the remaining Clinton talking points make sense. You’ve heard most of the arguments before, but I’d like to sum them up in one post.
Clinton will win the popular vote once MI and FL are settled: There are three things wrong with this argument. First of all, it assumes that not a single person in all of Michigan supports Obama. Real Clear Politics has Obama up by about 846,801 without those two states and up 113,498 with them, but that latter figure does not give Obama any of Michigan’s “uncommitted” vote. If you’re determined to count every vote, you certainly can’t ignore a full 200,000 voters. Second, the results of those two states are in no way reflective of this campaign. If my memory is correct, Indiana is the only state where both candidates have aggressively campaigned and Clinton’s lead has not narrowed (or disappeared altogether). This pattern would no doubt have held in MI and FL, where no campaigning took place and Obama’s name recognition had not yet taken off. A true reflection of those state’s sentiments would certainly lean towards Clinton, but probably by a narrower margin. And third, even if you assume Edwards did as well as Obama and award him only half MI’s uncommitted vote, he still picks up 119,084 votes and leads Clinton by well over 250,000. Do we really think that WV and KY will net her that many votes? To put it in perspective, Pennsylvania didn’t, and it has a larger population than KY, WV, and PR combined. Throw in Oregon, Montana, and South Dakota, and I can’t see Clinton catching up.
Clinton is more electable because of the big states: As before, there are three things wrong with this argument. First of all, it’s just silly to claim no Democrat can win the White House without Ohio, Pennsylvania, or Florida. If you want to bind us to the electoral map of 2000 and 2004 for the rest of time, perhaps you’d have a point, but the map has changed before and it will change again. Obama took swing states like Colorado, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Virginia, and North Carolina, and he’s likely to take Oregon. These swing states matter, too. The second problem with this argument is it contradicts any notion that the popular vote matters. If you want to argue for the popular vote model, you can’t obsess about Ohio and Florida while ignoring Louisiana, Idaho, and Mississippi. The Clintonistas are trying to have it both ways. Finally, primaries test only the Democratic electorate, and so hardly predict general election results - does anyone really expect Clinton to win Tennessee in November by 13 points, or McCain to swamp California? By this logic, Bill Clinton should have lost New Hampshire in 1992 and John Kerry should have won Iowa in 2004.
Clinton is more electable because of Obama’s scandals: It’s certainly true that the Jeremiah Wright scandal received more coverage than the sniper fire story, and that Obama’s “bitter” comments dwarfed Clinton’s elitist inability to pump gas. The last few months, however, are hardly the standard by which to gauge coverage of the coming election. Obama had the decency not to bring up Whitewater, the 1994 health care debacle, or the candidate’s spouse’s extra-marital affairs, but the Republicans won’t be so kind. Yes, Clinton can argue that those scandals are old news, but that won’t matter as long as they are THE news. I guarantee that Republicans will harp on her past as much as they will Obama’s, reminding voters what they didn’t like about the 1990s. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not claiming this is a good thing or that it helps Obama; I offer this only as a counter to the Clintons’ talking point. The Wright scandal and “bitter” remarks are certainly powerful, just no more so than the equally unfair coverage Clinton will receive.
Clinton is more electable because Obama can’t close the deal: Of all the Clinton talking points, this is the one I am probably the most sick of. Thank God it has largely faded since NC. As recently as February, Clinton had a 20-point lead in national polls; today, Obama leads by 2. A year ago, he was an afterthought and she was inevitable - yet we’re supposed to believe that because he can only gain 22 points and become only a slight frontrunner, he’s not good enough? How exactly is this an argument for someone who LOST 22 points? Isn’t Senator Inevitable the one who can’t close the deal against the young upstart? The latest reincarnation of this argument is that a frontrunner should be able to win WV and KY - perhaps, although I wasn’t aware they’d changed the definition of “frontrunner” to “the candidate who wins every single state.”
I don’t want Clinton to drop out. Unlike some of Obama’s other voters, I don’t despise her; she’s done impressive things in New York and Washington. I do, however, want her to apologize for implying that the superdelegates should take African Americans for granted, but once she’s done that, I’m thrilled to have her go on to WV and KY and register thousands of new voters. This race should be settled on June 5, not May 11 - but just as Jerome wants Obama supporters to be cool about WV, so too should Clinton supporters be cool about the popular vote, the pledged delegate lead, the superdelegate lead, and the Michigan uncommitteds. Last year we kept talking about our abundance of riches and our wonderful slate of candidates. That’s still true, folks. These are the same people we had running last year, with the same potential.
Does your candidate have 2209 delegates? If he did, the media is hiding that fact very well.
Boy, did you come to the wrong website to try that out. It don’t work here.
Susan,
Back in February, you posted a piece from Debbie Schlussel’s blog, which claimed that Obama had at least one NOI member (Jennifer Mason) on his Senate staff. At one point, you challenged people to check out the accuracy of the statement. Did anyone do so?

Does Obama have NOI members on his staff, or surrogates?
I just read this on the home page of my Road Runner service: Obama is going to start campaigning in Michigan and Florida. In the next few days he hits Michigan, and then starting on May 21st he will hit Florida, making stops in Tampa, Orlando, Plam Beach County and Miami, says the story.
