THE HIGH-BROW DISCUSSION:
The LOW-BROW:
I can’t wait for the Obamabots to see that I called Hannity’s panel the “high-brow” group — but it was a very intelligent, on-the-mark discussion of the meaning of last night’s victory as well as the meanings of the exit polling.

Clinton Extends Her Lead Among Congressional Districts!
Hillary Clinton experienced a better than expected election result in West Virginia last night. Most polling sources and pundits expected a 25-30 point victory in West Virginia, along with a pickup of around 100,000 popular votes. At the end of the night, however, Clinton won in resounding fashion picking up well over 140,000 popular votes in a 41 point victory.
More importantly, however, is a number the Obama campaign and many media outlets haven’t discussed: Clinton has now won the popular vote in 195 US Congressional Districts. That number is important because of the relative equality of each congressional district. This number is important because too date Barack Obama has only won the popular vote in 187 congressional districts. If you include Florida & Michigan’s 2.3 million voters who showed up in record numbers on Election Day despite being disenfranchised, the congressional district victories look like this:
Clinton – 227 Congressional Districts
Obama – 195 Congressional Districts

I totally loved the Red State guys.
Interesting admissions from Dick Morris.
Thanks for these two beauts, Susan. The Red State vid is hilarious! I love all the beer cans, and “You ain’t no damn dirt farmer!” And we have a new name for Camp BO now: RAT BOAT!
Dick Morris has certainly changed his high-pitched tune, hasn’t he? He says people are questioning BO’s patriotism, which they certainly should. For me, that is the crux of the matter, really. When you stay in an anti-American church for 20 years, that’s the first thing that should be questioned.
And, man, Hillary looked great! Red-orange really suits her.
My favorite stat? 57% OF BO’S PEOPLE WANT THE RACE TO CONTINUE!!! What does that say? That they still need to be convinced that he’s got what it takes, is what it says to me. More and more people are finding out that, sadly, tragically, he doesn’t.
Barack Hussein Obama needs to step down now, and stop wasting this country’s precious time. He and his family need to go into therapy, or an anti-cult program or something, and maybe they’ll get back on track. He should take some fish oil pills, to perhaps get some of his brain power back, if indeed he ever had it.
Donate to Hillary if you can - we’re in the home stretch!!!
Yes, the Dick Morris admissions were astounding to me.
Kentucky polls are very close to WVA….26 pt lead today. One poll in Oregon has him up by 20 and another by 11.
If she could turn Oregon close, I’m convinced she win the nomination, delegate count or not.
Yes, the Dick Morris admissions were astounding to me
I know; normally, I have to mute him from beginning to end. The idjit still had to say that it was Hillary’s fault that all the negative stuff came out about BO. Yeah, it certainly couldn’t be, I don’t know, OBOMBA’S fault :-b!
Yes! How do we sink the RAT BOAT?
Oregon is making me embarrassed to say I live in the Pacific Northwest …. but they’ve always been nutty in the way they vote. I don’t know what we can do about them.
we should run those safety and national security ads on the weekend
Show them the low brow analysis! or even the high-brow. But something tells me that they won’t go near either. They think they know better. Rats!
Just the white liberal vote, I would guess. A lot of those voters are entirely too busy to pay close attention to the race.
I have friends in that group who honestly thought Hillary’s healthcare plan would require them to give up their insurance plans; i.e., single-payer plan run by the government.
It’s instructive to remember that not everyone is obsessed.
“Rats is stupid.”
LMAO.
Thank you for that low brow vid…and please let me take this opportunity to say thank you to Larry and Susan and anyone else who has anything to do with making this site a great place to visit and learn. I appreciate you all and I’m very glad you’re here.
Gosh, that is funny, Obama is getting rat boated.
“Rat boated.” Betty, you are a riot!
“rat boated” I love it!! Forget the Swiftboating.. ratboating is much more apt.
I heart No Quarter. Thank you for another great post! You are the best blog on the internet!
Obama is getting rat boated, LOL!
By the way, I’m a white liberal, an attorney from the liberal land of Massachusetts, and I am so not ever going to pull any lever for Obama, unless it’s to put him in jail.
How about getting rid of your two
ratssenators?Oh, I hope we do! After they endorsed Obama, many of us let them know we will support their opponents. I’m certainly not voting for either of them again. They are rats on a sinking boat!
Margaret, you sound like you are similar to much of the demographic on Oregon - white, educated, etc. I’m going to look into what we can do to sway this pivotal state. What would you say is the most important consideration in your not liking Obama?
Talktruth,
Hmm, the most important consideration in my not liking Obama. Let’s see. I disliked him from the moment he announced. Hillary had paid her dues with 8 years in the Senate, and it was her time to run. She helped him get elected to the U.S. Senate for crying out loud, and he stabbed her in the back. Reminds me of my own experiences in the workplace, where someone takes credit for your work, demeans you, and tries to crush you so you’ll quit - so they can have all the glory. Women in the workplace know this dynamic all too well. Work yourself to the bone and someone younger and less qualified gets the promotion…
So, basically, I think he’s a sexist A@#%(#e.
I’m inserting a letter I sent to DNC yesterday (Dean, Pelosi and Brazile) which sums it up. Have to go a meeting now but will check back to this thread later to see if I can help anymore…
By the way, I may be unique in my demographic for my utter lack of white guilt… I was excoriated in law school for this. In my experience, black men with chips on their shoulders don’t want equality, they want supremacy over women of all races. Cries of racism mask the real issue of sexism among black men, IMHO - Obama’s campaign being a prime example of this.
May 13, 2008
Dear Ms. Brazile:
Today the people of West Virginia are going to the polls, but BarackObama shows no respect for them. Instead, he smugly plans his victoryannouncement for May 20th, as if all he needs to be pronounced King isthe sound of his own voice and the moans and elations of his throngs ofdevotees. Well, I am not looking for a Messiah or a King of any kind.I am looking for a President, and Barack Obama is not it.
Obama has engaged in the worst kind of sex-based hate, and his followers have marched along with him to the same drum. If any in the Democratic Party believe that women are obediently going to “fall in line” after being subjected to months of gender-based assaults, they are deluded.
I will do whatever is necessary to keep Barack Obama out of office, including donating to and campaigning for John McCain. I do not want a President who thinks agitating hate against over half the country’s citizens is some sort of legitimate platform. From my days as a legal advocate for abused women I know that public, verbal assaults against women lead to increases in real violence. Barack Obama has started a gender war. He is dividing the Democratic Party, and I, forone, will stand in the way of his dividing the United States of America. The women of this country deserve to have a President who respects them.
One day I looked at the comments section at one of the blogs I frequent. There was an animation of Hillary Clinton with her mouth wide open andmaking a sucking motion. The caption for this animation was “Suck it”. I was so distraught and enraged after seeing that, I sent $100 toHillary. Come November, I will remember that this is how Obama “inspired” people. I will remember that the Democratic Party stood by and did nothing about these constant assaults, and in some cases instigated their own vile attacks. I will remember that women’s civil rights and personal safety are in peril if Obama sees the Oval Office.
And if any think the threat of Roe v. Wade will send all women to pull the lever for Barack Obama, then they underestimate our rage at being subjected to daily assaults on our dignity by the media, the DNC, Obama, and his surrogates and supporters during this campaign. Furthermore, who exactly will Barack Obama put on the Supreme Court? I trust him about as much as I trust any self-serving egomaniac - not at all. We women, we’ve had personal experiences with men of Barack Obama’s ilk,and we are unswayed by his “charms”. His gyrations may send the female press swooning, but some of us, we have seen it all before, and we know where it leads. He’ll get what he wants from us, then cast us aside and trample on our rights.
The Democratic Party participates in the denigration of women at it’sown peril. After being attacked all these months, let me tell you, we’ll have our answer ready in November. And, if necessary, that answer will be John McCain. Who, by the way, at least loves his country. We know who he is, and we may not like what he’ll do, but we know he is a man of good character, not a boy in an empty suit who will destroy anything and anyone to get what he wants.
Sincerely,
A latte-drinking liberal attorney from Somerville MA
Thanks so much, Margaret. And that’ a great letter. I’m going to create a document for these, and keep on looking into what makes Oregon latte liberals tick. The fact that he’s a sexist pig seems to resonate with many women, and men, across the country. An on-the-money post like this can definitely change people’s minds from Barama to Hillary, especially if sexism is their hot-button issue!
I’m not Margaret, but I fit the demographic. I despair that my state is not going to sink Obama. I had to do my own research as liberal blogs did not. Personally, my most important consideration is that I think he is dishonest - a closet Republican and friend of bankers, oilmen and defense contractors. My liberal friends never got past the image of him as a black savior to redeem the hash bush made out of our country.
Our county just went blue, and I’m guessing most of these crossover republicans are for Obama. They have been so brainwashed with all those years of Clinton hate that I don’t think there’s any point in trying to reach them.
The Clintons have both shown more familiarity with local issues than Obama. But there’s one hot button that’s been overlooked. We’re very proud of our death with dignity law, and have defended it from conservative attacks. Clinton needs an Oregon ad showing Obama going Republican on the Terri Shiavo fiasco.
Oregon prides itself on being independent. I wish they’d show the media that they can think for themselves.
And hurry. We’ve had our ballots for days already. Vote by mail means few wait for election day. Many will fill out their ballots this weekend.
Thanks, Bubba. That’s really interesting. BO definitely doesn’t agree with “Honesty is the best policy.” And the point on Terri Schaivo is well-taken. I wonder if the Clinton campaign might think that was too much of a touchy subject, because I was thinking of suggesting it via http://www.hillaryclinton.com.
I’ve heard that Oregonians do pride themselves on independence. But is it, for some groups, the kind of independence that sometimes drives one to join the bandwagon that believes they’re “thinking differently”?
At any rate, this is all very valuable info, and I’ll add it to my file - thanks!
Red state- Hillary cant win she is losing, but how could she be losing when she is winning. OMG that was so funny!!!!
Yeah, also rats scurrying from a sinking ship, but the ship is ain’t sinking.. That video is hilarious — satire and ridicule, two weapons aimed at the RATS.
RAT BOAT!?!?!?!?
hahahahahahahahaaaa
Oh my goodness …. that was so true!
Note to Ted Kennedy - your state went for Hillary, so your superdelegate vote should as well, rat-boy!
Rat boat indeed. How can the SD justify giving, yes giving, this nomination to BO after his campaign has virtually divided the Democratic party in two by racking up delegates in red caucus states and hijacking the AA vote by virtue of his skin color? And how is this “change” and “unity” going to win the presidency? They must be thinking the Republican brand is so badly damaged they could put another Alfred E. Neuman in the White House and operate the country from the comfort of their living rooms. If there’s one thing we should have learned by now is that if you’re baffled by a completely illogical situation, the answer always boils down to money, and therefore, power. Could it be that Hillary and Bill won’t play the puppet game, they don’t need the money, and they really do care about this country and its citizens?
I had successfully avoided having to ever listen to Dick Morris.. until this morning. He definitely made some interesting admissions.. HOWEVER.. he uses that Obama doublespeak by saying that it’s Hillary’s fault that the info on Wright, Ayers, Michelle, and Bittergate, came out. “Negative research”? Hey Dick, it’s not our fault your candidate has a shady past, a confused present, and murky future. Don’t try and pin that on Hillary!
The Red State Update clip should be required viewing for all Democratic voters. I think it manages to sum everything up so much better than hours and hours of talking heads in Italian suits. Send that clip far and wide, folks.
I noticed that silly remark, too. Like she didn’t know about Wright? LOL*
Who does he think he’s kidding.
Hillary never released the Wright stuff. That’s obvious.
But he’s an idiot in that he completely underestimates the average person to know BS when they hear it.
Oh.. and sometimes it dawns on me, like when I’m watching that funny video, that Hillary keeps winning and winning, and how is it exactly that Obama is considered the presumptive nominee??
No.. seriously. I’m trying to wrap my head around a Party that has a candidate that’s won Ohio, PA, Calif, NY, NJ, Tenn, Ark, TX, FL, Michigan, WV, Indiana, NM, Mass., (did I miss any?) and is being told forcefully to get out of the race? What is wrong with this picture, folks???
Oh. and a Nedra Pickler (AP) story today said that Obama picked up “30 $uper Delegates this week” overshadowing Hillary’s 28 delegates from WV. He got 30 SDs this week??? Did I miss something? What is wrong with those SDs?
What was interesting to me is the honest and trustworthy percentages, 50 something thinking he is not. This is no accident. Here were his people calling everybody to stay home and the race is over and then you see on TV, clips of him saying he is not the nominee yet,.. People catch on to these kinds of shenanigans. What is heartening is she won his demographics, under 30 and affluent and so on decisively.
Yes, it took awhile for the real voter reaction to the Wright smoke and mirrors story to catch up.
That’s all that happening. People finally figured out that sniper fire was an ego gaffe, while Wright was a flat-out manipulation of people and a big flipping lie.
He’s done.
You guys are going to love this! From lambert over at correntewire:

It’s called “Code Green: Tantrum Mode.”
We are guaranteed to lose if my Party, the Democratic Party, nominates Obama. And yes, it is MY Party.
The Red State Update was hilarious. So whichever one gets the most rats in boat wins? That sounds about right.
i posted this at hill44 too
these r questions for anyone to ask obama when he comes to ur states
1. mr obama , pls name 57 states of usa
2,mr obama, why r u offended by ur middle name HUSSIEN
3.mr obama ,when can we come to see ur house to determine if michelle is running her house good or not since its according to her thats the main qualification of a president to be
4, mr obama ,so when did the black america woke up as mrs obama had predicted
5,mr obama , did u finish ur waffles???
5.what about ur wife ,why she is always bitter???
is that why she and you clinged to PASTOR WRIGHT???
6.“Senator Obama, why did you throw your grandmother under the bus during your speech on race? Why was she just a ‘typical white American’ to you?”
I like the lowbrow version. Being an dumb, rural, racist hick what would I know?
This from savagepolitics:
I saw this at TM in the comments section from a commenter. I feel we need to do something big before the DNC and other elites take this election away from us completely. Susan and others, what can we do and how can we do it?
You may want to read the rest of the article at savagepolitics for an accurate analysis.
It makes me laugh at all the original assumptions Obama has made and has now had to back away from.
1. His voters won’t vote for Hillary but hers will vote for him. New polls show the opposite.
2. He felt if he won the nomination he wouldn’t have to name her but if she won she would have to name him on the ticket. Not true now. It appears he is doomed unless he names her and can attract her voters that he mocked and insulted. He acted like he could win with out whites, women, seniors, hispanics, asians, blue collar workers and the less educated. What fool would have made those assumptions?
3. He could transcend race…no need to go there
4. He could just forget about getting the nomination and go straight to the General Election and pretend he has it wrapped up and force Clinton to drop out. Oops, had to go to WV.
5. His speech on race was all that was needed to make people forget about Rev Wright.
6. that women would not mind if he used sexist terms and insulted women, seniors, and those who were not the wealthy elite numbskulls. OOPS….A really BIG OOPS.
7. A speech is the same thing as actually doing something. And when questioned about anything, just respond that you gave a speech about that. Guess he can’t back away from that because that is all he has…a speech.
8. He has brought so many new voters into the race that….they don’t vote for him? Do I understand the logic the Obamaloons use? Where are all these voters?
9. People don’t care about his associates who are suspected of strange terrorist ties….so Obama just lies about his associations because he can’t explain
10. It is perfectly alright to insult groups of people whom you will need to win in the General Election…OOPS I guess Obama has some work to do to fool those groups to support Obama for the GE.
I suggest that BHO that should you try to run for president again, because I am sure you’re going to lose this one, change your name to BARRY ANN DUNHAM in honor of that side of your heritage that have sacrificed so much for you. Not that alcoholic Kenyan swine father of yours who abandoned you! And try to do a Michael Jackson thing kind of physical transformation to go with the new personality.
I haven’t seen these Red State guys before, but I clicked on their YouTube site for the video. I thought it was hysterical. Many comments seemed to interpret them as serious, so I had to add my own: You were linked on a blog–but, uhh, I think this is pro-Hillary political humor, right? Great commentary on The Media, the DNC numbers game, how people have warmed up to Hillary as she and they got better, and the rats with ‘herd’ mentality. You called it. Faannn-tas-tic! http://ladyboomernyc.wordpress.com
Did you see Donna I’m ubiased Brazile made another really helpful post last night, surprise it is all Hillarys fault, unite around the One http://www.donnabrazile.com/viewNews.cfm?id=273
if you want to reply to this Donna posted in on the online Philly news http://www.phillyburbs.com/pb-dyn/news/319-05122008-1532641.html
I’m sure she would love to read your thoughts and for her to know many others are reading them too. BE nice (ish) so they can get posted, I have to calm down first
ROFLMAO!! OMG HOW DID I MISS THIS?
LMAO!! @ RAT BOAT!! HAhahahaha!
Hope a lot of people show up in Grand Rapids, Michigan to protest Obama’s visit. I’m deeply offended that he would visit our state before our voting issues have been resolved given he and his supporters (yes Donna Brazille that’d be you) have blocked our right to have our votes counted as legally certified by our Secretary of State. Obama even voluntarily asked to have his name removed from our ballots even though he only agreed with others simply not to campaign here. Michigan will go to McCain if Obama is on the ticket. We won’t forget how he and his DNC supporters have tried to violate our civil rights!! Thanks for this blog and I loved the Low Brow video.
Whoever thought something so ridiculous could make so much sense.
“How can she be losing if she keeps winning?” Would make a great t-shirt or bumper sticker.
