Well thought out points
The writer is right, all votes should count. Didn’t we all grow up hearing every vote count.

Lets hope before it’s to late that the DNC remembers that.

I know that there are some good people on the DNC who believe as we do lets hope they can make our point to the rest of the DNC (who want the Repulicans to win in November) that every vote counts and seat the Fl. and MI delegates

The Rules and Bylaws committee has thirty members, twelve of whom have openly supported Senator Clinton.

Of those thirty members, one member of the committee provided the sole dissenting vote on the question. Allan Katz. Furthermore, and I know this might possibly make your head explode, Allan Katz is an Obama supporter.

I agree. It should have been resolved long ago. The leadership of the FDP, instead, decided to threaten a lawsuit against the DNC and run a media campaign against Howard Dean. That’s probably not what the Rules and Bylaws Committee meant by “good faith effort”.

The verdict of the committee was given in August 25th, 2007. That was five months before Florida held it’s illegitimate primary. To say that this was a plan to stick it to Senator Clinton is the height of paranoid conspiracism.

And no, she never came up with the entire amount. A spokesman for the Florida Department of State said it would cost upwards of 20 million to hold a revote, and that was back in March. Estimates from the Michigan state government would place the cost of a revote there at 10 million.

Even if Sen. Clinton’s campaign had the funds, the FDP chairwoman acknowledged, back in March when this co-funded revote idea was being tossed around, that such a revote would be logistically impossible.

Punish, fine. This complete disenfranchisement is clearly a political insider hit job on Hillary, and the public knows it.

I recall, btw, that Hillary came up with the entire amount to fund MI revote.

Obama, who had decent polls, still turned it down.

You’re leaving something out that’s extraordinarily important: Funding. The FDP has refused to fund a revote, as has the DNC. Sen. Clinton’s campaign surrogates came up with the idea of a jointly funded revote, which was turned down. That is not actively scuttling revote efforts, especially when the chairwoman of the FDP claimed that a revote was, for practical purposes, impossible.

Further, tone it down with the paranoid conspiracism. I didn’t claim that Obama held some “Democratic purity”, whatever that’s supposed to mean. This situation is ultimately a function of rules, not political personalities.
