My local newspaper (Syracuse, NY Post-Standard)…full blown Obama love fest…Now all be good Germans…oops I mean Democrats & vote for Obama in Nov. They even used Hillary’s “speech” (Coerced to say the least) yesterday as a propaganda tool to entice voters for the anointed one. Their headline with her picture…”Clinton: Work for Obama like you worked for me”, which she did not say in that context. It will be a VERY, VERY cold day in HELL before I do that.

Dear Fellow Democrats;

We have always been a nice and respecting group of folks, and yet something is left well sort of selfishly done and that is inexcusable and shows very low class. During the Primary season, Senator Barack H. Obama called out for Republicans to become Democrats for a day.

Now we being good people in the Democratic Party, have left this favor undone and not yet returned. Is it not our duty as fair-minded people to prepay the services given by Senator Barack H. Obama’s request and fulfillment by Republicans to some form of repayment?

So therefore knowing how selfish Senator Barack H. Obama is, it is our rightful duty as Democrats to repay the favor bestowed upon us by becoming Republicans for a day. The suggested day to repay this favor is in November, well actually November the 4th to be precise.

Now let’s show not only the country but the world that Democrats return favors in 10 fold, as a gesture of good will and harmony between people! Show our children that a favor never goes unreturned.

So following Senator Barack H. Obama’s many passionate pleas for Republicans to be Democrats for a day, show the Democratic spirit and become a Republicans on November 4th, 2008! You doing so is also a goodthing and allows you to do so guilt free!

This we have Barack H. Obama to be thankful for!

The GOP was kind enough to nominate a guy who is practically a Democrat anyway. Kerry wanted him on his ticket in 2004, and now the VP nominee in 2000 is endorsing him.

Oy vey!

Comment by Kevinole | 2008-06-08 13:54:14

I don’t want to get mixed up in the animus that exists between many Clinton supporters and Obama supporters. However, as someone who has been actively engaged in written debates with right-wing extremists for a number of years, I can’t help but notice that, while many of the posts on this site are clearly written by disaffected Clinton supporters, many others are, just as clearly, written by radical conservatives posing as disaffected Clinton supporters (I think this is part of what members of the conservative media call “Operation Chaos”.)

Neocons posing as liberals write in what is, I think, an instantly recognizable way. They don’t understand that we don’t fall for the same things that they fall for and they aren’t very clever in their attempts to be clever.

This post is a classic example.

Here are the things that threw up red flags for me:

1) The author repeatedly pointing out that he/she is a Democrat, as if to convice the reader of that fact in order to give themselves credibility. This is a common tactic.

2) The constant use of “Barack H. Obama”, reminding us that Obama’s middle name is “Hussein”. This is apparently a big deal in conservative circles, but I have yet to meet a self-respecting liberal who really gives a damn about it.

3) The author tries too hard to use buzzwords and terms culled from some sort of neocon caricature of Democrats; such as “selfishly” (liberals can’t tolerate selfishness), “low class” (libs are all elitists, right?) and “fair-minded” (God help all of us liberals if we’re not viewed as fair!)

3) The not-so-clever attempt to convince disaffected Clinton supporters to vote Republican on November 4 as some sort of protest vote.

Now, I understand the pain and anger that many of you are experiencing. (I’m a Florida voter.) I’m not going to try to persuade anybody to do anything. Do what you think is right. I just want to caution you to view many of these posts with a healthy dose of skepticism. The person writing the post might not actually share your enthusiasm for Senator Clinton and may, in fact, not like her at all.

Comment by Mel | 2008-06-08 14:59:34

Kevinole, I agree to some point, but ask anyone here, I am a Clinton supporter and feel that the tactics used in the primary season hold water in a GE, after all, those were the tactics used by the Presumptive Democratic nominee, is it fair, well lets see after the GE.

Obama used them countless times, so fair is fair and simply because Obama hides under the banner of Democrat means nothing in the tactics he used and maintained in the Primary’s! As for his name, he is the one who totes he has a funny name, so why be ashamed of it, after all it is his name and people should of thought of it before calling Senator Clinton a bitch and every other disgusting name, difference being it is his legal name!

Also, Obamabots use the exact same tactics you are presently using as well, not that I am implying anything by that, but fact remains just the same.

Comment by Kevinole | 2008-06-08 17:11:22

Okay, Mel, if you say you support Hillary Clinton I will gladly take you at your word.

I respect the fact that you object to Obama being named the presumptive nominee of the Democratic party and that you feel that Senator Clinton was treated unfairly by the media, the DNC, the Obama campaign, etc.

I also respect that you want to use your vote on November 4 to protest Obama’s nomination.

Here is what I don’t understand:

If you’re such a strong supporter, why on earth would you vote AGAINST everything that Hillary Clinton stands for? Because that’s EXACTLY what you’d be doing if you vote for John McCain.

If you must protest, why not simply abstain from casting a vote for president?

Comment by Mel | 2008-06-08 19:29:33

To answer it simply Kevin, country first! Hillary did for the Party as she always has done even when her Party ignored the attacks on her.

Based upon the information and disinformation known about Obama, I will do all I can to make sure Obama never enters the White House and not based upon guilt by association, but because of guilt of co-operation!

To not vote allows an easier time for Obama to replace one vote, but voting for McCain requires Obama to find 2 votes. It is stacking votes against Obama like he did taking advantage of the caucuses. When even 30% of Hillary votes become GOP for a day will require Obama to recoup 12 million votes which is impossible for him to do! Should 40% of Clinton voters become GOP’s for a day, then the insurance against Obama becomes 15 million votes for Obama to recoup defiantely impossible for the creep from Chicago!

So please do not throw Hillary’s 40 yrs in my face, when every Obamabot took from Obama’s lead to discount many years of her work and now want to play love and sweetness towards her!

“The constant use of “Barack H. Obama”, reminding us that Obama’s middle name is “Hussein”. This is apparently a big deal in conservative circles”

I don’t think that’s true. The big deal in conservative circles is that there isn’t a conservative in the race. McCain is a centrist/moderate and Obama is a leftwing/liberal. This election is splitting both parties. The right- and left-wing extremists will want Obama and the centrists will want McCain. Weird.

That said, it is funny to make a big deal out of “Hussein” when “Barack” and “Obama” are just a Muslim as his middle name. (Baraq is the name of Mohammed’s horse.)

Apparently, people are becoming convinced.

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-06-08 12:05:38

How can they spin it? It’s worse than the worst exit polls from W.VA! I think that one was like 37%.

I am assuming that this is lower than actuality, since I still think people fudge on this because they don’t want to be considered a racist.

It’s THE big term, you know, if you don’t vote for Barak.

The DNC, MSM as evident by their Sunday’s TV “News” programs & Sunday news papers are orgasmic about the anointed one & Hillary “Concession” speech yesterday. Obama was selected not elected. That among others is the reason not to vote for Obama. The DNC, rules committee violated, stole the election from Hillary. May 31 was crossing the Rubicon for me. Hillary wanted to carry out the process to the convention, Democracy in action. The DNC said nyet! & that was it. Even if Hillary is the VP…DNC gave her no choice. The DNC wants your vote & that is the ONLY reason she would be on the ticket. Talk about going to the back of the bus for women. Think after Obama’s second term they would let her run…no way. I bet they would pick another VP for his second term since by then they would rig future Democratic primaries for their “Candidates”…Starting of George Orwell’s 1984…

…1984 has come and gone, but George Orwell’s prophetic nightmarish vision in 1949 of the world we were becoming is timelier than ever. 1984 is still the great modern classic of “Negative Utopia”—a startlingly original and haunting novel that creates an imaginary world that is completely convincing, from the first sentence to the last four words. No one can deny this novel’s power, its hold on the imaginations of whole generations, or the power of its admonitions—a power that seems to grow, not lessen, with the passage of time.

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-06-08 11:57:52

Obama claimed his campaign had noting to do with that 1984 video. (I read the youtube comments on it, and a person asked, “Why does the Hooters girl hate Hillary so much?” LOL.) Of course, we all recognize these new politics and the predictable Obama campaign response:

Obama’s campaign offered only a dismissive response when asked if members of the campaign had encouraged the viral video, or assisted in its distribution in any way.

“Like most everyone else in the world, we’ve moved on to other issues,” said Bill Burton, a Chicago-based spokesman for Obama’s campaign.

http://rawstory.com/news/2007/Hillary_1984_ad_creator_lived_with_0323.html

The guy who made the ad said he wanted to express his feelings about the Democratic primary, and because I wanted to show that an individual citizen can affect the process. I got the message loud and clear. This November I will vote independently of the Democratic party and show them just what I think of their primary process and their candidate. I hope I am a vote that swings NY state red this year. I’m voting for McCain.

I suggest they take a look at what they are allowing on their website. The post from SOCIALIST FOR OBAMA and the person is from Tennessee. (I can assure Obama/Marxist should just go on down the electoral map because he will never take Tennessee)

HAMAS WOULD BE PROUD OF OBAMA/MARXIST OFFICIAL WEBSITE WHICH MAKES IT VERY CLEAR THEIR ANTI-ISRAEL STANCE -

SO NOW IS THROWING THE JEWISH VOTE UNDER THE BUS HIS NEXT STEP AT PURGING THE PARTY?

Ok, I’ve got a rant. It will be short and full of boo boos because I’m still whacked on pain meds and typing flat on my back. First off, thank you Larry and Susan for having a safe port in this shit storm for me to convalesce. You’ve helped me maintain my sanity. If I had to spend 12 weeks watching MSM I’d be swallowing the Percs in handfulls. Anyhow…yesterday was the first day that I’d really ventured outside the house since the back surgery. It was a trip I couldn’t miss. All three of my sons were entered in a local Martail Arts competition and I wanted so badly to be there. So I loaded up on pain meds and soft cushy pillows and went. It was a small event with about about 10 schools represented and about 800 people showing up to watch. These events can take all day and can be rather boring while you’re waiting for your child to compete, so you get to know the other parents sitting in the stands with you. It starts out with small chat, mostly, but as the day wears on, sometimes the conversation gets interesting. And yesterday was no exception. One parent from our school wanted to know how my husband was doing after returning from Iraq. He’s has been diagnosed with severe PTSD and depression. So I told him, there’s good days and bad days. This parent said how pissed he was that the war was still going on and how both parties had failed us…the republicans for getting us into Iraq and the weakass democrats for not standing up to Bush. Well, that was all I needed. Anyone who knows me, knows not to get me started on politics…I live for this shit…the poor guy. I saw an opening and took it. We started on McCain and worked our way around to Hillary and Obama. Now this guy was not a political junkie by any means. He owned his own company and made a good living, like many of the parents in the stands that day. Upper middle class and college educated. He said he’d vote against the republicans in November. He liked both Obama and Hillary but with Hillary dropping out, he’d vote for Obama. One thing bothered him though, he really didn’t know where Barky stood on the issues. In fact as we talked, more and more parents gathered around to hear our conversation, we were up to about a small crowd of 20 by then and many said the same thing, they didn’t really know him. But they said anything is better than Bush. Ouch. I couldn’t resist, I’m such a bitch. I could have just gone off and listed everything I’d discovered about Barky, while being exiled to the make believe land of the internet but that would have turned off the few die hard Obama bots in the crowd…so I asked does anyone know who Tony Rezco was? NONE OF THEM DID! NOT ONE! Only a few knew about Wright and Pfleger. So I told them about Rezco and the felony conviction. They were astonished and wanted to know if it was true why hadn’t CNN or other news agencies not picked up on it. I just looked at them and they all nodded. I told them not to trust the MSM or to even trust me, but to do their own research. Google Rezco and follow the money… just follow the money. Look…all the GOP has to do is make people like the ones I met aware of the FACTS and Obama is toast. They don’t have to lie or cheat and steal this time. Why can’t the SD’s understand this?

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-08 12:30:01

Interesting, I think the problem with the Rezko story is that they never really linked Obama to any payoffs. I saw one very good article months ago that laid it out nicely. That was it.

Excellent post.

Many assume the media only wants Obama in there so McCain can win in the fall. I’m beginning to doubt this. Obama’s moneyis coming from overseas, mid-east, petrol dollars (see Auchi, Assassamre). Once the GOP realizes this, they should join Clinton Democrats and do something NOW.

The MSM and the current Democratic leadership have sold their souls to the highest bidder. Fox News and GOP need to go hard against Obama and let the convention chips fall where they may.

Its about America defeating this Manchurian worm.

Strawberry, I totally hear your frustration; so many of my friends are gravely ill informed. You had an interested crowd, I’ve noticed that too many of the folks that I would love to rant to aren’t interested. I come across as angry or paranoid. It is all out there for them to research and read, it isn’t even hard. Americans are lazy. So many people that I know are so wrapped up in themselves that they cannot be “bothered”. I find this so unbelievably annoying. Until every facet of American life is ill affected people will not move on certain issues. They watch a few min. of news and believe everything they hear. I am a huge NPR fan and even they have failed us and Hillary and the TRUTH. They speak of BO in half truths, they report what he says but no deeper. I am not sure how to move on in any real way. If I think about it all too long it is too depressing and I need to remove myself and focus on what I can control at the moment; which is my family. Thank you for your rant.

Strawberry:

This is a good point — how you can educate people with just a little bit of information taht changes their mind about Obama.

Back when Bill Clinton was running against Bush Sr. for his first term as president, I was chatting with the owner of a video store in my Florida town.

She was leaning toward Bush Sr. because she didn’t know much about Bill. But she also revealed she was pissed at Bush Sr. for raising taxes when he promised he wouldn’t.

So I just gave her the one piece of info to push her into Bill Clinton’s camp — I told her Bush Sr. maintains a hotel room in Texas so he can claim himself as a Texas resident and save on State Income tax. The hotel didn’t even charge Bush Sr. to “live” there because he felt it was an honor to have a US president at the hotel.

This little bit of info pushed this business owner into Clinton’s camp. Within days she had a Clinton poster in her window. And a few weeks later while I was in there I heard her repeat the story of Bush Sr. and his shifty way of avoiding state income taxes. That year Clinton won FL even though FL had voted GOP dating back to Reagan.

Our friends and neighbors are not as politically plugged in as we are.

Another example — my best friend from college was visiting last weekend. She is a Hillary supporter — but faced with Hillary’s loss, she is definitely having problems about who she will vote for.

She said something about Obama’s airy fairy Hope & Change speeches felt phony to her. But she clearly did not know much about his past. And the Rev. Wright thing bothered her.

So I gave a ten-minute overview of all the shady things in his past. She was shocked that none of this was on the news. I told her the MSM is not vetting candidates for us — we have to do it ourselves.

Then I mentioned Obama’s plan to raise taxes on people like her. She struggling to send two daughters to college.

She then said, “I think I’ll vote for McCain.”

One thing the online Obama Brown Shirts can NOT do — they can NOT stop us from talking to people in the real world.

We need to do exactly what Strawberry did at every opportunity.

Word of mouth, from one trusted friend or neighbor to another, is still the most powerful advertising in the world.

I hope you are healing well and God Speed to you and your husbands recovery, thoughts and prayers from us.

How did your kids do in the competition?

I have had a similar experience in asking a group of folks what were Barky’s positions and did they know about the Combine. Not one did…

The next group of people I run into are the “relative crowd”. Hillary is dirty too, McCain is dirty too… all politicians are corrupt…

Bottom line is many Americans take the MSM for real news and don’t even wonder why they get manipulated.

Best to you and yours…

Teakwood, the boys did great. My little guy with autism took home a silver and a bronze, his twin took a gold and a bronze and my sixteen year old took two golds. They all did poomse forms and sparring. I was very proud. Thanks for asking.

Penn has a very bland and odd article on Real Clear Politics regarding the campaign and basically said it came down to not having money.

What was weird was that he didn’t explain what happened really to the 100 million raised, so the article sounds very weak.

He doesn’t strike me as being on his game at all.

The money, its all about the money. Obama’s Global Poverty Act is all about sending out money to foreign countries specifically KENYA. Obama’s favorite state, where he helped elect his cousin. Obama is a sleazy politician who gives pay back for support, People WAKE UP!!!
