Not far from the Tree

I don’t know how many times it has happened or to how many people. But more than a few Hillary supporters that refuse to support Obama have been accused, intimidated, threatened and attacked with an alarming increasing frequency.

We witnessed the beginnings of this when Tavis Smiley was threatened because he spoke out against Obama. Hell, they even threatened his family. People like John Lewis were likewise threatened and intimidated. And during the caucuses it is no big secret that the Obama people intimidated Hillary supporters. In some cases they even resorted to violence.

So just what is it that drives seemingly otherwise reasonable people to have such little regard for the rights and opinions of others? Are they under some magic spell and just can’t help themselves? Because it sure seems that way. Is it any wonder that many of us refer to Obama followers as Cultists? Because that is the way they act, swarming like a mob at anyone and anything in their path.

How else to you explain the personal threats that Paula Abeles received to both herself and her family merely because she helped to organize a meeting with John McCain? Anonymous people call you up and say that they know where you live and that they know you have children. And they call you at every hour of the day and night. What should you believe?

Just who are these sick bastards that think that threatening little children is within the realm of acceptable political behavior? And given that these incidents are public news why is Obama so strangely silent? And Howard Dean? Where are these folks that claim to desire unity? Do they think they can threaten us into it?

The answer to many of these questions is unfortunately dead silence. Because you certainly don’t see Obama or any Democratic leader calling for civility. It’s exactly the same response we heard when we complained so loudly about the obvious misogyny.

What we do hear is that we should just get over our angst. And they seem to believe that that is enough to quell the masses. But what they refuse to see, or they are intentionally ignoring, is the seething hatred that is growing among their own ranks. Most of us on the other side have already moved on and we are doing something constructive with our dissatisfaction.

While trying to come up with a reasonable answer as to why all of this is happening I am reminded of Obama’s upbringing. And especially of the central characters closest to him, the ones that helped him formulate his sense of self. And when I look at people like Jeremiah Wright and Michael Pfleger and Louis Farrakhan and Bill Ayers it is very easy to see why Obama has turned a deaf ear to these many despicable transgressions.

Because his closest associates know nothing but hate. And they ALL seek revenge. So it is very easy to see why Obama’s Cultists emulate the same thuggish type behavior. Because the truth is that beneath the glamor and the charm is a man full of hate. And he wants to take it out on the rest of us. Those of us that don’t adore and praise him.

Let’s be very clear here. The people that are making these threats are nothing more than terrorists. Because that is the path they have chosen. They have a political agenda. And if the rest of us stand in the way of it we are disposable. That is what this is all about. And that is why we must defeat them. Regardless of the cost.

On Sunday, I placed a magnetized sticker with a cutout of Obama’s head, and “I attended that church for 20 years…but I never inhaled!” on my car.

I went to the grocery, and came out about an hour later; across my hood, someone had dragged a key across the hood…I was able to buff most of it out, but occam’s razor, the simplest explanation, being that I’ve NEVER had anyone inflict intentional damage on any of my cars since I’ve owned one…a few hours after I place an anti-obama sticker on my car, and it gets keyed?!?

Yea, f*ck obama and his cult members.

Comment by Denise | 2008-06-24 14:16:44

why didn’t you ask the store for a copy of their surveilance tape? you should have called the police and had the incident published in the paper. I’m sure there is one journalist in your area that would love to get these types of stories.

Comment by destardi | 2008-06-24 14:38:26

I hadn’t considered all that…well, I did consider the surveilance tape, but I didn’t know if a car being keyed would be enough?

All of the people threatened should take out an ad in the NYT and ask Obama to stop.
I am sick of their puff pieces on Obama.
Today, they did point out that Muslims are unhappy with his distancing from them, but normally he’s Mickey Mouse walking on water.

Comment by WestPalm4Hillary | 2008-06-24 15:06:19

I too had my car keyed right above my Hillary sticker a month or so ago.

The funny thing is, I NEVER assumed it was a Republican or McCain supporter that did it, and neither has anyone else I told. For some reason, they all can’t believe an OBAMA supporter would do such a thing!

Liberal thugs are the worst, because their “internal value system” doesn’t not mirror the worldview they pretend to seek.

The so called Op Ed bloggers that write for AOL at the Political Machine are so pro ObamThey drool over him, talk about how wonderful he looks in HD, how smooth he is.
They do not hesitate attack people who disagree.
In fact I am not certain that they didn’t “hack” my PC. At times posters have to validate their remarks, with a return email. Some of mine had strange code embedded in my remarks. I quite posting there, because of the direct personal attacks to myself and other anti Obama supporters by other bloggers, but in main because of the attacks coming from the Political Machine hacks.
In my opinion, Obama is making a list of people who opposed him. If he is elected, we all have seen enough to understand what a nightmare awaits America.

Comment by C.S. | 2008-06-24 20:26:48

And keep reminding everyone that “enemy lists” have been made by politicians before and lives were ruined.

Joe McCarthy harmed thousands of people and created an exodus from the U. S. to Europe during the McCarthy Communist witch hunt years followed not too many years later by Richard Nixon’s Watergate scandal.

And then there is George W. Bush’s “enemy list” of travelers, phone users and e-mailers to wiretap. What punishment will Obama use on his critics when he comes for them.

And 3 guys from the car wash (voters…not “illegal immigrants”) told me they loved it and wanted to know where to get their own.

The unwashed masses (no pun intended about the car wash guys!) don’t like BO.

We need to continue to speak out against them. We must not allow ourselves to be intimidated into silence. That is what they are hoping for.

Comment by Grace | 2008-06-24 13:54:52

The only appropriate response is to do what Paula Abeles did: to report the crime outloud in the news. To keep quiet and show fear are not options because that would give them a sense of victory and accomplishment. These people are like the “mafia” a la Victor Corleone or Al Capone style. People need to get outraged, report the criminal conduct almost immediately, and keep doing what they need to do.

It’s because John McCain is not a friend of Democrats or Hillary Clinton. McCain once joked that Chelsea was ugly because she is the daughter of Hillary and Janet Reno. Planned parenthood gives him a 0% rating on supporting women’s issues. Many Obama supporters, like myself, understand party unity and the need to put a democrat in the White House. We see sites like this as falling for republican smear tactics or schizophrenia. Obama won the primary fair and square. He’s the candidate of the Democratic party. And yes, we Obama supporters are not cultists nor bots. These lame attempts at dehumanization only encourage hate.

And do you think McCain, who admits to being computer illiterate, would protect net neautrality? If not, you can say good by to sites likes No Quarter.

Comment by gorgonica | 2008-06-24 15:01:49

How does John McCain’s stances justify violence against other voters. If we disagree with someone’s stances or a voter’s choice our option is to use reason not threats. That behavior is so at odds with the foundation of a democratic society. There isn’t justification in your statements. McCain may be a complete loser and pointing that out is reasonable but pointing it out as a justification for violence against another voter’s is ludicrous.

Larry,
As a good psy-ops player, what do you think of bumper stickers which are designed to overlay “Obama ‘08′” so the new sticker when added says, “Obama ??? Yo Mama!”

Or just a simple “No” which would overlay the ‘O’ in Obama?
The benefit here is that the message gets out and no cars get keyed. Well, only until they start realizing they’re doing it to their own cars…

Comment by DAB | 2008-06-24 18:35:26

This attitude of Obama’s minions was rampant long before the Republican nominee was even known. So don’t insult our intelligence with your false connection with McCain. And to imply that we are somehow falling for Republican propaganda is ridiculous.

It also seems that you don’t think that those with opinions other than yours should even be allowed to have alternate websites or a voice in what has transpired. So sorry to disappoint, but we don’t intend to shut up.

My brother, his wife and their daughter are coming to dinner tonight at my parent’s house, where I’m visiting, and if the topic of conversation turns to politics, I know I’m going to have to bite my tongue off or give someone a real piece of my mind, because in my family, only myself, one niece and my mother were for Hillary. PaganPower: You hit the nail right on the head. It is a cult, nothing less can describe the antics these people display. I agree that Obama is full of hate. We can never let him be our next president. It infuriates me when I see the news media pandering to him and explaining away any of his faults, flip flops, lies, exaggerations, etc. They never mention anything about his followers and what they have done throughout this primary season. Oh but they accuse Hillary’s supporters of the things that the Obamatrons constantly do and have done from day one. It is profound. I am not going to be brainwashed not by Obama, his followers or the media. If it isn’t Hillary then its McCain. At least they love their country unlike Obama.

Comment by EXDem | 2008-06-24 13:58:39

Well, I did it. I change my party affiliation from Democrat to “unaffiliated”. I registered to vote, registered as a DEMOCRAT, in June, 1979; when I turned 18. I have voted straight Democratic party ticket every election since then. No more, no way, NObama !

Comment by prabhata | 2008-06-24 14:15:34

Welcome to the unaffiliated. I too was a Democrat since I became citizen in 82 and before, I followed with my ex-husband (a US born citizen) all the elections going back to HHH loss. I’ve volunteered and donated to the Democrats, but I’m happy to see the light and recognized why the Democrats are such losers.

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-24 14:02:12

Part of her issue could be the other activities she was involved in. That whole Jefferson deal is a bit bizarre.

I was disappointed with allowing her to speak for PUMA after she revealed more.

Just my 2 cents.

We need unencumbered spokespeople for credibility. There are plenty of us out here.

PUMA….be careful!

Comment by Tom | 2008-06-24 14:11:08

Exactly. “Merely because she helped to organize a meeting with John McCain”? Disingenuous much?

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-24 14:17:00

No, not that. It’s the Jefferson family debate stuff.

That would automatically make her a target.

I honestly thought that it was a bit disingenuous to suggest it was because she was opposed to Obama.

I was, however, impressed that she admitted her background. That was a plus.

I would guess that the racial tension stirred up by the Jefferson family debate had a lot more to do with her story than being a supporter of Obama.

Anyway, no biggee.

I just want PUMA to be sharp. Maybe too sharp, I guess.

I think there are plenty of spokespeople who are available. No need to tap people who obviously have past baggage.

Comment by PaganPower | 2008-06-24 14:50:46

If you read her explanation of the Jefferson dust up her position was fairly sound. To allow her to be considered a racist for what she said is ridiculous.

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-24 14:53:52

I don’t doubt there is a legitimate discussion going on.

I’m strictly speaking from the perspective that there is more to her story, too.

I think PUMA can find better.

That’s all.

I like her. I certainly don’t care about that Jefferson family stuff.

But I’m also not interested in genetic fights.

Yeah, I’m reminded of that video on youtube that shows kids on the gaza strip working for bo. That’s better than fighting on the streets, but foreign influence of US elections isn’t right. And what about bo’s fundraising in China and other foreign countries? Okay, we all know their economy is booming. But it makes me wonder how much of bo’s money is coming from foreign interests? how much is coming from big business? how little is actually coming from the masses? Will we ever know?

We all know bo isn’t opposed to flip-flopping, accidentally presses the wrong button when voting on bills, and likes having his money center in Illinois because of vague disclosure laws. Yeah, we all know those laws don’t call lobbyist money by what it is. Wonder if it would call foreign money by what it is?

“No rules prohibit fundraising abroad, so long as the donors are American citizens. And a number of the 2008 presidential contenders engaged in overseas fundraising during the past 16 months. McCain, for instance, held a March 20 luncheon at Spencer House — the neo-classical home built for an ancestor of Diana, the late Princess of Wales — “by kind permission of Lord Rothschild OM GBE and the Hon. Nathaniel Rothschild.”

From the Washington Post article you linked.

Comment by B from Bloomington | 2008-06-24 21:33:05

Ummm… the point is “creative” bookeeping and “creative” fundraising is fundamental to the bo campaign (aka money laundering of sorts–like companies contribute in the names of employees to make it look like the money is coming from the individual, not the business, etc.) US citizens are allowed to contribute, but whether the money actually belongs to the US citizen is another thing. Whether the money is recorded honestly is another thing. Bo has raised much more overseas and on the internet than any other candidate. It, like everything about him, should be questioned.

I think using the word “terrorist” or “terrorism” is a bit harsh. Most of his followers are just Democrats who like him and have not delved too deeply into what and who he is. As long as Obama has the Axelrod crew, no one will know who and what he really is…they are just selling the image they created.
Not all Obama followers are assholes. The problem is, the assholes stand out. I met a few while canvassing for Hillary Clinton. I will agree with you on this point, there does seem to be a “Cult-like” following in some instances. Many are guilty of a black or white view, similar to GWBush. If BO is elected, I hope he is not, as you suggest, a reflection of his followers/supporters. What another sad day in our US history that will be.

Sounds like terrorism to me and home grown at that.

For people who have NOT seen the Obamabot in action — IN PERSON — then I suppose it is hard to believe that these people are using terrorism.

I’ve seen Obamabutts in action during the caucus — they are enraged and the potential violence is just under the surface.

These Obamabutts are cult members and they will do anything for their leader — ANYTHING. They already lie with ease — just like their master.

Obama MUST BE DEFEATED — for the sake of America. His followers are unstable and dangerous.

the question is just why this rage now when two aa’s ran in the 2004 election. i say lay it at the obama campaign’s feet along with the dnc. and let’s not forget the media.

i believe the hateful and violent were that way before obama, but he opened pandora’s box for his own self interest. kick his butt to the curb on election day.

Pagan,
Excellent post.
The Democrats and Obama are perpetrating such unmitigated abuse in their practice of Partisan Domestic Violence! I will never forget this abhorrant behavior! We’ve got to leave this abusive relationship, get to a safe place, and not look back.

The Hitler Youth Movement rises again

Only this time its name is the Obama Nation.

And if you aren’t with them you are a racist and must be silenced by any means neccessary.

Yep…thats the america they want to live in.

I subscribe that unless you are talking to AIPAC, any reference to Hitler means you’ve jumped the shark.

You guys are out there! I love ya……I enjoy you.

But you’re out there.

do yourself a favor. GO read up on how Hitler rose to power. Read up on the Hitler youth movement and what it was supposed to signify and what it turned into.

History is waiting for you at the library and the book title is not “the Audacity of Hype.”

But then you are probably one of those silly impressionable koolaid drinking hopium smoking obamanuts who thinks Che Guevera is actually Antonio Banderas and is just a dreamey guy!

You obama supporters are self affirming Idiots.
