How is it under that bus, Comrade Klonsky?

Easy come, easy go.
No sooner than Global Labor blogged here and here — reprinted at No Quarter earlier in ““White Guilt” Politics of Obama Crowd Undermined” — about the role in the Obama campaign of Mike Klonsky, former Weather Underground leader Bill Ayers’ longtime comrade-in-arms from their days in SDS to the Chicago School Wars they fought in the 80s and 90s alongside Barack Obama, and presto he’s gone.
As of last night, Klonsky is no longer blogging on the Barack Obama for President website.
In fact, it’s like he was never there.
Does this remind anyone of something?
Recall what would happen in Soviet Russian textbooks when a trotskyist or bukharinite got purged by Uncle Joe, as Klonsky lovingly recalls the dictator Joseph Stalin at this reunion of SDS in November of last year in Chicago: their pictures would quickly get airbrushed out of the old photographs, without any explanation.
(Of course, the disappearance was not just in text books. Millions lost their lives. One day they were there, the next day they were gone, poof, off to Siberia or to the basement of KGB headquarters to be shot.)
Earlier today when one went to the Community Blogs on the Obama website there was the Klonsky blog on education policy and something he calls “social justice teaching.” Tonight, all you get at the same “freedom teachers” URL is: “Invalid blog/profile URL.” Today’s softer version of the Stalinist airbrush.
Who knew that the political purge would be revived by the Democratic Party’s presumptive nominee, Barack Obama.
If this only represents another opportunistic move in the “maturing” of the presumptive nominee it’s just more of the same. But perhaps it means some restoration of rationality in the thinking of the young candidate about education policy itself.
Now if only he can explain about “that guy in the neighborhood” whom he worked side by side with for years at the Chicago Annenberg Challenge.
How is that throwing him under the bus? That is called BEING FIRED.

Earlier this month you predicted in a post that Senator Obama would remove himself as the presumptive nominee in 45 days, which would have put such action in mid-July. Do you still hold to your prediction?
I don’t remember what I wrote back then if I actually did say anything, but I doubt I would have said that Obama would remove himself. Actually, there’s no way Obama would ever do that. I seem to recall that I once said Obama would be lost without Hillary to fall back on and this is happening everyday now. This week has been particularly eventful.

Not everyone gets to see the candidate of their choice nominated. There were 10 candidates this year. According to the rules, only one gets nominated. Sen. Hillary Clinton made her first public appearance as a surrogate for Barack Obama on Thursday, in the process made a strong case to the Latino-American audience to which she spoke that the man who vanquished her in the Democratic primary was now the best choice to be elected president.
Appearing before the National Association of Latino Elected & Appointed Officials (NALEO), Clinton did not even mention Obama’s opponent, John McCain. Instead she laid out a comprehensive case for why the Illinois Democrat was best suited to advance the issues of the Latino community, in the process evoking her own campaign experience.
“I know this was a hard fought primary campaign, and I am very grateful for the passion and determination of those who supported me,” she said as an audience member screamed, “we love you Hillary!”
“But every issue you care about personally,” she continued, “every issue your constituents care about and every issue NALEO is fighting for is really at risk. We cannot afford four more years of the same. It wouldn’t be good for us. We have to chart a new course and we cannot do that without electing Senator Obama our next president.”

This is the bottom line as to why Obama should not be president. Hillary is the other half of the equation. There’s far too much here to elect Obama to anything except prison laundry room keeper of the keys.

i frankly have a perfectly functional brain, Hillary was my first choice. I made that choice after watching the Democratic Debates and learning about the candidates. My loyalty,my brain, and my vote is my own. I shall now move into other options. I gave Obama a look, I completely rejected him as unacceptable way back. He’s not getting a second look for me. My decision right now is where to go now. Hillary earned my vote in the primary but she does not own my vote in the GE unless she is the candidate. My vote is not transferable automatically.
You do not understand. We do not believe Obama is qualified to be president. He has no experience or record and we’re told we should vote for him because he has good “Judgement”! Getting thrown under the bus in this case means Mr. Klonsky was REMOVED from the Obama website as one of his EXPERTS on Education reform. Obama and William Ayers spent all the Annenberg Challenge money, about $90 million to improve education in the Chicago area but their results weren’t very good.
I guess he was shitcanned. There are quite a few cans of shit under the bus right now. I say we throw them back on the ratboat.
Results have been positive. Where do you get your stats from? You just make them up. You guys figure if you lie no one will know. Chicago School Reform, which Klonsky has been at the forefront, while not solving all the problems that exist in the Chicago Public Schools has been a positive force. Why do you lie?

If Obama is going to run a site where anyone can star a blog, it does not relieve him from responsibility of patrollong that blog to ensure that those who do blog there exhibit his values.
If he is too lazy or cheap to do that, then he needs to tighten it up. It is his website and he is responsible for its content.
