The Just Say No Deal Coalition Responds
To Gov. Ed Rendell
We’d Like To Teach An Old Dog Some New Tricks
- Online, in Washington D.C. and Nationwide (Press contacts listed at conclusion) - The Just Say No Deal Coalition issues the following response to Governor Ed Rendell’s counter movement HOUND (Hillary-Obama-United-Not-Divided). While we thank the governor for recognizing us as a fluid, viral, viable and ever growing movement— we PUMAs and members of the Just Say No Deal Coalition want to respectfully point out that Governor Rendell and his crew are missing the point.
In HOUND’s credo Governor Rendell states, “PUMA advocated that Hillary Clinton supporters do not vote for Barack Obama just for the sake of party unity…We believe Sen. Clinton supporters should vote for Sen. Obama because, as Hillary herself said so forcefully and poignantly in her great speech a few Saturdays ago the best way to achieve the changes she has fought so hard to bring to America, and on which she based her campaign, is to support Sen. Obama…”
The philosophy on which the Just Say No Deal Coalition was founded is plainly stated as this:
We, as millions of disaffected voters or PUMAs have banded together to form a Coalition of the unwilling. We fervently believe in Country Before Party. If political parties won’t uphold core democratic principles, who will? If the voters don’t hold the parties accountable, who will?
The answer, “We (PUMAs) will at all costs!”
Governor Rendell went on to state:
“We agree with many of your grievances. For example, we, too, believe that the Democratic Party’s nominating process is unfair and undemocratic. We must change the policy where some votes are more important than others and some areas receive more delegates than their number of voters would justify – it violates the spirit of “one person, one vote.” We must eliminate caucuses that are inherently undemocratic and disenfranchise seniors (no absentee voting for those who can’t go to the polls), shift workers and our military. Forcing people to declare their preference in public also violates another cherished principle that undermines our democracy.”
PUMAs again appreciate the heartfelt recognition of Just Say No Deal from Governor Rendell and his group, but it is too late. The damage has been done. We will not fall in line. We will not support a Democratic Party nominee that was selected with a flawed voting process. Reform the process and try to win us back in 2012 Governor Rendell.
Finally Governor Rendell states:
“So, we are asking all PUMA members to curb your disappointment, mute your anger and frustration and join HOUND to help change America. While the PUMA may be more swift and athletic, the HOUND is smarter and more perceptive.”
-MORE-
Again Governor Rendell and crew— you have missed the point. Attempting to insult or undermine us by saying that we have less perception or smarts than you do is counterproductive. We are a diverse group of voters representing ALL ages. We come from all ethnic, socio-economic, religious, political and academic backgrounds; we unite to say (once again), “COUNTRY before PARTY!”
We will not support Senator Obama now or on November 4, 2008. Senator Clinton’s vote is her own; our votes are our own and they will not be cast for Senator Obama. The Just Say No Deal Coalition members will still either choose to stay home in protest, write in Senator Clinton’s name or vote for Senator John McCain. Our votes are our voices and Just Say No Deal’s voices are over 2 million strong and growing. And by the way, we say, “H.O.U.N.D. = Heck, Obama’s Unqualified, No Deal!”
In operation just over three hundred hours, the Just Say No Deal Coalition is growing exponentially, from its core group of twenty organizations to an estimated two hundred. Concerned citizens continue to break their silence to express their dissatisfaction with the leadership of the Democratic Party and its apparent short-circuiting of the nominating process. The Just Say No Deal Coalition’s online portal offers those voters a chance to reclaim their voices and the power to Just Say No Deal! The Coalition will continue to organize in pursuit of its mission of keeping another unqualified candidate from inheriting the Oval Office.

SIMPLE ANSWER TO THE ENTIRE DUMMYCRAT PARTY…….
NEVER BO……………………..

BOBO has got to go.
TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO UNDERSTAND WHY I A HILLARY LOYALIST CANNOT VOTE ON THE PRINCIPAL OF UNITY ALONE READ MY RESPONSE AND I HOPE THE PARTY OF DEMOCRATS ARE LISTENING BECAUSE I WILL NOT CHANGE MY MIND…….

Wow!! went and read your letter…excellent!
Jun 10, 2008 … Carly Fiorina speaks about why she supports John McCain.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8qq3hrw5fk - 76k - Similar pages
She says some nice things about Hillary Clinton in response to women for fair politics!DO NOT WASTE OUR VOTE IN THE FALL,IF HILLARY IS NOT THE NOMINEE THEN WE MUST BE SURE NOBAMA DOES NOT WIN!
Those of you who are voting against Obama as a grudge against Hillary not being the nominee, seriously think twice about it. Senator McCain wrote me a letter stating he will reverse ROE V. WADE, among many other things which affect women I voted for John McCain twice and will not do it again….it’s the biggest mistake of my life. Just because I didn’t like my choices! We got George Bush, the WORST EVER! Don’t make the same mistake just because you are mad that Hillary wasn’t the nominee. The Supreme Court Justices will not be pro-women…a whole littany of what will change is that women will go back 50 to 100years of oppression. You have to ask yourself which candidate and which party will reverse what George Bush has inflicted on this country and it isn’t John McCain. Even his campaign startegy is THE SAME…ROVE ATTACK ADS! IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT IN THE WHITE HOUSE? THIS COUNTRY IS HEADING FOR OBLIVION…a slippery slope like the Roman Empire. You have to ask yourself…Are you going to vote against the party that stands for womens’ rights just to hold a grudge? That’s what it sounds like!
Psst! I never go to a party where I don’t like the host or the theme!

“Psst! I never go to a party where I don’t like the host or the theme!”
You and your kind forget one little detail: Whatever you do, a party will be forced upon all of us.
If you don’t “like” (we being touchy-feely no?) imagine how much you’ll hate 4 years of GW version 2.
Off topic … but this guy’s video makes some good points on the LS vs BO issue.
http://www.vodpod.com/pod/video/1346251
It does make some good points.
Bill Clinton thinks so too!

You make me so proud!
Excellent !!!!!!
JUST SAY NO DEAL!
Hounds have no choice but to lick their own balls. What’s your excuse Rendell?
Red — The Democratic Party has a right to pander for our votes. They do not have a right to force our votes. Let Rendell tell Republicans to join Hound. Our votes belong to us. If the Democratic Party wishes to give away their Party to Obama–then we will become Republicans.
I plan to vote for McCain in November and against the definition of marriage as one man one woman. I see no problem with this.
Checks and balances work wonderfully when it isn’t Pelosi and Reid that have to to the checking and balancing. When our leaders in congress grow something resembling a spine they won’t need jelloman, BOBO the magnificent to get them off the hook. Pelosi and Reid won’t stand for anything and BOBO can’t seem to take a position, but we’re the ones they have to fall in line. HA!
They aren’t spineless they are complicit. The only people they are willing to stand up to is us, they think they can do anything they want, and we have to just take it. Well so far we have. Remember Harry Reid’s phony filibuster? They funded the war completely, they took impeachment off the table, they are giving telecoms immunity.
But they all yelled at Hillary to get out of their race, and now they are setting the dogs on us. They raced to the microphone when Bush said something about Obama and left us hanging in the breeze when someone called us clingy racists.
Good points Betty!
The Dem Party and Congressional leaders were silent as Obamabots smeared the Clintons as racists - WHILE Obama attended a race-baiting hatemongering church!
And now the Dem Party expects us to fall in line?!
ha!
NObama!
WildChild: exactly! WE are the ones standing on principle, and the party “leaders” are asking US to ‘get over it.’ How do you ‘get over’ a fraudulent process that produces an illegitimate and unqualified nominee? By supporting him–they say! I am still amazed that the DNC did this in plain sight on May 31st and there has been NO outrage or calls for accountability from other party leaders–only PUMAS. As Susan said, if no one else is going to safeguard our democracy, we’ll have to do it ourselves.
A message from one who backed Edwards as to why you members of the “Just say no coalition” should put your feelings aside and vote for Obama.
I was a precinct captain in 2004 and urged the Democrats to stress what could happen to the Supreme CourtB should Bush win. Well it wasn’t and Bush got to pick two Scalia clones, one as the Chief Justice. The next president will chose at least two members of the Court. If he is McCain you can kiss Roe v. Wade goodbye and who knows what other things such a Court could decide.
So for no other reason than to prevent a further turn to the far-right of the Court vote for Obama. Presidents only serve one or two terms but Supreme Court Justices serve for life and their decisions can affect us for years, if not decades.
Nahhh. We should become Greens! They are more like Dems than the Repubs are.
Ouch! Why does Rendell sound like Charlie Brown?
.
Love this Teakwood!
Puma’s are swift and athletic and FREE. They learn life’s lessons.
Hounds are TRAINED by their owners and put on a short leash.
PUMA yes
OBAMA NO!
MO has BO trained …but he is still pathetic!
OMG….LMAO….
PUMA!
You guys are GREAT!
What did you all think of Obama’s unity speech were he said that Hillary ran in heels. What a jerk he is. He is pretty arrogant that at a rally TRYING to win women over, he suggests that Hillary did it in heels.
Hill’s speech was very moving and for a minute, I thought it might work. Then the ‘eloquent One’ opened his mouth and ruined it for himself.
joan — the reason it doesn’t work is because its being forced. When did you ever see a losing candidate have to continue to promote the so-called winner like this? It looks like punishment for having been a candidate for the Presidency. Its embarrassing and wrong. What you feel in your soul is real–I have never seen anything like this.
If the situation was reversed there is no doubt in my mind Obama would not have been up on that stage or at any other Hillary event.
My husband said the exact thing thing. Were the situation reversed, the asshole would not have done this for her.
Again, the woman candidate has to humiliate herself to stroke the ego of a less qualified male candidate. Where are the good old boys Edwards, Richardson, Dodd, Biden? These endorsers of BHO should be campaigning and “unifying” for him. Senator Hillary Clinton should not have to campaign prior to the Denver Convention.
Where is the outrage from PUMA about the DNC taking Senator Clinton’s name off of the “Roll Call” vote in Denver? Never in the history of Democratic Conventions has the top candidates’ names not been on the “Roll Call” vote. If Ted Kennedy could be on the Roll Call, why not Hillary Clinton?
Saw Terry Mcauliffe on the TV look like he was choking on a horse when asked about the role call vote.
You are so right, Hillary always shows class, and Obama has none.
s. hall:
You are absolutely correct; there is something demeaning and humiliating in HRC having to do this;
as the better qualified and a woman it looks awful and wrong. It better be the one and only time she does this before the Fall and alone (ie. unless Edwards, Richardson, Biden and the rest of the gang is doing the same). She needs to retire her debt WITHOUT BHO ASAP. It is the only way …
I feel the humiliation for Hillary (sniff)and for our beloved America, who deserves the BEST!
DNC & BHO are doing everything in their power to stop the voice of the people from being heard. This corrupt leaders and politicians are only after their own agenda and not for the country. To have roll call is to give the people a “miracle” chance of reclaiming what belongs to Hillary: THE NOMINEE !
Hillary or McCain ‘08
Andy — I bet Bill had words with Hillary before he left for London. She made a mistake–you cannot get into a Lion’s Cage without getting bitten. He is still trying to embarrass her. Poor little BO had to bite his tongue to keep from getting angry at the things Hillary said about him.
I don’t care if the party threatened to run someone against her for her Senate Seat. It ain’t worth it to be a Demonazi.
Really- I thought the same thing. Well- that should show women to stay in their “places”, now, shouldn’t it? I hate that “punish us because we make YOU look inadequate stuff” in general & the MSM, DNC & Nobama have that stuff going on to the max. Hillary is all the more amazing to keep putting up with it & smiling through it. sheesh.
s. hall, I completely agree. It’s unheard of. It’s coerced, and why should it be Hillary’s job to do what Obama can’t do?
zee — Its frightening that this little nothing has so much power. I watch the Democrats one by one kiss his ring and I have to ask myself just who in the hell is behind him.
The media is already blaming PUMA because 60 cars got spray painted. Like right, who else could it be but 50 year old college educated women. God knows Obama’s thugs wouldn’t do this.
Seems PUMA is getting under Obama’s thin skin. So now he needs to destroy it. Pay attention anyone who is even thinking about voting for BO — what he can’t deal with he destroys.
It’s embarrassing and wrong. What you feel in your soul is real–I have never seen anything like this.
Absolutely. What we are feeling is authentic and true, unlike the marketing illusion that is Obama and the phony Unity theater. I still wince when I think of Hillary’s face, standing on that NH stage. Her spirit was clearly not there. Heartbreaking–she is so much better than that and deserves so much more. Especially with Mr. Smug sitting next to her. Yuck.
How many speeches did Ted Kennedy make supporting Jimmy Carter?
I took the ‘heels’ statement as a joke in reference to Hillary’s statement in Texas about the former governor Ann Richards.
I will not stoop to the behavior of the Obots. I am reasonable. There are bigger fish to fry like having a presumptive nominee who is a cocaine user and a DNC who cheated and who is the puppet for big world wide corporations and War for OIL.
Obama’s a cheap imitation of the genuine article as always.
Indeed Joan. I know a few things about heels myself— Hillary could dance, bowl, shoot whiskey and develop policy while dancing backwards in stilettos. Senator Obama’s inexperience in all matters will be his downfall.
And thank you NQ for posting our JSND release. I hope the Honorable Ed sees it!!! Hmmm… maybe we should all fax it to his office…
And a special thank you to all NQ readers who popped over to hireheels.com to save us from the nasty trolls who were not only infiltrating our website the other night but phoning us at home to harass as well. Sadly they are still there— but what’s a girl to do but smash a 5-inch designer spike through their foreheads…
Cheers,
SCL
Yesssssss!!!!!
Never, never Nobama!
Stated very well–thank you. They just don’t get it. This is not just about Hillary. They could have someone qualified for the job, and instead they went for the unqualified candidate. I do believe that is what we need to keep stating over, and over again–that Obama is unqualified, and that is why we refuse to vote for Obama. Hopefully, this is going to be picked up by the media. Let’s see who paying attention, and will give us some time. PUMA!!!!!!
The DNC, Dean, Brazile and the rest the anti-democratic party supported, pushed and protected BO because, let me say it again, George Soros is financing this and is willing to do whatever he can to have direct access to the Oval Office.
When Soros and BO met behind closed doors and Soros chose to support BO, I have no doubt that it was because he knew he could control him. I’m certain he was not as confidentat that he could control Hillary to betray the middle class in order to advance his agenda of “one world government”.
Take a look. BO has already betrayed his kool-aid brigade and they are so blinded by the marketed “image” of him that they don’t/won’t see it.
This will be a hard fought battle, but we must endure it and, in the end, prevail. The Founders always made it clear that our democracy could survive ONLY if we, the people, were willing to fight for it.
It is our duty as citizens to fight for our democracy as if this were I last opportunity to savie it from those who want to destroy it. Who can predict to what extent the consequences will be, if they are able to “cheat” BO into the presidency and have their way with our precious rights.
PUMA!
I wanted to see if others have thought about these issues regarding OB’s inexperience:
I have wondered if Congress has pushed Obama because THEY want to control him, exploit his inexperience to regain their power. It was the responsibility of our Congress to impeach bush. Rather than taking on fortitude, they wimped out. They know full well they cannot control Hillary Clinton. Is OB being used? He appears used to me by the DNC for $$$.
Another point: The Bush Administration abused the Office of Legal Council, i.e. signing statements. I have always thought that the DEM President would have to make some signing statements of their own to untangle some of the mess caused by this abuse of power created. I have never thought that OB could stand up to the political pressure to make these signing statements.
These issues could very well force a one term PRES. This is all of course if the DNC and Congress continue to prop up OB and not go with the most qualified candidate, who they cannot control, Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Anyone have any thoughts on these issues?
It is easy to see that BO is a pot to piss in and anyone that has smoked crack cocaine has a dependent personality.
If you thought Nixon was painoid you have not seen anything yet. BO’s only method of leading is by controlling.
He is not a smart man.
BHO is so incompetent he depends on his advisers decisions. He even gets confuse which one to follow. So, Congress will be dealing with a puppet, who does not know what’s going on. The scary part, is he’ll be signing presidential privileges and making his corrupt advisers immune from legal proceedings.Bush is abusing that power & Congress can’t do anything.BHO is worst that GWB.
He will be travelling abroad this summer, on taxpayers money (?) for the job training program (LOL). WHY HIRE HIM, THE UNQUALIFIED ONE??
Hillary OR McCain ‘08 !
They that back Obama, will NOT be able to control Obama. Obama has other plans (control by asserting the Nation of Islam et al) and will toss them all under the bus as soon as he gets elected. If he gets elected.
His cross over voters are gone and the kids have moved onto other things now. That was a very weak 50 state strategy huh?
Obama needs Hillary badly. Any promises that he is making to Hillary will not be kept either.
We don’t believe Obama will honor his own word. He is pandering to Hillary to get her help. He has no intention to work with Hillary in the senate to push the things that are important to her and us.
This is not a white against Black or a gender issue.
It’s a fight against nominating a known cocaine user heavily into emplying Black Theology Religion for leading the country…and..
against the DNC cheating the vote right out from under our noses and making the presumptive nominee out of an unqualified candidate.
Removing States that heavily favor Hillary is not the way we play. We will not support the DNC cheating ways. We are fighting for Democracy.
If the diebold machines count all write in votes for Hillary as a vote for Obama..It’s a one line code and you’ll be sorry.
It’s important to cast a protest vote..we’ll have to live with it for 4 years..Obama wouldn’t be better than jmac anyway.
And Donna Brazille will not find her joy when this is all over..but we will find our Joy..right Donna? We are looking for our Joy as you suggested. Country before Party.
Vote out Pelosi.
Help Cindy Sheehan and her grassroots signature gathering campaign in district 8 in San Fran.
She is not what she seems.
Please keep an opened mind and know she intends to fight for the constitution..that’s her passion.
Obama is a user - of people and things. Then tosses them aside when they no longer benefit him.
imho - Obama doesn’t know how to handle power and as president, it’s likely he’d continue throwing people aside.
Obama/Wright08
I got on the Move On email list when I signed up for my free shreddable BOmPUS sticker. So I got this email today today. Give me a break! Now the Obamanation is trying to censor Fox. Fox is the only one of the major news channels that is actually providing “fair and balanced” coverage on the hijacking of the Democratic Primary and is the only news outlet that attempts to hold Obama accountable.
And please, after how the Obama camp and the rest of the mainstream media vicioulsy attacked Hillary Clinton , Move On has some nerve crying foul play. But hey, that’s how it’s been this entire election cycle. They’re still playing that damn race card.
Won’t do them any good. As I’ve said before we hold the Ace in the hole- to the tune of millions of votes that will send this pretender back to Chicago where he belongs.
Dear MoveOn member,
Right now, FOX is trying to paint Barack Obama as foreign, un-American, suspicious, and scary. They’re trying to send Americans the message that our country’s first viable black candidate for President is not “one of us.”
We’ve seen this before from FOX. They won’t stop until it becomes too painful to continue—until the public calls them out and advertisers start getting worried.
Now is the time to draw a line in the sand by putting FOX on notice that their behavior won’t be tolerated. Over 100,000 Americans have already expressed their outrage. Can you make that number even bigger by adding your name to this message?
“FOX must stop injecting racism, prejudice, and fear into our political dialogue. We intend to hold FOX, its advertisers, and its personalities accountable for FOX’s attempts to smear the Obamas.”
FOX’s longtime pattern of smearing Obama and the black community is well documented.1 But the outrageous moments have increased in the last month.
First, a paid FOX commentator accidentally confused “Obama” with “Osama” and then joked on the air about killing Obama.2 Next, a FOX anchor said a playful fist bump by Barack and Michelle Obama could be a “terrorist fist jab.”3 And then, FOX called Michelle Obama “Obama’s baby mama”—slang for an unmarried mother of a man’s child, and a clear attempt to associate the Obamas with negative stereotypes about black people.4
If you know others who’d find FOX’s recent actions despicable, please ask them to sign the petition too. The more people who sign, the bigger our impact will be.
Our friends at ColorOfChange.org—an online advocacy group focused on the issues of importance to the black community—are leading this charge. They will deliver thousands of petition signatures as a group to FOX’s headquarters (in front of other media cameras, so FOX feels more heat). Here’s how they describe the situation:
After each of the incidents mentioned [above], FOX issued some form of weak apology. But what does it mean when you slap someone in the face, apologize the next day, then slap them again? It means the apology is meaningless.
Now is the time to call out FOX for these attacks and their fake apologies. The first stop is FOX. Next will be their advertisers and the FCC. If we don’t push back now, we will see more of the same from now until November. Please join us to demand that FOX answer for its behavior:
Nobody ever apologized to Hillary Clinton for anything. I say we get our opwn petition going to show our support for FOX and neutralize this blatant attempt at censoring the last dissident voice on the TV.
Fox is the only one that will do news on PUMA.
That is the real reason.
We need to get a petition going to FOX and let them know that we are the real voters with the money and we are not boycotting any of their sponsors. It’ll be a wash.
Beautifully stated Kathleen.
I think “as if this were” is not accurate. Considering all the harm Bush has done, this probably is our last chance to save democracy as we know it. Obama has the same arrogance, incompetence and lack of ethics that Bush has. And, as you point out, just as no one dreamed how harmful the Bush Presidency would be to the country, who can predict the consequences of what would amount to one or two more terms of the same, which is exactly what Obama would be.
Rendell and the MSM do not understand or do not want to understand why we are not going to vote for Obama.
The new Democratic Party and Obama DO NOT represent the main core values of the Democratic Party. The new Democratic Party, lead by Obama, has become the party of racism, sexism, and discriminates base on age and religion. Obama and his supporters have clearly set this example during the primary.
Obama is the one who attended a racist church for 20 years. Obama got married in that church and had his children attend and baptized in that church.
Obama is the one who wrote in his autobiography, Dreams of My Father: A Story of Race & Inheritance, “That’s just how white folks will do you.”
Obama is the one who referred to his grandmother as a “typical white person.”
Obama associated with Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, Bill Ayers, Faher Michael Pflger and Rashid Khalidi.
Castro, Gaddafi, Kim Jong, and Hugo Chavez have all voiced support for Obama.
It is not a “knee jerk” reaction for Hillary supporters to vote for McCain. Their allegiance is to America before political party.
How could anyone who has allegiance to America or believes in equality for all support Obama?
That should be a theme for McCain:
TRUST. Who can you TRUST as president?
YES. It’s trust. How can one trust Obama given his history? Great theme.
PUMAs Rock!!
NOBAMA!!
Obama lifted his “heels” remark from Ginger Rogers who, in discussing Fred Astaire’s legendary dancing pointed out that when she danced with him she had to do the exact same steps but had to do it backwards and in heels. Is there nothing Obama says that is original?
That was quoted famously by the great Ann Richards.
But the difference was..Ann gave Ginger the credit,
And somehow Obama uses it in a context that seems in keeping with his typical patronization.
It shows how out of touch he really is…so wrapped up in himself he doesn’t see how lame that comment, coming from him would be perceived.
I had lunch with a friend who is supporting BO and asked him why. His answer — because he’s young. Yes but what about the issues. He had nothing to say except McCain was old and Obama was young. Scary isn’t it. People will throw away their very Democracy to look cool. I tried to give him some information on where Obama really stands on issues. It made no difference.
The official Ginger Rogers site attributes the quote to Bob Thaves:
http://www.gingerrogers.com/about/quotes.html
Which wasn’t really true, because Fred did a lot of great solo dances.
An example of Fred’s artistry:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzdYsxfIJLQ
It always amazes me how hard it is for many men (and because of conditioning, women) cannot ever allow themselves to openly praise a woman for her work, but at the drop of a hat can praise men without restraint for the smallest thing.
Case and point — BO! He gets so much praise for having done so little. But no one calls them on it, except PUMA people. There are even some who compare him and his work as equal to Hillary’s!
The power elite (which is predominantly white men) have gone to extreme lenghs to keep Hillary from becoming our president. I can’t help but believe that one of the reasons is because she would have raised the bar so high for anyone aspiring to be president requiring anyone who ran after her to actually be “qualified”!
As some of the Obama supporters have pointed out, the qualifications for the presidency are based on age and place of birth or citizenship of parents. I prefer the description given by Ms. Harriet Christian–inadequate.
“While the PUMA may be more swift and athletic, the HOUND is smarter and more perceptive.”
Hmmmm…while I like Rendell, I must say that this quote makes me even more determined to do whatever I can to educate those so-called “more perceptive” individuals.
What a joke!
Sounds like with that remark, Rendell is issuing a challenge. He WON’T WIN and neither will Obama.
POOR HOUND, ALREADY HAS OVER 200 FLEAS ON IT. JUST SAY NO DEAL, GREAT RESPOND
I also heard, along with the Beagle, that Hounds are some of the “Smelliest” dogs there are. Does anyone know if this is true?
yes hounds smell, why do you think they call them coonhounds ? and didnt ed rendell say early on before the penns. vote that some people in his state just would not vote for a black candidate ? and then he got in trouble for saying that ……he’s a phony, his state did not support obama and he shouldnt either. so much back-stabbing, so little time !
They are all just in “team mode” now. I was was saddened to see Wes Clarke shilling for BO on TV this a.m.
Beagles ARE hounds, and I think it is the scent hounds who are smelly.
Yes, indeed. I wouldn’t know about the sight hounds, such as whippets and greyhounds, but the scent hounds, beagles, bassets, bloodhounds, dachshunds, etc. are SUPER smelly.
I took my dachshund to Unity NH and besides trying to attack each and every bus of Obama supporters (he loves all people but hates buses) he happily rolled in….whatever was the smelliest thing in the grass.
Hounds roll in excrement and dead things to mask their own scent so they can sneak up on prey. I’ve had to bathe my hound twice this week.
They are pretty darned smart. Not as smart as cats, however.
3 million plus
How is a hound smarter and more perceptive than a jungle cat? Pumas are stalk-and-ambush predators. They are cunning and fierce.
Hounds will catch a scent and follow it without being shaken from it. They perform an instinctive and rote function. In other words, hounds do tricks. Not what I would call exemplary of a unique intelligence.
I had a bassett hound. She was really cute and lovable, but she was also clumsy and slow on the uptake.
Also, (bassett) hounds can’t swim when they’re in the water. Their short legs can’t support the weight of their breastplate, so they sink.
Just sayin’.
Some hounds, such as the dachshund, were bred to follow their own instinct, because they followed their prey right down to their underground dens. Hounds can do tricks…they’re smart enough…but they’re not known for it, since they weren’t bred for obedience.
Cats will be aware of the presence or approach of a hound before the hound catches whiff of the cat.
Dogs aren’t smarter than cats. You never see cats pulling a sled through the snow.
that’s funny but actually I don’t think it is so much of whether one is smarter than the other. Dogs just happen to be more devoted to humans than cats.
