Obama’s own voice may haunt him

An excellent post today on Politico.com by DAVID MARK & KENNETH P. VOGEL.

Obama’s own voice may haunt him looks at how Obama’s Grammy award winning audio book, Dreams of My Father, will be sliced and diced for our listening pleasure.

Coming to an ad on your TV this fall are such wonderful snippets as:

I kept playing basketball, attended classes sparingly, drank beer heavily, and tried drugs enthusiastically… If the high didn’t solve whatever it was that was getting you down,” Obama intones, “it could at least help you laugh at the world’s ongoing folly.

Or his inspiring re-creation of the first time he heard our beloved Reverend Wright.

In one excerpt from the audio book that Hewitt played on his show in March, Obama alters his voice to mimic Wright’s, and repeats passages from a sermon decrying a society “where white folks’ greed runs a world in need.” Later Obama says of Wright’s preaching, “I found the tears running down my cheeks.”

Here’s how one “expert” explains our elections for the ignorant (DNC) who still don’t get it.

“Most people will only start focusing on this race after Labor Day. Most Americans don’t give a rip yet,” said Brown, who is perhaps best know as a creator of the independent expenditure Willie Horton ad that helped elect George H.W. Bush in 1988. “Most haven’t looked at the issues. They don’t know Barack Obama. It’s all about delivering messages to those people during that moment in time when they’re listening.”

Ahh yes!  It should be a fun and enlightening fall.

Funny thing I realized about the post title which was taken straight from Politico. Obama’s voice haunts me so it’s high time for payback.

Seriously. His preacher schmeacher way of talking over and down to us is what I have hated since first hearing him.

Hey NewHampster!! Best to you and yours.

Way early on I had been watching the history channel, 1928-30 Germany, I flipped the channel and BO was “yelling/preaching/talking down to” the audience. The call and response method and the inflection IS the same as what Hitler used.

That attribute of BO is what is going to loose him the election. During the debates, when BO as usual, was getting his ass handed to him, he started yelling his response. Lizard Brain communication skills are no substitute for him having no real communication skills what so ever.

Considering both he and his wife attended a church FOR 20 YEARS where THEY were “communicated at” in the same fashion, that is all they know! Where do you think BO learned the finger move?

One on one in an interview BO can’t keep hold your attention because he is suffering from the after effects of substance abuse.
A bigger stadium won’t change that.

the place where I come from is a small town
they think so small
they use small words
-but not me
I’m smarter than that
I worked it out
I’ve been stretching my mouth
to let those big words come right out

I’ve had enough, I’m getting out
to the city, the big big city
I’ll be a big noise with all the big boys
there’s so much stuff I will own
and I will pray to a big god
as I kneel in the big church

As I’ve said before: A great actor in an Oscar winning film by a great Director. The reviewers loved it but the public stayed away because it was too, too. Too snooty.

There is no doubt that Barry uses these techniques. If one takes a stomach pill first, it is possible to read Mein Kampf. It is evil in ink, but Adolph actually gives exact instruction on how to give speeches, how to push buttons and how to Orate. He used to rehearse his hand and head movements for more powerful speeches. He wrote a manual.
Add in a soupcon of Karl Marx for subject matter.
Mussolini’s style of fascism has parts Barry likes… The Appearance of Control: timely trains, a little less corruption… good stuff like that.
If you look at Barry’s followers, they are kids who have been attending Bill Ayers’ style of public school which teaches nothing but American Guilt. The history texts I’ve seen are simply manifestos of American evil.
In other words, Barry is hatching eggs fertilized in grade schools whose whole contribution is to mediocracy and sameness.

Comment by Anonymous | 2008-07-07 00:04:35

A good point. Barry is not the real problem. His followers are. The left in general and the democrats specifically have spent DECADES now, brain washing our children. Instead of stopping that and setting those responsible to dangle at the end of a rope, we’ve been tolerant of that. Tolerance breeds evil. And that evil has now engulfed the entire democratic party, pushing out all the normal folk. If allowed to continue, it will engulf the entire nation.

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-07-07 00:19:05

I’m a little freaked out by seeing “tolerance” and “dangle at the end of a rope” following one another. The commenter is Anonymous, so it’s no one I recognize. I’m no angel, but those words are perhaps inappropriate.

You should vote for McCain against your personal interest based on Obama’s voice. To me this sums up the whole anti-Obama campaign. It is fueled by Republicans and Democrats like you. Does this make sense to anyone but you?

The people who are getting to really know what there is to “know” about Obama — do not like him at all.

Many people who generally are not interested in politics are very angry — even I am surprised at the anger in people’s voices when they speak of the way the DNC has shut out the people’s choice — Hillary Clinton.

Comment by s. hall | 2008-07-07 02:54:28

Northwest Rain — People stop my husband and I to speak about their fear of Obama. They don’t trust him and will not vote for him. We all get scared because it appears that nothing is being done by the Republicans against Obama. But we must remember that in Summer most people aren’t paying attention. I listened to excerpts from Obama’s book Dreams of My Father. He goes on and on about White People. It is obvious that he is a racist. We need to wait for Fall and the Republicans to get their act together. We know unlike the Democrats that Republicans WANT TO WIN.

I read somewhere that Precious One had to retreat to Bali to complete his book. What are the odds that THE ONE had hep writing this masterpiece? Is it a proven fact that he even wrote it? Because his unrehearsed comments don’t sound too smart, makes you wonder if someone else wrote it and he took the credit. Just saying.

Comment by NewHampster | 2008-07-06 20:23:09

Don’t know but in NH I heard Bill Richardson say his book was ghost written like everyone’s. He was kind of funny answering a question and said something to that effect followed by “none of us write our own books”.

Comment by csuzeq | 2008-07-06 21:27:20

I have always thought someone else wrote both books and his speech at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. I know BO says he wrote it himself, but I just plain don’t buy it knowing how the guy talks when he doesn’t have a prepared speech (by his young speech write) or a teleprompter (with words someone else is feeding him).

Comment by csuzeq | 2008-07-06 21:29:31

He also claims he is disorganized. At one of the debates he said that he tells his aids not to give him a piece of paper until a minute before he needs it because he’ll lose it (that was my first uh-huh moment, don’t want a POTUS who needs help). If that’s true, how could he organize an outline for a book???

Comment by Patti | 2008-07-07 07:08:52

That was in response to the question:

What would you say is your worst fault/ shortcoming?

Comment by Ellen | 2008-07-06 21:57:59

Prove that he did not write the books or the speech in 2004….you can’t because he did write all. He has always been complimented on his writing skills - so just give credit where it is deserved, okay? You guys keep reaching for anything that you can attack him - is it really that interesting for you to keep on with the same old attacks? You all write in the same way, so am wondering how many of you posters there are?

ELLEN — Obama’s anti-war speech may never have been given by Obama at all. There is no record of him ever giving that 2002 speech. They had to recreate it in order to use that in commercials. So his entire reason for running was made up.

Ellen, it was the artful, masterful one who gave rise to these suspicions.
He klepts everything in sight.

I highly doubt that he had a ghostwriter. This mysterious one is truly majestic and he had to grace us all with his self importance.

Who writes to bios at the ages of 35/ 36? Memoirs of what?

The mighty propagandist! He needed to disown his whiteness which ironically is the very thing that makes him eligible to run for the American presidency.

He winks as he speaks. He calls it “campaign rhetoric”.

Media under the bus: Obama’s New Strategy BLAME THE MEDIA

The Senator unveiled a new strategy in his campaign today, instead of throwing long time friends or campaign workers under the bus, he is going after the Press. If you remember the other day when he seemed to flip-flop on Iraq, he had a second press conference because he felt that his initial words might have been confusing. Today he came out and blamed the confusion on the Media. Senator, you better be careful and not upset the media, after all they might actually start cover you for real, and you know that will not be a good thing.

oh yeah!
The way he speaks about his faith (if that is what it is) always sounds stilted and rehearsed. Comments like .. paraphrased… I decided to follow the teachings of Jesus.
Not the much more common, ‘I accepted Christ as my Savior.’
The Muslim angle as it refers to their calling for his death as a converted Muslim is quite interesting. Consider also that according to Islamic law, it is totally permissible and DESIRABLE to lie to Infidels, thus validating the Islamic ‘non-response’ regarding Obama’s conversion to Christianity.

Comment by HRocks | 2008-07-06 22:52:27

All books that are sold by major bookseller have at least one if not more EDITORS. These are often people who ghostwrite (that is what someone who actually writes the book for the “author” is called) as well as edit.

Here’s an example: in the book, BO “describes” meeting his 1/2 sister from Africa at an airport with lots of descriptive language. In an interview of this 1/2 sister that was videotaped, she describes meeting him at the bus station. In reality, she did not fly, she took a bus.

This is a perfect example of the kind of thing an editor would do - create a compelling, descriptive and believable chapter from someone’s personal story. However, since it looks like BO didn’t bother to proof read the book, it has a HUGE mistake in it.

An airport vs a bus station.

Just google “James Frey” and memoir for more info.

Also, IMHO, his “race speech” that he “stayed up all night writing himself” is BS. No one writes a 45 minute speech in an “all nighter”. It took a team of several real writers and hours of conversation to come up with that.

Actually, all the proof you need that he did not write that speech was the very visible assertion that he wrote it himself from his campaign.

He didn’t write any of this stuff. People were paid to write it.

-last note, the editor’s contract surely had a “gag-order” clause to keep it secret. This is the normal way of doing things in the book business.

Comment by standard | 2008-07-06 22:02:37

just as an aside. The “white folks greed” crack from Rev. Wright is kinda funny given the monster of a McMansion he’s building himself.

A good video would be playing the audio of the speech while the video is a tour of his swanky Preacher’s Palace.

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-07-07 01:07:22

If elected, Obama says, he would immediately withdraw thousands of ground troops from Iraq and send them to Afghanistan to help undermanned US forces defeat the Taliban and Al Qaeda.

“It’s time to refocus our attention on the war we have to win in Afghanistan,” Obama said in a speech last week. “It is time to go after the Al Qaeda leadership where it actually exists.”

The Illinois senator, whose opposition to the Iraq war is a campaign centerpiece, has concluded that the US presence there has fanned Islamic terrorism and diverted scarce military resources from taking on new terrorist camps in Afghanistan and Pakistan, where Al Qaeda operatives trained for the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

Obama believes that the United States has relied too heavily on forces from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, a Europe-based military alliance which has little experience in guerrilla warfare.

Some of my middle-aged coworkers think that Obama is a sure winner, because “there’s no way the Republicans can win this year”. They personally would never vote for him, but they imagine that there are all these “others” out there who will simply flock to the polls and cast their striaght Democratic ballots. Listening to the MSM on TV would, of course, convince people of this if they seek out no other forum. Of all the BO supporters I know, all are black except for one old white hippie. I don’t know why people can’t reason that there are just not enough of the typical Obama demographic to win the GE. It just shows you the power of propaganda.
