Hillary’s Holdouts, and a Message to Obama Supporters

Bob Ostertag at Huffington Post is urging Obama donors “who are angry about his about-face on the upcoming FISA legislation” to donate instead this month to Russ Feingold’s senate reelection. Feingold, Ostertag says, “is carrying on the fight that Obama walked away from.” Mr. Ostertag notices a “spike” in donations to Feingold. So far, so good.

Then Ostertag warns his readers away from the “PUMA movement” because it “may indeed be a Republican troll operation.” No, Mr. Ostertag. Granted, there are a few groups out of HUNDREDS in the Just Say No Deal coalition that are pro-McCain, but that occurs with any large coalition and we here at No Quarter, as do most, strongly disagree with the few’s emphasis solely on McCain. We are pro-Hillary.

However, some of us are “sticking it to” the Democratic party at the moment for its ill-advised recent behavior, just as YOU are doing to Obama by withholding donations. You’re employing a tactic. So are we.

Frankly, I think you know that too, Mr. Ostertag, and perhaps you are worried that Obama’s supporters may take a look at JustSayNoDeal.com.

We support Hillary Clinton, who voted to protect MoveOn’s right to speech against Sen. John Cornyn’s amendment while Obama, although he was on site, hid away and didn’t vote. The irony: MoveOn has never been a friend to Sen. Clinton and has embraced Obama, who didn’t have Sen. Clinton’s courage to stand up for his own benefactors.

We support Hillary Clinton who has the endorsement of over 30 flag officers who want to get out of Iraq just as badly as you, but who know Hillary has the REAL knowledge of military and foreign affairs to carry it off, and who can speak coherently without having to hold two press conferences within two hours to clarify a clarification.

We support Hillary Clinton because she is for truly universal health care, the protection of Social Security, and saving Medicare (currently under frightening assault), while Mr. Obama’s advisers are pro-partial privatization. And Mr. Obama?

Mr. Obama seems more interested in wooing the religious right with an expansion of Bush’s faith-based initiatives rather than strengthening our existing, essential federal safety nets. I found a passionate statement at Sen. Clinton’s senate site on the pending cuts to Medicare — which have alarmed every health care provider across our nation — but not one word at Mr. Obama’s senate or campaign sites. We support Hillary because she knows much more, but also because she shows her convictions. Update: I note that Sen. McCain is being pressured by physicians’ groups to break the Republican minority stranglehold on the Medicare cuts, which will dramatically affect health care for senior citizens, who are reliable voters. (The Hill has a detailed article.)

Below, a video clip from last night’s CNN AC360 on “Hillary’s Holdouts”:

Transcript:

So, beyond those poll numbers, there’s the cash factor. Clinton supporters, from rank-and-file Democrats to major donors, don’t seem to be ponying up the money that the Obama campaign had hoped to see.

Up close tonight, why they’re holding out. Here’s 360’s Joe Johns.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

JOE JOHNS, CNN CONGRESSIONAL CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, the picture of Democratic unity, they are scheduled for three fund-raisers together in New York this week. But when it comes to campaign cash, this political kumbaya might have its limits.

Some fund-raisers for Hillary Clinton are pressuring the Obama campaign to honor her policy positions and her campaign debt. They want her name placed in nomination at the Democratic Convention. And they are balking at writing checks for Obama.

LYNN FORESTER, MAJOR CLINTON DONOR: I certainly know there are lots of people who are withholding their money.

JOHNS: Businesswoman Lynn Forester launched a Web site bringing Clinton supporters together to pressure Obama. She is one of the so- called HillRaisers, who brought in at least $100,000 each to Clinton. She hasn’t given money to Obama, and hasn’t decided whether she will.

FORESTER: This is a hard decision for me personally, because, frankly, I don’t like him. I feel like he is an elitist. I feel like he has not given me reason to trust him.

JOHNS (on camera): It’s hard to say how many big donors might balk when it comes to Obama. Some political observers expect gushers of money by Election Day. But, if you were looking for early leading indicators that most of Clinton’s deep-pocketed supporters are throwing open their wallets for the presumptive nominee, we’re not seeing them.

(voice-over): The Center for Responsive Politics and “The Wall Street Journal” crunched the numbers from May, when Obama was wrapping up the primary. About 115 people who donated at least $1,000 to Senator Clinton were making their first big donations to Obama.

But here’s the twist. Roughly the same number of former Clinton donors were making large donations to John McCain.

(on camera): So, what’s the problem? Some say Obama is shifting positions. Some say Hillary Clinton should get a large role in both the convention and the fall campaign. And some of those die-hard Clinton supporters say they are angry because of the perceived sexism in the coverage of their candidate.

REP. DEBBIE WASSERMAN SCHULTZ (D), FLORIDA: So we need to address that issue, but we need to not take it out on Barack Obama, because it was not his fault.

JOHNS (voice-over): Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Florida spent the last two days in New York, talking to disaffected Clinton supporters. She says the answer is simple.

SCHULTZ: It’s not unexpected that they count just automatically shift over to Obama, because they’re not the typical Democratic supporters that just automatically shift over. They need to be wooed. They need to be, you know — they need to be, um, won over.

JOHNS (on camera): Barack Obama needs to show them some love?

SCHULTZ: He does.

JOHNS (voice-over): The Obama campaign says it fully expects the Hill-raisers to come around and won’t comment on the charges of sexism in the primary race. Needless to say, John McCain isn’t exactly cooling his heels here. He’s trying to lure Clinton supporters into his camp. He needs all the help he can get.

Joe Johns, CNN, Washington.

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton on Vote on the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act

WASHINGTON, DC—Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton today issued the following statement on the failure of the Senate to pass a Medicare bill that would have stopped a cut in payments to physicians and provided other improvements to Medicare:

“Once again, Senate Republicans have stood in the way of improving health care for some of our nation’s most vulnerable citizens. The bill blocked last night would not only have prevented a 10.6 percent cut in payments to physicians who care for the 44 million seniors and people with disabilities on Medicare, but also would have made improvements in preventive care and for low-income beneficiaries. The bill also contained important provisions that I have long championed to advance electronic prescribing and our ability to measure the quality of care that patients receive. As the Senate begins its efforts to ensure that every American has access to high quality, affordable health care, it is critical that Republicans put politics aside to make the necessary improvements in the healthcare system. Passage of this Medicare legislation is an important first step and one that I hope my colleagues will support in the future.”

Thanks Lynn! “I don’t like him.” or trust or believe he’s got any pertinent experience to be next POTUS if ever.

Finaly bit by bit, trickle by tricle the MSM will start hearing and reporting the ‘real deal’ about Obambi.

One thing I’ve learned over several years of blogging etc., is that we find out the news and truth about people and situations way long before the MSM picks things up.

Comment by Dawnelle | 2008-07-09 10:14:35

And it gets quite frustrating waiting for them to catch up. IF they get the news at ALL.

I am more saddened by those networks that cherry pick the news and take out stuff that they think will be bad for their Messiah. It’s very 3rd Reich!

How is Hillary voting on the FISA bill?

don’t know and no one seems to care what’s happening with Hillary anymore

they’ve crowned him already

I do not know what kind of kool-aid Sgt. Shultz is consuming but I do not want to be wooed, sweet talked, shown love!!!! I want the best candidate, Hillary Clinton. I do not want a crook, terrorist loving, Black Liberation Theology practicing, narcissist egomaniac.

I was offended by the “wooing” comment too. Wooing might be also be called pandering and oblahma is very capable at that and its meaningless. No amount of wooing or pandering to Hillary supporters would ever make me trust him.

Comment by s. hall | 2008-07-09 12:53:24

imustprotest — Wooing and screwing — thats all the Democratic Party has become. Why didn’t they vet Obama? When Obama played the race card and the sexist card why didn’t Dean say this will not be a part of our campaign. They were willing to allow Obama to say anything because he was the nominee they wanted. Now with almost a majority of Democrats saying they will never support him and a significant number going for McCain they will try to woo us as they screw us. I want to hear an apology from Howard Dean and Nancy Pelosi to the effect that they used to Democratic Party to give us the nominee of their choice and that they are sorry because this guy can’t cut it. More chance of seeing Pigs fly however, as the Democratic base continues to flee for safe ground — who knows what the buzzwords will be next week. Hold on to your wallets — money is power.

Comment by DAB | 2008-07-09 13:42:00

He said he wouldn’t woo because he had to concentrate on McCain and he hasn’t wooed (at least kept his word on that one) so frankly it’s way too late to woo. Beside PUMAs are fierce and unwooable anyways, so he should just save his breath.

The MSM are paid not to get things. If they really wanted to understand reality, they would. but they pretend they know nothing. Like Charlie Rose, the Groundhog Day interviewer, who finally seems to “get it” then the next day he is the same old obtuse, dense, unknowing bloviator.

So now PUMA has been found out as a Rethug front - oh no you were not Pro McCain just Pro Hillary.

To those who will now go back and work to rid the White House of Rethugs, welcome back.

(I also agree with helping Feingold. Only half the Democrats backed FISA on the last vote - encourage more to stop it).

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-07-09 12:58:37

Just Say No Deal has many members who will vote for McCain.

It’s non-partisan.

And that’s as it should be.

I also agree that their 10% sounds pretty low. Guess we’ll find out on Election Day. Anyways July polls are historically misleading. Check out

for an interesting assessment of how so many July Leaders have lost most of the recent elections and Obama isn’t that far ahead (2% Gallup tracking, 5 or 6 in other polls) There also appears to be trouble on down the road for him.

There are many many ‘holdouts’. Read the following comments from a non-political figure skating forums. We, PUMAs are growing stronger and stronger every day.
http://www.mkforum.net/forum/showthread.php?t=20774&page=55

I know that when this whole thing started out, I was not a Hillary fan at all. I told myself I would hold my nose and vote her if she became the nominee. After watching her on the campaign trail and in the debates, she really grew on me and I think she would be one of the best and most prepared Presidents in the history of the US. I agree with Chelsea that her mom would probably be even better than Bill was.

Also, in January, I would have been OK with ANY of the candidates. As time went on, Obama started smelling like old cheese to me, and Richardson dropped off my list too.

The reason I changed my mind about Obama:

1. He never said anything specific in his speeches. I was always told to go to his website to see his “plans”.

2. He was more of a motivational speaker than someone talking issues.

3. As good of an orator as he is with a prepared stump speech, he is absolutely AWFUL when he goes off script. The longer I saw Hillary and Barack side by side, the more evident it became this guy had a problem thinking quickly on his feet. This does not bode well for someone who is going to have such power at his fingertips.

4. His associations: Rev. Wright is at the top of the list, Rezko, etc.

5. After doing research on the internet and learning how he got elected to the Illinois legislature (using technicalities to bump opposition out of the race so he ran unopposed and won) and then his US Senate campaign was against very weak competition, it was apparent that Hillary was the first candidate of substance he went up against and he had a huge problem with her.

6. His “periodically when she is feeling a little down” “her claws come out” “she launches attacks” “You’re likeable enough” “I can get her voters but she won’t be able to get mine…” pick your favorite Hillary slam.

7. False claims that he was running a “positive” campaign. It was anything BUTT that.

8. False claims about his grassroots fundraising.

9. Many of things he wrote in his books about race.

10. Allowing his surrogates to play the race card and painting the Clintons as racist (behind the scenes)

11. His quickness to claim that people who don’t support him are bitter and have antipathy towards those who are not like him especially when he is a black 48 year-old inexperienced guy with a funny name.

12. His woefully thin resume.

I could go on and on, but I went from being willing to vote for him if he is the nominee to believing I can’t get a clothespin big enough or strong enough to put on my nose to keep the stench out if I vote for him. Of Hillary, people have posted in blogs that they are ready for a woman President, just not this woman. Well, I am willing to vote for a black person, but not for His Worshipfulness.

Comment by Dawnelle | 2008-07-09 10:17:58

the networks must be noticing because MOM just turned on the TV and I heard her surfing from ONE channel “blah, blah, blah Barack Obama, blah, blah”

to another news channel

“blah, blah, blah Barack Obama, blah, blah”

to another

“blah, blah, blah Barack Obama, blah, blah”

finally I hear it turn OFF! LOL

Neither of us can stand to hear his name any longer. I will barely even READ anything about him any more. Just can’t stand the nauseous feeling. It’s very similar to the feeling I get when I see Prick Cheney and his wife!

Comment by imustprotest | 2008-07-09 11:12:54

Rumsfeld had that effect on me as well.

Comment by Dawnelle | 2008-07-09 11:28:59

what a FREAK!

Dick just gives me that immediate “I want to slap you” feeling!

same as Barky, Michelle, Dean, Roosevelt (rbc), Odonna, Keith, Jack (the list is growing) oh and I can’t forget CLAIRE!!! omg give her a drink and send her back to school and teach her and Caroline Kennedy that their KIDS SHOULD NOT BE MAKING ELECTION DECISIONS FOR THEM!!

Comment by dnesser | 2008-07-09 11:30:42

I agree with “Hillaryfighter” completely. I will never vote for Obama. I believe the way to vote is a Split Ticket. McCain for Experience and character and a Democratic Congress for the issues. All signs seem to say that the House and Senate are going to be strongly Democratic. We can not afford a Rookie President and a Congress that will blindly follow him.

Comment by DAB | 2008-07-09 13:51:21

That is what I plan to do too.

Comment by LB | 2008-07-09 13:49:46

Thanks for posting that, for it comes real close to summing up my own catalogue of reasons for rejecting Obama — though I would have moved Rezko up higher on the list. Obama’s 18-year relationship with Rezko, including the side-by-side, same day, property purchase by the two families — tells me that Obama is (forgive the plain language) crooked. That is easily my #1 reason for opposing him.

Comment by meileen | 2008-07-09 13:57:55

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

You’ve put into words my exact experience this campaign season. The more I watched Hillary take the crap they threw at her, the more I grew to respect her. She is formidable, and would have been our best president by far. Such a waste, and all due to the maneuverings of the DNC with their new puppet.

I am ashamed of this party, ashamed of this grand experiment called democracy.

Comment by Gloria | 2008-07-09 23:30:55

Ginny, this is how it was for me too. I was really really annoyed with her when she voted for the Iraq War, partly because I was against the war, but also partly because I honestly think she was against it at heart but was unwilling to speak up for what she truly believed. The second part was always what frustrated me most about her. But when she started campaigning for the WH, she began to speak a lot more from her heart, about where she’s coming from in her positions, and I was so impressed by the way she handled herself, her poise, her stamina, her unbelievable amount of knowledge on issues. I just think that this is one incredible human being–man or woman–and will be an incredible asset to our country if this person is our president. Her not winning the White House is really our loss.

As far as the electoral map goes, she really could’ve pulled in some independents and I do believe a significant number of Republican women. I have Republican women friends who would never ever vote Democrat who totally surprise me by telling me that if Hillary runs then they will vote Democrat. I can’t say that I fully understand her appeal to Republican women, but I’ve seen enough anecdotal evidence to believe that they identify with her on some fundamental level.

And wow you really did your research on his Worshipfulness. Suffice it to say that I have found the same information that you did, and you actually did more research on him than I. Anyway, this is why I get kind of annoyed when his supporters resorts to saying that those of us who don’t like him are just “bitter”, or more offensively “racists”. Yes there’s a lot of hard feelings, but beyond that there are many of us who have read up on all the information–facts and opinions–about him and just concluded that we haven’t found enough merits to support him.

“…And finally, on another personal note, I come to this decision from the perspective of a Senator from New York who has seen all too closely the consequences of last year’s terrible attacks on our nation. In balancing the risks of action versus inaction, I think New Yorkers who have gone through the fires of hell may be more attuned to the risk of not acting. I know that I am.
So it is with conviction that I support this resolution as being in the best interests of our nation. A vote for it is not a vote to rush to war; it is a vote that puts awesome responsibility in the hands of our President and we say to him - use these powers wisely and as a last resort…”

Comment by CJ | 2008-07-09 11:22:09

Obama’s latest flip….he shouldn’t have allowed an interview with his daughters! He didn’t catch it quickly enough, suddenly cropped up…yikes…! Can we really afford to have someone as POTUS who can’t catch things quickly enough?

Obama states:

“I think that we got carried away in the moment,” Obama told NBC Wednesday morning. “We were having a birthday party and everybody was laughing, and suddenly this thing cropped up, and I didn’t catch it quickly enough and I was surprised by the attention it got.”

Comment by beebop | 2008-07-09 11:33:49

If a simple thing like access to his children is beyond his thought process, then access to state secrets should certainly be a problem for Barry.

Comment by alibe4hillary | 2008-07-09 11:52:44

Obama never did catch anything. His adviser was the one to point out how stupid it was. If Obama didn’t have poor judgement, he would have no judgemnet at all.

Comment by Judy | 2008-07-09 12:09:14

I sincerely doubt that “suddenly this thing cropped up”. This is another example of Obama bending the truth when he gets hit with a bad reaction to his words or (mis)deeds. It does seem as if some of his supporters are catching on. I went to the Orange Site last night and there was much gnashing of teeth and rending of clothing over the FISA bill. I read through an entire lengthy thread and there was only a smattering of lukewarm efforts to defend him.

Her voting for the Iraq War was part of what endeared me to her–spoken like a true hair-brained conservative. I think she was following her heart at the time, but the War has turned into a life and money-wasting disaster. Actually I always liked the Clintons, and in fact voted for Bill in 1992 and 1996. They’ve been fairly moderate which I appreciate, and they have style with substance (His Worshipfullness should take some lessons from them).

These ignorant bastards in the Dem party are STILL acting like the sexism & the cheating never took place during the primary.

There are no words to describe the absolute rage I’m feeling about this whole Obama mess.

Newly Independent — IT WAS BARACK’S FAULT. The song he sang after he won the Iowa Caucus. I Got 99 Problems But The Bitch Ain’t One. Giving Hillary the finger on 2 occasions. Saying that there are certain times when women get emotional. Obama is the Sexist in Chief. Obama played the Sexist Card because like Dean he thought women would fold and go along with the program. Funny though when Obama ran out of gas and was sooooooo tired Hillary was out there everyday as bright as a new penny.

I guess it was so hard for Obama because he doesn’t know if he’s black or white, liberal or conservative, should his voice sound southern or northern. It takes so much out of you. Poor thing.

Comment by Newly Independent | 2008-07-09 12:50:32

Yep - that bastard IS responsible (along with the media) for the rampant sexism that went on during the primary.

Which is why it pisses me off to see women - WOMEN - defending this scumbag and trying to downplay what has happened in the past six months! I look at them and think, “Where in the hell is your pride and self-respect?” “Why are you STILL supporting a politician who has NO RESPECT for you?” You know?

BO and Dean, Pelosi, Brazile, they all think we are so stupid… that’s what irritates me the most.
They just think we don’t notice these things, even on Fox it never stops… they are talking about some idiots comments in the NYt or post, and saying that BO supporters should not be asked to pay down Hillary’s debt, because they don’t like her and its her fault for spending all that money to attack him (fox commentator remarks)
When did Hillary ask BO to pay down her debt? Did I miss that one? Its only a BO ploy to continue to fan the hate against Hillary.

anninCa — I would bet that Obama is being told in no uncertain terms that he had better get these millions of Democrats back. Maybe thats why he’s so tired. They promised him that this was a done deal and now he actually has to pander.

Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz has been threatened in various ways by the Obama/DNC machine-not to mention local thugs. I live in FL. and know what’s going on locally-it’s not pretty.
All of the ardent Clinton supporters who didn’t cave immediately are being strong-armed. The only way to combat these tactics is to donate to candidates, like Wasserman-Schultz, Feingold, Jones, and other true Dems who backed Clinton.

Comment by DAB | 2008-07-09 14:02:08

I always liked Wasserman — she seemed to work hard to get a fair shake for Hillary. These Reps are really under intense pressure to fold or bear the consequences.

Just look at what happened to respected Civil Rights leader and long time Congressman John Lewis who has attracted Primary opponents just because he didn’t leave Hillary for Obama fast enough. It is just outrageous! I also heard that other black Clinton supporters have even received death threats on top of the more mundane “we’ll vote you out!”

We can’t let this gang get ahold of Washington — they have to be stopped someway!

SCHULTZ: It’s not unexpected that they count just automatically shift over to Obama, because they’re not the typical Democratic supporters that just automatically shift over. They need to be wooed. They need to be, you know — they need to be, um, won over.

Is it me or was this remark kind of sexist? It’s almost like she’s saying that women are too emotional or something.

Comment by roseeriter | 2008-07-09 10:25:21

Well, Obama can woo woo woo all he wants, as many of his early supporters start to boo hoo hoo. Most of us here knew, knew, knew what he could and could not do, do, do!

she’s YOUNG (Debbie)

that’s all I have to say about her because I still admire her for the great part she had in the 30 something working group.

Comment by Chuck | 2008-07-09 11:29:15

It’s also sexist in that it suggests Obama-rejection is solely a women’s movement.

Comment by s. hall | 2008-07-09 12:12:21

Chuck — Of course its sexist and I think this is what bugs me most about what the DNC has done. They treated Hillary like a bond slave and now they are treating Women Democrats the same way. For their information — Millions of men voted for Hillary and they can’t stand the forced Obama UNITY either. Whatever next, Burkas and Lock Boxes?

Comment by AliasJohnDoe | 2008-07-09 12:16:34

I agree. The MSM are ignoring the “men” who don’t support Obama. It doesn’t fit into their proposed narrative of how they see it. MSM Idiots.

Sal — However this remark by Ed Schultz and Debbie Wasserman Schultz is the new buzz phrase–we need to be wooed. Despite Obama’s objection Hillary’s name will be placed in nomination because they cannot afford to lose millions of Democratic Votes. Its not enough for me — because I’ve looked behind the curtain at the real Democratic Party and its sexist underbelly and I will never go back. However, it will be interesting to watch as they try to turn on the charm. I predict we won’t see too much of Donna Brazile for a while. We will however, see a lot more women out there trying to corral us ever so gently. HELL NO I WON’T GO. peace

Comment by Bigtime | 2008-07-09 13:38:14

No informed, educated discussion for you. You get wooing. Is this a date or the Presidency?

BTW: I am a male, and wooing me is out of the question. Hussein Obama is unelectable.

PS: I became a PUMA on June 2nd after 32 years as a Democrat and I will never vote for Precious. I want the best candidate, Hillary Clinton.!!
Never, ever, Obama.
I spend my days informing people. They do not like the information that is coming out. The O’s friend standing on the flag picture is a favorite.

He can “woo” me til kingdom comes, but he’s not getting my money nor my vote! He’s not qualified with his anti-american, anti-white, anti-semetic friends and religion - not now, not tomorrow, maybe not ever. That’s a deal breaker for me! Frankly, I’m disappointed in Hillary for being so willing to endorse him after what his campaign did to Bill and her with the race card - I understand why she’s doing it, but I just about throw up everytime I see her name linked with his. The DNC can kiss my grits - I re-registered undeclared.

Just read in the LA Times today how “tired” Obambi is with all the attention focused on him on a day to day basis - he just can’t take it and isn’t used to it! THIS is who we want in the Oval Office? Guess he’ll break Bush’s record for vacation days.

Comment by alibe4hillary | 2008-07-09 11:59:28

It is hard for a person who isn’t who they pretend to be to be in the spotlight day after day. Hillary, on the other hand, is authentic and used to being in the spotlight and is secure in who she is and what she knows. She doesn’t have to pretend to be intelligent and knowledgeable. Obama is going to crash and burn one day soon.

I know a great way to stop all the media attention–GIVE IT UP. Obama hasn’t got what it takes. If Obama had been held by the Vietcong I wonder how long it would have taken him to give our secrets away. McCain was tortured for 5 years. Even when they would have allowed him to go free he stayed with his men because he didn’t want the VietCong –who knew his father and grandfather were Admirals to use his release as propaganda. THAT IS A REAL MAN WITH STAMINA and thats a man who could do the job on Day 1.

Comment by Paul F. Villarreal | 2008-07-09 13:55:14

Obama has no capacity for work. Zero. He is very weak that way and this is why he had to go to the Virgin Islands during the campaign while Hillary was still out working her hands to the bone. He is weak, physically and mentally, and he is used to coasting and having things handed to him, like legacy and affirmative action admittances to Harvard.

Turning to what Susan and Ostertag wrote: The PUMA/Just Say No Deal coalition is not about GOP trolls. As Susan said, of course there will be elements of that in such a large grouping. However, it is in the Obama crew’s interest to PORTRAY the movement as a GOP one. That is what is happening here, and why you have seen innumerable bots and their blogs try to raise that bogus charge.

The majority of us — including those such as myself who have already begun to help and donate to McCain — are lifelong Dems who are simply totally committed to making sure that those coupists in the DNC and the party elite do NOT see their efforts rewarded. Because we know what the follow-through will be if they get Bambi through: the certification of their sexist, elitist, Stalinist tactics. We don’t want that to happen.

And so we are taking steps to prevent such a triumph of oligarchical nonsense. Some will stay home if BHO is nominated, others will vote for McCain. Still others will vote for Nader, or McKinney. And so on.

The unifying feature, however, of all of these people is that they want to see the illegitimate candidate and his puppetmasters defeated. That is what binds us, not some supposed “GOP trolldom.” All accounts of same are mere Bambian propaganda efforts and should be given the attention they are due: none.

Well said Paul. IMO a vote for Oblahma is a vote for sexism, thuggery and disenfranchisement. The “anything to win” strategy must no be condoned, it must be defeated.

Perdue, you asked for it and you got it - good! How’d it feel to not get kissed?

I think one HUGE lesson learned with this election year is to setup an email address strictly for use during the election process that can be deleted/disposed if you continue to receive emails from those from whom you’ve tried to unsubscribe.
