We Aren’t Listening

Apparently running with some trial balloon by not playing the race card for a change, the Obama camp has a new explanation for the unbelievers. We are hearing impaired. According to MissEYEUhh Barky, the reason so many of us are criticizing him is because we haven’t been listening.

Obama Says His Critics Haven’t Been Listening

“Look, let me talk about the broader issue, this whole notion that I am shifting to the center,” he told a crowd gathered at a town hall-style meeting in this Atlanta suburb. “The people who say this apparently haven’t been listening to me.”

So inclined to consider himself a common man, Barky imagines that if he suffered from a hearing problem for those 20 long years he was in that racist church that he didn’t know about maybe, just maybe that is the same problem the rest of us have. He’s hoodwinking hoping so.

He might just as well have come right out and said: “Look deep into my eyes.” Because that is the routine he is laying on us. “I Barky the All Wise have made your mind up for you.”

And when you translate the Cult-speak the message is clear: “Hey, see that cliff over there. Wouldn’t it be great fun if we all ran over it?”

Lessee…

He agrees with Scalia on gun control. He wants to kill child rapists. But don’t we all? And he wants to spy on Americans. Except that he wants it to be legal spying. Institutionalized. Allowed.

And yet we are told that we aren’t listening.

I am someone who is no doubt progressive

In a world where freedom equals slavery that might be true. But I will never consider any government progressive that wants to take away my constitutional rights.

Barky Sweetie. May I call you Sweetie?

It ain’t progress when you start taking stuff away.

Oh, and Sweetie… PUMAs have fine hearing. Exceptional in fact. We hear you loud and clear. That is why we criticize you. Hear us roar.

Clearly you are the one with a hearing problem.

Is it listening as in hearing, or listening as in we’re all a bunch of fucking morons?

When Obama says that the DC gun ban is constitutional, then 5 judges say “no no no!”, and then Obama says he agrees with the judges, why that’s just our fault.

Who is Hussein Obama trying to kid?

Comment by s. hall | 2008-07-10 02:03:19

NoObamislamists Obama’s problem is that he only listens to and tries to impress those he is with at the moment. Which is why there is a blacky tape out there showing him with a white group making fun of AA’s.

Obama is intellectually superior to the rest of us (he thinks) and therefore we just don’t get him. I know I don’t get him. I like someone who talks straight and stands for something.

Comment by Ellen D | 2008-07-10 08:34:25

Oh, I get him all right. And so do the rest of the PUMAS. His problem is that more and more people are getting him every day.

I am amused at the mental machinations his true believers are going through now to justify their idolatry. Kind of like the American Communists when Stalin kept switching positions during WWII.

Also, on FISA, people overlook the fact that FISA implicates the Fourth and the First Amendment. They are our two most important freedoms. Political speech and the ability to oppose the administration in power are what democracy is all about.

Yes, my hearing is okay, and so is my reading ability.

Comment by Charles | 2008-07-09 17:54:51

The second amendment is the most important one. Without that, the entire Constitution means squat.

Comment by Morgan | 2008-07-09 18:28:29

I agree. Prisoners can probably talk until their tonsils fall out, but it doesn’t make them any closer to being free. Second amendment is at least as important as any other, and maybe the keystone.

“I am amused at the mental machinations his true believers are going through now to justify their idolatry. Kind of like the American Communists when Stalin kept switching positions during WWII.”

Exactly.

Obama’s followers would rather die three times over than admit that they made a SERIOUS mistake in putting all of their faith in Mr. “hope” and “change.” His flop on the extremely important FISA bill today is only the beginning of how Obama will continue to destroy this country if he’s elected.

Comment by jwrjr | 2008-07-09 22:40:35

Will the FISA bill survive a Constitutional challenge? It doesn’t seem likely. And Obama will still be on the record as voting for it.

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-07-09 18:16:03

Exactly so. I think he made this comment in reference to Iraq. That issue alone has proven to be his downfall.

He made his Iraq position the centerpiece of his primary campaign. He cannot flip-flop now and expect to remain credible on that one.

The pundits are attempting to pretend that this flip-flopping is normal, to be expected, etc. I have no clue as to what they are talking about. It’s the kiss of death to reverse positions as he has done. The way he did it, for example, on public financing was particularly despicable. He actually had the audacity to pretend it was a decision he made on principle. Good golly!

Ditto for FISA.

You are correct. His problem is that we ARE listening. Carefully. And we’re documenting him, too. On u-tubes. Daily.

He IS accountable to the public. He is acting as though he is not, and the KOS boyz are letting him get away with it.

Comment by Clinton Fan | 2008-07-09 19:47:07

The children at Kos can let him get away with whatever they’d like–see, they have jumped the shark.

They overreached, made asses of themselves, and showed themselves, too, to be “less than” they claimed.

By their very hyper/anything-to-win partisanship, they did what Jesse quite accurately said BO did–cut off their own balls. They decided early on to back the brown fellow, not because his ideas were better, not because his experience was better, not because he was better suited, not because he had a better temperament…. but because “ethnic” is “cooler” than “late middle-aged female” to those loudmouths in the eighteen to thirty five (pretending to be twenty nine) demographic. And “cool” is everything to those insecure little fools.

Past a certain age and maturity level–and those kids haven’t reached it yet–”coolness” doesn’t matter. You either have self-confidence, or you don’t. You don’t (as they say, “actually”) need the approval of assholes who don’t know you or care about you. It’s quite liberating. They’ll get there one day, and maybe do the Homer Simpson “DOH!!!!” Or maybe they’ll remain blissfully stupid and self-righteous.

Now, like Jeremiah says, those “Too Cool For School” chickens are coming home to roost. The Kos children are starting to look like David Cassidy/Partridge Family or Monkees fans in 1990….a bit of a curiosity, a bit foolish, a bit, well, pathetic.

They aren’t quite as “cool” as they used to be, since their candidate has flipped, flopped, and sold them down the FISA river. They look like asses who have been easily conned.

And that will be the case no matter who wins or steals this election.

They’ll never be regarded with the same gravitas that they once were, simply because they’ve behaved badly…to be frank, like immature little punkass shits.

They flexed their muscles in a funhouse mirror. We have seen enough of them to compare the image in the mirror to the reality.

The mirror makes those little Kos-sac objects appear LARGER than they actually are.

No sale. We don’t need that idiot Bush to repeat that “won’t git fooled agin” line. And we don’t need a diminutive little Greek geek to suggest that we “get in line” for the good of the party.

It just isn’t going to happen. He hasn’t the gravitas, the command, or the believability to “lead” anyone but the suckers who cannot think for themselves, who have no where else to go.

http://blog.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2008/07/09/rep_jackson_blasts_his_father.html

Jesse Jackson Jr. just threw his own father under the bus:

“I’m deeply outraged and disappointed in Reverend Jackson’s reckless statements about Senator Barack Obama. His divisive and demeaning comments about the presumptive Democratic nominee — and I believe the next president of the United States — contradict his inspiring and courageous career,” wrote Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-Ill.), an Obama campaign co-chairman, in a statement sent out after word began spreading that his father had said something crude and deeply offensive.

The bold-faced text was his own. “Instead of tearing others down, Barack Obama wants to build the country up and bring people together so that we can move forward, together — as one nation. The remarks like those uttered on Fox by Reverend Jackson do not advance the campaign’s cause of building a more perfect Union.”

In all my years in America I have heard candidates blame the media and blame the other candidate for their own waffling back and forth but I’ve never heard one actually blame his own supporters and everyone else in this country by telling them that they are not listening. He has not taken responsibility for anything, remember the “bitter” comments, well, we and the media misinterpreted, and why he sat in Wright’s church for 20 years because it was Rev Wright’s fault, he “didn’t know him” and the media and the citizens shouldn’t pick on Michelle for saying anti-American statements, that’s our fault too. Now his own supporters that believed him during the primary season about FISA and his filibustering and that he would bring the troops home as soon as he became President, etc are to blame because they “weren’t listening.” Who is he, what is he and where the hell did he come from?

Thanks for this. Lou Dobbs’ coverage was definitely more lively than O’Reilly to my mind. It’s ironic, this thing with Jackson and Obama. Obama owes much to Jackson. Jackson had a lot to do with the changeover to proportional representation of delegates from the Democratic primaries. It’s really funny. Obama is annoying just about everybody these days. But Jackson has been around a long time and has paid his dues.

You gotta love someone as outspoken as Jesse. He says what he thinks and says what he means, even if we bitter white folks have trouble understanding him at times. But its clear there was no misinterpreting what he meant when he made these comments. And just think, here we have a pillar of the AA community making a statement that basically says “this here white boy coming into our churches telling us black men how to behave! ain’t havin none of this.” Cuz it ain’t no black man he’s talkin TO or ABOUT in that statement….. that’s for damn sure!

“Jesse Jackson point is very simple. Barack Obama rather talk about black men all having no morals than to talk about poverty, crime, imprisonment, penal code, Violence and misogyny in rap music etc. Obama doesn’t touch controversial black issues. He likes to lecture and make fun about how bad they are at basketball and they would never make it as a rapper. But there are bigger issues he can address. How about telling African Americans that the government did not developed the AIDS virus to kill them? Obama eltitist church boast that 60% of their members have a college degree, 30% have a graduate degree and 10% a PhD. Barack Obama may have left the elitist Trinity United CHurch but his snobbery and arrogance is hard to fake.

Barack Obama likes to take credit for the works of Others. When Bill COsby spoke out about Black issues, BArack Obama was silent. Obama is now going around and ripping off Bill COsby message as his own. NOw he wants to ride in like the savior of black people as if he was doing it for years. He boast about his work as a communtiy organizer in CHicago, yet the people who did the hard work gets no credit. BArack Obama is an embellisher. Tavis Smiley could have predicted this moment. Many in the black community are aware that Obama avoids controversial black issues. But he can get up in a pulpit and talk about parenting, personal responsibility and music taste.

Under Barack Obama healthcare policies, AMericans will have to pay for federal sponsored abortions. Guess how many of those babies aborted will be black? All I want for Barack Obama is to stop sterotyping the Black Communtiy. It is the democratic poarty who have made black people into victims and is the party of hyphenated Americans - Gay American, African AMerican, Hispanic AMerican, Jewish AMerican, Muslim American, irish AMerican, Italian AMerican, ……….SInce he feels an obligation to speak to African Americans about personal responsibility, I wonder when he will address his white half in a White church about child sexual abuse, Pedophila and Meth Use.”
