Obama Supporters Lose Faith, Demand Respect

I Own My Vote is unapologetically pro-Hillary, but we would be remiss if we did not pay homage to our Obama supporting brothers and sisters who have suddenly discovered that “Change You Can Believe In” was just a figment of David Axelrod’s Orwellian doublespeak

Mikael Rudolph, an Obama supporter and founder of ImpeachForPeace.org wrote on his blog on the Barack Obama website, “Oppose our call for the re-establishment of our 4th Amendment rights through opposing FISA violators and we will oppose your candidacy.”  In short, he owns his vote and pledges not to give it to Obama if he doesn’t earn it.

Obama supporter Bob Fertik, dismayed that his candidate broke his promise to filibuster the FISA bill urged fellow Obama supporters to escrow their donations until they get some R-E-S-P-E-C-T.  I Own My Vote feels your pain, Bob.  All we want is a little respect too.

Meanwhile, others who voted for Obama in the primary are rescindng their support entirely, announcing that they won’t vote for him in November.

So as the days and weeks go on, perhaps the party will unify around the idea that we own our votes.  It’s time to tell your Obama supporting contacts to sign the pledge at www.IOwnMyVote.com

I forget, what was McCain’s vote on FISA?

Comment by JozefAL | 2008-07-20 01:13:43

What does it matter, Ted? Unless you’re trying to give us the “well, McCain did it too” argument (which serves to do nothing but PROVE how PITIFUL a candidate Barack Obama actually is–how he stands for NOTHING if it might do him some political harm*), why should we care how McCain voted? But, if it’ll make you feel better, McCain didn’t vote on the resolution.

*Incidentally, that’s “politics as usual”, hardly the type of “change” that Barack’s supporters could “hope” for from him.

Comment by Lou | 2008-07-20 04:33:18

Oh you forgot? Well Hillary voted no!
Maybe you should urge the superdelegates to vote Hillary at the convention. Then the constitution will be taken out of deep freeze and warmed up. Otherwise kiss the constituion goodbye with Obama in office.
Last chance. Warm it up or throw it in the trash.

Comment by squeazzy | 2008-07-20 05:51:54

McCain did the same Obama always does…Not to be there. well I guess obama’s supporters can vote for McCain cause Obama and McCain get basically the same politics and the same ways too! :) oh no I forgot! McCain is Not a Clown and he doesn’t change his positions all the time!

I will finish reading this post, but I something important to say. As tomorrow is Sunday..I am going to pray for the trolls. I will be doing this, hoping that they will see the light and the error of their ways. So, tomorrow..I will send out my love to every troll I meet..then on Monday it will be back to business!!

I just wanted to get that off my chest. Thank you. I am going to watch the video now.

Comment by missE | 2008-07-19 19:58:43

You compassion is touching TeaMug. This post could make for a pleasant night at No Quarter as the trolls now have real “traitors” to go after. Too bad I have to go out. Gonna drink some whiskey in honor of the most excellent Senator Clinton.

I told her no, I had a writing assignment.
I was writing to Don Fowler!

PUMA makes a wonderful toast when you think about it. So maybe later…

Comment by wodiej | 2008-07-19 20:12:28

I think that’s a good idea. We could take it a step further and those of us who feel comfortable doing it, every time a troll shows up and makes a comment we can just say “we’ll pray for you”…I’m serious.

Comment by TeaMug | 2008-07-19 20:17:20

wodiej — Its interesting that Fowler would use the words frustrating and immature. I think he’s talking about Obama. As to the Obama people who now realize what a liar he is — our movement is growing. It doesn’t matter who was the first to see Obama will sell his Grandmother to win–the fact that more and more people see this before November is what’s important.

Comment by J.J. | 2008-07-19 20:34:15

Saying you are going to pray for someone you disagree with reminds me too much orf Jerry Falwell.

Comment by Andrew | 2008-07-19 20:58:06

Jerry Falwell might have preached that which many disagreed with. He scorned abortion, condemned homosexuals, etc. But, there is one thing you can say about Falwell is he didn’t hate, at least not in the conventional sense, and although it might sound condescending, a promise to pray for those who you feel most misguided is not condescension at all. No, it is merely a recognition of your inability to change another’s mind and either a hope that they will change their own minds through the realization of the truth or a plea for divine intervention. With the bots, it might be a stretch to hope for the former, for with the amount of kool-aid Obama has poured down their throat, it may be that only God can reach them.

Comment by AliasJohnDoe | 2008-07-20 01:38:58

Falwell is condescending. I guess it depends on what faith one is.

Comment by candymarl | 2008-07-19 21:31:23

Actually it has nothing to do with Falwell.

Jesus Christ directed his followers to pray for everyone. Even those those that reviled him and disagreed.

You’re a few thousand years off.

adapted from Carly Simon, your so vain…

You walked into the Party
Like you were walking into a win
Your jaw strategically raised above the eye
Your label it was red white and blue
You had one eye in the camera
The media pandered to you
And all the O-boys dreamed that they’d be your partner
They’d be your partner, and

You’re so vain
You probably think this election is about you
You’re so vain
I’ll bet you think this election is about you
Don’t you? Don’t you?

You had us several months ago
When we were still quite naive
Well, you said that we made such a winsome pair
And that you would never leave
But you gave away the things you need
And one of them was PUMAS
I had some dreams, they were votes on the Dem. Floor
Votes on the Dem. Floor, and

You’re so vain
You probably think this election is about you
You’re so vain
I’ll bet you think this election is about you
Don’t you? Don’t you?

I had some dreams they were votes on the Dem. Floor
votes on the Dem. Floor, and

You’re so vain
You probably think this vote is about you
You’re so vain
I’ll bet you think this vote is about you
Don’t you? Don’t you?

Well, I hear you went to Afghanistan
And you shot some hoops
Then you flew to Iraq
Leaving, wife, Michelle behind.

Well, you’re where you should have been all the time
on that committee, that you no votee b/c
Some Rezco friend or wife of a close friend, wife of a close friend.

You’re so vain
You probably think this election is about you
You’re so vain
I’ll bet you think this election is about you
Don’t you? Don’t you?

NOBAMA!

Comment by HARP | 2008-07-19 20:22:27

Copied from Clinton Dems

Dear Don,

It saddens me to write this letter. In a way it’s a farewell note, for you see, this letter represents every single Democrat who is either planning on voting Republican or leaving the Democratic party. This is our goodbye (in a not so bittersweet or emotional written statement.)

For you to send us a letter, demanding that we get behind NObama is outrageous. If you’ve been paying any attention to what’s been going on, you’d see that we’re STILL NOT willing to support him (I thought you guys said we’d be fine by the time the primaries were over.) You were wrong about that, what makes you think you’re not wrong about our support of ANYONE BUT NOBAMA? Do you really think we’ll be fine by August? By November? The only way you could possibly be correct with this uneducated guess you’ve been clinging to (like guns and religion) is if you ensure that Hillary’s name be put on the ballot for NOMINATION. We won’t fall over ourselves to support NObama IF he manages to weasel his way into “winning” the nomination, but you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing you didn’t screw up the ENTIRE process.

Let me get this straight: you want us to support NObama but we’re NOT supposed to expect or demand anything from him? Umm…we voted for Senator Clinton and we expected and demanded the best from her…which is EXACTLY what we received. Face it, your counterfeit candidate just isn’t up to par. He can NEVER stack up against Hillary OR Bill. We’ve had the best, we’re not settling for the rest.

So, in the infamous words (which were probably “borrowed” from someone else) of your SELECTED candidate: GET OVER IT!

SEE YOU IN DENVER!!
P.U.M.A!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Comment by eriezindian | 2008-07-19 21:13:37

I hated that letter. It was insulting and degrading to anyone who supports HRC. What makes them think that will move me (or other PUMAs) from our stance? The party leaders……not that we really have any…….are just not getting it. PUMA!!!!!!!!!

Comment by wry | 2008-07-19 21:47:01

I hated it too. And hate is a word I usually only use for liver or mosquitos or something.
The worst part was when he repeated that Barky “won”. Like maybe we didn’t understand.
Insulting jerk.
I would bet your average PUMA is more politically savvy than your average bot. That’s why this kangaroo court bothers us so much. We know how primaries are supposed to work.

Comment by Heather | 2008-07-19 21:56:07

That letter reeks of fear. Talking down to Hillary supporters, that’s a new concept from the Obama crowd. And man, how sick and twisted up it is:

“We don’t need you, but … you have to contribute!”

“We don’t want you, but … you must care what we think!”

“We’re strong, but … we need your help!”

Comment by Lou | 2008-07-20 04:40:55

He’s likeable enough BUT we hate him

Comment by UniversityofIowaJR | 2008-07-19 20:22:27

This is so amazing. The party is under shoddy leadership, it has been outraised again by McCain and the RNC, it has picked a flip-floppy joke as a nominee (our worst possible candidate), there is the great organization of PUMA and it’s affiliates, and there is problems for Obama in the leftwing of the party. He is proving me and many others right as we said he would, flipping on welfare reform, taxes, NAFTA, Iraq, Iran, Israel, Public Finance, FISA, etc., and he is doing everything including playing the race card to try and stop his upward climb in the negatives section of the recent polls.

Comment by UniversityofIowaJR | 2008-07-19 20:24:32

Oh, btw, in a year we should win, and we could have won….

Imagine,

Arkansas
Kentucky
West Virginia
Ohio
Florida
Nevada
New Mexico

All in play and most likely in the Democratic column, if only they hadn’t f***ed over the most electable democrat since FDR.

Comment by Mr. X | 2008-07-19 20:36:39

Man, I’ve been saying this all along. I’ve had maps and charts and was even linked on NoQuarter. But anyone who looks at the distribution of electoral votes for a few seconds would have known that Hillary was certain to win. She was well on her way to 400 electoral votes. Obama still has no chance.

This means they chose Obama, not because they thought he had a better chance to win, but for some other reason. I still don’t know what that reason is. Maybe it was the money. Maybe they just don’t want a Clinton anymore, though she now has more power in the Democratic Party than ever before. It’s really messed up.

Comment by s. hall | 2008-07-19 21:12:45

Mr. X — I think the fix was in for Obama because they felt they could take it all and that Obama was an amateur who would do what the party told him. Now he has turned out to be a nightmare both in personality and electablity and they want to blame the Democrats for not supporting him. The DNC is braindead.

Comment by hank48188 | 2008-07-19 22:07:26

Just read this, i’m sure you will get the idea, Obama was going to get the Church Voters. “WHY AMERICANS HATE DEMOCRATS” How To Tap Into The Obama Factor by Donna Brazile NOV.5, 2004 http://www.slate.com/id/2109328

Comment by chris | 2008-07-20 09:12:15

On the surface, they say they were looking for the next JFK to rescue them and instead they got a turnip. Now they are stuck with it but they don’t care. Part of the plan you see. To change now would cause them to lose “face” and lose their jobs and Pelosi, Dean et al could never do it.Because they have sold their souls to the real reason. I really think, based on the fine detective work out there, that someone(many suspects) wants control of our government that is standing in the shadows. We are really at risk of losing our American culture if both houses of Congress and the Presidency fall under this faux Dem party rule. Only then will the evil show itself that wants to press us into a different world order. Wake up America and vote for our heritage. Once it’s gone it will take another Civil war to get it back and our kids and grandkids will pay the price. Their heritage will be erased and they will never know the beauty and grace that was our America. Do the right thing with your vote and don’t be bullied into making a mistake that will have a disaster attached to it.

Comment by Lou | 2008-07-20 04:44:39

He doesn’t care. He’ll just steal the election from the “old man”. Don’t you know he has never ever won a single election? He just nominates himself.
This has got to stop.
No more going easy. Fight!
They don’t want a fight?
Well then they’ll have to do things that insure they not get a fight. Democracy at the convention! No instant replays of May 31, 2008.

It’s like the callers to Washington Journal who start their calls by saying “I’ve been a Democrat all my life, but I can’t support a party that promotes a woman’s right to murder her baby…”

Or trolls who come here and say “I’ve always been a loyal member of the DEMOCRAT Party….”

Sorry, you guys totally fail.

Comment by Diana | 2008-07-19 22:22:16

I don’t think it’s a Republican. I’ve heard these same talking points from Obama supporters several times. Along with Hillary and Bills hit lists. All the people they’ve had killed and I know for a fact they were/are Obama supporters. Just look at the things the MSM themselves said about both Bill and Hillary during the primaries. Now if they’re Republican Obama supporters I don’t know. Remember a lot of Independent and Republicans also voted for Hillary.

Comment by Diana | 2008-07-19 22:24:05

Sorry! I meant to say a Republican McCain supporter on that first sentence.

Comment by jwrjr | 2008-07-19 23:13:36

Republican McCain supporters know that many of those who oppose NObama can be convinced to vote for McCain (this time, anyway). There is no way they would be spouting anti-Clinton crap like that. If Clinton was the presumptive candidate, maybe. But not now.

Comment by Diana | 2008-07-19 23:52:03

I agree that’s why I corrected myself to say I don’t think it’s a Republican McCain Supporter. They’ve even tones down a lot of their forums. I even heard Ann Coulter say something about Hillary. It wasn’t anything spectacular. She just said that they set out to make her a Republican to Democrats, and that is how they treated her in the press like she was the Republican. I thought my ceiling might fall in because I actually agreed with her. They villanized Hillary over and over.

Why does anyone think the Clinton’s marriage is any of our business? Clearly, Hillary had the freedom of choice. Unlike many women, Hillary was financially independent. Remember, she was always the main bread earner in the family until just recently. Chelsea was already a young woman, not a child. Divorce is no longer a stigma in society or politics or even in her religious denomination. She had choices. She had free will. She made the decision to stay with her marriage. She doesn’t have to explain the interior workings of a private decision to anyone. It isn’t our business.

Sorry, Obamatron. I voted for Bill Clinton and was heartbroken when he squandered his Presidency because he couldn’t keep his zipper up. But you know what? BO couldn’t carry Bill’s condoms!

Willaim Jefferson Clinton was a good president who might have been great. But despite his flaws, he brought us nearly a decade of relative peace and prosperity. And he was the first Dem to offer a two-term Democratic win in over 30 years.

Hillary? I always thought she was the strongest of the pair. Even Bill Clinton admitted that. As for the smears from the Republican wing-nuts, I’d hardly use that as an argument. But . . .

Your candidate is beyond flawed. I don’t take kindly when the DNC trys to run a Republican pass on its own members, ramming an unqualified and unsuitable candidate down voter’s throats, insisting “we” get in line and having the audacity to say “they’re fed up.”

We’ll see you in November and you and your masters will get a true feeling of “frustration and disgust.” If you think intimidation, lies and fradualent claims will make your candidate more acceptable, you are sadly mistaken. You can point your fingers every which way, but the truth of the matter is you’re supporting an absolute fraud.

We will vote as we please. But guaranteed, it will not be for Barack Obama.

Don’t try to guilt trip Clinton supporters who were treated like crap by you and your fellow cultists.

Don’t bother defending your Master when the wages he pays you is literally change….you can only fit in a jar.

Don’t vote until you learn not to be stupid and reckless with your support.

Don’t whine about smears when you did nothing but smear both Clintons and their supporters…for months!

Don’t spread smears that this is Republican front when you and your fellow Obamabot cultists not only worked with Republicans to fuck half the Democratic party over, but now we are facing the choice of voting for a Republican (McCain) or a Republican (Obama) this November! Imagine that. No Democrat in sight! Good job, fools.

Don’t claim people are laughing at us when there are people laughing at YOU.

Don’t come back.

Hillaryin2030 — Bill Clinton left this country peace and prosperity. He was the most successful president of the latter part of the 20th century. When the Democratic Party folds its tent it will be The Clintons who fix the party that Howard Dean and Nancy Pelosi screwed over. Your boy is making a speech in Germany — but don’t listen too closely — CAUSE HE LIES.

This is that “Right On” tool under another name.

He’s also pretty fucking stupid. He doesn’t seem to understand that WJC was NOT on the primary ballot this year. And his “insinuations” about HRC bore no fruit. They spent forty million plus trying to “get” them, to no avail.

Pisspoor logic and failed arguments…I guess he’s learning from his Messiah! Either that, or he’s a lame GOP operative trying to play the fake-out game.

It doesn’t matter. Obama’s not getting my vote. Cynthia McKinney may get it, if I care to be obstreperous. I may even write in Sheila Jackson Lee or Jesse “Nutcutter” Jackson…but Obama? No way. I like my candidates to have a shred of experience, and he doesn’t fit that bill.

Clinton was the best President since FDR. No one can be a Democrat and believe otherwise. Therefore, although I’m not one to use typical Obamabot ploys, ‘hillaryin2030′ you’ve just outed yourself as a Republican. go away.

Most of them were too young to even know what a good president he was. They were still peeing their pants. Today they are still sucking off their parents’ financial teat thanks to the money they made under Clinton. My portfolio misses him.

BILL CLINTON was the ONLY successful Democratic President re-elected since FDR. When Bill was Prez gas was about $1.25 a gallon, everyone had a good job, best economy I’ve seen since the Viet Nam war, we were PAYING DOWN THE NATIONAL DEBT. I don’t care if he gets his dick sucked, that’s not my business

Well now, since your most important criteria is marital fidelity let’s just get ol’ Barack hooked up to a lie detector and ask him the most important question a potential president must answer: How many times did he cheat on Michelle and who was it with? Then you’ll know if we can vote for him or not.

And we’ll just worry about all that other stuff, like wars, and depressions, and illegal spying later; or, better yet, why don’t we just let our grandkids handle it when they grow up so we can concentrate on the important stuff, like catchin’ Barack in the act.

George Washington
Thomas Jefferson
Warren Harding
Calvin Coolidge
FDR
Dwight Eisenhower
Richard Nixon
JFK

I know there are others, just don’t want to look them up. Warren Harding sent his mistress on a round the world tour. She was blackmailing him. Calvin Coolidge’s mistress had his child while he was president. Ever heard the expression,”George Washington is the father of our country” because it might not mean what you think. Thomas Jefferson had children with one of his slaves. FDR had a mistress for years and she was with him when he died. Dwight Eisenhower began an affair with his driver during WWii which continued after he became president. Richard Nixon began an affair with a Chinese woman he met during a visit to China. She was his interpreter. JFK had serial affairs and Jackie threatened to divorce him during his campaign. Then there was Marilyn Monroe and he shared a mistress with mobster, Giancano. Bill Clinton was the only one put under oath to answer questions and this occured after $100mil in private and government funds had been used to investigate him and Hillary which found nothing. It would be nice if someone would put up that much money to investigate Barack Obama. James Buchanna was believed to be a practicing homosexual and U. S. Grand was an alcholic.

Thank you Elise. People tend not to research anything for themselves. They need to know we are electing a President and they are sometime flawed. They are “people”. Obama is seen as a “God” (which is so sad) to some of these people, because he has implied that he is. Apparently he has no flaws to them. He and his crew are some very sick people.
