U.S. News Acknowledges Our Growing Movement:

From Bonnie Erbe, a U.S. News and syndicated columnist as well as PBS television host:

Democratic anti-Obama movement grows online. According to justsaynodeal.com cofounder Diane Mantouvalos in an online FoxNews.com video posted Thursday, the Democratic anti-Obama movement is growing online. Mantouvalos claims the number of Democratic anti-Obama websites is growing exponentially. Justsaynodeal.com, an anti-Obama Web site, lists some 160 websites that have sprung up to urge Democrats to vote for McCain so, these Hillary supporters hope, Senator Clinton can take on McCain in 2012.

Montouvalos told Foxnews.com one of these anti-Obama Dems is making a documentary. She also said some 250 organizations were on a conference call planning a major event three weeks before the Democratic convention next month in Denver. Stay tuned…

ACTION: Please drop by Bonnie’s blog and let her know that you appreciate her coverage of our movement.

Read Bonnie Erbe’s full column: “Anti-Obama Democrats, Pelosi’s Bush Blast, and Red States in Play.”

A personal note: In the 1990s, I corresponded with Bonnie Erbe because she was curious about my advocacy for the safety of marine mammals. She is a highly rational reporter who is blessed with the inquisitiveness that is lacking in too many of the current pack of top reporters. I wish I still had copies of our delightful exchanges in which we shared our views and some experiences we both had with other political activists.

It took them how long to figure we’re growing? ‘Course it had to be Fox News to spread the word ever more. I never thought I’d see the day when I would prefer the news from the conservative quarter.

Comment by hank48188 | 2008-07-19 10:41:24

You can’t get fair coverage from MSNBC and CNN, Keith, Chris and Donna Brazile should be removed. On the night of the Florida Primary MSNBC was only giving the Republican results, even though as many DEMS were voting as Republicans. Keith and Chris couldn’t stand Hillary and didn’t want to cover her BIG WIN.

And Cafferty - he is stupid, disgusting and half the time he looks drunk.

Comment by csuzeq | 2008-07-19 13:36:33

And you can’t reply to Cafferty’s question of the day if it contains any negative statement about Obama or cnn.

I have posted comments on there before and never had a problem until this year. This year, not one of my comments has been posted! There will occasionally be a negative that is posted, but I notice they only post about 10% of negatives on there!

I’m sick of losing my voice as an American and I am sick of that bloated ego fraud Obama!

EU slams Iran after TEN public executions in ONE week Jul 19, ‘08 10:16 AM
for Chief’s network

As you read this, remember, this is the very same country that Obama and Pelosi and her merry gang want to go over and open relations with. It seems that the EU (European Union) has problems with Iran’s making of their weekly killling quota of people who don’t meet up to their Quran requirements or people who wish to express themselves on the internet. Oh, did I fail go mention, that within the past two years Pelosi was trying to pass new laws to keep you from expressing your thoughts on the internet as well. Hasn’t gone through yet, but neither has killing you for being open with you opinions. However, now they are planning on taxing your emails and/or bandwide usage on the net. That my friends is starting to happen via your internet provider. They tax them and your internet provider will pass that tax on to you with larger bills. As for zipping you mouth shut or our opinions, it’ just a matter of time. The Demis found out the internet has made a dent in their rusted armor and with bloggers they can’t sneak their agenda through without reprecussions from us, basically static from millions of citizens and very quickly.

BLOGGER DEATH PENALTY PROPOSED
The European Union criticized Iran today for a spate of executions and plans to extend the scope of the death penalty, a day before it leads international talks on Tehran’s disputed nuclear program.

The 27-nation bloc, which frequently issues such condemnations on the eve of meetings with Iranian officials, voiced concern over reports that 10 Iranians were publicly executed last week alone.

It also signaled worries about a parliamentary bill which it said would extend the range of offenses carrying the death penalty to include the creation of websites deemed to disturb the ‘psychological security of society’.

Talks: Iran’s chief nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili, left, and EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana are due to meet in Geneva to clarify the Middle Eastern country’s response to an international offer of trade and technical incentives in return for the suspension of uranium enrichment

‘The bill makes a disproportionate link between the acts committed and the penalty imposed and sets out to brutally restrict the exercise of freedom of expression,’ the EU said in a statement.

‘The Iranian authorities have doubled the number of executions from 2006 to 2007, without achieving anything but a worsening crime rate,’ it said, urging an immediate halt on executions and a moratorium on the death penalty.

EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana is due to meet chief Iranian nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili in Geneva on Saturday for talks aimed at clarifying Iran’s reply to an international offer of trade, technical and other incentives if it suspends uranium enrichment.

Solana will be accompanied by officials from six major powers - United States, Russia, China, France, Britain and Germany.

In a significant policy shift, Washington will be sending a senior envoy for the first time.

Iran rejects suspicions it wants the atom bomb.

While Iranian officials have ruled out any suspension of enrichment before the meeting, European diplomats believe they have seen signs from Tehran that it is keen to resolve the stand-off

I actually happy to hear that Bush adm. has decided to open an interest section in Tehran. I believe Israel wants to bumb Iran, and US does not really want this happening in the election year, it would be a suesuidal for the Rep. That is why they’re going in there to prevent Israel bombing iran. It is good news for MacCain.

So far Fox has been the fairest of all the networks, and Hillary was great when she appeared there.

Comment by s. hall | 2008-07-19 11:30:25

asimon — The only good thing that happened this year was discovering Fox News. Did you guys hear that news writers who write critical stories of Obama have their work edited to make it appear less critical. This practice goes on at MSNBC and CNN but not on Fox. Rupert you rock.

Comment by asimon | 2008-07-19 11:40:58

At fox they constantly bring people from opposite sides and debate. You can even find Code Pink showing up on a regular basis. The left has engaged in a long campaign to paint Fox as something that it’s not, and many people bought it.There is a reason why their ratings are so high, usually more than double of all the rest of cable news combined.

Comment by Catherine | 2008-07-19 12:05:19

And I love it when CNN reporters like Wolf Blitzer (who owes his job to Bill Clinton and the blue dress mess) calls themselves the “best political team on television”. No wonder they fit so well with Obama- CNN with Cafferty, Brazile, and Roberts is as arrogant and snobbish as Obama. I wonder if they all got raises for their constant bashing of Hillary? They must feel like “real men” cause they bullied a highly qualified woman running for president. I will never watch this station again- yest FOX is he new news channel for me and has been since super-tuesday.

Comment by AX10 | 2008-07-19 14:55:08

Blitzer is not that bad.
Though Cafferty, Brazile, and Roberts are pure s**t as is Roland Martin. CNN has the audacity to refer to Roland and Donna as “analysts” even though they are shills whom are involved in the Obama campaign. At the same time, Carville (who made no secret that he was for Clinton and was sold to the public by the network as is)
was thrown off the air because it was not “fair” to have someone from one of the campaigns on the air so often.

There are only two choices in this election:

A) Hillary
B) Mccain

When Paul Krugman wrote about Bush as a candidate, his editors strictly forbid him from using the word “lie. Then we know what happened to journalism during the Iraq war. Will Kristov put out that taped interview, btw? I’m curious what he thinks is so potentially damaging, because Obama has made no secret of knowing the call to prayer in Arabic and finding it “the most beautiful sound in the world.”

I’m right there with you F.R.

We’re truly through the looking glass now, but I’ve pretty much accepted the fact.

It’s difficult to watch any of the MSM outlets… best to keep your own counsel and follow your own instincts.

However, I grudgingly have to acknowledge the need for them when it comes to promoting awareness of the Just Say No Deal coalition.

It cannot stand alone as an internet phenomena. In order for it to grow, it needs advertisement. People need to be reminded that there is dissent, and if you’re not enamored of The Precious, you’re not alone.

Right now, it’s FoxNews or nothing, babe.

While the anti-Obama groups are growing exponentially and The One is dropping like a stone in state polls, the MSM is still running headlines about an Obama wave.

Ths disconnect between the MSM/Blogger Boyz and the general public is startling.

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-07-19 19:31:18

The other networks and bought news outlets will keep trying to depress election day turnout by hyping the Obama phenomenon. I think these next few weeks will be good for McCain. Expect more states to flip.

Instead, get on over to USN and WR and THANK her for reporting on the movement. You catch more flies with honey, after all. It’s TEAM OBAMA that likes to spout angry threats and call people racists when anyone dares to question their hero’s readiness for office.

“some 160 websites that have sprung up to urge Democrats to vote for McCain so, these Hillary supporters hope, Senator Clinton can take on McCain in 2012.”

That’s slightly inaccurate. Not all of the web sites are urging Dems to vote for McCain with the sole purpose of electing Hillary in 2012. They never seem to understand the fundamental purpose of these groups: to protest Barack Obama and the undemocratic and manipulative primary process that produced an illegitimate nominee that was selected by party leaders, not elected by the people.

Some people will vote McCain. Some will write in Hillary or a third-party. Some will stay home. Putting it like that makes it seem, again, like we are only Hillary-obsessed sore losers, willing to abandon all rational thought and vote McCain. Some people think McCain is genuinely a better choice, while for others, it is a protest vote to ensure that BO is not president.

I wish the PUMA spokespeople would be more specific and emphatic (at every opportunity) about the basic democratic protest of the movement. That theme will resonate with Americans, rather than any particular position one group or person is taking.

Comment by helen | 2008-07-19 11:07:05

The PUMA PARTY is more democratic than the NEW democratic party.
People are welcomed who value their country before their party.
No one has a mandate to vote one way or anouther.

fif — I will stick with McCain because he is being treated just like John Edwards was in the Primaries–he is invisible. The media has no time to cover Sen. McCain while it fawns over Obama and crazy things are going on out here. AA’s want to change the name of anything that reflects badly on Blacks such as Devil’s Food Cake or the term Black Hole. Whoopie believes we live in 2 different worlds — I would like to live in her world and have all that money. When Sharpton was told polls show 70% of White people would vote for a Black candidate he said — that doesn’t end racism (duh?) McCain and the American People’s issues are not being heard while we talk nonsense and promote Obama 24/7.

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-07-19 19:34:39

Every interview I have seen, they have been clear on that, and it is the number one question. Some groups have already met with McCain and like him. Others are undecided. The guests on these shows always say they can’t speak for everyone; it’s a personal decision, but they are speaking for themselves.

Indy: Thank you for the link.

s. hall: I’m sure the chatter on the internet is scaring Obama and his committed minions. He can’t control them as easily as the MSM. Even shutting down the blogs is only temporary. Intimidation and threatens only makes many of us more committed and determined to make sure he is not elected in November.

It’s interested that:

1. Obama wants to unconditionally negotiate with Iran,
2. A good friend of Obama is Rashid Khalidi,
3. Rashid Khalid, who teaches Arab Studies at Columbia University, was instrumental in bringing Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to New York, and
4. Iran now can use the death penalty for weblog crimes.

Obama has interesting friends, associates and wants to unconditionally negotiate with some dangerous characters.

I remember at the start of this campaign Obama was talking about foreign policy, he said he was better on foreign policy than everyone else because he had actually lived overseas. Sounds very lame, it was from age 6 to 10, But that’s not the point. Last week Obama did a interview with Fareed Zakaria and Fareed asked Obama what he remembered most about living in Indonesia. Obama said it was when his Mother told him that She had married a man from Indonesia and that we were moving there. I’m sure being told that just rocked Barry’s world, probably had him in a state of shock for the first year.

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-07-19 19:39:08

That interview with Fareed Zakaria was great. Obama was called on the flimsiness of his Iraq war plan. He would continue to rely on Blackwater and other mercs. Most interestingly was how Obama spoke of his mother announcing she’d remarried, they were moving, as if he were captive to her whims. And he was. Obama didn’t go see his mother as she was dying. But I don’t know what that’s got to do with foreign policy.

The uproar from Obama sites concerning PUMA is indicative of the impact that PUMA is having. The Disciples are trying to paint PUMA as a group totally composed of bitter old women crying in the wilderness. The Disciples also try to hold Roe v. Wade and Supreme Court appointments as a threat over the heads of those who will not vote for BO. But they protest too much.

The farce of the BO spectacle is in reality only a sales job, marketing ploy much like the selling of IPhones or standing in line all night to see the new Batman flic. But Disciples don’t care……..they only follow.

Here’s what I just wrote on Bonnie’s blog (it’s awaiting moderation):

Thank you for covering our growing PUMA/Just Say No Deal movement! We are growing and we are working for democracy!

Despite what Obama’s supporters claim, the vast majority of PUMA members are Democrats who are angry not because Clinton is currently not the “presumptive nominee,” but because the Democratic Party acted almost criminally with regard to this election.

The decision to just “give” Obama delegates from MI when he voluntarily took his name off of the ballot, so as to curry favor with Iowans.

The fact that Obama and his supporters have told us to just “get over it” and fall in line.

The fact that Obama has taken over the DNC and moved it to Chicago - home of all of the corruption of which he has been a part.

The fact that Dean and Brazile have even contemplated not having a roll call of the states and not putting Clinton’s name into nomination at the Convention.

The fact that the Netroots Nation/Daily Kos folks ridiculed DLC Chair Harold Ford Jr. (whom I would support for president in a HEARTBEAT!).

…I could go on and on…

I have been a Democrat for 20 years. I have raised money for Democrats all over this country. I have stood behind nominees who were not my favorite many times (e.g., Kerry). Not this time. No deal. I want MY party back - and I’m willing to fight for it.

Yes,we’re about democracy. One person, one vote. What I watched on C-Span on May 31st was a coup by the corrupt, “Democratic” party elite to kill the voice of 18,000,000 voters. It was an in-your-face, public theft and the selection of a loser. I want Hillary’s name placed in nomination at the Denver convention and voted on. Our community of millions is not about McCain. We need Hillary in the White House in 2008! I will never vote for an illegitimate, Chicago Swamp Thing. Never. BO is a Manchurian Candidate, a total concoction of lies. BO and the billionaire oligarchs pulling his strings are truly dangerous!

Country over party. Rise PUMAs Rise.

Comment by SWPAnnA | 2008-07-19 11:45:22

Neither candidate has the requisite number of pledged delegates to claim the nomination. I just cannot understand the willingness of those super delegates - who don’t have to give their ‘final answer’ vote until the roll call in Denver- to give Obama their vote when their constituents have elected Clinton. If the congressional districts alone were fairly reflected, Clinton would win. The “presumptive” nominee is just TOO presumptive and shows the incompetence of these gamers to fail to certify a nomination before going off on the creep show of narcissism. 18 million votes is a lot of Democrats to shove aside.

PUMA is not just about Hillary, it is about process. This is why it has such appeal. It states the truth.

The arrogance of the DNC (and its messiah) is breathtaking in its utter contempt for the people they supposedly represent. The Dem party has definitely devolved into an unrecognizable organization. And we say the GOP is fascist? Things are getting scary!

About Al Maliki’s comments:
I saw a blurb (from FOX no less) that an Iraqui government spokesman stated that Speigel mis-translated the quote making it appear as a definite endorsement of a timeline rather than wanting an agreement with the US on a general time-horizon dependent upon conditions. There is a distinction.
