Forensics Expert: Obama Birth Certificate is a Forgery

The following report was written for TD/NQ by Techdude, who hurried to complete it after his tires were slashed and a mutilated rabbit was found hanging by his front door. He is currently working on another exclusive follow-on report.

Who threatened Techdude, and why?  And if his findings are correct, why did Barack Obama publish a fake Certificate of Live Birth (COLB) on his own website, FightTheSmears, and on DailyKos?

Much thanks goes to my reader, Michele, for going the extra mile to acquire a newly issued COLB from Hawaii for our analysis.  Also, we must recognize the groundbreaking work of Polarik, who continues to update his analysis of the COLBs on his blog.

As most of you may or may not know some wackjob decided to track me down and vandalize my car and hang a dead mutilated rabbit from my front door in a lame attempt to intimidate me from proceeding with releasing any details of my analysis. And as I have mentioned before they did succeed in delaying the reports by a few days but instead of deterring me they just really pissed me off. To their credit, if I had not taken a few days off from the analysis I would have missed the most damning piece of evidence – the remnants of the previous security border.

So allow me to say once again to the demented retard who slaughtered an animal to make a point – f*ck you and thank you. And because of the amazing number of violent psychopaths who seem to be drawn to this issue, I need to reiterate that I am not going to use or supply any details that can be used to identify the owners of the COLBS used in the analysis except for those which have already been publicly disclosed. If the owners want to come forward on their own that is entirely their decision. Some people have also wondered if the harassment issue is being looked into – yes it is. I will leave that to law enforcement to follow up on the issue so just let them do their job while I continue to do mine.

Before I begin I must first whole heartedly thank TexasDarlin for their help with completing this analysis. Without one the help of one of their readers (Michele) I would not have been able to create a full picture of the 2006 through 2008 time line. For Michele’s willingness to get involved and to send me a high resolution scan of her 2008 COLB (The last piece of the puzzle) - I am truly grateful.

Michele’s 2008 COLB made all the difference in dispelling any doubt that I may have had that the State of Hawaii may have changed the layout or equipment used to print out the documents. It was only after receiving her 2008 COLB that I was inspired to get a verbal validation from some Hawaiian state employees that there had been no changes to back up my findings.

The measurements taken from Michele’s 2008 COLB also reiterated that the previous measurements were all within a few pixel range from one another within the 2006 through 2007 date ranges. The lack of visible embossed seal and more importantly the lack of bleed through from the date stamp on the back side also reiterated what I had noted on the 2006 and 2007 COLBS.

A few people have ridiculously tried to dispel Michele’s COLB because she covered her personal information over with tape – to those people I apparently have to point out that this was done at our insistence. While Obama is a public figure Michele is not and should not have to become one. Like the information on the other COLBS I have examined, all personally identifiable information has been removed – either by me or by the owners at my request. As history has already shown us, any personal information they may inadvertently release can be used to track them down and possibly lead to acts of violence or harassment.

Upon receiving Michele’s 2008 I was then able to conduct a complete exam the using various Hawaiian COLBS issued over a multi-year time frame ranging from 2001 through 2008. Since the KOS image was purportedly printed by the Health Department of Hawaii in June 2007 it should share identical measurements, text, and layout. However it did not.

Organizations are always using images to get their points across, sometimes to make a political point and sometimes just for propaganda purposes. Take the recent photos Iran released showing their “successful” missile tests. While it was painfully apparent the image was manipulated in Photoshop, or some other editing application, the news media still circulated the images as real. Even after some blogs had posted the original unmodified image, which was actually taken a few years prior, and a few blogs even went so far as to highlight a few of the areas where the image had been cloned the majority of the media never retracted or corrected their stories. To do so would have not been in their best interests which is simply to make news and sell advertising when no real news can be found.

Using specialized software anyone who cares to check for digital manipulations can do so. It does not generally take a fully equipped computer forensics lab to validate authenticity but again it is not in their best interests. It is far easier to later issue a one line correction hidden someplace in the middle of their newspapers or just ignore the problem.

With the KOS image all it really takes to dispel the document’s authenticity is to find real documents from the same time frame, make some visual comparisons, and then make a few phone calls. Having a fully equipped forensics lab with specialized software just validates the visual observations and helps to drive home the point that the KOS image is nothing more than an “artist’s” rendition of a COLB.

By first separating the certificate issue dates into their various date groups it is apparent that the pre-2006 certificates have a different security border design than the more recent 2006 through 2008 design. From 2001 through 2006 there were no other modifications to the layout of the certificates aside from changing the DATE ACCPETED heading to read DATE FILED. This is the first visual indication that the KOS image is not authentic since it’s border design does not fit into any of the known groups.

Image 1. 2001 – 2008 border patterns

All known good certificate images from all time frames examined shared an apparent identical layout and font. Each of the available un-cropped full certificate images, from all time frames, showed the security borders to be almost perfectly centered from left to right within the lower 2/3 rd portion of the 8 ½ x 11 inch page with all deviations off center being within 15 pixels. Measurements were taken from the top left, top right, bottom left, bottom right, center top, and center bottom of each images security border to the edges of the visible paper which appeared as hard edges with the top cover of the scanners creating whitespace.

Image 2. Measurements

The embossed seals and ink stamps in all of the pre-2006 images are clearly visible in the scans however none of the post-2006 seals or ink stamps are visible without extensive manipulation to the digital images. Even when scanning the physical post-2006 certificate in my possession using multiple resolutions and using multiple scanners I was also unable to produce an image which would allow the seal to show though the image. The ink stamps on the rear side were also not visible in the front side scans without digital modifications to the scanned images. My scans of the physical certificate also produced the same results using multiple resolutions and using multiple scanners.

The 2006 though 2008 COLBs were then compared against one another for a direct 1:1 comparison. Using copies of the images I digitally enhanced and modified the scans by removing only the hatch pattern background and then removing the merged information fields leaving just the raw document templates and saving them as a series of digital overlay templates. When the 2006 overlay was placed on top of the 2007 image they matched from corner to corner with some minor variations on the minute angle of the images. The fonts were observed to be in the same locations and of the same size and kerning.

The procedure was then used with the 2006 overlay on top of the 2008 image. Once again, they matched from corner to corner with some minor variations on the minute angle of the images. The fonts were observed to be in the same locations and of the same size, style, and kerning. The 2007 overlay was then applied on top of the 2008 image. The 2007 and 2008 also matched from corner to corner with some minor variations on the minute angle of the images. The fonts were observed to be in the same locations and of the same size, style, and kerning. Having verified that all of the examined post-2006 certificates were identical in form and substance I then focused the rest of the analysis using the 2007 and 2008 COLB scans against the 2007 KOS image to pin the document into the middle of the known time frame.

Image 3. Overlays

The same measurement methodology was used against the full un-cropped KOS image and showed the security borders to be uncentered from left to right within the lower 2/3 rd portion of the 8 ½ x 11 inch page with a deviation from the other measurements off center being the average of 75 pixels – a 60 pixel greater deviation. Measurements were taken from the top left, top right, bottom left, bottom right, center top, and center bottom of each images security border to the edges of the visible paper which appeared as hard edges with the top cover of the scanners creating whitespace. The differences are also detectible visually without the use of digital enhancements. This is our second visual indicator that the KOS image is not authentic as all of the other known COLBs are almost perfectly centered.

Image 4. KOS measurement comparisons

The previously created overlays were placed on top of the KOS image. When the 2007 overlay was placed on top of the KOS image they did not immediately line up. After being matched from security border corner to security border corner with some minor variations on the minute angle of the images the security border pattern obviously did not match in pattern or in color. The fonts were observed to not be in the same locations and they also did not share same kerning.

The procedure was then used with the 2008 overlay on top of the KOS image. Once again when the 2008 overlay was placed on top of the KOS image they did not immediately line up. After being matched from corner to corner like the 2007 overlay again with some minor variations on the minute angle of the images the security border pattern obviously did not match in pattern or in color.. The fonts were observed to not be in the same locations on the page and they also did not share same kerning. Some have argued that the text is in the same place as the 2001 Decosta image – well obviously if this was a 2007 image it would not have the same text placement of the 2003 and prior images.

More importantly why is the text not in the same locations as seen on the 2006 through the 2008 images? As for as out third visual indicator - the text portion of the KOS image is too far down on the page and is not in the same locations as the 2006 through 2008 COLBs further asserting the KOS image is not authentic.

Image 5. KOS with 2007 and 2008 overlays

A direct relative comparison using unmodified copies of the original images were made in regards to the security border pattern and color since this seems to be one of the hot topics of contention. Several distinctions were noted from the 2007 / 2008 certificate security border versus the security border used in the KOS image. Our fourth visual indicator also shows clear differences in the entire border area including what appears to be a 2 pixel wide white space on the KOS image between the upper and lower header areas which is not found on any of the 2001 – 2008 real COLBs again further indicating the KOS image is not authentic.

Image 6. Border comparisons

Direct relative measurements using unmodified copies of the original images were made in regards to the font size and kerning. Several letters were distinctly different in width and kerning from the 2007 / 2008 certificate font versus the font used in the KOS image such as O, H, N, R, and C. When the 2007 is overlaid on top of the KOS as an animated gif the differences become obvious. The same kerning differences are also seen when the 2008 is over laid on top of the KOS image. For a direct comparison the 2007 was over laid on top of the 2008 which shows no differences in the kerning. So our fifth visual observation also indicated that the KOS image is not authentic.

Images 7 – 9. Animated GIFs showing kerning differences

Moving on from basic observation to digital deconstruction of the KOS images we need to first extract and examine the embedded information that is contained within all of the images. The metadata and EXIF information was extracted from the 2007, 2008, and the two KOS images – the full un-cropped version and the lower quality cropped version. The metadata extracted from the JPEG files consisted of the quantization tables used for compressing the image and the EXIF data if it was present. The quantization tables also allow us to fingerprint the application that last saved the images. This is referred to as ballistics in homage to forensic firearm examinations where matching the marks and twists left on a bullet can identify the type of firearm that fired it. Every graphic application uses its own specific quantization tables to create JPEG files and while some applications share the same quantization fingerprint some applications such as Photoshop use their own proprietary tables.

The 2007 image’s rate of compression was calculated to an approximated 75% quality factor at 300 dpi with an image size of 2550 x 3300 pixels in a portrait orientation and contained no EXIF data. The ballistic fingerprint shows the image was saved using a generic quantization table.

The 2008 image’s rate of compression was calculated to an approximated 80% quality factor at 300 dpi with an image size of 2550 x 3300 pixels in a portrait orientation and also contained no EXIF data. The ballistic fingerprint shows the image was saved using a generic quantization table.

The un-cropped KOS image’s rate of compression was calculated to an approximated 90% quality factor at 300 dpi with an image size of 2550 x 3300 pixels in a portrait orientation. The ballistic fingerprint confirms the image was saved using Photoshop. The image also contained the following relevant EXIF data:

[Software ] = Adobe Photoshop CS3 Macintosh

[DateTime ] = 2008: 06:12 08:42:36

[ColorSpace ] = 65535

[ExifImageWidth ] = 2550

[ExifImageHeight] = 3300

Raw Image Orientation = Portrait

Photoshop Save As Quality = [8]

Photoshop Save Format = [Progressive]

The cropped KOS image’s rate of compression was calculated to an approximated 50% quality factor at 300 dpi with an image size of 2427 x 2369 pixels in a landscape orientation. The ballistic fingerprint confirms the image was saved using Photoshop. The image also contained the following relevant EXIF data:

[Software ] = Adobe Photoshop CS3 Macintosh

[DateTime ] = 2008: 06:12 08:42:36

[ColorSpace ] = 65535

[ExifImageWidth ] = 2427

[ExifImageHeight] = 2369

Raw Image Orientation = Landscape

The information gathered from the metadata indicates that both the full sized un-cropped KOS image and the lower quality cropped KOS image were last saved at the same date and time. As Photoshop updates the EXIF information after every resave as part of its general behavior we would expect to see a change in date or time had the image been cropped at a later date.

We can conclude that the full image and cropped image were last saved by the same individual and since we know KOS posted the cropped image 2 minutes after it was last saved it is a safe assumption that KOS either distributed the full un-cropped version to others or they received the cropped image from someone else and posted the story two minutes later.

The 2007, 2008, and the two KOS images were then analyzed by creating a heat map showing where each pixel changes as jpeg quality decreases from 100 to 0 using the know compression rates. A change was considered relevant once the sum of the changes to the red, green, and blue values exceeded 10%. The heat map created from the 2007 and 2008 images showed the fonts, seal image, and security border are all identical consistent values. To eliminate any subjective presumptions and to increase the number of comparative tests the same analysis was then conducted on the 2006 and prior certificate images which all found the fonts, seal images, and security borders to also be saved with identical consistent values. The same analysis on the KOS images showed the security border having a substantially different RGB quality value than the fonts and the seal image.

Image 10. RGB value heat maps

Image 11. Detailed images of RGB value heat maps

The 2007, 2008, and the two KOS images were also analyzed for jpeg compression variations by creating a heat map showing where the difference for a particular compression level is indicated. A change was considered relevant once the sum of the changes to the error level values exceeded 10% of the previously calculated compression error rates. The heat map created from the 2007 and 2008 images showed the fonts, seal image, and security border are all identical consistent values. To eliminate any subjective presumptions and to increase the number of comparative tests the same analysis was then conducted on the 2006 and prior certificate images which all found the fonts, seal images, and security borders to also be compressed with identical consistent values. The same analysis on the KOS image indicated that the security border has a different error value than the fonts and the seal image.

Image 12. Error level analysis heat maps

Image 13. Detailed images of error level analysis heat map

The two above tests show indications of digital manipulation and further back up the visual observations.

While running some experimental software to locate cloned areas of the image I noticed that the KOS image contained numerous visible artifacts located at various points throughout the image. These artifacts are not found on any other known good image from any examined time frame and by in large would only been seen in a manipulated image. By simply creating a pixel level map of these errors using a copy of the full un-cropped version and simply highlighting the areas by drawing a pixel wide line to the left and to the right of each visible flaw a very distinct pattern was revealed. The left side of the image towards the inside edge of the security border contained stray vertical lines that did not match up to any of the jpeg compression artifacts so they were highlighted. The right side of the image contained visual pixel level inconsistencies in the background hatch pattern. The right side pattern is visually consistent with the artifacts left after digitally erasing an area from an image and attempting to rebuild the background.

Image 14. Some random flaws highlighted

By connecting the points together the original placement of what appears to be part of the original security border becomes apparent. The placement of the lines matches the expected location of a good security border based on the known placement from the known good certificates. The width and spacing of the highlighted areas also match a 1:1 scale overlay from a section of a known good security border.

Image 15. Connected lines

A close visual examination of the KOS security border itself reveals several repeating inconsistencies. The experimental software I had been using also kept indicating there was a repeating area in the border. Among them is a “weak line” which repeats once after every second bold line and a slightly downward curving end point where a straight line should end. This pattern continues around the entire perimeter of the KOS security border. Upon very close inspection portions of the security border also repeat every 240 pixels. By mapping this repeating pattern it becomes apparent that the pattern is laid out as a 240 x 240 pixel square that can be accurately extrapolated to the next position by simply counting 240 pixels. This type of tiling effect is commonly seen when an image has been modified by filling an area using an image editing application’s tile or pattern fill function. The differences in the RGB levels and compression would also indicate that the tile used to recreate the border was not at the same quality as the rest of the image.

Image 16. Mapped border pattern

After receiving Michele’s COLB I made several calls were made to various departments in the Hawaiian State Government in an attempt to better understand the process and procedures used to create, print, and distribute copies of the COLB form. While I was brushed off or hung up upon by almost all of the people I contacted I did manage to talk with a computer technician who was familiar with the computers and printers used by the Department of Health and the clerk’s offices. He was unwilling to give any specific details but did provide enough information to work with.

The COLB certificates are printed directly in the clerk’s office at the time they are requested. The system uses a standard laser printer and the border is printed at the same time as the text and other images on top of preprinted security paper. This would of course mean that the RGB levels of the security border would match those of the rest of the documents even after being scanned since they are printed on the same machine using the same color and density of laser toner. He stated the border is a vector image and would appear crisp and defined. Again this description does not match what we see in the KOS image. While the borders are clearly defined in all of the other certificate images the KOS image stands out as blurry and broken.

When asked if a COLB can be printed off center he said it was not possible and any misfeed would simply jam in the printer. This would mean that the KOS image which is off center and would have simply jammed in the printer. When asked if he had seen the KOS images on-line he replied that he had – and that there is “no way” they had printed something that looked like that which further backed up my conclusions.

Now let’s start to put the pieces of the puzzle together. The KOS image security border pattern does not match any known specimen from any known year. It does not match the pre-2006 nor does it match the post-2006 certificate patterns. The placement of the text in all of the pre-2006 and post-2006 certificates are almost identical pixel location matches to their certificate years while the KOS image’s text placement does not match any known specimen from any known year. The shape and kerning of the fonts used in the 2006 through 2008 certificates are identical while the shape and kerning of the fonts used in the KOS image does not match any known specimen. The KOS image shows clear signs of tampering such as the mismatch in RGB and error levels, visible indications of the previous location of the erased security border, easily detectable patterns of repeating flaws around the new security border, EXIF data that says the image was last saved with Photoshop CS3 for Macintosh, and finally a technician from Hawaii who confirms it just looks wrong.

We are left with two obvious scenarios used to create the KOS image that can be ascertained from evidence. Either a real COLB was scanned into Photoshop and digitally edited which is easily accomplished by any 10 year old or a real COLB was first scanned to obtain the graphic layout then blanked by soaking the document in solvent to remove the toner. After rescanning the blank page to a separate image the graphics from the previously obtained scan could then be easily applied to the blank scan after some editing and rebuilding. It would also explain why date stamp bleeds through the paper and the various bits of toner located around the image as well as the remnants of the previous location of a security border.

While many people will continue to make excuses for the appearance of the KOS image no one has been able to locate or to supply another image that is graphically identical to the KOS certificate. Some people have gone so far as to claim the KOS image looks “just like their” COLBs which without a side by side comparison might appear to be true. However once you assemble known good certificates from the same time frame the differences become painfully apparent that the KOS image is not authentic.

I do not like the sentence that says quote: “It’s time to WIN for Barack Obama, the Democratic Party,”

Isn’t it time to WIN for “We the People of the Democratic Party?”

KEEP VOTING DEMS IN IF YOU LIKE STARVING!
Democrats think gas taxes are too low, and four-dollar-a-gallon gas is too cheap. Associated Press raised eyebrows with a story headlined: “No gas tax holiday: Congress considers raising pump tax to help repair crumbling highways.” Reporter Jim Abrams found that “Now, lawmakers quietly are talking about raising fuel taxes by a dime from the current 18.4 cents a gallon on gasoline and 24.3 cents on diesel fuel.” But the lawmakers he cited were Reps. James Oberstar and Peter DeFazio, both liberal Democrats.

John McCain is quoted briefly announcing that economists didn’t like his gas-tax-holiday proposal, and Sen. Jim DeMint is allowed to argue that Congress is wasting billions of highway dollars on earmarks. But almost the entire AP story is dedicated to the views of those Democrats and “nonpartisan” groups lobbying for a gas-tax hike.

Notice how reporter Abrams suggests that the objective truth is that highway spending is too low, but he makes no attempt to give the reader any idea what the budgetary trend is, whether spending has been increasing year after year. He merely suggests that current spending is below what Congress wants to spend:

Just three years ago, that trust fund enjoyed a surplus of $10 billion. Even without a tax freeze, the fund is projected to finish 2009 with a deficit of $3 billion. That that could grow as Americans drive less and buy less gas because of higher pump prices.

The consequence is that only about $27 billion in federal money will be available next year to states and local governments for new infrastructure investment even though the current highway act calls for spending $41 billion a year. For many, the solution is to raise rather than suspend or cut federal fuel taxes, which haven’t changed since 1993.

Abrams let Sen. DeMint lament earmarks, but he then betrayed no attempt of challenging the Democrats with that argument. He merely moved on to letting them announce their big tax-and-spend liberal goals:

Oberstar, D-Minn., said his committee is working on the next long-term highway bill. He estimated it will take between $450 billion and $500 billion over six years to address safety and congestion issues with highways, bridges and transit systems.

“We’ll put all things on the table,” Oberstar said, but the gas tax “is the cornerstone. Nothing else will work without the underpinning of the higher user fee gas tax.”

At the very least, the gas tax should be indexed to construction cost inflation, DeFazio said.

Then came the “nonpartisan” advocates for tax hikes:

The nonpartisan National Surface Transportation Policy and Revenue Study Commission concluded in a report this year that the U.S. needs to spend $225 billion annually over the next 50 years to create a highway and transit system capable of sustaining strong economic growth. Current spending, at federal, state and local levels, is about $90 billion a year.

Among other revenue-raising possibilities, the commission recommended gradually increasing the current federal fuel taxes to 40 cents a gallon.

The American Road & Transportation Builders Association is calling for a 10-cent-a-gallon raise and indexing the tax to inflation. With construction costs soaring because of competition for building materials from China and other developing nations, the tax rate would have to be about 29 cents a gallon to achieve the same purchasing power as the 18.4-cent rate imposed in 1993, the association says.

No “objective” story on gas-tax hikes would be complete without reminding Americans that their gas taxes are far below those progressive Europeans:

Including state and local levies, people in the U.S. pay about 47 cents on average in taxes for a gallon of gasoline. Fuel in many European countries costs $8 to $9 a gallon, with half or more of that going to taxes.

Other ideas that will be on the table when lawmakers write a bill next year including more toll roads and public-private partnerships, congestion pricing and user fees where drivers pay a tax based on how many miles they drive.

Will other reporters follow up on how the Democrats are aiming not to give drivers some financial relief, but to drag more money out of their household budget?

Thanks so much Techdude, this report is incredable! There must be a legal action regarding Obama’s birth certificate. Now we can prove that he is not even US natural born citicizen to be qualified to become president. Stupid dems did not even checked his basic credential, like if he is natural citizen for God sake, before elected him.

WE NEED TO TAKE LEGAL ACTION, OBAMA MUST SHOW HIS ORIGINAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE!

Comment by KY_Karen | 2008-08-08 18:02:05

Its been a couple weeks since the last comment - I’m wondering what if anything is being done about this?

Is there no way to compel Obama to produce an actual, authentic birth certificate? Surely he won’t go on to the convention and not clear this up? Surely the DNC will insist he provide proof of his citizenship - not some forged cyber document either.

Why aren’t CNN and Fox and the networks all over this? Suppose they are working on more “proof” or obtaining a copy of the COLB for themselves?

This is much more interesting - and important - than Edward’s affair.

Does anyone else wonder if his leaving today for a Hawaiian vacation to visit granma has a connection to this story? Did he take any documents experts with him? Wonder if he has a “Mark Hoffmann” type on staff?

If Obama has nothing to hide, why is he hiding his original birth certificate?

The RCP polls show almost a 50-50 split, half showing a McCain win, half a HRC win.

On the Obama McCain site, a much smaller sample is shown, all of them going for Obama. But with really miserable leads, considering Obama’s status as Rock Star and Messiah. As has been pointed out numerous times, Dukakis, Kerry, and even McGovern enjoyed sizable leads over their Rep opponent at this stage in the election cycle.

Also, AFAIK none of the McCain-Obama match-ups have been adjusted for the Bradley/Wilder effect.

So what’s your point, Kellie?

Comment by Yoly | 2008-07-22 01:10:35

We look at state by state, not nationals…This is why you lost before….it’s electorate votes this time. Not popular, not delegates, ELECTORATE.

Those polls were last taken in April. Hillary’s momentum kept getting stronger and stronger.

Comment by Johnny at Work | 2008-07-21 13:20:42

All Democrats are polling better than Obama against McCain. Even Al Gore is polling better than Obama.

Rasmussen had a comprehensive analysis last week. Go ask your boss AxelCrap for help finding it on the internet.

Better yet, go back to chatting on MySpace and FaceBook with those 50 year old guys that pretend to be 22 yrs old.

What does this have to do with Republicans. They don’t control the information, do they?

Comment by txchelle | 2008-07-21 13:15:14

Actually many Republicans prefer to face Hillary rather than Obama.

Remember that Rush Limbaugh challenged Republicans to vote for Hillary against Obama in the primary elections.

Hillary herself said that everybody has rummaged through her baggage, meaning that her skeletons have already been made public.

Obama, on the other hand, is relatively unknown and presumed dangerous. There would be much work to do (and therefore much expense for the RNC) to uncover and expose Obama’s past.

They’d rather duke it out against a known foe than spend huge amounts of money to fight the unknown and unexpected.

Comment by bemused | 2008-07-21 14:17:27

Please spend five minutes googling Obama with the following, remember different search orders often give different results: Terrorist - Ayers - Rezko - flip flop - RNC - Larry Sinclair - Odinga -Zbigneiw - corporate contributors - Iraq - muslim

and then come back and say there isn’t enough to scare the heck out of anyone? Even if only the least bit is true– people will go on the side of caution. How, for instance, does the possibility that he is a puppet for the Chicago combine compare to Whitewater, which turned up nothing? It is a laugh to say that the RNC hasn’t got dirt on Obama, compared to Hillary. Find another talking point.

Comment by txchelle | 2008-07-21 15:38:41

I never said (or even implied) that the RNC doesn’t have dirt on Obama.

I said that the RNC prefered to run against Hillary because they already knew about her “baggage” before the primaries even began.

During the primaries, not much was known about Obama. So when Obamamania became rampant and it looked like Obama would be the nominee instead of Hillary, Republicans started voting against Obama by voting for Hillary.

Why would they vote against Obama if they would rather see him as the nominee? That doesn’t make sense to me.

Comment by StrawberrybitesBarky | 2008-07-21 15:47:39

No actually, the RNC is scared shitless of Hillary. The Clintons are the only democrats to beat the tar out of the right wing machine. Rumour has it that the RNC helped bring about the whole Barky Hopey/Changey movement because they knew about him ever since the 2004 convention. That explains the GOP tactics used at caucuses by Obamabots and GOP talking points used against Bill and Hillary. The GOP knew they had an uphill battle this year for the White House so the only way they could win was to go up against an incredibly bad opponent…ie Barky.

Comment by txchelle | 2008-07-21 16:04:48

Tthere were Republicans who jumped on board the Obama-Express after the “Be a Democrat for a day” campaign by Obama. But there were plenty of Republicans who turned out in droves to vote for Hillary in Texas, Ohio, and Kentucky. (They considered a vote for McCain as a wasted vote because he had already clinched the nomination at that point.)

Correct, the RNC was scared of Bill Clinton, and rightly so, he was a very powerful, charismatic man. But the RNC was not afraid of running against Hillary Clinton in 2008. The MSM had (has) essentially turned its back on the Clintons and has done much of the work to shut Hillary out. The RNC knew that, thus their letters to members about the failure of the Clinton campaign to capitalize on Bill’s successful presidency. The RNC felt they had a better chance against a “failing” Clinton legacy. They didn’t and still don’t want Barky.

Comment by elise | 2008-07-21 17:14:46

txchelle what a ridiculous argument. Obama campaign went all out to register voters as “Democrats for a day” so he could win the primaries. He bragged about his ability to bring Repugs in to vote for him. He was the friken uniter. How many people do you really think would change their affiliation because Limbaugh told them to? The Obama goal was to win the primaries and he used Repubs to do it and now it makes more sense since he is supporting FISA, Faith Based Initiatives, supported the Supreme Court decision on striking down the ban on hand guns, supports third trimester abortions only for physical health of the mother and has refused public financing. He will say anything, do anything to win and he had the same attitude during the primaries. If he had to destroy lives and careers, it didn’t matter because he was the one he had been waiting for and the end justified whatever dirty tricks he needed.

Comment by txchelle | 2008-07-21 18:19:01

Of course no one would be stupid enough to change their voter registration just because Rush told them to. That’s a ridiculous argument. And I didn’t suggest it.

Several caucus states (including Texas) do not require voters to change their registration to vote in the other party’s primary election, which is why it was safe for Rush Limbaugh to encourage Republicans to vote for Hillary against Obama.

I already stipulated that Obama chased after Republicans with his “Be a Democrat for day” campaign. The Republicans can be blamed for many things, but Obama’s flip-flopping isn’t one of them.

Comment by txchelle | 2008-07-21 18:42:40

To be clear, I do not dispute the fact that some Republicans voted for Obama. What I am arguing is that there were also many Republicans who voted for Hillary against Obama.

This is the best Axelrod can do, I guess.

I wonder how much he pays these punks?

They’re all a product of Bush’s NCLB education process, poor things–obtuse little farts who are plainly lost if they aren’t taking a test about factoids they’ve memorized.

They smugly get most historical events, even recent ones, dead wrong. They have no sense of context.

Their hubris and ego are astounding, though, and match their level of stupidity. I guess this is what happens when, as the late George Carlin noted, no one is allowed to lose, everyone gets a prize even when they suck, so their foolish little self-esteem isn’t bruised …everyone’s a “winner” even when they’ve come in last.

No one has yet, apparently, told this bunch of NIKEs that they’re all LOSERS yet.

It’ll come to them, eventually.

Kelly,

You are right. What these fanatics need to do is donate some cash to eliminate that debt she continued to amass while knowing she didn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of winning. Also to all of you that encouraged her-madness to continue because of some belief that she was the better candidate, you should pony up the cash NOW. Don’t worry about donating to Senator Obama, we’ve got that covered.

The McCain vote is a protest vote; sort of like the anyone but Bush campaign in 04. Senator Clinton’s supporters aren’t lost, we’ll be back when she is.

Comment by elise | 2008-07-21 17:34:11

There are no Clinton supporters definitely in McCain’s corner. It has always been Hillary first.

You don’t seem to understand. HRC supporters are going to McCain because they can’t support Oblahblah under any circumstances. If HRC is the nominee, we’ll be back in a New York minute.

Comment by Clinton Fan | 2008-07-21 19:09:16

I am, quite plainly, a Clinton Fan. I won’t vote for Obama. He is an egomaniacal, hubris laden, flat-out stupid jerk. And his staff of hundreds that swarm around him like gnats are scarier, still.

I may vote for Cynthia McKinney, though…even though she is not the best candidate like Clinton is.

Cynthia’s made a few errors in judgment, but she doesn’t hang around with convicted Syrian slumlords, she doesn’t engage in shady real estate deals, and she knows how many states there are in the union. She can also find the Great Lakes on a map, and I’ll bet she knows how long a Presidential term is, too.

These things do matter.

She is outspoken, she was against the war before Obama started flipflopping about it, she’s got more balls than Obama, AND more experience as well!

That’s a protest vote I can “believe” in!

A BIG SALUTE AND THANKS TO TECHDUDE, POLARIK, AND TEXAS DARLIN FOR EXPOSING THIS FRAUD.

Now, how to get the MSM out of the Obama outhouse and reprogrammed from their contagious hopenosis? Something is drastically wrong with these pompous idiots, when they won’t address a Constitutional, red flagged, raised question like this one. HOW MORE OBVIOUS CAN IT BE???

Comment by chris | 2008-07-21 11:48:12

Good luck with the MSM ever getting straightened out.Fox just reported the NYT refused to print a rebuttal by John McCain to a piece they printed last week from OB. The editor said it (McCain’s) held no new information or viewpoints therefore we chose not to print it. Yikes it is really to the point of almost criminal. The MSM doesn’t even pretnd anymore to be fair and balanced (to borrow a phrase). If there are any journalists out there interested in the truth I’d sure like to hear from them. What a mess.

Comment by educatedwhitewoman | 2008-07-21 13:19:55

Just reported on Fox News by the McCain campaign that the NY Times refused McCain’s op-ed because NYT demanded that McCain set out his timetable for withdrawal, and McCain refused! The surprised reporter asked if the NYTimes was trying to set foreign policy.

Obama needs to show his actual birth certificate to prove he is legally qualified for office. If he’s not, he’s committing a fraud.

Comment by Patrick Walker | 2008-07-21 12:06:53

I suspect that is their plan. To falsely create a “birth certificate” issue, get pilloried in the media for it then drop the real one to show just how biased the media is against Obama.

Bush may be unpopular in the US, but he’s not the only one. The media is too and if Axelrod is that genuinely clever, I expect Birthgate to unfold as I just mentioned above.

Comment by mimi | 2008-07-21 13:03:14

Excuse me, but after the 3 network anchors went on this trip with Obama and didn’t travel with McCain on a similar junket, Obama is in no position to claim media bias.

Comment by jwrjr | 2008-07-21 13:13:13
