We first learned who was behind Obama and his inspiring speeches months ago. Those very speeches that excited the crowds, and drew people in. Those very speeches that many people voted for. Despite the fact that he ever really said anything more than just *hope* and *change*, people saw JFK, MLK and RFK all rolled into one. All because of his moving oratory, early on in the primary. But as I said, we learned who was responsible for those speeches.

So, Obama is really, really successful at reading a teleprompter, and delivering someone else’s words. A puppet, you might say.
Then we learned that Obama was regurgitating words originally given by his friend Patrick Deval. Not once, but many times.
And we not only learned about *borrowed* speeches but also borrowed phrases.
“Sí Se Puede” or “yes we can” is from the United Farm Workers.
“Together we can” was the campaign slogan of Deval Patrick in 2006
“Fired Up! Ready to Go!” is from the NAACP in South Carolina, used by Jondelle Harris Johnson in the Civil Rights marches.
“We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.” is a Hopi Indian saying, used by Alice Walker as the title of her book.
But now we learn that not only is Obama a puppet when it comes to giving speeches, but his foreign policy isn’t his either. I knew he had very little foreign policy experience, if any, but doesn’t he have to do anything?? A cast of 300 prepare him daily? Who are these people that are affecting our foreign policy? Shouldn’t they be running for office, or at least vetted, since they are doing all the work?

I know all candidates, and all Presidents have advisors. I know they all have speech writers. But, if you take away Obama’s great speeches, and you take away his foreign policy advisors, what is left? Seriously. He has not accomplished anything. Nada. Zilch. And the LITTLE that he does do, now, (give speeches or comment on foreign policy) is totally scripted and provided by someone else. And when he speaks to groups like African Americans about taking responsibility, he is threatened with castration. And when he has taken a firm stance on an issue, he completely FLIPS and FLOPS on them - FISA, NAFTA, the surge in Iraq, campaign finance, guns, abortion…
Well, I think we have a pretty good idea of what happens when Obama is left to his own devices. Here are some new ones:

So, again I ask, is he just a puppet? A flip flopping, do nothing, know nothing, present voting, change jobs every two years, never having accomplished anything, hangs out with bigots, racists, and terrorists, gaffe machine, judgment lacking, slumlord buddy, vain, pandering puppet.
What does he stand for, really? We thought he was very left. But now he is moving further and further to the right. We can’t look at his voting history, because it is very un-telling (130 present votes on tough issues- intentional, me thinks) We can’t look at his resume because it is very, very short - he has spent more time campaigning then serving in the Senate (146 days). And his state senate job was part time, meeting 55 days a year.
Hell, we can’t even look at his birth certificate to know if he is who he says he is! We can’t even look to his books for information, because they are full of mistruths, and fictitious characters and situations.
I can’t figure out if he is super calculating and dangerous, or a puppet.
But, who is controlling his strings?

Sorry, he has no accomplishments. His greatest accomplishments are a couple of books that are supposed to be fact but include a fair amount of fiction. He has coasted on his relationships. For a nobody from nowhere, he was able to exploit his relationships to include some of the most powerful people in Chicago. He gerrymandered his Illinois senate district to include some of the wealthiest areas of the city so he could exploit the lakefront liberals. Oh, that’s it! He is a world class, calculating manipulator who uses people and relationships for personal gain. Cuz he hasn’t done much for the people. He had done what he can for HIS people.
The American people are in serious jeopardy of having the worst judgment on earth…two Bush terms and then this figment of his own imagination?
It is making me sick to watch any press coverage on this Iraq trip as he “pretends” that he actually is someone these people need to meet.
Actually he has some accomplishments. He accomplished to line the pockets of his buddies in Chicago and displace thousands of low income AAs in his Chicago district. He accomplished a selected nomination from the DNC and he has accomplished to hoodwink every kool-aid drinker in his support group.
He also accomplished destroying the DNC and creating a great amount of dis-unity in what a few months?
The Democratic Party is about 183 years old…Obama destroyed it in about 6 months, I guess you can call that an accomplishment.

Okay, I’ll bite. Good things about Obama (from someone who will not vote for him):
1. On the surface, many of his stands are progressive. (We just don’t know what he really believes.)
2. He did overcome a horrible upbringing and made something of himself.
3. Has has, on some occasions, spoken unpleasant truths before hostile audiences (like speaking about black churches’ homophobia).
But there’s too much of a void for me to trust in, and he appears super expedient.
Horrible upbringing? I am not sure. How many can say that their mother stuck with the unwanted pregnancy and raised the kid and grandparents who gave him a nice home and education? He seems to have thrown that side of his family under the bus in his quest for adopting an abandoned father’s heritage for his own political expediency.
Are you kidding? His Indonesian stepfather was an oil executive. He went to the nicest prep school in Hawaii while living with grandma & grandpa. His grandmother, who raised him from 10 years of age, was a bank VP. Affirmative action helped land him stints at an Ivy League college and eventually a stint as Harvard Law Review editor, the first candidate to receive that job, NOT on merit, i.e. grades, but because of his minority status; as editor, he never wrote one article for the review, a first! After his tenure, they even changed the rules, requiring that the editor write an article.
His background was rich and luxurious. Filled with private schools and all the trimmings. He was spoiled rotten by his Grandmother. There is no record of student loans, food stamps or scholarships in Obama’s name. His Grandmother paid for everything just like Bushie

I grew up in somewhat humble surroundings, but I’d take a conventional small town upbringing over his global wanderings.
I wish you had read my many postings on this site against Obama. There must be hundreds of them. I have not been bamboozled, and as I stated many times I will not vote for him.
He has had it better than most people on this board.
You are a kind hearted person katmandu, that is why you empathsize with Obama’s childhood. The sad thing is I don’t think Obama is capable of returning the favor. That being said, you’re right, he’s had some tough things in his childhood, but if you look in the biographies of millions of other people you will find hardships. Some succumb to these hardships, some overcome and do great things, and others, like Obama wear these on their sleeve and use their victim status as a tool to manipulate people and the system for their own gain.
I don’t even believe his descriptions of his childhood from his books.
I have read many accounts online from his childhood friends, and co-workers, and family members who contradict his recollections, all the time.
I think he tried to create his story, and make it more dramatic and difficult than it really was.
The media constantly says he was raised by a single mother, living on welfare or food stamps.
His grandparents raised him, while he attended private schools, and she went to university. He had friends, and skipped school to party and screw off. His friends always describe their lives ad normal.
He sure was a fat little kid. Looks like he ate well.

Good post. Scary, isn’t it? In fact in a debate he said he was not an operational (details oriented) guy (read another Bush)and he will hire advisers. So it takes 300 advisers, it looks like to get him ready everyday. Who are they? Are people voting for HIS judgment and integrity or his army of advisers’? 300? The Brzezinski Group is also advising the McCain campaign so don’t expect much difference in foreign policy. That is another example of the entire political process being out of the hands of the voter. Special interests will be represented no matter who is elected. McCain has at least shown some independence in the past. Today’s NYT has a front page article about that.
He has Mark Brzezinski, but I don’t know who else. These creeps will always find their way behind the scenes, and any President will find a lot of people whispering in his ear. Sometimes several people at once. Obama does not stand up well under pressure. He does not like being criticized. I could see him getting real bitter and withdrawing from all decision-making, consoling himself with all the goodies he can pilfer for himself and his adoring throngs (lots of parties and maybe a basketball court!) McCain on the other hand is known for showing a bit of independent thinking. He is experienced and has first hand knowledge of how our military works while we’re in two wars. It’s an open and shut argument. If we had preferred a happy balance between the two, we could have chosen Hillary, but nooooo…

As for who is pulling the strings, we need only look at those instrumental in selecting him in defiance of the majority will. That would be Dean (strong-arming the Rules and Bylaws Committee and non-elected superdelegates), Pelosi and Reid (strong-arming the elected superdelegates) and Kennedy and Kerry (providing access to their massive fund-raising networks). I shudder to think where they would take this country with the unfettered power of controlling their personal marionette in the White House.
Do you think it’s a coincidence that Pelosi is also in Soros’ pocket? That’s why she did not stick up for Hillary nor did she lift a finger to push the DNC to defend her, as they did for BO.
