Obama likely Born in Hawaii — does that mean he’s Eligible?

Based on all the research and analysis to date, here is what I believe today, not to be accepted as fact by anyone who wants to believe something else:
1. Barack Obama was likely born in Honolulu, the hospital still unknown for some reason (why won’t he say?), on Aug. 4, 1961. A birth announcement in the newspaper has been found by one of our researchers*. It looks like this:

2. Although this announcement suggests his parents were married, that’s still an open question. I still don’t know why Michelle Obama recently said that Barack’s mother was “very single” when she had him.
3. Although it’s possible that a birth certificate filed by Barack’s grandparents, while he was actually born elsewhere, led to this newspaper announcement, I personally think that’s unlikely because in 1961 these announcements came directly from the Vital Statistics Office as reported by local hospitals, according to the researcher who found this information.
4. His legal name at birth was Barack Hussein Obama II, and he acquired dual citizenship (Kenyan and US) at, or shortly after, birth.
5. His father didn’t stick around. On a related note, have you noticed that there are no photos of Obama as an infant?
6. His mother traveled from Honolulu to wherever Barack Sr. was because she genuinely believed that they were going to live together as a family. She chased her dream. On her way there, she passed through Mercer Island.
7. But realizing that Barack Sr. had moved on, Stanley Ann Dunham enrolled at the Univ. of Washington for the 1962 Spring Quarter. That turned out to be overwhelming, and she eventually returned to Honolulu and re-enrolled at UH, where she met her second husband, an Indonesian national.
8. Barack’s mother Ann might have acquired Indonesian citizenship when she married Soetoro.
9. Barack Obama almost certainly acquired Indonesian citizenship because he likely was adopted by Soetoro.
10. Not only was Barack Obama officially an Indonesian citizen, he also was a registered “muslim.” Again, I don’t care whether he was or wasn’t, except that he proclaims on his website that he’s “always been Christian,” which I believe to be a false statement.
11. Barack Obama’s original birth certificate might contain something that embarrasses him, or something that could be problematic for him legally. I STILL think he needs to produce a hard copy of the original Birth Certificate, or it looks like he’s hiding something.
12. The COLB on Smears and Kos has likely been altered, as Techdude’s and Polarik’s studies show, but probably reflects Obama’s true birth certificate so it’s not clear how or why it was altered. The way the COLB was handled and its suspicious presentation could have been intended to serve as a diversion from the can of worms Obama doesn’t want anyone to open.
THAT can of worms is the eligibility problem a POTUS candidate faces if that person has EVER held dual citizenship.

We are asking the press, “WHO IS THIS MAN AND WHAT HAS HE BEEN UP TO DURING HIS TIME IN PUBLIC SERVICE??? Where is all of the Campaign Gold coming from? But all I see are dazed enraptured talking heads anymore and truly vicious mouthpieces.
I’m Not Really Sorry for the Obamanation. Some people just need the empty filled. Hopey Changey does the trick, its soothes to zero in on a few singular concepts and drown out all else. Reason, and empathy, is out the door, in fact quite a bit with the soldier borg. Arab is an ethnicity, not a race. Hussein is a name common in many, many non-Arabic countries (India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Malaysia, to name just a few).

If the address of the mother is on the original birth certificate…I suppose the next step would be to check if these addresses match.
You pose an interesting question. If Obama’s mama was so anti-American when she was a highschooler, could she have renounced her citizenship before he was born? If so, or if Barry had DUAL citizenship, or had his citizenship renounced by his mother, his eligibility becomes very clouded. I am of the opinion now that only a federal lawsuit, with an adjoining injunction will force this issue.

The birth announcement doesn’t prove Barack was born in Hawaii. He could have been born anywhere and his mother could have put the notice in the paper.

The grandparents didn’t put that in the paper–someone went over to vital stats from the paper and got that list.

Had Stanley Ann been married to BOBO’s father there would have been a similar listing of their marriage. We need to see the actual RECORD that goes along with this item in one of the main newspaper of that time.

I did some quick research of Kenyan Constitution regarding citizenship. Basically it states that a wife or child of a Kenyan citizen May APPLY for citizenship. It does not appear tht Barry automatically became one by virtue of descent from his dad. It also states that anyone who has dual citizenship must renounce the citizeship of a country other than Kenya in order to maintain Kenyan citizenship.Again since there is no evince Barry did tha he would probably havelost his Kenyan citizenship status if he ever had it CF http://www.immigration.go.ke/faqs.php
Anyone can put a birth notice in the paper. Usually there is an indication of where the list comes from; especially in the 1960s. The newspapers gave a lot more information on local events for both hospital admissions and releases and even arrests.
Stranger still is that no one seems to remember anything about the Dunhams, their daughter, their daughter’s wedding to a foreign student or the birth of their child. Ann Dunham didn’t exactly keep a low profile according to her biography and there is still the question of how a “poor single mother on food stamps” could afford to travel from Hawaii to Washington state in a matter of three weeks at a time when women were still under a doctor’s care for six weeks after birth.
And, the problem of dual citizenship is of utmost concern. We don’t need, and it is strictly forbidden by the natural born clause of the Constitution, a president with dual citizenship from another country. He has to renounce one of them. And if he was adopted by an Indonesian step parent then he has already renounced his America citizenship. Our government is not doing it’s job until this has been definitively investigated.

These birth notices are from the list provided by the Health Department — the registrar of vital statistics.
It has been common for newspapers to publish births, deaths and marriages — these are important sources of information for genealogists. Often the only notice or proof of birth in the early part of America’s history was in local newspapers. Birth records were not common until the 1920s depending on the laws of the state.
When most births took place at home — it was the parent’s duty to get the birth recorded. And at this point we don’t know exactly where BOBO was born — nor do we know exactly what is printed on his valid birth certificate.
You know, everyone is always so careful to say “I don’t care whether he is or is not a Muslim.”

It is possible that his mother wanted him to be born a US citizen and it is possible that records are wrong especially since the hospital he was born at cannot even verify he was born. So how can he be a stat sent off to some place else.
I guess I am confused. The birth certificate is the legal documentation. The newspaper, while compelling, is in and of itself inconsistent with other facts as well which makes it questionable.

The FBI, CIA or someone needs to do something. This is really screwed up.
It would be illegal for the hospital to verify whether he was born there or not. In addition, most hospitals now destroy their records after five years to protect themselves from law suits and law suit discovery.
The announcement is based on an official state record and there is very little chance it is wrong.
Must correct your statement that most hospitals destroy records after 5 years to protect themselves from lawsuits. If a hospital did this, it would cause much more of a legal headache if records couldn’t be produced. They must retain records for a number of years. At a minimum, they would maintain a delivery log showing his mother’s name, date, time and method of birth, weight, and mother’s race. We kept these on my unit for the entire 30 plus years we’d been delivering babies.

I’m not really sure how colonial citizenship laws work but Kenya was a British colony until 1963, with formal ties to the Crown being dissolved in 1964 with the establishment of the Republic of Kenya.
I think I saw this discussion on another blog a few weeks back and they said that when Kenya adopted its constitution that any child of a Kenyan father was a citizen of Kenya.

I think he has about a 65-7O% chance of winning, based on the state polls. Right now, pollster.com (which use aggregate poll data) projects Obama to have 306 EVs, including 260 EVs from states where he has a strong position. McCain has 172 EVs, 92 of which are from strong states.

its not that the grandparents were trying to wedge in a manchurian sleeper - its just that U.S. Citizenship is a very incredible thing that most who given the choice, need to have. It’s how you have full rights in the US of America. Not something to walk away from and the Grandparents would be most protective of that, in the absence of the mother on US Soil.
But he could always get citizenship later. Back in ‘61 it was very easy to get citizenship, especially if your mother was a US citizen. She moves back, brings her child with her, and bingo. US ciizen. Only diff would be not natural born, thus could not be Prez.
Ted, these same questions have been raised with reguard to John McCain’s birth to two American parents in a US Navy base hospital. I understand a question was asked about Barry Goldwater’s eligibility since he was born when Arizona was a territory. Your sarcasm will not stop the questions. Americans like to know everything about a candidate before voting. I asked you this question before and recieved no answer ( although I know the answer and just want you to refresh your memory). Were you not asking for Hillary’s tax returns before the Pa. primary even though it has not been traditionally necessary until a nominee is selected? Now all her returns from 1976-2006 are public record and we have nothing from Obama except the years he has been in the US Senate, 2004-2006. Will you join me now in demanding to see all of his tax returns and his legislative record covering the years he was a public official in Chicago? He has stated he is the nominee, the DNC makes that claim as do his supporters (you)so now is the time for transparency according to his own claims.

For months, folks here have postured that Obama is not a citizen, is not who he says he is, is passing false documents in order to hide something and here TexasDarling is with a post saying he was most likely born in Hawaii, something a casual observer would assume would essentially squelch this entire ridiculous saga.
But no! Folks here have demanded Obama prove this and prove that, when the burden of proof is on YOU, not Obama, and I’m assuming you can’t meet that threshold, otherwise this would be all over the mainstream media.
