Yet Another Clinton Delegate Won’t Vote for Obama
By Charles Lemos on July 28, 2008 at 12:25 PM in Barack Obama, Democratic National Convention, Democratic Nomination, Hillary Clinton, John McCain, Texas
Well maybe at least the Obama campaign can console themselves that she won’t be voting for McCain either. Instead, Clinton Texas delegate Frances Morey of Austin simply plans on leaving the top spot unmarked.
From the Austin American-Statesman:
Frances Morey of Austin, a Clinton delegate to the party’s June state convention, noted that Obama lacks the 2,118 delegates needed to seal the nomination. (Projections put him over the threshold based on surveys of superdelegates — party dignitaries and members of Congress who don’t have to commit until the convention.)
“So why is he prancing around in Europe like he’s the president-elect?” Morey said this week. “I cannot vote for him. I cannot bring myself to vote for this poseur.”
Morey said she’ll likely skip the presidential election on her fall ballot.
She’s not the only Texas Democrat refusing to tow the party line.
Houston lawyer Abraham Levit described himself as a Clinton supporter who intends to vote for McCain unless the Arizona senator makes a foolish choice of a running mate.
“I just can’t see myself voting for Obama,” Levit said, listing as factors Obama’s relative inexperience, what Levit views as the “ruled-by-mob” style of the primary-night caucuses and news reports that the candidate has shifted to the right on some issues.
Still others remain on the fence.
Dallas lawyer Doug Haloftis and his partner, Realtor Trent Hagler, raised more than $500,000 for Clinton. They haven’t committed to Obama.
Haloftis said he told an Obama representative he’d be inclined to raise money if Obama chooses Clinton as his running mate.
“Obviously, my efforts would spring into action,” Haloftis said. “Until that (vice presidential) decision is made, it’s really hard to decide to get on board 100 percent.”
My hunch is that unless Obama goes into the Democratic convention trailing John McCain, Obama will not succumb to choosing Senator Clinton as his running mate. And even then, I tend to doubt that Senator Clinton is interested. She has certainly giving no indication that she is.
But don’t worry, Howard Dean insists that they will come around. Yeah, right. They might come around in 2012 if the Democrats revert to being the party that honours its working class roots. Otherwise, all options are on the table.
From my blog, By The Fault.

Charles I think its great that some of these delegates will not vote for Obama. However, those who have publicly spoken out have been replaced or are in the process of being replaced with the help of the DNC and Obama to secure another delegate who would vote for him. It is sad but that has already happened and I am worried about this women remaining a delegate. I can never vote for Obama on any ticket for any elected office.
It’s the “new” Democratic Party’s idea of democracy and freedom of speech.
I’m hoping there are “Trojan Horse” delegates who observed what happened to the delegate from Wisconsin, and are staying quiet until they get their credentials approved during the convention.
She is obviously a Republican or a racist.
Snark.
yah!! I wonder how many delegates are out thre who they don’t dare to speak out because party boses will kick them out of convention? Those who speak out certainly have my admiration and respect.
Yes. This is true. I’m sure they don’t know what to do — let us know they are supporting our agenda because they won’t vote for him either, or play their cards close to the vest and spring a surprise at the Convention.
How horrible that we are punishing people for exercising free speech in this country.
free speech is being chiped away a little at a time..
http://nativeamericansagainstobama.wordpress.com/
And that’s why the supers vote on secret ballot at the convention. We must get Hillary up for nomination.
The former Clinton campaign chair, Terry McAuliffe, tells MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” the New York Senator, Hillary Clinton, will likely speak at Denver’s Democratic convention on Tuesday, August 26. The VP speaks on Wed. and the Delegate parade is Monday.
Also says Clinton hasn’t been stumping because she’s tending to her Senate duties, adds the Obama camp has a “very extensive” traveling schedule for her once the session wraps up this week.
What a mess this election is. Anyone else still have a sick feeling in their stomach?
Do you think the DNC or Obama camp will be paying her expenses to stump for the O? I doubt it.
OMG! I love that! Poseur, hitting the nail right on the head. Well, she’ll be getting a knock on her door in dead of night from the Black Panthers or the Black Muslims, Barry’s exceptional grassroots workers.
Exactly!
and a Hillary delegate from GA recently told me that based on her experience at previous Dem conventions - those not voting for the presumtive nominee are black balled by the party establishment.
Of course, if there’s not a vote this year on the convention floor….
I know Frances, and must say that I pity the thugs who would try and intimidate her. She is a wonderfully strong and principled woman, born of good Alsace-Lorraine Texan stock.
We need more Frances Moreys!!
Thanks for the post.
I am inclined to study further the play from Brecht:
The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui
We might learn a few tricks that didn’t play out yet.
It chronicles the rise of Arturo Ui, a fictional ’30s Chicago mobster, and his attempts to control the cauliflower racket by ruthlessly disposing of the opposition.
It was written by Brecht in only three weeks in 1941 whilst in exile. The play is consciously a highly satirical allegory of Adolf Hitler in Nazi Germany, whose rise Brecht represented in parallel to that of Ui. All the characters and groups in the play had direct counterparts in real life…
Sorry.
You don’t match the Dunkin’ Doughnuts profile that MSM has assigned to Clinton supporters.
I love “tow the party line”. That’s really descriptive!
THE GREAT AMERICAN RACIAL DIVIDE
WRITTEN BY: A HILLARY LOYALIST
THE GREAT AMERICAN RACIAL DIVIDE WHY IT MAY NEVER END
Hillary Loyalist began a quiet journalistic investigation on a subject that is sure to ruffle a few feathers.
It is an honest perspective from white America. You will discover that the primary was already predetermined, and that Obama will hand out trillions of dollars to the black community and much more. Read it at:
http://hillaryloyalistnowformccain.com/thegreatamericanraciadivide.aspx
I am beginning to believe that the primary was predetermined, and I do believe that black communities think Obama will give them monetary aid. But, given how much he helped those people in Rezko’s tenements, if I were them, I would not be counting my chickens just yet.
I don’t really think BO is all that concerned about the black community. I think he uses them like he does everyone else. Keep in mind, many of his Chicago constiuents are Af-Am, and he turned a blind eye to Rezko’s financial dealings at the expense of poverty-stricken, Af-Americans in need of safe affordable housing.
I have to agree, while I think it is great some delegates won’t fall in line, the DNC is just replacing them w someone who will. Better to keep your mouth shut and then at the convention make your choice known.
I agree with you wodiej
exactly or you’ll end up taking the ‘wisconsin death trip’ and get replaced with an obama lap dancer.
Ditto that, don’t show your cards til the end,Something like Poker,Let’s keep a straight face, until after the convention.
I really hope all the SD’s fall in line for Hillary at the convention. What’s wrong with a floor fight. I’d like to see Obama take the back seat. lol
Go Hillary and Puma
Obama and his campaign thrive on a culture of hate….Texas was so screwed in the primaries…We could have had it worse like FL and MI…Still OBAMA cannot close the deal….WE WON’T FORGET COMRADE DEAN AND COMMISSAR BRAZEAL
People writing to supers: please ask them to keep their switch private if they intend to vote for Hillary - they will be replaced if they do make their choices public. JUST SURPRISE EVERYONE ON THE FIRST BALLOT. The main think is to get that first ballot; not some acclaimation nonsense. Some delegate needs to offer an a motion to have the first ballot as intended; another needs to immediately be ready to second it. It should be done during prime time.
Oh I can tell you what the results of the first ballot will be.
2499 for barky and 1 for Clinton.
There is now way they will allow it to happen any other way.
You wanna bet
Good for her for coming forward with her true feelings.
As one taking heat from even this site, I must say I deeply respect those who speak from their heart.
Don’t ever quit saying what’s on your mind. I don’t want this site to become one dimensional (troll poop doesn’t count). I would like to think that some of the SD’s are getting tired of Obama’s premature victory lap.
Wouldn’t it be great if people all SAID they were voting for Obama when the pollsters call, then in November voted McCain (unless Hillary was nominated).
WooHoo, I can hear the crying now, waaaaaa waa waaaaaaa
isn’t not supporting Obama grounds for being removed as a delegate?
Yes - based on recent defections made public.
No cameras = No Obama
NObama!
Was there ever a primary where this kind of open disunity happened? When disgruntled supporters of one candidate openly and publicly refused to support the other?
Can’t recall one, and I’ve been a political junkie for many, many years (probably longer than most Obamajunkies have been alive!). The last really vicious in-fight I recall was the Dean/Kerry smackdown, and that got pretty vicious at times but by the time Kerry had the nomination there was no more open sniping. Certainly no organized anti-Kerry movement. When Bill Clinton ran, there was some amusement but little contention because the DNC tended to view him as a willing sacrifice to the “unbeatable” RNC ticket, nobody expected him to actually win. The party has always underestimated the Clintons.
1980 Dem convention - Jimmy Carter was the presumptive nominee, but Ted Kennedy took his campaign to the Convention floor - and lost.
As shown on national TV, Kennedy refused to shake hands with Carter - no unity in 1980!
But Kennedy expects Hillary to bend over for Obama PRIOR TO the convention.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1980_Democratic_National_Convention
Kennedy was probably pissed that he got beat by a peanut farmer.
He probably was, but I remember a lot of people not wanting to vote for him because they feared that yet again- another Kennedy would be killed.
AnninCa, the heat you’re taking is totally undeserved.
Please don’t turn into what you hate, people.
Oh, so the lack of direction in regards to PUMA is coming from your heart, AnninCA?
Well, then don’t judge the works of PUMA as being minimal or misdirected.
If your heart was pure on this matter you would support, even though you personally cannot participate.
Intent is a very loaded proposition and it would appear that your intent needs to become more clear without the judgement.
Yes Buzz…that’s my point too. It’s not the dissent, it’s the judgmental attitude I object to.
woomp there it is!!
NO MO BAMA!!!
WooT!!
HILLARY IS POTUS..
OMMMMMMM
Obama went to the doctor today complaining of a sore hip….well, if he was doing what he was supposed to be doing instead of playing negro ballet { basketball} it wouldnt have happened and i agree there is something about annincal that alot of the time doesnt quite sound right to me either.
Negro ballet? Wow…..
This stupid shit doesn’t belong here. We’re not racists.
More and more are really seeing obama for what he ‘really’ is. EMPTY
The Friday-Sunday poll, mostly conducted as Obama was returning from his much-publicized overseas trip and released just this hour, shows McCain now ahead 49%-45% among voters that Gallup believes are most likely to go to the polls in November. In late June, he was behind among likely voters, 50%-44%.
http://blogs.usatoday.com/onpolitics/
Great! Can we send him on another overseas trip?
LOL! Good one!
try again dead ender!
Gallup’s daily tracking poll today finds that Obama has moved into a nine point lead over McCain, 49%-40%, the largest spread since Gallup started tracking the general election in March.
Meanwhile, today’s CNN poll of polls finds Obama’s national lead has doubled from last week to six points, though it’s unclear whether this simply reflects the new Gallup numbers.
Late Update: The 49%-40% number is in fact yesterday’s number, not today’s. But today’s is practically as good: Obama 48%, McCain 40%.
Obama had these same numbers when hillary was beating him by 20 points in some states. The election is not based off of national votes. It is state by state. So right off the bat the poll is unreliable. In state to state comparisons they are in a dead heat.
Could you even imagine the Polls sore,if Clinton was determined to be the nominee instead of Obama. The mercury would heat up and over flow.lol
further more, how can you site a poll whose only repsondance are those whom actually pick up the phone. If gallup ever called me, I wouldn’t recognize the number and wouldn’t pick up the phone.
Well they would never be able to call me in the first place cause they don’t have my number. Although i bet i could go on their website and register and give my number to them. Hmm interesting. Wonder if the Obama campaign requires all affiliates to register with each poll.
HRC
Are you kidding?
No way she will be on the ticket with that fool. I hope he asks and she says thanks but I am just as much the presumptive nominee as you are………
Oh and just in case anyone has not noticed……..
Hillary………..The other presumptive nominee…..
She is busy being a Stateswoman in he US Senate working for the American People. She will continue until the August break.
Obama could have stayed in the US and done his job in the US Senate but he has not done his job since he became a US Senator why start now?
Hillary is a stateswoman………not a politician by profession…………THERE IS A VERY BIG DIFFERENCE!
She’s busy getting her substantial debt repaid. Remember that she took quite a bit of time off to go campaign, too. If she were still running for prez, she’d still be missing votes.
This is interesting:
http://myrightwingdad.blogspot.com/2008/07/fw-obama-death-list.html
the super d’s will vote with a secret ballot.
for a reason, as has become recently apparent in the treatment of the open super’s backing off from the presumptive barack.
and i’m thinking there are lot more than we know who are having buyers remorse vis a vis barry o.
the DNC/chicago mob/ obamcoup players, etc…..are going to be mighty surprised, if not at the convention, then certainly at the results of the GE.
(that is if they are not the vote tallyers.)
these are not times for the fainthearted.
if Hillary isn’t the nominee in november, then McCain must win the GE.
a vote for McCain is a vote against obama.
then, in 4yrs…Hillary.
Nobama in Nobemeber. lets make it happen folks.
“Yet Another Clinton Delegate”?
You mean two delegates total. Oh man, it’s a ground swell!
I am 1 in that 18 million who lurk but don’t respond. Do you realize how many thousands of lurkers there are in this forum who do not respond but read the NO QUARTER everyday.I pray it will be a “ground swell” at the GE when Hillary wins and gets this country and it’s values back. I am so amazed that more people don’t see Obama as a poseur.
What a great word!!!!!
po-seur..n…One who affects a particular attribute, attitude, or identity to impress or influence others…..fits him to a T.

Your not alone, I also come to NO Quarter everyday to keep up on what’s going on, but I very seldom post . Just 1 of 18 MILLION …
Hillary POTUS 2008 or Johnny boy if they screw us again..
I received an invitation to the DNC from Tom McMaon and he said “One month from today, more than 75,000 Americans will join Barack Obama at the first truly open Democratic National Convention in a generation.
If you make a donation in any amount before midnight this Thursday, July 31st, you could join Barack backstage before he accepts the Democratic nomination.
Watch this short video invitation from Barack and make a donation of $5 or more today”
Open convention? What arrogance!
Leave racism to the Obots, please. That’s just unacceptable.
I’m from Texas and Hillary took my precinct handily in the caucus. The Obama spokesman was rude and vindictive. Obvious he was a “Party” shill and roughneck.
Since Obama’s ‘victory’ in the ‘fix is in’ primary, I have sworn off supporting the DNC and the Democratic Party in general. I am an Independent, have been for years, but my politics are more moderate and middle of the road than either of the current political parties. Both seem to focus on Party rather than Country.
I gave money to Hillary, but won’t to Obama. He doesn’t seem to need it. IOW, I don’t have a dog in this fight.
OBAMA WAS THE TROJAN HORSE CANDIDATE OF THE ‘NEW’ DEMOCRATIC PARTY ADVANCING/CONTINUING THE INTEREST OF THE NUCLEAR ENGERGY MILITARY LOBBIES. SOROS, FORD, BILLIONAIRES CLUB…GE OWNERS OF MSNBC MEDIA BARONS ALL IN THE TANK FOR OBAMA.
AND WHY DID THEY PICK BARACK. NO, NOT FOR HIS SPEECHES ONLY.
HE IS BLACK…SO THE MEDIA COULD NOT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT HIM AS THE OBAMA CAMPAIGN PLAYED THE ‘RACE-BAITING CARD” –as they did with Bill Clinton!
Pure Genius, GE, Haliburton, Military contractors, Media Kings….a Black Candidate…a shoo-in…and He was..who cares if a competent, intelligent, and the best candidate, who happened to be a woman, however powerfull her clan, got bashed by the media. It was perfect for the Obama campaign:
Bash the woman on air-time. but you can’t bash the guy…hell, he’s BLACK! You are a RACIST. BUT IT’S OKAY TO BE A MISOGYNIST MEDIA FRAT-BOY PUSHING HIS AGENDA!
Presto! the making of a FRAUDULENT PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE!
I live in Texas and in an urban center. My husband and I were life long Democrats. I have posted some comments on the Texas caucus proceedure. Over the years we have been contributors and active Democrats.I can not describe to you the two caucuses my husband and I attended, the precinct and the Senatorial district.Clinton voters were jeered at, shouted down, some were so frightened they would not stay when it became time to separate and select the delegates at the precinct level. Clinton had 15% of the vote, but only 2% stayed. Most just left and some hid out with the OBama supporters. Voters were to be there by 7:PM and the door locked. They kept coming in until almost 11:PM, some without registration, some without any identification, just give a name. One Clinton supporter had to flee, on foot to a police station with a gang chasing after her, another turned in the Clinton sign in sheets and within minutes as the count began, the sheets were lost. I could go on and on, because it was terrible, but as a result I was going to change my registration to Independent, now I am a PUMA and hope to help change this party.
What a disgusting story. The more I hear about Obama’s campaign tactics (and those of his supporters), the more disturbed I become with the idea of him running our country.
PUMA, as long as intimidation is considered an “acceptable” tactic
My fondest wish is that Senator Clinton refuses to “succumb” to any request by the “O”. She has accomplished more on the political stage than any woman in history! She deserves more than making coffee for the “boss”! No VP…I think that is the one thing that could save this “turkey’s” a&&!
She would not be making him coffee; he has a “sweetie” for that. No, she’d be cleaning up after his numerous gaffes and “uhhhhs”…So essentially, she’d be a maid. How misogynist.
If the Democrat party doesn’t want to listen, I’m voting Republican.
http://imvotingrepublican.com/
IF HILLARY NAME IS NOT GONNA BE PLACED IN THE NOMINATION PROCESS ACCORDING TO THE PARTY RULES ;OBAMA ALREADY THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY NOMINEE AND BEHAVING AS WELL,SUPER DELEGATES NOT ALLOW TO EXCERCISE THEIR INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENTS IN CASTING THEIR VOTES FOR THE BEST AND STRONG CANDIDATE CAPABLE OF WINNING IN NOVEMBER ;CAN SOMEONE TELL ME NOW WHAT THE AUGUST CONVENTION IN DENVER IS ABOUT.
The Donna Brazile - Karl Rove Connection
BY ROSEMARY REGELLO
It’s not every activist politico who gets to write a post in the Washington Times that begins like this: “As I sat by my window and staring out at the wonderful Washington, D.C., landscape, my office announced a phone call from Air Force One.”
Evidently, Donna Brazile was reminding all the little people on Capitol Hill that she had friends in high places. In summer of 2007, Bush senior advisor Karl Rove wasn’t answering any subpoenas from Congress, but he didn’t mind talking to Brazile. From his perch at 20,000 feet, he informed her that this was probably a good time for him to get out of Dodge.
“Mr. Rove’s resignation is not a retirement,” Brazile reassured readers of the right of center newspaper. “It’s just another opportunity for him to create that lasting Republican majority he envisioned years ago and to spend his waking days doing what he so enjoys — beating Democrats in the alleys and gutters. Just ask Sen. Hillary Clinton, Mr. Rove’s target when he called in to speak to Rush Limbaugh. He couldn’t help it. Mr. Rove just had to take one last shot before riding out of town. More to come, Team Clinton.”
Brazile’s breezy account confirms what many have long since suspected. Rove’s claim to be sitting out the 2008 race is hogwash. The mastermind of today’s unraveling U.S. constitution is in no position to kick back, down gin fizzes and watch the country collapse under an Administration he put into office twice. The list of crimes that Bush’s top henchman could potentially be charged with - everything from fraud to war crimes - should be enough to keep him and his fellow Sopranos in hair-trigger mode until the next president gets sworn in. And the notion that he’d leave the choice of commander-in-chief in less capable dirty hands than his own requires more than the willing suspension of disbelief. It requires medication.
(more…)http://noquarterusa.net/blog/2008/07/27/the-donna-brazile-karl-rove-connection/#more-3797
This is why we are fighting.Donna Brazile had this set up.Karl Rove I wonder if he got the hell out of dodge.

OBAMA’S HUGE CROWDS
Once again the media is unable to get a story straight, so I turn to those of you who still think it matters (I do!)
The media has been reporting that 200,000 Berliners flocked to hear Barack Obama. The photo is on the front page of the Washington Post and many other papers. They neglected to mention that he followed a free concert by 2 VERY popular groups.
This is exactly what happened when the media reported 75,000 voters who flocked to see Obama in Portland a few months ago — when in fact, his speech there was also attached to a free rock concert.
Let us not forget how the media used their sexist words against Hillary and all women. This video shows that even the media who are sexist trys to speak for all men of how they feel of women.
This is your wife~ Your mother~~Your daughter~You grandmother and you sister that the media has used this presidential race to discredit all women ~ The media is well useing alll the great men who stands up for their wifes~ Mothers~daughters~grandmothers and your sister.
This is wrong!I love my wife~My mother~ My daughters~These men here are so hatefull~How can anyone of them who here say such a thing? What about their daughters!Wifes~Mothers~and siters. Is it hey go with it. I will not have anyone speak to my wife~Mother or daughter in this way!My grandmother was a hard working ,loving person.R.I.P Mema My grandfather was a loving man who stood by his wife and family.R.I.P Papa I love you!
With Mekki I believe that is her name sit their a listen to this.Really I guess her job means more to her then her family if she has a daughter,How could she allow this.It shows that her job is more inportant. Shame on you all at MSNBC!Shame.
Shame on the democratic party who allowed this as well as they are in with MSNBC to do this on all women and Hillary the best candidate we have.

HOPE AND CHANGE JUST EMPTY WORDS
CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN?
I get it. I’m converted. I believe in change. Amen. Halleluiah! Put me on the change bandwagon. I want Change! Change I can believe in. Not small change either. I want the whole tamale. We need fresh blood, new meat, and innovative ideas in Washington. We need new leadership.
So let’s get rid of the good old boys who control Washington. I know they agree with me.
Ted Kennedy, Massachusetts Senator. “With Barak Obama, we will close the book on Old Politics,” Senator Ted Kennedy, January 28, 2008. That means you babe. You’re part of that closed book. Besides you ignored the voters of Massachusetts who voted for Hillary by a fourteen point margin, and endorsed Barack Obama. Ignoring your constituents and the will of the people is old politics.
John Kerry, Massachusetts’ other Senator. “I continue to believe that this election is about the future, not the past, and that the country needs a president that will change the status quo and change the Washington system and to give voice to all of those who voices are ignored in the corridors of power,” John Kerry, January 10, 2008. Well John, women are the most disenfranchised people in government. You didn’t give voice to the women of your state who voted for Hillary in record numbers when you endorsed Obama. Bye-bye John. Make room for the young and the new.
Nancy Pelosi. Speaker of the House of Representatives. “ Frankly his lack of Washington experience, in my view is a giant plus, because he comes here free, free and fresh and new, and not hamstrung by Washington, DC, which is a city of status quo,” Nancy Pelosi, June 28, 2008. Well Nancy, you are part of that status quo and the ultimate insider. You stood silently by as a woman was sexually harassed by the press and the media. Resign and make room for change.
Howard Dean, Chairman of the DNC. Howard, you’re tired, tired, tired and worse you’re ineffective. You’ve been a governor of Vermont, a presidential candidate and head of the DNC, it’s time for some new faces. The head of the DNC has never been a woman, so move over and allow a woman to have your job. That would be change.
Bill Richardson, Governor of New Mexico. “It is time for a new generation of leadership to lead America forward,” March 21, 2008. Well guess what? You’re part of the old generation. Besides you endorsed Obama after Clinton won your state, and you were adamant in numerous public statements, that super delegates should follow the will of the voters. When questioned about your endorsement, you replied, Hillary only won New Mexico by a small margin. Talk about splitting dog hairs.
Let’s clean house. Let’s not just get rid of the ultimate Democratic insiders, but also the people that run their campaigns. How about David Axelrod, Mark Penn, Donna Brazile and Mark Squire? You’ve all got to go. You’re all graduates of the school of dirty politics. The politics of change needs new leaders, women leaders.
And now let’s talk about the Vice-Presidency. Since we have a white male and a black male running for president, let’s be fair and nominate two women. Last I looked women were over half the population, so why not give us half the slots. A real seat at the table, that would be change, wouldn’t it? I’d be happy to volunteer for VP, I don’t have much experience in politics, but that doesn’t matter. If one-hundred-forty-three days of national experience is enough to run for president, what the hell, my twenty-one day tour of Europe during graduate school and my African safari two years ago should qualify me as an international expert. Did I mention I lived in Japan for a year? Besides I’d only be attending funerals anyway.I’m well prepared. I own a few black suits. A heartbeat away from the presidency you say. Well I promise, I’m smarter that George Bush, cuter than Richard Nixon, and more honest than Dick Chaney.” Anyway I’m one of the people and I promise to tell the truth, does that count for anything?
America stand up together Throw out all the old names above and start a clean fresh Washington

Great post
Two Thursday’s ago, June 26th, I attended a meeting in Washington, D.C. with Senators Clinton and Obama. Incorrectly labeled a “fundraiser” by the press, it was supposed to be a small gathering of Hillary’s national finance committee and while there were a few in attendance to write checks to the Obama campaign that night, many did not.
Prior to this gathering, I had had several discussions and meetings with many staunch Obama supporters. These friends have all been exceptionally gracious in reaching out and have been willing to listen to the concerns brought forth. Many have eagerly awaited welcoming HRC supporters on board. So I was genuinely looking forward to the evening in Washington with an open mind, if not an open checkbook. Having already met Senator Obama in Scottsdale several years ago, I was truly hoping to see what my friends had related to me in oh-so many ways. I was hoping to be wowed, not wooed. I wanted to hear something that would bring me totally on board with the many friends and fellow Oregon delegates who support Senator Obama.
The first question during the very brief Q&A period dealt with a persistent rumor about Hillary’s name NOT being on the first ballot in Denver. As a Clinton delegate, I am looking forward to representing the people who voted for me at the 1st CD convention and the 259,000 Oregonians who voted for Hillary in May. I also feel a level of responsibility to the 18 million voters who must be respected, heard, and no longer invisible. Hillary has expressed this sentiment so much more eloquently than I ever could. So I, along with others on Hillary’s finance committee who are elected delegates, wanted to hear that there would be an open convention in which Hillary Clinton’s name is placed into nomination and delegate votes are registered by roll call — as has been the procedure at Democratic conventions throughout modern history.
The people I have been in the trenches with for the last 18 months all feel that Hillary’s achievements as the first woman to present a serious challenge must be recorded for history – especially since convention week includes the 88th anniversary of women’s suffrage. Imagine attending THE convention that celebrates the phenomenal achievements of generations of women in politics! What would be a better way to join splintered Democratic constituencies into a winning alliance? After all, if the sensible shoe were on the other foot, would anyone in his or her right mind even think of suggesting that Senator Obama’s name not be placed in nomination? Gary Hart, Ted Kennedy, Jesse Jackson, Joe Biden, Jerry Brown, Paul Tsongas (among others) have ALL had their names placed in nomination with far fewer than 1,896 delegates.
My friend who asked the question in DC explained that if we, on the finance committee, were expected to put our time, energy, effort, and rolodexes into getting Senator Obama elected, we wanted some assurance that we would be able to vote for Hillary in Denver.
We all thought it was a reasonably benign question with a relatively simple answer. I was absolutely stunned when Senator Obama replied that that there were many issues that needed to be “negotiated” and we would not have a “negotiating session” that night. He did attempt to placate us by saying that Hillary would be “front and center” at the convention. He also told the woman who asked the question that he DID want her rolodex. Answers to other questions about the blatant misogyny and reducing Hillary’s campaign debt were no more satisfying.
My deep disappointment in the entire process and the outcome is not likely to dissipate yet I remain hopeful. Everyone needs to do what he or she is comfortable doing between now and November. And EVERY decision deserves respect. I have yet to decide whether I will write a check to Senator Obama’s campaign. And I am not asking you to contribute at this time - I cannot in good conscience make this request of anyone until Senator Obama commits to allowing a first ballot roll call vote. So for right now, I am focused on making sure that elected Hillary delegates and super-delegates CAN vote for her in Denver.
Another important endeavor for which I will ask assistance is reducing Hillary’s campaign debt to vendors. She is not asking anyone to help pay back the money that she personally loaned to the campaign, which she regards as her own investment. If you haven’t already maxed out to Hillary, please contribute whatever you can (all amounts large and small are welcome): http://www.hillaryclinton.com/contribute/jsc44.

As for donations.I would ask Larry is he willing to have us donate the money to him to give to Hillary.
It’s hard to trust anyone at this point

when he made the key note address at the 2004 convention. However it did not take long for me to realize that Barak Obama is a man of weak character who speaks out of both sides of his mouth.
To you Obama supporters who are so angry with your would be savior for caving in on FISA, direct some of that anger towards yourselves. The woman so many of you disrespected, Hillary Clinton, voted against the FISA bill! Now Barak Obama tells us that he is opposed to partial birth abortion. Well that is pretty amazing to someone who knows all about his defeat of a law that simply stated that you cannot kill an infant who survives an abortion. If any of Barak Obama’s enthusiastic supporters had just taken the time as I did to examine his voting record, they would not have had to wait until now to be disillusioned. They could have easily figured out that Barak Obama will say or do what ever is politically expediant at the time. They would not be scratching their heads now over his vote on FISA and his objection to Partial Birth Abortion after he fought for actual infanticide while in the Illinois senate. Unfortunately all of us democrats are forced to deal with the consequences of Obama supporters and their lack of judgement. We had amazing talent to choose from this primary year. Joe Biden, Dennis Kucinich, Hillary Clinton all of whom would have made outstanding presidents. But democrats are now stuck with Obama the appointed, that is unless they have the courage to stand up and say no. I am not sure if I will vote for Ralph Nader again or if I will check the polls and vote for John McCain if the race is tight. I am sure of one thing. Barak Obama is not worthy of my vote and will never have it. Thank you republicans, for electing your best candidate for the rep. nominee. Next time maybe we democrats will get it right.
