When Obama starts reaching for the race card for no apparent reason you know he is against the wall and has run out of options.
I have told people that Obama is not just going to lose, but he is going to lose in a landslide:
- That world tour may have impressed the Grey Goose drinkers but it had the opposite effect on the Crown Royal drinkers.
- His complete lack of experience (my son at 27 has far more accomplishments).
- The unchecked and overwhelming support from mainstream media is having a backlash.
- His energy policy of inflating tires, getting a tune-up and waiting 20-30 years for his development of alternative energies (see his website) will not only make him lose but he could take Congress with him.
- His association with Jeremiah Wright.
In ‘92 I made a bet with a GOP lobbyist friend of mine over the Clinton/Bush election. Instead of betting him on win/lose I bet him on Clinton winning and winning what states he will win. I actually won that bet (lucky).
As much as Hillary would have beaten McCain convincingly the GOP knows they were handed a gift with Obama. There is a woman I know who is GOP operative who would have taken a pass on McCain had the Democrats nominated Hillary. But with Obama she and others are energized to prevent a catastrophe.
McCain will be a one term President and this time Dems won’t be stupid. Hillary in 2012.
Susan, I agree WHOLEHEARTEDLY in your prediction and I’ve felt this way for weeks and weeks now! I’ve never had even the slightest feeling that he would win. I think we may even be able to start taking bets on whether he’ll lose 30-35, 35-40 or 40-45 states. Hillary in 2012…

It is good, and as an R myself, I wouldn’t mind a one-term president at all. Just hope he declares it so there’s never any compromises to keep a second-term open.

I don’t get why people find it so shocking that voters cross party lines to vote for the other side. It happens in every election. I know a lot of Republicans that crossed party line to vote for Hillary and with no help from Rush. They’re moderate Republicans. The same as there are moderate Democats. We have Democrats, Republicans, and Independents that post here. Several of us have changed our party because of this fiasco. I’m now not-declared to any party. I wouldn’t call it mooching when citizens come together for a common goal. For the betterment of all. Or are Democrats and Repulicans supposed to view themselves as enemies? Are superior to one another. That’s childish, and why we have both parties sitting up there now playing the school ground bully instead of working together towards a common goal that will work for us all.

If Obama won’t do townhalls with McCain, then McCain should do his own and have them simulcast on the intertnet. I heard it was a winning strategy for “other” candidates.
He is doing them regionally. Mac was here in NEPA, (North East Pennsylvania), recently and it was a big to-do here, if not nationally. It was televised live by the local channels and covered in all the local media. And it was positive coverage and the locals received him well.
Without a doubt obama has left this area scratching their collective heads. The common sense attitude says unanimously: “if not our Scranton girl Hillary then we will vote for Mac.”
Besides religion and guns the people of this region cling to their flags and their dollars. They also cling to their votes. They swing from their normal blue to red when they don’t like a candidate, and ob did not gain their trust. He made a terrible impression here by telling lies in his OIL ad, which were ferreted out disclosed by the local media. As salt of the earth types, they were not hoodwinked by an elitist liar.
There will be a dignified and steady stream of voters to the polls for McCain, and it will be in the same 2:1 proportions as it was for Hillary.
Mac will get around 70% of the NEPA vote to ob’s 30. ob will do well only in Philly, while the rest of PA, the Hillary counties, will turn Red.
And yes, republicans here were counting on Clinton to win, they preferred her to Mac by far.
Mac’s town hall here had a very respectful and transparent tone. The questions were thoughtful and the answers were truthful. Very solid and old-fashioned boring - just what this electorate wants in a President. They don’t go much for Rock Stars and they can’t stand arrogant hype.
They laughed at his attempt to win them over by bowling and they hated the way he treated Hillary.
They love the Clinton’s here and they show respect to their mothers, sisters and daughters. The women bashing backfired big time, rightly so.
I constantly heard men here say they never voted for a woman before but Hillary earned their votes.
Some of those men were life-long republicans who had misgivings about all the Clinton hatred spewed by their party over the years. They did well under Bill and knew they could trust Hill to work hard and do the right thing for all of us.
McCain is conducting a traditional campaign here, the only difference this year is the constant blanketing of TV ads before official nominations.
Ob outspent Hill here on TV 4:1 but she beat him in a landslide. History will repeat and Mac will win no matter what ob does. Throwing money at TV ads doesn’t help if the product is a lemon.
Thank you for this post — feels good to hear that Hillary and indirectly we are vindicated. The Party has screwed it up so much it does not look like they will do any course correction. I am waiting for the day Obama becomes a laughingstock and that will happen even before Nov.
Your post really resonates with me and confirms what I experienced in PA. I am a Michigan Hillary supporter who volunteered in PA for the primary in the Monaca area which went 70% for Clinton. I knocked hundreds of doors and made hundreds of phone calls. The voters I spoke with did not like or trust BO. It makes sense that they would cross the aisle and support Senator McCain.

Karen, thank you for your post. I am a native Pennsylvanian. I grew up in Bethlehem where, sadly, they are now turning the old steel mill into a casino. I grew up in a working class neighborhood where the people were solid and trustworthy. While I now live in Georgia near Atlanta — I have family and friends still living in PA and it is still home to me. Obambi will never win PA and it will be one of the states that sinks him. He doesn’t understand, nor does he want to, the people there. His comments made in San Francisco during the primary bear that out. My brother, a lifelong PA Republican, loved Hillary and was considering voting for her in November. The DNC has caused its own mess by HANDING the primary election to the wrong candidate with no experience.

Hillbuzz had a story that the netbots are keeping tabs on John King of CNN because of his “racist” perspective. It seems he said that some voters find Waffles arrogant. Commentary is the new racism.
The race card accusation is turning on them. McCain has done none of it and people are starting to see that Obama is the only one talking about it and he’s whining. Even his CNN pal Roland Martin said “They made a mistake and I don’t know if they can get out of it.”
We all saw it happen in the primary against Clinton and saw how unfairly she was pushed out. When they employ the same strategies, GoP will not give in — they are smarter for having already seen it in the primary. I saw the video of Obama making those statements in the townhall and he had the same mocking and ridiculing tone he used to use against Hillary and he thought it would work. But now he has to contend with GoP and also disgruntled Democrats.
That’s not even commentating that King did. It’s reporting. People definitely feel this way. More attempts at Stalinistic monitoring of the party line by the Obamabots. And, as has been said, it’s backfiring.

Obama’s status as a current United States Senator alone rates a higher degree of respect than that–particularly in the context of an advertisment endorsed by another current United States Senator, who is also running for the office of President.
The negative racial undertones Obama alluded to are in fact present in the ad. Why do you suppose the people who created the ad picked images of two youthful, blond, female “celebrities” to juxtapose with images of a black man? They’re deliberately punching a racial button with white, mainstream America. Did that subliminal negative ad content really fly right over your head?
Obama has reduced his own stature and has no one to blame but himself. Obama will live or die with the race card since that is the only thing he has left. He never had experience, judgment, leadership, intelligence, unity, etc. that his campaign tried to pull over on people.
