An Insightful Note From a Reader on Bill Clinton’s Comments on GMA

A NoQuarter reader sent me an insightful remark about Bill Clinton’s interview on GMA, along with a link to the article featuring the video by “garychapelhill” at Riverdaughter’s blog, The Confluence: “America calls Obama’s bluff on the race card.” First, here’s the video. Next, the reader’s must-read insights on what Bill Clinton really meant:

Then, our reader writes:

If you notice, at the beginning of the video, Bill makes a comment about Obama being held to a different standard than others who have run for president, but he also said (around the 44 second mark): “That everybody has a right to run for president as long as they’re qualified under the Constitution” (emphasis mine).

Here’s the thing - I have followed Bill’s political career for a long time (and I have studied it closely because I am a political scientist) and he did NOT say this accidentally. This is a message to TexasDarlin’ (I am sure he knows all about her posts and her reports) to keep pressing in on the citizenship/birth certificate issue.

Though I can probably never prove this (and Bill would likely deny it, if he were ever confronted with it), I know that Bill was trying to say - “keep going!”

NOTE: That is NOT what Bill Clinton said. We’re just reading between the lines, perhaps hopefully.

How’s that for insight?

Oh yes, that was a cue to keep at him on that issue alright. We have to bring down that shady operation BHO has going.

Comment by simanov | 2008-08-05 14:10:35

According to Techdude and Texas Darling the COLB used for the forgery is Maya Kassandra Soetoro’s, Obama’s sister who supposedly was born in Indonesia.
I wonder if this is a pattern where Ann Dunham would give birth outside of the US and fraudulently obtain an American COLB in order to insure citizenship for her children.

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-08-05 14:52:22

She scammed food stamps while she was receiving govt aid for her college tuition.

Comment by BernieO | 2008-08-05 16:29:14

PLEASE provide more information on this. I am sick and tired of the media buying the fairy tale that Barack came from a deprived background. His mother was a college graduate who went on to get a PhD. Both grandparents were also college grads and grandma became the first female VP of the largest bank in the state. His stepfather was also college educated and had a good job in an oil company in the Phillipines.

Instead of being proud of this heritage which so clearly valued education Obama wants us to believe that his grandparents let him and his mother live in poverty subsisting on food stamps. What a scam. Bet grandma would like to slap him silly.

Comment by Linda C. | 2008-08-05 19:56:09

Many graduate students were in food stamps at the time. It was when we valued education and would help grad students with expenses including food stamps. It was figured that the government would get their investment back when these students graduated with higher salaries paying back more in taxes than the initial expense of providing the benefit.

Comment by bemused | 2008-08-05 20:25:07

I don’t think anyone has actually pinpointed that time when she took foodstamps, but best bet would be when she was in WA state in 1962. It’s the only time she was really on her own with BO and trying to go to school–hmm, who was the babysitter? Her friend on Mercer Island? Anyway, otherwise she was supported by someone or not in the US as far as I know. I hate that poverty shtick too.

Comment by Dee | 2008-08-05 23:50:09

Food Stamps were not yet available in 1962. The earliest year would have been after 1965.

Could the sister have been born in Hawaii? I think any American woman would have returned to the States during that period rather than give birth in an Indonesian hospital. And she and her husband had enough money for her to do that.

Comment by Dr. bobbi Anne White | 2008-08-05 16:55:39

But as it was pointed out earlier, Lolo had to adopt Barry so he could attend public schools which are only available to citizens. so why would may be born in Hawaii.
The whole thing smells like Grandma Dunham who was a VP in a bank had enough connections to get bc’s for her grandkids wherever they were born.

You guys are right on. Bill loves Hillary dearly. She is not only his wife, but his best friend. I don’t think he values anyone’s judgment as much as hers. He knows she was treated unfairly and would give anything to see this fraud brought out in the open. I only hope it happens in time to make her our CIC.

Susan, I see it as a curious coincident also, kind of a statement out of the blue out of context. I think He knows something more about the Fairy Tale of Obama.

Comment by BernieO | 2008-08-05 16:30:38

Of course he does. Their oppo research had the facts, but Axelrod and Co. made sure that using them would have tarred the Clintons as racists.

Comment by valsthewoman | 2008-08-05 15:39:11

Of course that is what he meant. I replied on Puma Blog this morning that Bill is very aware that Obama is not qualified under our constitution. But here is another angle. Hillary Clinton is well aware of this situation. Go back and take a peak at the bill Bo co-sponsered to make sure McCain qualified. It is said that he wanted to change a certain sentenance that would make some believe that even Calif Gov could run. So there may be a double meaning to this statement. 1. keep pressing the issue. 2. there may be an interpetation to the bill passed that will qualify him. Someone needs to research this angle that has law experience.

Comment by Truudy | 2008-08-05 18:40:20

I thought they had it in the bill. I think before it came to a vote.I think the senate took that part of it out. This was Ms McKaskill or however you spell her name. I read it some place, can’t remeber where. I think that it was here at NQ.

Comment by Factcheck2 | 2008-08-05 19:40:00

Pres. Clinton should come right out and say what he feels. It’s clear from his body language he knows Obama has no business getting the nomination - not because of a birth certificate technicality but because he’s a bad person. His tone in that interview accurately reflects what most Americans think (and are angry about).

Hopefully this truthtelling will continue. Why not reveal how this election was a concocted fraud and call on the DNC to investigate the thousands of voter complaints that have so far been ignored? And then there’s Sen. Clinton’s endorsement of Obama… (It will not be remembered as her finest hour, to say the least.) Pres. Clinton should expose the partisan role Brazile and Dean have played, and their apparent collusion with Karl Rove to get Republicans to vote for Obama in the primaries. Somebody has to be a stand-up Democrat and do the right thing. Otherwise Rove gets his ticket nominated in Sept. and it’s all over.

Here’s more on the fraud.

I see the Clintons in a delicate situation, because so far BO is doing himself in just fine, maybe not as fast as we would like, but he will “lose fair and square,” not because anyone hurt him but because of his lack of merit. Some people, however, still believe he has merit.
If the Clintons didn’t appear to support him they would forever be accused of sabotaging him and it would achieve mythic status. The only way out is for her to “win fair and square,” which we know she did, but the hardcore BO supporters have to be disenchanted on their own to accept it.

Comment by mary | 2008-08-05 20:41:34

good analysis, “bemused” Exactly how I would assess this ignominious coronation of Precious Obama (Lou Dobbs called him that back in March!).

Hillary is doing the right thing. She has no other honorable choice but to go on record supporting the Chicago political sewer rat! She is a Democrat and a true one–unlike Mr. Opportunism Himself.

The Chickens, or I should say the Pumas, will come home to roost in November! And Barack’s Britney Moment will be gone, thank god…

Now why doesn’t anyone investigate BHO’s support and active campaign for his Sharia Law islamist cousin Odinga in Kenya!? Obama was helping instal Sharia Law and he knew his slumlord cousin’s agenda.

Odinga is a billionaire slum landlord in Kenya…it’s all in the family. In Chicago he’s got Rezko…and in the fatherland he’s got Odinga!! What a supporting cast, eh?

The biggest fraud in history—NoBama

I beleive that is why she is ‘allegedly’ taking in funds for her 2012 run and has set up websites for that year.

I have a feeling that the if HC was able to come out on top at the convention that the party will be in a complete mess and, therefor, not able to run with a party mandate, unless, of course…

Something big happens where the whole party goes running for cover under the Clinton shelter.

wrt that interview… I found it interesting that Bill didn’t come out with overwhelming support of the Obamessiah.

Comment by AF catfish | 2008-08-05 13:53:53

It’s tipping that way. It has to come from Obama. We have to pressure him that stepping aside is doing the right thing. He said himself that it would be easy to lose your soul seeking this type of thing, and he was wary that would happen to him.

Do the right thing Obama, heal the divisions you have sewn, step aside and nominate Hillary as president. You are not ready for this job.

Comment by DoroB. | 2008-08-05 14:06:36

He did say that, but how do we know he meant it? It seemed to me that Obama lost his soul many times already.

Comment by lusitania | 2008-08-05 17:07:21

Why should he come out with overwhelming support of Obama? The Clintons have done enough for him already. What he said was supportive enough. Why can’t the press leave him alone. I found the interviewer bordering on disrespect.

This worries me, too. The last thing I want to happen is for a protest in Denver to hurt Hillary’s chances in 2012.

If this COLB thing turns out to bite us on the butt, what? I don’t think that fool Obambam could run a lemonade stand, let alone a country. But if this is another dead end black hole, it will really make a lot of people look, well… foolish.

Plus, what are we to make of Hillary not wanting her name to be put in the running at the convention? I’d hate to think so, but could a lot of noize in Denver actually work against her legacy?

Let’s try to be wise about this is all I’m saying.

Comment by VeritasUS | 2008-08-05 14:08:43

I’m with you there, BV.

I have to wonder if the Obamedia isn’t holding off on the Edwards affair/love child scandal so they can bash Bill & Hillary over the head with it if Obama were to go down for some reason like the COLB.

Think about it: Obama’s out and then all of the sudden we get to hear how the Edwards’ problems are like those of the Clintons and we get stuck with a nominee like Biden or (god forbid) Richardson.

Hopefully that kind of smear campaign would blow over by 2012!

Comment by Iphie | 2008-08-05 14:19:59

What? How can either of the Clintons be hurt by what John Edwards may or may not have done? There’s this common idea that any Democrat ever who has some sort extra-marital scandal is going to reflect badly on the Clintons. What is the connection, other than the one in your mind, that would lead you to believe that Bill Clinton has any responsibility for John Edwards whatsoever?

This is very similar to the argument that people made that somehow Eliot Spitzer was going to be the undoing of Hillary Clinton’s candidacy — it was a ridiculous argument then, and it is a ridiculous argument now. If you recall, the only people who paid any serious attention to some Clinton/Spitzer scandal link were Henny Penny, the-sky-is-falling people on the blogs. If the media tried to push it, it clearly did not catch on. People are smarter than that, really.

Comment by karen for Clinton | 2008-08-05 14:32:27

The Edwards scandal would not hurt Hillary at all.

Edwards was part of the pact with ob to take their names off the Michigan ballot. Edwards often spoke up for ob and had said on a TV interview he had chosen which candidate to endorse even before he had announced his support. The killer was the timing of the endorsement and the location. Michigan and as Hillary was winning another primary. And he encouraged his supporters to back ob as well and made deals with ob about his mailing list for his charity work. Hillary is Edwards free.

The media is owned by republicans. They have chosen ob because he is the weaker of the two. They know they can destroy him between August 27th and Nov 4th easily and that Mac will win.

The media in the last two elections were in the pocket of dubya and they also pushed Iraq on us.

Why people are still fooled by the media hype of ob is they are terribly convincing in their zeal and they sure do seem to be obots. We have all seen them turn on a dime and go from praise to bash overnight, yet we fall for it every 4 years.

They will destroy ob in their own sweet time, which is 10 seconds after the balloons drop in Denver.

If it is Hillary, the same will happen, only we know and the whole world knows about Bill and Monica and they couldn’t tie that old canoodle, which Bill paid for all these years, to this Edwards baby daddy story.

They wouldn’t substitute Biden or Richardson anyway.

That is out there totally.

If ob is toast before Denver, Hillary steps in.

Will she get his voters, what do the reps have to throw at her, what will the media say, is there enough time to campaign and set up offices and change all the plans from ob to hill, etc. is all immaterial. It would all have to work out the best it could. I could care less what the CDS nutroots do, but it would be amusing to watch them explode.

Comment by Clinton Fan | 2008-08-05 14:46:07

there’s a big difference between a blow job and having a love child, that he isn’t acknowledging.and Edwards isn’t really liked that much. His poor neighbors don’t derive any benefit from his being across the street in his huge mansion.

Comment by K. Wynne | 2008-08-05 14:37:30

BV in CO,

The protest in Denver will be a peaceful display of major citizen disapproval of being disenfranchised and ignored, and the outcry of anger that should be heard throughout the country by the core group of the democratic party — its women — in our total rebuke of the sexism and misogyny that ran amok throughout the primary against a brilliant, accomplished Senator and her female supporters, not to mention exercising of our First Amendment Rights, which are fast being taken away from us. This is what a democracy is supposed to be all about.

If we feel that dissent is a bad thing, then we no longer live in a democracy, but exist under tyranny. Dissent is the best tonic for what ails our country right now and a reminder of what it means to be an American citizen.

A public display of our support for Hillary will also counter the MSM’s spin that the dems have unified and we have all come home to support obama. We can never forget, much less give a free pass to all the lies and betrayal by the DNC, the MSM and the presumptutious nominee, himself. This must be confronted and in a public way!

More importantly, such a public display of disapproval and protest against how this primary was literally fixed by the DNC, with the compliance of the obama camp is necessary to preserve the truth of what went down in the 2008 democratic primary because I’m certain, without this documented proof, history will be rewritten to make certain the democratic primary of 2008 will be remembered as the historic race of the first AA, bringing with him “hope and change” and being the symbol of the traditions for which America stands! To let that lie prevail and worse, become a part of historic record, would be UNPATRIOTIC.

Comment by FranSC | 2008-08-07 00:37:15

Comment by C.S. | 2008-08-05 16:15:17

Seeking the truth should never make anyone feel foolish and there is more evidence that he faked his birth certificate than many prosecutors use to convict someone of a crime.

If you’ve ever sat on a jury, look at all the evidence accumulated by these researchers and make up your own mind based on how the judge instructed you. Having done scientific studies and analyzed data, I believe there is validity to this research even though many of the original documents are not available. The question is not if the research could be more valid if the documents were available but why are the documents not in the public domain if they are all in order. Senator Clinton’s were. Senator McCain’s were. And all the other candidates have long papertrails. Only Barack Obama does not have a papertrail of his own. Only Barack Obama has one that has been created by others for him.

Comment by Betty | 2008-08-05 21:38:57

BV, much as want Hillary to win the nomination, this isn’t about her or her legacy. The leaders of the Democratic Party plotted to control the outcome of the 2008 primaries, they thought it would be over quickly and we would never really know.
To further their plans they rigged the delegate allocation per vote, they selectively punished the democratic population of two huge states, they gave Obama votes he didn’t earn and they stole 4 delegates from Hillary and gave them to Obama (how many individual votes are represented in 4 delegates?). They allowed a candidate and the most successfull democratic president since FDR to be unjustly vilified and slandered by Obama and the MSM because it suited their needs. The list goes on and on.

The Democratic Party leaders who tried to do this need to be taught never try it again. We need to do what ever we need to do.

Taylor Marsh has a new commentary at Obamington Post that ridicules PUMA and Just Say No Deal. Only 6 comments and all pending. The Obama faction of the Democratic Party is, indeed, not very democratic.

Actually I don’t bother with TM or HP. I unsubscribed from HP in March. However, they still send emails when TM has a new post….I did that when she was the only strong HRC supporter on HP. However, the headline on this one made me particularly angry…so I checked it out at HP and TM’s site. I suppose she had to do this article…from the look of the comments, there were many people unhappy with her commentary. It is also very perplexing to me that the people who dismiss us and are BO supporters take every opportunity to bash Bill Clinton. I suppose they are too young to remember how good the economy was during his 2 terms. He and Hillary are truly wonderful people who have worked hard for everything they have accomplished. Unlike the one who wants to be King of the World.

Illegal Obama donors: Middle Eastern Arabs Aug 5, ‘08 2:51 PM
for everyone

By Aaron Klein
(poor starving Arabs being blockaded by the big bad Izraeelians miraculously are showered with thousands of dollars from Allah to give their Muslim brother Achmad Muhammad Ali Hussein Ibn Barak Obama)

JERUSALEM – Palestinian brothers inside the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip are listed in government election filings as having donated $29,521.54 to Sen. Barack Obama’s campaign. Donations of this nature would violate election laws, including prohibitions on receiving contributions from foreigners and guidelines against accepting more than $2,300 from one individual during a single election, Bob Biersack, a spokesman for the Federal Election Commission, told WND in response to a query. The contributions also raise numerous questions about the Obama campaign’s lax online donation form, which apparently allows for the possibility of foreign contributions. Last week, the Atlas Shrugs blog outlined a series of donations in 2007 made to Obama’s campaign from two individuals, Monir Edwan and Hosam Edwan, totaling $29,521.54. In an online form on Obama’s campaign site, the Edwans listed their street as “Tal Esaltan,” which they wrote was located in “Rafah, GA.” Rafah is not a city in Georgia. The Atlas blog immediately raised concerns that the money may have been donated from the Gaza Strip town of Rafah. The Edwans’ donations are listed in both FEC filings and other election filing sites, such as CampaignMoney and donordata.org. Monir made 20 donations ranging from $717 to $2017.50 from October through November 2007. His donations totaled $24321.41. Hosam made seven donations ranging from $508.63 to $1725.96, totaling $5,200.13, all in October 2007.A WND investigation tracked down the Edwans, who are brothers living in the Tal Esaltan neighborhood of Rafah, a large refugee camp in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip. The Edwans are a large clan that include top Hamas supporters. Speaking to WND, the two brothers praised Obama and admitted giving the money online to his campaign. They said they are not U.S. citizens or green card holders but are citizens of “Palestine.” The Edwans denied they are affiliated with Hamas. Palestinian sources in Gaza confirmed the Edwans in question are secular, but could not say whether they supported Hamas. Monir and Hasam Edwan denied their financial transactions online – listed as donations in U.S. government election filings – were actual donations to Obama’s campaign. Instead they claimed they purchased about $30,000 in Obama T-shirts from the presidential candidate’s online store – a contention that did not hold up during a WND interview, when they changed their story several times. “My brother Hosam and I knew that Obama will be a big hit even before he became a candidate. We knew the guy would be a celebrity in Gaza so we decided to invest the amount of $29,000 to buy Obama T-shirts from his website and sell them in Gaza,” Monir Edwan told WND, speaking by cell phone from Gaza. “I know on the back of this story Obama rivals will present our business as a donation and they will try to use this story to let Obama fall, but I’m telling you, we bought T-shirts,” Edwan maintained. Edwan said any profit made from purportedly selling the Obama T-shirts was not returned to the Obama campaign. “We have nothing to do with the Obama campaign. We just like Obama and believe he will be the best for the Palestinians and for the world.” At first Monir Edwan claimed he sold the T-shirts in Gaza for around $9 and that a profit was made. “Some young men even bought the T-shirts for 60 shekel ($17.29), which is a lot to spend in Gaza on a T-shirt, but that is how much Gazans like Obama,” Edwan claimed. But it was pointed out to Edwan the T-shirts for sale on Obama’s website are listed as $20.08 and that selling the merchandise for less would not yield a profit. “Maybe we sold the shirts for a lot more. I can’t remember now,” said Edwan. Asked why he would purchase T-shirts at such a high rate and pay the cost of shipping when he could pay a company to produce T-shirts for less, Edwan replied, “We wanted the shirts to come from the campaign.” But Edwan could not explain how he managed to get shipments of T-shirts into the Gaza Strip during the months he claimed to have purchased the merchandise, since Israel imposed a tight closure of the Gaza Strip starting in June 2007 that lasted until June 2008, when the Israeli government agreed to a cease-fire with Hamas in Gaza. “We don’t want to cause any damage to Obama’s campaign,” was Edwan’s reply. Edwan said he wants Obama to be president. “Not just the people in Gaza but people from all over the world are rooting for this great man,” he told WND. FEC spokesman Biersack told WND contributions from overseas are allowed if the donations are coming from U.S. citizens or green card carriers. But he said accepting money from foreigners would violate election provisions. He said there are strict guidelines against accepting more than $2,300 from one individual during a single election. “I am not familiar with the particulars of the case, so I am commenting in general. The FEC will have to examine all the circumstances before determining any wrongdoing,” Biersack clarified. Obama’s campaign did not return WND phone calls or e-mail queries. That the Edwans were able to contribute any money to Obama’s campaign from Gaza opens questions into the methods used by the presidential candidate’s website to accept online donations. The website donation form asks each donor to affirm he or she is a U.S. citizen and is above the age of 16 but doesn’t require donors to prove their citizenship status, such as providing a social security number. The form further requires the donor to affirm the contribution is not coming from a corporation, political action committee or lobby group.

And they’re not bad rockets, either, for short range ones, considering they’re made out of soup cans and assorted scrap materials.

This guy wants us to believe that there’s not one Engineering/Artistic Genius in Gaza capable of designing and silkscreening a jazzy knockoff of an OBAMA tee-shirt?

PLEASE. The images are available all over the internet–it’s a simple matter at this stage.

And if you’re not going to knock one off, there’s always cafepress–why go to the campaign? After all, THEY go to cafepress half the time.

Until about two days ago I rolled my eyes at the birth certificate stuff. But if it really is his sister’s birth cert, we have something major.

And given the profiles of Narcissistic personalities, one common characteristic is they feel above the law, above the rules, entitled to not be held to the same rules everybody else is.

The trick now is to make this a mainstream topic of conversation.

Comment by Thinker | 2008-08-05 13:39:49

My new strategy is to post this information on various political messageboards, and hope that more people get exposed to this information during the 5 minutes that it’s up, because sites like CNN have a habit of deleting information that goes against the Obama fairytale.
I have also emailed all the major news organizations, including BBC, and I encourage others to do the same.

Comment by AF catfish | 2008-08-05 13:58:33

Maybe we could do a head-fake on this. Like bring up John McCain’s birth cert. Then bring up Barack Obama’s. Then make the case that Arnold Schwarzenegger could be veep because nobody takes that stuff seriously anymore, that could provoke reaction.

I mean, who is the the bureaucrat that asks for a driver’s license and birth cert when you run for president? Let’s track that person down.

We could talk about McCain’s birth cert, then casually bring up Obama. I’ve also wondered about Maria Shriver and Arnold myself. She’s out there, campaigning for Obama, and now that he might not even qualify, and considered the fact that many say that her very un-qualified husband wants to run for President, well, it makes you wonder.

Throw in Obama supporter Mccaskil pushing through legislation to make sure that McCain is declared eligible to run?

Nothing in politics is a coincidence, and which is why this forged colb has a ring of truth to it.

Look at this Slate explainer article Explainer: What papers do you need to file to run for president? It’s all about financial stuff with the FEC. Nobody checks birth certificate!

A lot. The bureaucratic campaign begins when a candidate first gets together an exploratory committee. In general, candidates register their committees as not-for-profit corporations. Giuliani’s filing in New York describes his corporation as one that will “conduct federal ‘testing-the-waters’ activities under the Federal Election Campaign Act.” (Click for a PDF.) In many cases, these activities don’t amount to very much beyond polling, traveling, and making phone calls, until the exploratory committee gives way to a “campaign committee” later on.

Once the committee decides the waters are warm, it’s time to file a Statement of Candidacy. This includes the candidate’s name and address, the name and address of his or her principal campaign committee, and little else. Technically, you don’t need to fill out the paperwork until you’ve raised or spent $5,000 on your campaign; after that, you have 15 days to send the form to the FEC and the opposing candidates. A candidate gets another 10 days to fill out a Statement of Organization, which registers his or her principal campaign committee with the FEC. The document designates a treasurer and a custodian of records to oversee money in and money out.

This is interesting. I can see a movement in senate right before the election, to require that a presidential nominee be required to file a birth certificate and them creating a specific department to verify its validity.

Maybe that’s because it’s been assumed no one seeking the hardest job in the world would have such little character as to lie about his/her citizenship..at least the founding fathers had better foresight.

I think that’s because no one has run for president whose life isn’t an open book. By the time they get to that point of declaring themselves a candidate for president, they have usually been thoroughly checked out. Those running for Congress usually were born and raised in the district they run for or have lived in the district for a long time.

When Elizabeth Dole ran for the Senate in her home state there was quite a controversy over whether she was qualified or not because she had not lived in the state for more than 30 years; however, she took care of that problem by moving in with her mother (and leaving her husband Bob in his home state of Kansas I presume) but there was no question about her birthplace.

Same with Hillary Clinton when she moved to New York before her husband left the White House. Republicans complained that she wasn’t a “native” to New York even though by the time she ran for the Senate she met the eligibility requirement - but there was no question that she met the eligibility requirements because everyone knew her biography.

Only Obama seems to have been elected to the Illinois Senate without having his credentials verified but then he was vouched for by the “movers and shakers” like Ayers and Rezko and when he ran for the U.S. Senate it was assumed that if he was an Illinois Senator he must have already been vetted and vouched for. It was an error that kept being compounded until someone finally asked the right question. Obviously, like a tax loophole, now we’ve discovered it, we need to fix it even if it requires a Constitutional Amendment, which it probably will.

The Governator has made it very clear he wants to run for president. When he campaigned for Bush in Ohio in 2004, the Bushies were supposed to push through a constitutional amendment allowing Arnold to run for president. Of course that was when Arnold was still popular, quite a while ago.

Comment by workingclass artist | 2008-08-05 19:00:52

That has been a wetdream of fringe republicans since the days of Kissenger….lol…and the other Republicans prevented that….

Maybe ask Obama campaign to comment on it first.

Comment by robert | 2008-08-05 14:50:33

That would be the Attorney General, Michael B. Mukasey.

Comment by roseeriter | 2008-08-05 15:12:47

The Constitution has the requirements about birth/citizenship for President.

Comment by AF catfish | 2008-08-05 15:16:03

But nobody ever verifies it. Each state does it their own way, but I’m in the process of checking and they check for signatures and also media buzz. California says if other states have put you on their ballots, then they’re likely to put you on California’s.

No one bureaucrat checks birth certificate. In fact, I can’t find any bureaucrats that check this. They just assume you were born here.

Just had a thought….BO was supposedly a “professor” of Constitutional Law at the U. of Chicago for 10 years. It would be my guess that he would know the qualifications for the office which he seeks….no more said!!

Look at this - there IS NO bureaucrat that checks birth certificate!

Here is Massachusetts:

There are three ways for the names of presidential candidates to be placed on the presidential primary ballot:

* Candidates may file nomination papers with at least 2500 certified signatures. For primary ballot placement, signatures of at least 2,500 voters must be certified by local election officials and subsequently filed with the Secretary of the Commonwealth.*

* The Secretary of the Commonwealth may place candidates on the ballot who have been generally advocated or recognized in the national news media.

* The chairperson of each party’s state committee may designate names to be listed.

We should challenge barky’s petition and have the signatures thrown off!

yup, the republicans will bring up whether obama is actually qualified under the constitution. the campaign will no doubt call it racist as usual. yawn!

Comment by pew | 2008-08-05 14:12:16

Well if anyone can get information on Obama would be GWB himself. I’m sure Bush has all the information needed to bring Obama Down imo… I think this thing will help the republicans,if this issue of the BC is not cleared before than.. The material on this site, doesn’t seem to go to far.

Comment by Thinker | 2008-08-05 13:36:29

I watched that video and that comment stood out as well.

If Barack is qualified under the Constitution, prove it.

It’s as simple as that. McCain had to do it, so Obama should have to prove it as well.

And while we are at it, let’s see Backtrack medical records as well. Maybe a urine sample while we are at it, lol I have noticed this crackhead physique he’s been wearing lately..

Has the Democratic Party become the haven of Black Liberation Theologists or the Party of Black Liberation Theology?!

Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean announced his appointment of Leah D. Daughtry to serve as Chief Executive Officer of the 2008 Democratic National Convention Committee

Leah was delivering the sermon… Below the sanctuary, in the fellowship hall, a banner for slavery reparations proclaimed, “They Owe Us.”

The Black Liberation Theology doctrine and its Black Liberation Theologists have certainly gained power in the Democratic Party. Senator Obama spent twenty-years involved in it, and has recently tried to distance himself from it; however, it is obviously a part of the Democratic Party’s agenda

Comment by Thinker | 2008-08-05 13:43:53

I don’t know about that.

But back to the theme of this thread,

Is Barack Obama qualified under the Constitution to be the President of the United States of America??

Comment by tzada | 2008-08-05 13:46:55

Indeed it appears that way, and America is becoming an Arab state.

Hillary is 44

Comment by Darryl | 2008-08-05 15:03:49

I believe so, but it is self defeating, because the republicans will absorb the left over democrats, just like you see happening now. In the end, most americans will go to the republican side and the republicans will pick up some of the moderate democratic issues.

This is so dumb on the part of the DNC. All they would have to do is pick up a history book to see that movements like these end up only benefiting the other party. Its called a split. Right now we in essense have three parties. Democrats as you describe above. A HUGE independent base made up of moderate republicans and democrats, and die hard republicans. One party will pick up the majority of independents, and the democrats have left the door WIDE open for the republicans. So stupid SOOOO stupid.

Comment by AnnieO | 2008-08-05 13:42:04

I love when he says, “You could argue that no one is ever ready to be President.”

What I got from Bill is that he thinks BO is a slick campaigner, but not presidential material.

I can’t wait to hear what he has to say in January! I think he’s only holding back for Hillary’s sake.

Back to the main theme of this thread:

I wonder if Backtrack is qualified to run and I wonder if Bill knows, and that’s where his little comment came from?

Comment by No to O | 2008-08-05 13:52:49

Will we have to decipher what she says in tongues? Snark, yes but why this woman? The convention smacks of circus atmosphere.

Comment by Vonay | 2008-08-05 14:03:03

Because Obamabi believes in the black liberation theology…and Howard Dean has to do what Obambi tells him to do.

They had a longer, more detailed version of this same interview on Nightline last night.

Bill said more during that interview than is included in this interview.

You should see if there is a youtube version of that interview out there on the tubes somewhere.

Comment by Andy | 2008-08-05 13:52:55

Yes, I saw that last night. It was much longer.

He said that Kate Snow had to understand that he didn’t talk now about what happened in the primaries because “it would hurt Obama” and that now thy had to focus on November. He also said about then that
“Obama can win…..he will win in November”

I wish someone could get the clip of the Nightline portion … I haven’t been able to find it yet.

Comment by AF catfish | 2008-08-05 14:00:35

That’s huge. He’s saying the truth would hurt Obama. He is sly that Bubba.
