Democrats Praising McCain

John McCain is a maverick. Just ask Democrats.

Daschle says McCain has always worked with Democrats on issues.
Biden calls McCain a friend.
Kerry admires him. Calls him patriotic
Dean modeled his run for the presidency after McCain.
Feingold says he is a great guy!
Obama likes the Lieberman/McCain bill.

And finally Hillary has her say:

Hillary says, I know Senator McCain has a lifetime of experience he will bring to the White House and Senator Obama has a speech he gave in 2002.

You know they already mounted a counter ad from DNC, I think, against McCain. Kerry saying he has changed and such.

Comment by Obama is a bum | 2008-08-07 22:36:37

What else can they do? Talk about Obama changing everyday?

Now the doctor came in stinking of gin
And proceeded to lie on the table
He said Rocky BO, you met your match
And Rocky BO said, Doc Dean it’s only a scratch
And I’ll be better I’ll be better doc as soon as I am able.

Kerry flip-flopping about McCain! Who would have guessed?

Was Kerry for him before he was against him?!

If Dems are stuck counting on that loser again - geez -

maybe Bush was better than enduring years of wooden bloviating Kerry.

I gave thousands of dollars to Kerry and I get a Lt. Dreyfus tick from him now.

Worse yet, picture Oblowme “America sucks” in Carter’s sweater checking your tires for four years.

Sure Bush is an idiot, but he’s a happy idiot.

Help!!

Just think. If Obama loses he will be loved even less than all of us now love John Kerry. There’s nothing like losing a can’t lose election to sour the party faithful. Ask Thomas Dewey.

If you want Hillary to be President in ‘12, Obama can not win in ‘08.

Comment by pat | 2008-08-09 21:15:56

Michele hates America!

But please don’t ever say Bush is better than Kerry as President! There’s 4 million refugees in Iraq, most of them signle moms and over a million now in the Sex Trade in Syria to support their families at the mercy of the fat Arab sexist pigs there! Meantime, trillion dollars in debt, the country’s biggest donor is CHINA! And nothing gets made here.

Hillary was the best candidate. And Barry Soeroto Hussein Obamarama STOLE the election from AA Sen. Alice Palmer and now he STOLE the nomination from the clueless DNC–wait till the ceiling full of holes comes on their heads in November!

But a counter ad just means that McCain still has them on the defensive.

I’m proud of John - he’s a old trooper and he’s going right at Obama. Obama seems off balance now and John is keeping him busy playing defense.

Comment by we are the ones who kept us waiting (or something) | 2008-08-07 23:20:40

McCain drew first blood. His campaign stopped the bogus racism charge in its tracks. As another poster noted, McCain’s “Celebrity” ad is defining his opponent. All of George Soros’ money could not buy a clue as to how to run the rank amateur Obama’s campaign.

Comment by mary | 2008-08-09 21:22:07

We’re the Ones….

Obamarama’s Axelrod of Evil sure had a big clue how to get the misogynist media frat-boys push the xeroxed Precious O (for Zero) to a fraudulent ‘finish’ line, didn’t they?

But like you said ‘McCain drew blood first! Very therapeutic! If only Bill Clinton had done the same. But he couldn’t as he didn’t want to be seen as harming his wife’s campaign. Damned if you do and damned if you don’t back then….Now it’s a different ball game and the Precious One can’t hack it!!

We just have to sit tight for 4 years. McCain won’t destroy the country. He’s always respected Clinton. Good enough for now! And his wife adopted a balck girl form Bangladesh and that moron Bush passed hte lie about Cindy (who’s got a big heart and is a real American girl) ….I think Obama and Azelord are closer to BUSH-LITE than anything….

Comment by Clinton Fan | 2008-08-08 00:19:53

That won’t help.

Kerry already has that flipflopper label. People will simply point, laugh and say “There he goes again.”

The guy sure knows how to make a bad situation worse. If I were advising my soon-to-be former party members, I’d say “Just let it slide.” When you respond to what is plainly, by and large, Senatorial “oblige” with all the usual polite and fulsome language, you make a big deal out of a molehill.

The fact is, people may not always agree with McCain, but there’s no question that he will NOT bullshit you.

Unlike his presumtuous and presumptive opponent.

Comment by 935 Lies | 2008-08-08 01:46:21

Kerry could f**k up a ball bearing. If he has any credibility, it’s because his Credibility is just taping his record collection before splitting.

As Jeremiah Wright would say…no, no, No, NO, NO!!!

McCain should not TOUCH that as an ad.

A 527, with NO COORDINATION from him, as mandated, should run that ad.

It gives him distance and a bit of plausible deniability. It also preserves his humility.

The reason McCain continues to do well is because he’s not acting like he’s simply standing around waiting for the coronation to begin. He’s behaving like a “regular guy.”

That shit matters to people. Along with judgment, experience, intelligence, a lack of overblown hubris…that kind of stuff.

Obama cannot even answer a semi-difficult question, does anyone think Obama could last a week being tortured as a POW? Does anyone think Obama would ever put others in front of him like McCain did when he had an opportunity to be released?

So, it’s perfectly OK to pull old comments out of the video archives and string them together like they’re today’s news? To use friendly, supportive comments from another time and place to misrepresent the current opinions and positions of the very friends who made them?

Sorry. This is surely a betrayal of some sort. I’m just not sure whether to think of it as a betrayal of trust or a betrayal of friendship. Whichever way you go, the McCain people have lowered their standards yet again.

What are they counting on? That Obama won’t finally decide he’s had enough and go after McCain the same way?

There’s enough foolish McCain behavior available on video lately to make him look like a complete idiot. McCain tottering around like he’s forgotten where the bathroom is at the retirement home. McCain stammering and yammering at Sturgis, trying to get out something about “four dollar a buck gasoline”, then suggesting his wife should be entered in a Sturgis event that makes a wet tee-shirt contest seem like PG rated entertainment. McCain’s top-ten senior moments. McCain’s Good Morning America geography lesson. I mean, the material is there. The Obama campaign has just had too much class to use it. But the McCain people keep going at Obama, and just keep lowering the standard…

They’re going to regret it.

Statements like that are what have cost Hill any real respect in democratic circles. Hill trashed Obama when she had very little chance of gaining the nomination. I hope McCain does run the ads and Obama wins anyway. That way the Hill will be finished for sure. She was a poor candidate who couldn’t beat a novice like Obama despite the early edge in money and prestige.

Comment by Slobodaneee | 2008-08-08 09:22:15

Sam,

I’m not too worried about offending Hill supporters. This is free society and a free thinking blog. Life is boring if everyone agrees with you. Further, most on this blog hate Obama so much that even if I was very humble and respectful towards Hill, they would still not only dislike Obama but describe him in the worst way and spread the kind of nonsense that they and I felt repubs spread about the Clintons when Bill was in office.

Comment by WildChild | 2008-08-07 23:39:02

tsk tsk tsk, you’re making a big mistake counting the Clinton’s down… or out

Comment by catherine | 2008-08-07 23:44:24

I beg to differ- Hillary won the popular vote, the electoral vote, and major states in this nation. There is substantial evidence that many of the states with caucuses that Obama won were largely corrupt where Hillary supporters were intimidated. There is ample evidence to prove this. In addition, corrupt practices and back room decisions allowed Michigan and Florida to be discounted. So I would be careful before I acted high and mighty on criticizing Hillary over a novice candidate from the Chicago political system who is a puppet for corporate America.

Comment by Carolyn Mann | 2008-08-08 00:21:06

Watch the “Audacity of Democracy” trailer on YouTube and you’ll see that what cost Hill the nomination was election fraud by the Obama campaign and a deck stacked against Hillary by the DNC. And frankly, what’s going to cost Obama the election in November is the fact that he’s surrounded himself with rude, sychophantic twits that have turned off the Democratic base.

Everyone knows that Hillary was - IS - the far superior Democratic canididate.

She was shoved and cheated out of the race by a bunch of jealous, power-hungry, corrupt, elitist Democratic pigs who decided to put their grossly underqualified, flip-flopping, attention-whoring candidate in the spot against the will of the majority of the Democratic voters.

And they’re about to pay through the ass for their bad judgment in November.

Great response, elise, and great examples. Doesn’t it strike you as peculiar, though, that the candidate who is supposed to be the most liberal and progressive is the one to drag out all the “isms” to employ against his opponents — sexism, racism, and now agism. Yeh, that’s a very classy campaign.

None of these trolls realize that the McCain camp is six steps ahead of Senator Newb.

McCain endured the worst the Bush camp threw at him in the 2000 primary. Live and learn.

Yeah. Even some democrats spoke out for him. As one of his ads recently reminded me. And now look.

It’s actually kind of sad.

Don’t be sad, ziggy. It will make you old before your time.

Ziggy is old enough to remember the days when Eisenhower and Winston Churchill walked the earth. Ziggy is young way past his time. And he still stays up too late.

ziggy,
If this is true, then your years on earth should make you wise enough to NOT support an empty suit like Obama.

Then you and ziggy probably have a lot to talk about when the lights go out. That is, if they haven’t already.

What is Obama going to do, accuse McCain of not checking his tires for two weeks? You need to send the McCain campaign $25 to get an official tire gauge — at least they are accurate unlike any of the rubbish that fraud Obama peddles.

hey, Obama doing negative adds is fine. It just betrays his empty promise of “new politics”. Besides, he is a cream puff, he won’t hit back hard. You know why? Obama has too much to hide.

Okay, fine. SATISFIED?

Well, I’m glad you told me that, Ziggy. Image, eh?

Damn. And I thought it was about substance!
