And; therefore, people should understand words have meaning and “If you are a whacko like this TN person, maybe you think you may be doing the country a “favor” by taking out” this “uppity woman” whose delegates plan to ruin Obama’s Democratic convention by daring to place her name in nomination?

Well, where’s the protection for Senator Clinton; there’s enough rabble threatening her on these very blogs witnessed by hundreds of us. Your closing statement is just too weak to convince us that you care equally about the safety of both candidates.

I’ve got news for Obama, Senator Clinton didn’t steal 18 million votes from “those people” and every one of them put her in the powerful position she’s in today. And unlike Obama disciples who would vote for the Devil if Obama asked them to, Senator Clinton’s voters would not. IF she doesn’t continue to stand by the issues she so eloquently assured “those people” she supported then they will take their votes to someone who will.

She is their hope for change, Obama is seen as a threat to that hope - just another politician who will say, do and use anyone and anything to acquire power.

Many of “those people” belong to the same generation of babyboomers that Barack Obama belongs to and grew up with parents of that “Greatest Generation” and an ideology that “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country”.

And even though his mother chose a path that took her, and him, away from this country during the turmoil of the 60s and 70s, he should know that living in a mad world of nuclear threat and cold wars which flared into a hot one that took the lives of almost 60,000 of “those people’s” relatives and friends made them not just resilient but determined.

But maybe not. Being raised in a foreign culture far from the Civil Rights struggle and the assassinations that shaped our lives may have made him an outsider to that history. But if he can’t empathise or doesn’t know this history, then it’s past time for him to learn that this country was not shaped in the image of the Chicago politics and unrepentant bombers like Ayers that he consciously decided to embrace while keeping “those people” ostracized.

Under the Bush rules, (which are still in force) not only would these guys be in Gitmo but Obama would be (if not taken into custody because “didn’t know” isn’t a viable excuse in this post 9/11 world) forced to resign from the Senate in disgrace! Ah, well, such is life in a country run by double standards. If the government and the media won’t reconnoiter Obama and his campaign the I guess it’s up to us country loving, patriotic displaying People to do the job for them. Citizen Journalists, Ben Franklin and Thomas Paine would be very proud of you.

You make me so proud to be an American I can’t tell you. Today, it made me cry.

All of us in this big melting pot we call home here are being Americans. We will always stand up for what is right, even in the face of corruption that boggles the mind.

You make me proud that I was born here, in CA at the very tail end of the Baby Boom. I see in all of you how fine the citizens of our nation are, and if I had a way of hugging you I’d do it!
