A Third Palestinian Brother and the FEC Says “Hi” To Barack Obama

The The Real Barack Obama has a hot follow-up story I just couldn’t resist stealing.

Last week we saw where Monir and Hosam Edwan, two brothers from a Hamas Compound, who claimed to be lving in the non-existent town of “Rafah, Georgia,” contributed between $24,000 and $33,500 ( moving-target sum) to the Obama campaign.

Initially, the two jihadists brothers claimed that they bought T-Shirts from Obama’s website.

Then the Obama campaign claimed they returned the money to the Edwan brothers and forgot to report it to the FEC due to a technicality.

Then the Hamas-Sycophants Edwan brothers declared that they never received any refund from the Obama campaign at all.

As skunky as that all sounded, there is yet more.

It seems there is a third brother, Osama Edwan, who contributed to Obama’s campaign as well. He also disclosed that he is from the non-existent town of “Rafah, Georgia”.

Click here to see brother Osama Edwan’s donation to Barack Obama. Hamas sure is busy helping to make sure their Wink-Wink endorsement of Barack Obama sticks.

There’s still more to this story. I would say that the FEC wasn’t asleep over the donations of Monir and Hosam Edwan. So I don’t imagine an inquiry into Osama Edwan can be far behind. No doubt the Obama campaign will say they ‘refunded’ the contributions but “forgot” to report the entire affair to the FEC due to a “glitch”. After all, that’s what they claimed happened with Monir and Hosam Edwan’s contributions.

That Obama “technical glitch” sure seems to be an ongoing problem. It appears that the “technical glitch” the Obama campaign claims kept them from reporting that they “refunded” these illegal donations to the FEC occurred not once, but twice. The campaign didn’t report the “refunds” in their end of year report. But they also had a second formal oppotunity to correct their “glitch” via a response to a direct FEC inquiry–and they failed to do so.

Today, the Obama Report writes that Pamela Geller, who provides copies of the documents at Atlas Shrugs, discovered that

“… the FEC had sent two letters to the Obama campaign seeking additional information regarding contributions it received that appeared to exceed the $2300 legal limit.

Among those questionable contributions, were donations from Monir and Hosam Edwan. The Obama campaign responded to the first letter in May 2008, but apparently the FEC was not satisfied with its response and sent out a second letter to the Obama campaign on July 30,2008 requesting additional information for sixteen pages of questionable contributions, including several of Monir Edwan’s contributions.

So apparently, the Obama campaign failed to tell the FEC about the refunded money both in its original FEC report and in its response to the FEC’s letter in May of 2008 (5 months after they allegedly returned the money). Otherwise, the FEC would have had no reason to further question them about these donations in its follow up letter (in July) - which makes the Obama campaign’s claim - that it returned their donations in December - all the more difficult to swallow.”

You can see the two FEC letters to the Obama campaign here and here. You certainly won’t get to see them on MSNBC or CNN.

So what about these contributions, Barky? I mean they are illegal and you know it. So if you “refunded” this money, how come you didn’t say so in writing to the FEC. Just asking. We’re also looking forward to reading your August 29th deadline response to the second FEC inquiry. I mean, when two terrorist sympathizers in Palestine start to look more honest that you look, it doesn’t bode well for a man who wants to be the President of the United States. You know what they say about three strikes, right?

I also suspect that the next question the FEC will ask is where exactly on the Georgia USA map is “Rafah”. But hey, I could be wrong.

Gaza is one of the poorest places on earth. This money can only come from Hamas, which of course is Iranian money.

Comment by ScottVA | 2008-08-11 22:39:10

You said it! There is no way any average Palestinian would have that kind of money to throw away on some foreign political entity…. that money was coming from someplace funneled through those guys!

Comment by Joe | 2008-08-11 22:40:44

I’ll bet the McCain campaign can make another entertaining ad about this.

Comment by debbie | 2008-08-11 22:49:31

Well, except they have huge problems with weird campaign contributions.

Harry Sargeant III, a former naval officer and the owner of an oil-trading company that recently inked defense contracts potentially worth more than $1 billion, is the archetype of a modern presidential money man. The law forbids high-level supporters from writing huge checks, but with help from friends in the Middle East and the former chief of the CIA’s bin Laden unit — who now serves as a consultant to his company — Sargeant has raised more than $100,000 for three presidential candidates from a collection of ordinary people, several of whom professed little interest in the outcome of the election.

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-08-12 05:30:10

I can’t believe debbie would cut and paste this, either. The McCain campaign looked at this bundled %50,000, knows the family - the Abdullahs - and said something didn’t look right. They weren’t voting for McCain, so they followed the money, and it led to Jordan. All $50,000 has been returned. No problems there.

Thanks for playing along, debbie!

So, whoever gave it to them, the question to ask is why does anyone (government or rich people) in the middle east choose Barack Obama from our three candidates to care enough about him being elected to actually set up an illegal scheme just to contribute to his campaign.

He has no policies for the middle east other than the one I read several flips back at the beginning of his primary campaign where he said he wanted to get the troops out of Iraq and expand into other “places” in the middle east which most of us took to mean Iran and possibly Syria. He isn’t supposed to be “one of them” but identifies himself only with the African American community - although his church identifies with the Nation of Islam more than the black Christian community. But is that reason enough to galvanize Hamas or Palestinians to contribute money to the cause.

Spookier and spookier. What’s in it for Palestinians? What’s in it for Hamas? For Terrorists who may have supplied the money they donated? What do they know or suspect about Obama that we don’t? Do they think his lack of leadership skills will make us a pushover for another 9/11 attack? Or is it more sinister than that?

Comment by susan | 2008-08-12 17:39:58

Let’s hope that in addition to the FEC, the FBI and the CIA are also investigating Barack Obama, as they are his “friends” Antoin Rezko, Aiham Alsammarae and Nadhmi Auchi. Is it just coincidence that so many of Obama’s BFFs are Palestinian???

Amazingly, Obambi’s ad reinforces his “Shallow Celebrity” persona, and reinforces McCain’s claim to experience, and going against his won party.

McCain says (in 2003) in Obambi’s ad that he disagrees with his party’s president 10% of the time.

In that 10% McCain fought with Bush and Cheney and Rumfeld over taxes, and Iraq strategy. Not small issues.

Obambi votes in lockstep with liberal Dems 100% of the time.

Yes, who is the Maverick?

Even the Obambi ads tell us who.

Obambi = same old Maypo in the Morning. Weak, bland and tasteless.

the Hamas candidate’s lead has inched up a teeny tiny amount in some national polls. But dig deep into the polls and the movement is toward McCain.

Ind. voters are swinging back to McCain. Besides polls before conventions are almost always useless.

But I am baffled at how these polls can be close. It’s hard to fathom that BHO can’t get a ahead of steam up. All Mccain has to do is keep it close until the DNC signs the contract with the devil in Denver.

I loath Obama - but I try to be clear headed when i look at the landscape. It is amazing that ANY Democrat could easily defeat McCain this year - except one - BHO (and now, edwards) Hillary would have a 12 point lead about now. Biden 8…Gravel 3….

I also hope McCain runs it a lot. Since he ran that celeb ad, Obama’s lead has grown.

Today’s Gallup poll: Obama 47/McCain 42. Five points is not setting the world on fire. In fact, Obama has never even cracked 50% since Hillary gave up the race and all of her supporters were supposed to “get over it” and “fall in line”. None of the polls show a clear winner. They’re an indicator of a country deeply divided. This shouldn’t be happening in the year that Democrats couldn’t lose.
Never mind saying it. I already know your response. Half the country are racists.

Comment by heather | 2008-08-12 11:19:15

And you know, right, that these polls are not random? They are slanted to include more democrats than republicans … justified on the basis of a claim that there ARE more democrats than republicans.

Where they get their exact proportions is entirely unclear, but basically what they are doing is cheating. A random sample if performed correctly would pick up more democrats than republicans and so they should not be throwing out any respondents. But, they are.

I actually learned this on the agent-orange (toxic, alright) site, where someone was complaining about a polling organization that didn’t do that, and (voila!) found McCain ahead by 4 points.

Anyone know more about this? I’d like to look into it but not enough free time right now.

Comment by jrterrier | 2008-08-12 15:07:52

as far as i know, all poll results are weighted in that way. that’s why you often get such different results from different organizations. the polling org that weighs it correctly, wins. they do a random poll and when the person tells them whether they are a DEM or REP they then add or subtract to make the sampling even with the % of each party they think will vote or is an accurate representation of the electorate in any given state/town/national sample.
