A Sign That The DNC and “The One” are Channeling Stalin

It seems that a Democratic delegate committed a cardinal sin against The State.

She criticized The One.

Sacha Millstone acknowledged she was frustrated over how the Obama campaign was treating delegates who supported Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and told a fellow delegate, in what she believed was a private e-mail exchange, that she was not sure she could vote for Obama at the Democratic National Convention later this month.”

In true Orwellian fashion, the delegate she emailed did his or her “job” and reported the dissenting email to The Comrades. The General of the Colorado Democratic Party, William Compton, also did his job as well, and sent her a loving “Democratic” Party letter.

“You are hereby directed to come in to the party Headquarters and explain your comments and why you should remain a national delegate to the 2008 Democratic National Convention in light of these comments,” the letter said.

No kidding. Somebody actually wrote that down right here in the Former United States of America. As I often say, you can’t make this shit up. Hereby! Notwithstanding! Heretofore! WHEREtofore!

The furious Ms. Millstone, a former campaign worker for (gasp!) Hillary Clinton, rightfully saw the e-mail as a threat and hired an attorney to protect her.

“Isn’t there a right to free speech? Isn’t this right in line with our time-honored tradition with the Dems?” she said. “These intimidation tactics have a chilling effect on people feeling comfortable speaking up.”

Mr. Compton’s further remarks indicated that this was really a simple matter, no big deal, standard operational procedure, and much ado about nothing, really. Just a resignation for uttering a sound about The One that wasn’t in keeping with Groupthink. This kind of thing is very displeasing to The One and his Hood Ornament, Howard Dean.

“We wanted to explore with Ms. Millstone the possibility of her voluntarily resigning her position,” Compton said. “I simply wanted to discuss the matter with her.”

These damned bitches! When will they ever learn their place! Would it be safe to say that the translation of the above remark is: Resign or we will help you out the door?

Compton’s Lieutenant, Denver Democratic Party Chair Pat Waak also weighed in on this small non-event — known in Corporate America as “circling the wagons” — as if this kind of thing was as natural and democratic as could be. No big deal really.

“Anytime we receive a complaint, we are required by our rules to hear that complaint and decide whether or not it should be taken to the rules committee,” said Pat Waak, chair of the Colorado Democratic Party.

[Millstone's attorney]Ferrugia asked Waak, “If someone brings you private correspondence, you’ll use that in investigating a complaint?”

Waak responded, “We have used documents, memos, other things in the past where complaints have been filed. We have used whatever comes to us. That does not mean it goes to the rules committee.”

Waak said the investigation and e-mail from Compton was not made public by the Colorado Democratic Party and regrets that it is in the public domain.

Way to go, Lieutenant! This stuff needs to be kept quiet, otherwise party intimidation just doesn’t work as well. It tends to, you know, horrify the public. Glad you thought better of that remark further on, I am relieved. But you might pay for this next little attack of guilt:

She also said, “I do think there are some delegates, on both sides, with some wounded feelings because this has been a very difficult, hard fought campaign.”

With reports that The One has already removed some Michigan Clinton delegates and replaced them with his own members of that “Civilian Army” he is so fond of mentioning, this delegate apparently doesn’t seem to be willing to go quietly. Long live the resistance! (Should I be writing that in another language?)

“I think that one of the reasons I got this letter was to intimidate me,” said Millstone. “It sounded very totalitarian. I thought it sounded undemocratic and I was completely shocked”

Millstone continued, “Having conversations on the pros and cons of those candidates, I don’t think this is an unusual thing at all in the Democratic Party.”

Yeah, well that was the Old Democratic Party Ms. Millstone. The one that ran democratically. Things are different now. Things are The Chicago Way. You pissed off the The One and His Comrades. You are outta here, girl!

About Millstone, Waak told 7NEWS, “From our point, it’s over with. She’s chosen not to come in and talk with us and so, we’re two weeks away from the convention and we’ll continue to work with the delegates who want to be worked with.”

“The ones who want to be Worked With”? Does this person have any idea what that sounds like? Just wondering. I wonder how one “works with” someone who isn’t in line? Is there like some special kind of shock treatment for this malady known as “Having a mind of your own” or “Recognizing a hoax when you see one”? It certainly is an interesting study.

Millstone firmly believed the e-mail from Compton was a clear message to Clinton delegates nationwide to refrain from critical comments of Obama if they wish to attend the convention.

“I think that it was calculated to have an impact on other delegates and I think this kind of communication does have a very chilling impact on other delegates because people become afraid to speak up. They become afraid to say what they think.”

That’s the idea, Ms. Millstone. Now you get it.

Millstone added, “You can’t get unity by telling people to shut up.”

Apparently, Ms. Millstone, if our experience is any indicator, the answer to your last remark is “Yes They Can!”.

Prepare to pack your things, Ms. Millstone.
.
As I have noticed for a long time, we have to depend on Local News coverage to get a true picture of what is going on with this Democratic Party Coup of frightening magnitude. Denver Channel 7 referred to this situation as a matter of “questionable tactics” by the Democratic Party. Let’s not ever hold our breath waiting for CNN or MSNBC to say this kind of thing about The One and His “new” Party.

Click below for the video accompanying the Denver Call 7 Investigative Report (Remember investigative reports?) for an eye-opening read of the letter Ms. Millstone received.

Hi all PUMA and Hillary supporters. If you are going to Denver and looking for a place Motel 6 in Lakewood-Den.(303-232-4924) still has rooms for only $50.00 a night. It’s only 15 min. to down town.

Comment by lute | 2008-08-13 08:52:39

Those of us who can’t fly to Denver would like to
do something nice, like buy lunch for a PUMA who does
attend.
It’s the least we can do.

Comment by Jamie D. | 2008-08-13 10:56:49

Just called Motel 6. Nothing available and she says cancellations not likely. $59.95/night

But if you have any other tips, please post. We’re still looking.

Pat Waak, just like the lot of them, is a friggin’ failure! The way she ran the State convention here was a joke at best. Imagine 200 alternates standing outside the men’s bathroom waiting to be called…no mic was used and the game of telephone was used. This party is a joke. I know Sacha Millstone and they picked the wrong person to bully.

Any updates on delegate Debra Bartoshevich? I believe she was actually ousted for her “John McCain” remarks. She had a late night spot on Fox Sunday but I only caught the part where she was condemning racism…

Clearly, the Obama gang are authoritarians who believe dissent is to be suppressed and elections are to be rigged.

The rise of the Obamites parallels the rise of the neocons in the Republican Party.

In both cases, a creepy minority gamed their way to the top, with the same result–i.e., the destruction of the party, and, curiously, the nomination of an incompetent ex-cokehead to the office of the President.

this time however, their candidate (dems.’) won’t win.

Comment by Uppity Woman | 2008-08-13 07:40:46

We never win when the radicals hijack our party. They have done it enough times to keep us from electing presidents. That’s why we have only elected two in 40 years. But this time, they imagine that, since it hasn’t worked all these years, they will create a “new” party. The problem is they can’t stop the fact that the majority of the party is still moderate. They can ignore them but they all vote. You are correct. There will be no win with Obama. What this is, is an inner struggle that has happened before and the result is always the same. The worse part is it comes at a time where the appearance of sympathy to people who want us dead is far more deadly to the party than just the ‘anti war’ mantra. This is skunky stuff. You can bet that the money exchange from those Hamas compound brothers won’t make CNN news, but it WILL make McCain TV spots. It’s already over. Not even the polls matter because by October, barack obama will look like he’s in charge of jihad when the swift boaters get done with him.

Comment by Betty | 2008-08-13 09:02:08

Gosh, I hope you are right!

But I think we need to be ready to swift boat him ourselves and not rely on others. And we can’t just swift boat him among ourselves we need to find a way to swift boat him with people who never go near a computer.

If the corporate media turns on McCain like they did on Hillary, Obama will be elected just be cause he is the last candidate standing. Is that why Obama is working so hard to say and do nothing? Does he know the media is going to trash McCain and all he needs to do is keep his head down?
I think the actions of Obama since the last debate, where Hillary showed us what a looser he is, could be used to teach people what it means to keep your head down.

Comment by tzada | 2008-08-13 09:34:29

It was in the news this AM. However of course it put the spin on it that McCain had received a 2K donation and Obama had received 32K from three brothers (which had been returned) hmmmm The gist of the story was this, with internet donations it was impossible to know where the donations came from. (This I doubt.) It was early and I was half asleep but I think it was on ABC internet news, or Politico.

Comment by Ellen D | 2008-08-13 09:42:09

It’s easy to get caught up in Party Politics to forget that you also need votes from outside your party to get elected President. To destroy your base is incredibly stupid - to keep doing the same thing over and over no matter the demonstrated results is insane.

Comment by splashy | 2008-08-13 12:26:46

It’s the same authoritarians. They have jumped the Repub ship because it’s going out of power. They follow power and money, and it’s going to the Dem party. They are ruining the party by turning it into a conservative party. They want to shut out any reasonable people that don’t fall in line.

They follow the social dominants, who will also go where they can gain power. What does that say about the Obama crowd?

You have to wonder now that Sen. Obama is pressing the issue of seating ALL of Michigan and Florida’s delegates to the convention if he has replaced all or some of Hillary’s delegates in those states with his own as well. I’ve read blog comments somewhere that that was what was happening.

Comment by guido in florida | 2008-08-13 07:07:43

I warned of this when they started to replace Clinton delegates in Florida with Obambi’s delegates and then he made his grand jester to seat all of florida once the switch had been made. He is obviously preparing in case we do get a roll call vote so that the numbers will not be what they were right after the primary. It is their contingency plan. They are just stacking the deck. We need to challenge these changes that took place after the primaries to delegates. And we need to beat the drums loudly to make sure we make as much noise about these gestapo like tactics to everyone who will listen. Sean Hannity where are you?

Comment by Uppity Woman | 2008-08-13 07:44:02

Back when nobody noticed, he ousted hundreds of his own delegates that weren’t trusted any longer. Kids who worked their asses off for him. He has made sure that even the slightest doubt about a delegate means a replacement.

Comment by standard | 2008-08-13 08:54:25

I hope that you will do another in-depth article about this.

Comment by FranSC | 2008-08-13 08:57:33

As far as Delegate replacements, convention speakers, etc., Obama is being given too much credit for this. While I’m sure he agrees with it, nothing about his campaign has been his idea. He was asked to run, his campaign strategy was laid out for him by the DNC, his silicone Valley Venture Capitalist fund-raising machine was used by Kerry and Nancy Pelosi in the “Take Back the House” strategy, Howard Dean used Move-on.Org, David Axelrod is known for his campaign tactics specific to black candidates, aka MASS Govenor Deval Patrick, Obama and Tim Russert became close friends following his 2004 convention speech.

Obama doesn’t know what has hit him. He is by no means calling the shots. It is all of the above that are calling the shots.

Comment by jadwiga | 2008-08-13 09:11:43

The kind of attitude displayed this election year toward voters, citizens, and political activists is off the wall and unacceptable.

”Enlightened authoritarianism”

Explains exactly what is going on.
After hearing about this I had a major BINGO moment.

Comment by roseeriter | 2008-08-13 07:35:08

A snip from the above link:

The enlightened authoritarianism conception is likewise untenable because it distorts the very essence of the problem. Those who support it should always remember that only one step separates enlightened authoritarianism from unenlightened and will lead to a personality cult. The conclusion suggests itself that leaders should be elected and rotated—this is one of the basic principles of democracy. It is not merely a political and juridical principle—it is a moral and ethical principle that should not be patterned to fit short-term considerations.

Even if we admit that one leader or another is indeed a highly enlightened person, the enlightened authoritarianism conception is absolutely useless even as a transition model. It detracts too far from democratic constructionism and completely relies on purely subjective factors rather than on objective laws of social development.

We should always bear in mind that the search for the best possible democratic model, which has been going on throughout the entire history of democracy, never went far from the basic idea—self-reproduction of democracy as a SYSTEM that least of all depends on subjective factors. The founding fathers of the democratic SYSTEMS have always warned against the “tyranny of the majority” (to borrow a Western term), that is, the tyranny of democracy. If democracy is fraught with tyranny, we should be apprehensive of an enlightened authoritarian ruler.

Comment by Johnny at Work | 2008-08-13 08:37:23

Exactly.

And for those who are not aware, the major Obama advisor, George Soros, has been undermining democratic reform in the former Soviet States, including the Caucuses and Georgia.

Google Obambi’s advisors George Soros, and Zbigniew Brzezinski.

See my take on it here: http://nobho.blogspot.com

So tell me Obots, how are Obambi’s advisors going to keep Obambi from screwing our country, our democracy and the world? Soros and Brzezinski are already hard at work against democracy and liberties throughout the world.

Comment by hank48188 | 2008-08-13 10:08:02

Obama is proud to call himself an “Internationalist”, that is why Ziggy and Soros are promoting him, this is just Jimmy Carter Lite, they found someone that can read a teleprompter but knows NOTHING, perfect for them. Obama already said he doesn’t know how to run anything, he just wants to be the SYMBOL, or figurehead mascot.

Comment by AX10 | 2008-08-13 13:01:12

Carter was quite the disaster for us.
He is a great humanitarian, but a piss poor leader.

Comment by Annie Oakley | 2008-08-13 10:35:22

I used to hear that a “benevolent dictator” would be the best form of government. I’d say “enlightened authoritarian” is the same and is equally an oxymoron. An enlightened leader would not be an authoritarian and an authoritarian is not enlightened.

The One with his demand of Unity is not an enlightened advocate for democracy. Democracy is in a serious global downgrade, and puppets working for the likes of Soros and Brzezinski are not going to exchange their power for the power of the process.

Great article, Uppity

Remember what they did to Geraldine Ferraro, they even contacted her job! Just posting on Y/t-you receive threats and name calling, the shutting fown of blogs….the list goes on. Real Americans have to stand up against this tide of Mugabe thug tactics. This is the USA, not Zimbabwe? These appear to be similar tactics used by that cheap, tin-horn dictator. I am tired of hearing of these undemocratic tactics, no less by my party! When this is over with, we need to take party away from the greedy piggies! Its time for the resignation of Howard Dean, who has allowed such tactics, Donna Brazille, the hypocrite Wexler!

I have to say it would not surprise me.

Jesus, they don’t treat you with that little respect in the damn military–and that’s an authoritarian system.

After hearing about how this woman was treated by those goons, I feel very comfortable leaving the Democratic Party now. As soon as November is over, I’m switching my registration, without regret.

I was, until I read this, feeling a bit of sadness about leaving the organization. It’s hard to let go of something that’s been a part of your life for so many decades, that’s been a family tradition for a century.

I’m, as the kids say, “Just so OVER them” at this point. It’s offensive, what they’re doing. It’s just like the shit the RNC pulls.

We really do need a third party, of moderate, centrist NORMAL people who give a shit about national security, economic and safety net issues.

Let me try again!

The short version of my “missing” comment:

Yesterday, I wrote about my Costco experience when I purchased The Obama Nation. You can read this at my blog, just click on my name or go to thatsmeontheleft.blogspot.com

Anyway, I have posted an update. Also, an Obamabot wrote a pretty nasty comment on my blog yesterday. My gut feeling is he/she came from this site (read my comment here and followed mehometo my blog). To that Obamabot: I will never post your nasty comment. I don’t care if you will give me your email address if I do post your comment. I don’t need or want your email. I have no desire to write to you or know who you are. Lastly, YOU are NOT my “friend.” I don’t post Obamabots comments!!!!

I am so tired of their intimidation tactics!!!

Comment by Uppity Woman | 2008-08-13 07:51:59

I get comments from them all the time. I had one who was truly schitzy with the comments. Tried everything from “what do you want” to “it’s over. get used to it”. Long posts. Short posts. whatever. I took his IP address and put it in the automatic spam category. I rarely even look at spam except to check quickly that one of my regulars didn’t accidentally land there for mentioning “sinclair” for example. You can just dump them in spam by putting their IP in the spam options. That way you don’t have to waste your time reading that crap.

I find it ironic that they always mention that we don’t want ‘discourse’ and we are undemocratic for not allowing their posts so that they can derail my blog. I learned how to do that from MyDD, kos and Huffpo and they have the nerve to complain about my little blog. These people are caught up in their own irony.

An Obambi presidency will be all about authoritarian rule. Democracy and Liberties will be weakened. Those ideals are quaint, and get in the way.

The signs are all there. Look at the way the campaign is being run. Look at Obambi’s highest advisors George Soros and Zbigniew Brzezinski.

Usurping the Democratic Party and the DNC, the backflips on FISA, and campaign finance are the glaring beacons of what is to come.

Are you looking forward to Obambi’s “Civilian National Security Force”, which he proposes will have all the funding and power of the military?

Keep the change. I don’t need it.

By the same token, I guess once the people are whipped into line, control of corporations will be next. Isn’t that called a shakedown, (contribute or else) a la Jackson Snr and Sharpton style.

Isn’t it more than a bit misleading to relate this story and leave out the fact that Ms. Millstone hasn’t merely vowed to vote for Clinton, but then also to publicly quit the Democratic Party? I think that either party, at any time in the past, would have acted similarly to try to keep such a person out of their convention.

Comment by Rob in Chicago | 2008-08-13 10:53:40

Where did you read that she was threatening to leave the party? That wasn’t in the news report. If it was said in her video interview accompanying the news story, then that statement came after the threats from the DNC Gestapo, and the purported statement of resignation from the party did not prompt the threats (however the threats may have prompted the statement.)

GINAAAAAAAA!

W00T! ;-)

did you get to see the other video Manning was referencing in the prior clip I linked?

Here’s the other one FYI:

HERE

It’s titled - sadly - Dr. King’s Work and Dream is now Dead

:-(

Comment by bemused | 2008-08-13 09:56:26

Thanks, Dawnelle. I may not always agree with Manning but at least he seems to remember that pastors are supposed to have G-d in mind, something that seems a little lacking in other pastors we could mention. I certainly hope King’s dream isn’t dead, even though BO et al have done their best to say it *is* all about skin color. After this election, maybe resuscitating King would be a good project to take on.

they will find him along with other greats from history already FLIPPED in their GRAVES!!!

The only lists for the delegates are still the ones from mid July on the DNC website, and I am having a hard time finding “current” delegate lists.

Comment by Uppity Woman | 2008-08-13 08:26:20

Kat, you will continue to have a “hard time” identifying replacements.

Comment by Katmoon | 2008-08-13 09:14:24

I found Marilyn “Mike” Nemeth, also a Clinton supporter(the runner up in votes to Bartoshevich) replaced her. Interesting Bartoshevich isn’t on the Jul 18th list posted at the DNC Convention site for WI delegates, but Wisconsin didn’t strip her status until July 25th; looks like they knew they were going to do this ahead of time.

Here is the actual letter sent from the WI Democratic Party

Dear Co-Chairs Herman and Roosevelt:
Attached is a challenge and petition filed on behalf of the Democratic Party of
Wisconsin.
Through this filing, we challenge the credentials of Ms. Debra Bartoshevich, elected as a
delegate to Senator Hillary Clinton to the Democratic National Convention from
Wisconsin’s 1st Congressional District.
The petition requests that the RBC remove Ms. Bartoshevich from the convention roll
and replace her with the next highest vote getter in the caucus, Ms. Marilyn Nemeth.
This challenge proceeds on two grounds:
First, Ms. Bartoshevich violated Article II.B in the Call to the Convention. By
supporting Senator McCain, a candidate other than the nominee of the
Democratic National Convention, she violated the Call, and
Second, Ms. Bartoshevich violated Article II.C in the Call to the Convention. By
supporting Senator McCain, she did not have the best interests and welfare of
the Democratic Party in mind.
Please do not hesitate to let me know if you have any questions or require further
information. Thank you for your time and we look forward to hearing back from you
soon.
Democratically yours,
Jason Rae
Democratic National Committee Member

One more part from the affidavit that follows the letter, and this just plain disgusting, the wording, good god! I did not post the link, as the affidavit outs this woman’s personal information, which is also beyond disgusting that the democratic party of WI felt the need to post this.

10. The Democratic Party of Wisconsin and its members have been embarrassed in
the local and national media by the decision of Ms. Bartoshevich to endorse
Senator McCain.
11. We have been personally injured by the decision of Ms. Bartoshevich to endorse
Senator McCain because it has made the Democratic Party of Wisconsin look
weak and not unified.
12. We request that Ms. Debra Bartoshevich not be seated as a delegate to the 2008
Democratic National Convention and be removed from the roll of the Convention
delegates.
13. On Friday, June 13, 2008, the Democratic Party of Wisconsin’s State Convention,
the highest assembled authority for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, met in
convention in Stevens Point, Wisconsin and unanimously passed a resolution
supporting the Democratic Party of Wisconsin’s challenge to Ms. Bartoshevich’s
credentials on the grounds she is not a bona fide Democrat and she is not
supporting the party’s nominee.
14. Further, to fill the vacancy in the delegate

I guess signed loyalty oaths will be next, swearing absolute allegience to The One and the New Party.

Count me out. If the Dem leadership is unwilling to stop this trainwreck then voters in November must. The Democratic Party had a clear winner in HRC but saw fit to kick her to the curb.

And that’s exactly what I intend do in the voting booth. I’ll pull the Republican lever. And I won’t feel a moment’s guilt.

I guess signed loyalty oaths will be next,

Remember when Bush was doing this? You had to sign a paper to get into one of his forums.

Comment by Peggy Sue | 2008-08-13 08:45:07

Yeah. I just love it that the Democratic Party has learned the finer points of control from the Bush administration–Karl Rove and his merry band of king makers

But why not? Control the image, control the message. Brave New World.

Sickening.

This is exactly how Frank Marshall Davis acted when he took over one Black organization in Hawaii that collapsed, then attempted to take over the Hawaiian chapter of the NAACP and was thrown out.

What is so incredible, is that in these present times, people are willing to support a useless black bobblehead with no substance who throws the race card whenever convenient.

We need to really hope that the GOP are going to double and triple inspect the operation of the Diebold voting machines on Nov 4th, especially after reviewing the results during the primaries in Illinois that were so far out of wack that every grave must have openned up that evening and the spirits cast votes.

Wow, now people who want tickets to The One’s speech are required to “volunteer” for him to get the tickets. It’s already starting folks. How can you be required to volunteer? That’s the oxymoron of the century. Also, it would be an in-kind donation, so people who are at the limit to donate for him would then break campaign finance laws. But we already know that Barry doesn’t care about no stinkin’ finance laws.

During the primaries, I remarked in an e-mail to another Clinton supporter that Senator Obama and his campaign frightened me. How prophetic! I’ve been having a little trouble with my computer going down, and since I’m new to this, I always have to get help to get it back up. A few days ago, when I turned on my computer, there was a message from my security that someone had just tried to infiltrate my computer three times in a ten or fifteen minute period. I had just posted an opinion on another site. One that wasn’t very complimentary to Senator Obama, also stating that he frightened me. I think I was being targeted because of this. I have been active in politica for over twenty years, and have never felt this way before. My computer is new, so the trouble shouldn’t be happening. Needless to say, I fear for our country when I see the way things are going. Watch your back, everyone.
