Darragh and Will on Hardball!

Darragh Murphy, of PumaPAC and NoQuarter Radio — along with fellow PUMA Will Bower, of Just Say No Deal — were guests on MSNBC’s Hardball today.

I like the title of the video: “Clinton’s fire inextinguishable.”

I’m going to poke around MSNBC and see if there’s a print story to go with this video. But I thought I’d rush this up so you can all see it (since, ahem, most of us don’t watch MSNBC much these days).

Great job Will and Murphy!

Somebody ought to tell Davey boy this is America and you allowed to vote or don’t vote for whomever.. Anyway I thought the interview was ok, I mean I wouldn’t rush home and blog about it but it was ok. The problem I had was they didn’t challenge Schuster when he started to using Obama camp talking points how many times did Schuster got out the talking point of Obama won the popular vote? And how people signed on for selective punishment..

They seem to me that they don’t do too many tv interviews and the ones they do it’s with friendly outlets (nothing wrong with that)and dealing with a pissed off Obot for 10 mins doesn’t help. If I was them and I see where the interview was going south to hell but a quick stop at holy then thou blvd, I would mention ok if you’re going to base who I am cuz I gave money to McCain EIGHT YEARS AGO.. How can Schuster justify cashing in a pay check from a company that deals with death and destruction in Iraq? GE makes the weapons and the planes that’s been used in Iraq and GE was one of the biggest Bush donors let’s not forget at the start of the Iraqi war MSNBC was trying it’s hardest to be a Fox News clone they gave Frank Luntz a show and they even gave that nut job Michael Savage a show and up til Olbermann took some ratings from O’Reilly MSNBC became the network for Obots So Davey shouldn’t try that game.

Back to the subject they played defense instead of offense, Obama didn’t win the popular vote and the numbers Schuster has are from the Obama campaign site, and the idea of Roe V. Wade being overturned is another taking point, the Republicans will never overturn Roe V. Wade it’s the one thing to get the pro lifers out to vote and why would they risk that voting bloc? As for Obama flip flops he can’t bash McCain on off shore drilling and then switch yourself, you can’t be against unwarranted spying but be for it when it suits your political goals.

He was ordering them to vote for fraudbama. He made fun of how much she raised. There are over 200 puma groups and her group is only 1 and 50,000 is not bad it’s first 2 months in existence. What about the other groups and the money they have raised. Donors are getting hit with all kinds of groups needing money including paying off Hillary’s debt…which by the way we never did find out how much we raised on July 4th and beyond that.
I’m holding my breath and pulling the lever not for Obama. I can’t stand the dictatorship I am witnessing with the Democrat(ic?) Party. I can cast my vote for anyone I choose and for any reason even if it’s because I like her speeches or because I want to cast a protest vote..my vote..my choice and no one is going to make me do anything for their advantage. It’s for me and my advantage.
Capice? DNC and stupid pundit? That pundit was sooooo chauvanistic he is boring. Evil pushy bastard.. What a turn off.
They are now trying to minimize PUMA. Nice. Minimize the threat? Whether they like it or not we are the silent majority. Dont believe me? Go ask someone in any part of WV if they are voting for fraudbama…..nope…….millions in every state are not voting for fraudbama. Soooo idiot pundit bully. Stick that up your arse and smoke it.

With the rapid fire questions, twisting of information and talking over answers David doesn’t like.

It is difficult to get complete answers out in a form that is accessible.

Clearly the goal is to try and make PUMA look foolish or upset them on camera. However, they made it clear that despite the ruse the entire MSM has been floating. This nomination business is a convention tradition and Obama hasn’t given Hillary anything that she didn’t earn herself.

They got a few other points in that I haven’t seen made.

It can’t be easy when you see professional talking heads struggling to get their points in effectively against similiar host techniques.

Obama did win the popular vote. From RCP the total numbers are:

Obama: 17, 535,458
Clinton: 17, 493, 836

No doubt about it, close as can be, but Obama won.

Comment by Andy | 2008-08-15 13:14:11

You are looking at the wrong numbers since those are not the totals including all counts. Counting caucuses the RCP numbers are:

Obama 17,869,542 47.4%

Clinton 18,046,007 47.9%

Spread: Clinton +176,465 +0.5%

Comment by Linda | 2008-08-15 15:04:35

those aren’t the numbers. Those are the numbers WITHOUT MI…which excuse me DID VOTE! I don’t think the DNC gets to just wipe the REALITY of American votes off the map just because they feel like it

Popular Vote (w/MI)**17,535,458 obama 47.40% 17,822,145 clinton 48.10% Clinton +286,687

Estimate w/IA, NV, ME, WA* Obama 17,869,542 47.40% Clinton 18,046,007 47.90% Clinton +176,465

Here is what gets me. The Dems are doing exactly what the GOP did in 2000. Then, to get re-elected the GOP used scare tactics. Same thing that the Bots are doing with the women’s rights thing. It is so ridiculous. Nothing changed Bushy’s first term when there was a GOP Prez and Congress.

Comment by Linda | 2008-08-15 15:15:41

exactly my point

divided government is the only way to protect ourselves in the absence of qualified candidates or intelligible policy stances

allows us to pressure the Dem congress to oppose idiotic policy, AN OPTION THAT IS OFF THE TABLE if BO gets in…congress will be a rubber stamp for him in the same way the repugs were for Bush

He only came out on top if you give him points for interrupting and talking over them whenever they addressed his arguments. I guess we could also give him bonus points for getting through the whole interview without his smirk slipping. He looked over the top, and hostile throughout. As the diarist said, most people here have quit watching NBC stations, so the only people he impressed would be Keith Olbermann, Chris Mathews, and the rest of the Obots at MSNBC and in the blogosphere.

So Scumster treats some amiable Americans expressing their right to peacefully protest like shit

The host is going to bully guests into voting for Oblowme?

What’s next - a snuggie?

He came off like an Ass, but Will should have interjected and told them how we came up with the millions. I don’t think this interview went well. I’m sorry they didn’t drive home any real points. How could they? He cut them off, wouldn’t allow them to finish what they were saying. If I was either of them I would have said after the first question is this an interview? And if so do you intend for me to answer your questions without being so rude? If not this interview is over. I can be spending my time campaigning against Obama. Doing some real investigative reporting unlike what MSNBC has done, along with all their buddies in the MSN. Let’s talk about his ties. Let’s talk about his adoption. Let’s talk about his voting record. Let’s talk about the other states SERIOUSLY that violated the DNC rules and were not punished…etc.

so finally they r making it to the kingdom of the networks and r not prepared?!!!!!!!

what were the talking points for the past 2 months ….. to be prepared?! nothing new.

the jerk mentioned that obama had the popular votes like 3 times until bill corrected him. also they let him make his points …..

murphy is like PENN. a liability for the PUMA’s. one because she donated that money to mccain, and all the reporters bring that as an issue.

in one of the past interviews, she sad that party unity my ass is cute and she came up with her own definition: party unity means action. sounds like a deflated slogan ….. just politically correct?!!!!! i do not thing this is the moment when any PUMA has to think about correctness

will b. knows the points. unfortunately he is a little softy and not assertive enough.

the only one who stops these talking heads, puts them in their place and brings the issues up front is Diane Mantouvalos. she counter-attacked cavuto and she always makes her points clear.

on an sarcastic note. murphy did not have time to prepare for the interview but hey, she had time for make up, brush her hair and put on a cocktail dress?!!!!!!! she has to look good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

go PUMA.

on a personal note, it is nice to misbehave, and in nov. i made up my mind, it will be a rare opportunity to wake up, vote for a republican ticket top to bottom and against every democrat incumbent in the congress, until the DNC changes the caucus rules and eliminates iowa and NH as first states to vote. and i can’t believe that i just wrote this, especially that mccain and joe lieberman in reverse order, r 2 of the politicians i’m more disgusted with.

but, hey, it is a protest vote.

so go PUMA

Comment by Clinton Fan | 2008-08-15 00:07:32

You plainly need to realize that the whole PUMA movement, essentially, is “post party.”

You know how Barack was trying to “own” that shit? Reaching out to GOP, and so forth? Throwing those gays quietly under the bus (Shhhhhh! Don’t scream now, “girls,” while those tires crush you!!!), playing fast and loose on every side of the ROE issue, cheering on FISA, carping about a war whist funding it….see, the guy is a bullshitter, trying to co-opt the center.

Only we, in the center, are not having it.

Party unity–my ass.

My conclusion–we have way too many craven politicians. Assholes and liars. And Obama is the greatest of these assholes and liars.

And I won’t “move on” and I am not “getting over it.” And fuck anyone up their ugly bungahole with a hot poker who suggests that I must–it just ain’t happening.

And I am NOT alone.

PUMA speaks for me. Senator Clinton was, and is, my candidate. No matter what she says. I don’t follow her like a Messiah, I appreciate her strengths. There’s a difference. She can suggest I do this, and ask that I do that, but I am under no obligation or inclination to bend over and take it, simply because she has a gun to her head and is forced to say these things.

I’ll think for myself, thanks. Oh, and Howard Dean? I used to like you. I preferred you over my own junior senator. Now, I think you (and my junior senator) suck. Fuck you, Howard. Fuck you and the horse you rode in on! And fuck my junior Senator, too! It’s rather liberating not having to DEFEND your sorry asses anymore!

Audacity: that’s a little harsh don’t ya think? Yes, I’ve been saying that Will is too mellow and soft, and that spokespeople need to get very clear abou their talking points and pound them, regardless of the questions they are being asked or the tone. Given that they’ve been doing this for all of 2 months, and they went into the belly of the beast (MSNBO), they stayed on message, and remained calm in the face of that rabid dog.

Does Schuster really consider himself a journalist BTW? he didn’t listen to a single response, and came with the only one intention: to discredit them. How much is the Obama campaign paying these guys? They’re ridiculous. ER Murrow is turning over in his grave. I’d love to hear what Walter Cronkite thinks of all these hacks.

Anyway, Murphy & Will are not professionals, and have sacrificed so much time and effort to move this forward. Until you’ve done as much, you need to lighten up.

The point is:

Scumster shouting over them - small wonder he’s perpetually hoarse.

Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly let people finish their sentences and are more gracious. Even Limbaugh uses humor.

Scumster is definitely not ready for prime time.

Who cares if she gave money to McCain in 2000?

People don’t MARRY a party! Grow up.

People get divorced, change jobs, and move.

But the right to vote is inalienable.

Unless you’re a Democrat.

Schuster’s a mentally stunted human being. This is the same guy that mocked Clinton for pimping out her daughter and during the Republican Primary had his head halfway up Huckleberry’s rearend. The entire crew on MSNBC can’t ask an objective question and accept a truthful answer.

This notion that $50k doesn’t represent support–implying the more cash you throw into the PAC the more votes and voice–really spits in the face of the US Constitution and the “We The People” from the Preamble.

Comment by Ted | 2008-08-14 22:53:29

But we all do recall Bower saying $6 to $9 million was being raised around the 4th of July, by PUMA, right? He said “we don’t need Obama’s supporters - we will retire the debt ourselves”. And now they are saying they have only raised $50,000 total? HRC must be pretty pissed at Bower!

Comment by jrterrier | 2008-08-14 22:56:20

You are confusing two things. The $6 to $9 million reference was to the amount that PUMA supporters were raising for Hillary to retire her debt. The $50K is the amount that PUMA has raised to support its own effort — website and such.

Agree…It was another manipulation in order to confuse the audience. Kinda like how the O-Hole kept repeating that Obama won the popular vote….Aaaaaand we all know that isn’t true. Brave of Will and Darryl to try. How sad is that….When Two Americans go on TV and are attacked simply because they represent voters not buying into Obamaswill. I’m glad that both of them made clear that this has become bigger than either candidate although Obama and the fraudulent support the DNC has given him is the catalyst.
When the O-Hole kept insisting that they listen to HRC and vote for Obama….I had to laugh. This coercion is pretty much the point.

Obama ‘explains’

I sure hope this gets around before Nov.!!!

On Sat, 22 Mar 2008 18:48:04 -0400, (remove name) forwarded the following:

Hot on the heels of his explanation for why he no longer wears a flag pin, presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama was forced to explain why he doesn’t follow protocol when the National Anthem is played..

According to the United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171, During rendition of the n ational anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart.

‘As I’ve said about the flag pin, I don’t want to be perceived as taking sides,’ Obama said. ‘There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression. And the anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all. It should be swapped for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song ‘I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing.’ If that were our anthem, then I might salute it.’

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this could possibly be our next president!!
I, for once, am speechless. He has absolutely NO pride in this country!!!!!

This was unbelievable and disgraceful. Schuster was acting as an Obama surrogate not as an interviewer. He should have been fired after he accused Hillary of “pimping” Chelsea. it would be such an upset for her to win she would probably have to pick barky. BUT, he will be found to be ineligible and will have to step down within the first year, leaving HRC free to pick someone like Mayor Nutter, etc.

Comment by Chiten | 2008-08-15 03:12:46

nope, Ed Rendell would be the best pick for Hillary. He worships the ground she walks on and the state of PA worships the ground he walks on. He would be her best choice.

Comment by Havoc | 2008-08-15 10:48:28

You people are nuts. Hillary isn’t going anywhere but back to New York. You will not coopt the convention. But it will be fun watching you pull your collective hair out when your attempts fail.

They did great; the host was a moron who sounded like a true Obot. Didn’t know much of anything besides a few of the Obot talking points.

Who knew Obama won the popular vote? He said that how many times, and it is no truer today than it was at the beginning of June.

Comment by SusanUnPC | 2008-08-14 22:40:49

Well, they didn’t earn the nickname MSNBO for nothing.

Comment by s. hall | 2008-08-15 02:49:47

meileen I read earlier today that the talking points from the Obama Campaign was to destroy the credibility of PUMA.

Comment by KendallJ | 2008-08-14 22:46:09

Shuster was an asshole who wouldn’t let them answer the questions. He wanted to run his own mouth spewing lies. They should have cold him out on not letting them answer. They also should have talked about the disproportionate weight allacated to delegates in the red state caucuses and the net effect of disenfranchising Fl. and MI.

Comment by Tuppence 411 | 2008-08-15 06:04:42

Shuster’s outright HATRED of all things Clintons is palpable right through the TV. Disgusting. Personal bias masquerading as news. MSNBC should hang their head in shame.

Comment by janine | 2008-08-15 20:10:48

Oh Please…why should they detail the ‘disproportionate delegates between caucuses and primaries’?? that has nothing to do with why they were on. the PUMA’s HATE Obama, period. they will do and say anything to put him in a negative light so that voters will hopefully see their viewpoint and vote for McCain or someone else. they have no credibility in any of their arguments or otherwise….talk about drinking the koolaid - you Obama-haters are drunk with it.

Comment by janine | 2008-08-14 22:47:11

These two jerks were really pathetic…NOT ONE legitimate argument to support their viewpoint….nothing but their slanted opinion and love of Hillary and hatred of Obama. Total creeps that can’t even raise money to speak of for their big cause….they have NO support that’s worth speaking of - ZIP, NONE.

Comment by imustprotest | 2008-08-14 22:55:02

Ha ha…shows how bias you are. Do you just open your mouth and let MSNBO shove the talking points in or do you inhale them somehow?

Comment by no waffles aka drkate | 2008-08-14 22:58:46

wow, you’d better wash the koolaid off of your glasses and take your earplugs out.

what part of democratic process did you not get? Do you not understand that questioning the tactics of the DNC is not hatred?

the only hate came from the moderator who wouldn’t listen, just like you, had his own ideas and talking points.

anchovy, go home.

I suggest you drink heavily janine on November 4th.

Eat my shit, Obot.

Comment by doctorwang | 2008-08-15 01:28:27

Their answers were, indeed, pathetic. $50,000 for a PAC is peanuts. It shows how little support they actually have. It’s all been just a lot of hot air.

Comment by Chiten | 2008-08-15 03:15:46

contrary to obama’s Soetoro’s belief, PEOPLE vote, not the amount of money they have. If money voted, we’d all be in deep shit. PUMA doesn’t have a lot of money, they have a lot of people. People are more valuable than money is when it comes to an election. 1 person = 1 vote, not $1 = 1 vote.

Comment by tzada | 2008-08-15 08:33:20

Guess they shoulda called 1-800-GAZA 4 OBAMA for donations…oops that number is already taken

Comment by msindy | 2008-08-15 16:37:10

janine - wanna see pathetic? look in the mirror

go smooch the picture of Barry under your pillow

Comment by PewL | 2008-08-14 22:47:39

The interviewer was definetely a jerk, No wonder that station is so far down on the list.

Clinton did win the popular vote,if the Obama thugs and the DNC didn’t cheat.

Comment by imustprotest | 2008-08-14 22:49:55

What was with the pledge at the end?? Obama won’t even pledge allegiance to our flag and yet because they’re PUMAs they have to pledge allegiance to B.Soreto?
